Leo revels on Kyori's curiosity of his art supplies. It's not every day he feels like he can talk about his passion, much less about the tools that governs this specific passion. "Mmn, paintbrushes are just one of the tools. Like how a dagger is one type of weapon." He offers an example.
The artist only chuckles as Kyori picks up one of the tools and questioned him how to paint using them. "You just slather them with paint and press it on a canvas. Their objective is the same, but they give different results." He went on to explain that painting knives gives a gritty or broken texture, best to paint things like mountains, or buildings, or large bodies of water.
As Leo begins showing Kyori how he cleans and sharpens the knife, he greatly enjoys her curiosity and enthusiasm. Her little outbursts of surprise are refreshing, it makes him want to show her more. However, considering their location, he could only show her a tiny window to his world.
In his rare excitement, Leo fails to see her reluctance in giving him her knife. He kept droning on the specifics needed to get a desired result, and once she handed her weapon to him, Leo looks at it over the light. "Interesting... This looks well-made. I can sharpen this without water, though it'll be better with some so I can see the chips better."
The artist immediately gets to work in cleaning Kyori's knife, chuckling as he heard her response about the waiter's hair being a nice pet. "Wouldn't it be? Suppose you need to stock on shampoos to feed it." He threads along with her joke, all while his eyes are focusing on cleaning her knife with the solution as best as he can. The solution was made with paint thinner though, so it doesn't do a good job at cleaning all the blood and gunk as well as he wanted.
