"Why the sudden gesture?"
Rayl looked at his features, why did she helped him? "I do not know myself..." she uttered out as she watched him with intriguing eyes the way he hold the ice and slippery hoe.
Rayl sighed as de Piero was finally hold the hoe firmly with the use of the cotton gloves. As she heard the possible outcomes that de Piero have stated, she quirked an eyebrow confused. She understands fully the statement he have said, but it somehow confuses the black haired girl about things about de Piero fastly knowing her without her being noticed and being friends with him.
She sighed, but also; there is a possible that she might as well trust him. He seems to be a lad who is clumsy yet responsible. She shrugged her shoulders and looked at the finished hoe in her hand as it didn't slipped.
"Where are we going to dig now?" she let out, still thinking and wanting to fully understand the statement de Piero have stated.

Leo gave out a singular chuckle at the girl's question of where they're supposed to dig, then swiftly pulls out a sort of contraption from his seemingly larger than life bag. He twists a knob on the hand-sized device, and it started beeping in a slow rate. "Let me reintroduce myself. My name is Leo de Piero, an I'm an inventor of sorts." Shaking the object in his palm for Rayl to see, the artist then walks off, one hand handling the hoe, the other spreading as far as possible for the object to signal out something only the inventor knows. He walks off according to how the object responds, sharply watching every rock he passed.
After a few moments, the beeping rate of the device increases rapidly, and at that, Leo shuts off the thing, stuff it back in his bag, turns to Rayl before unenthusiastically pointed at a flat rock-less area beside him.
"This part of the soil is rich with copper." He stated, still with his indifferent expression, then took a stable hold of the ice hoe, proceeding to prepare in a stance to dig the area. "There's something bothering me, though. Won't this thing melt?" He asks, referring to the hoe he's clutching currently.
He doesn't wait for the answer. After dropping his bag, Leo raised the ice-made tool above his head, and...well, pathetically tilling the soil as he tries to dig through the dirt with the strength of a stickman. Granted he's not so buff, and he was never a good person to even hammer a nail through a board. The soil didn't even have much impact by his feeble hoe blow, only just a scratch on the ground.
Leo blinked his eyes. Then gingerly turns to Rayl. "..Clearly, I've never slammed something to the ground to produce any scratch. This is an achievement." He stated sarcastically to the black-haired maiden. "Care to astound me by the skills you attained from your assassination classes?"

"Care to astound me by the skills you attained from your assassination classes?"
Rayl merely glanced the guy, she sighed as she looked at the hoe de Piero is holding then to hers. "My ice hoes won't melt at all," she uttered out as she answered his question awhile ago. "Unless I command them," She took a few step forward and looked at the soil de Piero point out.
She looked at the whole place and see some water, which wet the soil, near them. "That would be a help too..." she thought out, looking at the few amount of water near them.
She looked at it, controlling the water to combined with all the same element. As the water formed into a palm-like size, she raised her hand just in her chest-length as the water went to her way. "This will help us to dig the soil more..." she uttered out softly as she controls the water element, making it lower on the ground as the water wets the soil.
She looked at the soil contently as she dig the soil with full force, and there, she caught a big amount of soil in her hoe. As the soil which she dig lays on the ground, the water in that soil formed again as it moved their way in the soil Rayl is digging.

Leo steps back a bit in surprise at the hovering water inching closer to them, watching the floating liquid cautiously, and stares as it seeped into the ground...in Rayl's command. He turns his attention to the girl for a moment, speechless....or rather, not knowing what else to say, except to just gawked at her on how at that moment when she's controlling the water, her scary facial expression just seemed to soften. ...And the sight surprised him for someone as cold as her.
"Y-yeah.." He dumbly agrees, barely able to hear her utter. He noticed how the water assist her with her digging, making the task a lot more easier. After a while of wasting time gawking, Leo raised his own hoe and helps Rayl to dig the soil.
"Water and ice seems to be your affinity. That's quite interesting."

Rayl couldn't help but nodded, proud that someone have praise her skills; her water and ice elements.
"Some said they're one of the powerful elements here in the world." she stated looking down at the soil that they dig. She looked at the soil then glanced at de Piero, "And one of the most dangerous as well..." she finished, sighing as they dig more of the soil.
She looked down at the her element that helps them to digged more, yet it is true. The water is one of the powerful elements in the world along with the Air, Metal, Earth and Fire. And one of the dangerous ones.

Leo listened intently to her, though he didn't show it much since he looks too focused into digging now that the ground's soft enough for even his feeble arms to muster enough strength to dig deep. He could feel her eyes focused onto him for a while, but he didn't respond...
...Or rather. He responds a bit too late.
The blank artist paused, pulling the hoe he handled out of the digging spot to settle at the non-watery soil, and slightly rests his arms on the handle of it, breathing in and out through his mouth. Not used by all the work and action probably.
Playing his thoughts as Rayl's words swim in with the current of his mind, Leo finally shrugged, calming his breathing. "I thought..." He started, focusing his gaze onto this silent girl. "That water represents community. ...Teamwork, even." He scratched the back of his head, then wipes the sweats forming at his forehead.
"I mean. One drop of water...nobody notices it comes and goes. But when it combines with others of its type...it would form a strong rushing current of a river that could even blow down a dam. So, it NEEDS to be surrounded with others to even flow.."
It became apparent that Leo was just unconsciously speaking his thoughts out when the lad snapped out of his stance, and quickly continues his work. "Sorry," he muttered, truly wondering how his tongue managed to get loose.
As Leo slams the hoe to the wet soil, it suddenly got stuck and the lad can't pull neither the tool nor the soil off. "...Either I just became pathetically weak, or did I just hit a solid ore there?"

Rayl though about the word 'teamwork' ah yes. The camaraderie of people in an activity. de Piero describes the element of water as a community. She looked at him, "Maybe you're right though..." she uttered out, somewhat convinced about her skills. Yet, she doesn't truly believe of the word teamwork to her, but her she was; helping the artist/inventor to search for the ore he was looking for.
Rayl furrowed her eyebrows once de Piero stopped digging up the soil. "Must be some kind..." she uttered out, agreeing to the later part of de Piero's statement.

Leo got down on his knees slowly, laying down the ice hoe beside him with such care, it's like he handles the tool as something precious. Slowly, he reached down his hands into the wet soil both of them had dug, and indeed, he felt something solid. Pulling his hands back out, the artist looks up to Rayl, his expression as blurry as it was since she first saw him.
"I don't know what it is," he started, removing the cotton gloves off his hands, "But its definitely not an ore." Leo finished, averting his eyes from the woman and turns his attention to their digging. "It's huge."
Folding the dirty gloves neatly into a sort of hardened tennis-like ball, he occupied his bag back with the gloves, but he didn't closed his baggage just yet. In fact, he's rummaging inside that huge luggage of his for something else...
When his hands finally emerged from the bag, it turns out he pulled something bright and small. ...A pair of goggles, it seems.
"Here," the odd artist handled the item to Rayl, strongly encouraging her to take it with just how he gestured the goggle to her. "Wear it." Though his right hand is offering Rayl the amber-green goggle, his left hand is still busy ransaking his large pack.
God knows what this strange man is thinking.

Rayl frowned as the thing they were looking for is not the solid one in the ground. But as de Piero fetched something on his bag, Rayl looked at him a bit curious. "What is this guy thinking?" she couldn't help but thought out as she looked at him curiously.
And she was dumbfounded when de Piero have offered her to wear the amber-green goggles. She looked at de Piero with a blank questioning gaze; confused and wanting to know what this guy wanted to do.
She just nodded quietly and accepted the offer de Piero was making. She took a hold of the goggles and examine it, without a second thought; she wears the goggle and then looked at de Piero. Noticing that de Piero is still rummaging in his bag she asked him, "What are you searching for?"

Leo seems focused into finding whatever he wished for, but he paused the moment Rayl asked him something. It took him a while to process what her question means, and when he does, he slowly lifts his head up to meet her eyes, as if surprised she would ask him of something. "I'm an artist slash inventor slash madman. Try to guess before I find the thing, hm?"
He ended his sentence with a true smile of his, because his eyes seemed to let out a certain radiance as he grinned. It was only for a short moment though, before Leo turns his attention back to his bag. Maybe his sudden happiness is because he finally could talk to someone around his complicated age(or so he thought), and he managed to offer Rayl a punt too.
It took a while, but when the strange artist pulls his hand out of the bag, it was just one tiny bird egg...or so it looked like one, except that it's shiny, it's dark-tinted, and the fact that Leo's holding onto it so carefully and gently made it seem like it's valued...or dangerous.
"Did the word 'bomb' came across your mind?" He stood up with a small though real smile, almost excited by the involvement of explosions into the scene.

Rayl for once couoldn't help but blinked at her with amusement, then blink for the second time as she looked at him with an amuse look. She couldn't help but feel somewhat happy that she saw him feel happy and excited, for something.
She suddenly widened her eyes when she looked at the tiny bird egg; de Piero is holding the thing with a carefully and gentle ahnd. "You don't mean..." she started out as she looked at the guy with an excited look. "You're going to explode that thing in this hole?" she finished saying.
She couldn't help but to think out that this guy is a bomb-diggity lover. An explosion lover it seems, or just this guy in front of her just wanted to have some adventure in his life.

As Leo shifts his weight on his other leg, he can't deny that he was kind of surprised upon seeing Rayl's reaction when he mentioned the bomb. That slight widening of her eyes, that excited look, she even looked almost happy - those type of little gestures got Leo on his good side and just smiled back as a response.
"You nailed it," the black-haired lad almost laughed at the excitement, moving around his bag towards the hole they had dug and grinned down. It's very unusual of him to even smile in his own free-will, most of his smiles are small and weak because he forces it to be nice.
It's different now, though. Because he's holding his hand-made explosion at the moment. And adding up that there's a spectator nearby further excites him.
"I already though out all the possibilities when I explode the hole," He suddenly said out, turning to Rayl and back to his normal unenthusiastic expression, but his eyes clearly is brighter than usual. "Ranging from our deaths, to a new discovery. Who knows if that thing down there is a huge explosion mine back from the war...or a hidden treasure. So, if you still appreciate your own life, then please back away now."
He smiled again at her. "At least you can do more for this world, things that you could never think of, so you better live longer, Miss Rayl Enzan." He slightly bowed to her before turning around completely to bury his 'bird egg' in the hole.
"You're able to help someone," Leo said as he's digging the soil a bit and sets the device in it, "But you're too grieved about your past that you probably can't see it too well."

From what de Piero have said, she suddenly feel a bit timid; spoking her past wasn't that a bit happy. But she tried to forget it little by little, making herself be busy and knowing some people who have lived now in this country.
She felt a pang on her heart, she don't know why but she suddenly feel a bit sad. Yet she doesn't show it in her form yet her eyes speaks of it. She gulped the lump in her throat as she looked at the guy in front of her. She took off a bit the google that was shielding her eyes from the dirt, making the googles be in her forehead.
She do know he was particularly right, she was still in grief of her past that she doesn't know what happens to the present; especially now that she have helped someone. It wa really a surprised for her, she have helped someone.
"Anou... what about you?" she suddenly asked looking up at him. "If... that mine of yours will take a great danger if an old mine is beneath us... what about you?" she finished, realizing what she said; she widened her eyes and looked at him a bit shocked. She was worried, for the guy whom he just know here for what seems an hour or so.

Leo rests an arm on his bent leg after he finished setting his device in the soil, then pushes himself up, slightly stretching as he did. Leo is usually a rather quiet person that often stays out of others' way, doing his own business and watches each and every soul that passes him.
But it's a different matter when he's with someone who actually notices him.
"Hm?" Leo stopped stretching as Rayl steals his attention. The lad then turns to this girl, tilting his head to the side a bit as he watches her every movement in detail on how she asks her question. Each and every gesture, ranging from her arched eyebrows, and her shocked eyes.
"Did I read you right?" Leo responds with a weak, though easy-going smile. "I told you, I read you faster than you expect. ...Or, I'm just lucky." Shrugging, the artist then focused into her eyes, thinking over her question. He paused for a while, and looked almost as if he's spacing out, but then suddenly grinned at her.
"I like to see my luck," he calmly responds, as if he's been on much more life-threatening events to be so casual with the possibility of danger exploding in his face. "Plus," Leo suddenly continues, maneuvering his hand at the back of his head and laughed nervously, "I'm not that important to the world. And I could waste less air and provide more oxygen for the others if I die. Won't that be wonderful?"
The laid-back artist then steps to the back a bit to allow the girl to move away from the spot. "Life awaits you." He said, gesturing her to walk away and far from the hole.

"Won't that be wonderful?"
Rayl looked away, gazing her eyes to the side; where she could not looked at the guy's eyes. "Won't that be wonderful?" she thought out, remembering what de Piero said awhile ago.
For someone who doesn't even know any single information about de Piero. Of course, it would not matter... but for someone that knows him even if its a couple of minutes and hours. It would matter, someone who know him even just for awhile; makes him a friend to somebody.
And that how Rayl would think about de Piero. She sighed as she suddenly looked at him, he was slightly backing away. Ah yes, the bomb was planted below.
She took a couple of steps away from the hole. She stood behind him though a bit far away from him.
