Leo stood there at the watch room of the lighthouse, staring out into the vast ocean and the setting sun. The wind that slightly blows in his skin is calming him, though he silently is disappointed in himself for leaving his canvas and his bag down there at the base of the light house, for being too lazy to climb up the stairs while carrying all of that weight.
So here he stood, trying to photocopy the image in his mind so he could transfer it in his canvas using his own style. It's not too hard to remember a scenery in Leo's case, only that it takes an incredibly long time to remember each and every detail of it.
Out of a sudden, a large pelican swooped its way inside the watch room, and pecked on Leo's brown hat. Shocked by this, the artist tried to shooed the bird off, but then it suddenly pulled the hat off of the artisan's head and tried to flew off.
"H-hey!!" Managing to clutch his hat, Leo tries to tug his possession back, but he didn't expect for the bird to be that strong...or he's too weak, that the fight for his hat pulled the lad OUT of the watch room, that he fell off the safety bar...
"Hah...!" Leo managed to take a strong grip of the safety bar, now hanging for his life at the edge of the lighthouse. He turned his head towards to where that bird flew, and noticed, his hat's not in its beak either. Looking down, he could see a brown object slowly falling down to the ground.
"Well, this is just perfect..."

Kyori headed out towards the lighthouse that was facing the ocean and the setting sun. She smiled to herself as she got closer, enjoying the light breeze and the soothing sound of the water. As she was walking around the lighthouse to get a better view, Kyori looked at the tall tower for a moment. She always thought these things looked kind of... strange. However, it was the sight of the lighthouse that made her gasp, it was the sight of some person hanging from the edge about to fall.
"Hold on!" She shouted from below to this person. "I'll help you!" With that, she ran around the lighthouse to find the stairs and made her way up at her speedy running pace. All the while she was a little worried that the person may not be able to hold on long enough for her to make it. She tried to run faster up the spiral of stairs until she reached the top. She burst into the main room and ran towards the window to help him.
"Hey, grab my wrists!" She called as she finally made it over to him. She reached out her hands and took hold of his wrists and started to pull, hoping she was at least strong enough to help this person back up.

A voice from below startled Leo as he tries to glance down, managing to see a dash of brown-orange slightly, circling the lighthouse. He was a bit grateful that somebody saw him that quickly, he thought it would go on at least an hour before somebody spotted him. ...IF he can hold for that long, at least.
He was slightly surprised this person emerged from the watch room that fast. "Aren't you worried if I ended up pulling you DOWN instead of the other way around?!" It wasn't normal for Leo to be this high-strung, but once this girl got a hold of his wrists and tries to pull him up, the artist can't help but to yell at her to stop.
"Okay, okay...wait," he takes in a deep breath, in an attempt to calm himself, then looks up to this girl again as soon as he got his mind intact. "Alright. If you pull my wrists, there's a high chance you'll fall off too. So, if you could, just reach out to grab a strong hold of my jacket a bit behind my shoulders, and try to pull me up."
There was a pause from him, now realizing he was ordering this girl, and that seems kind of rude to him. "...I apologize.. For yelling at you."

Kyori paused for a brief moment, then moved one hand behind his shoulder and grabbed his jacket, the other held a bit further up his arm, and she pulled. " Come on.." She uttered, not really talking specifically to him but to the action of pulling him back up. She wasn't afraid of heights but the idea that she might be pulled off this thing kind of freaked her out so she wanted to get him up as quickly as possible.

At the support he's getting, Leo is finally able to pull himself back to balance. He pushed his legs against the wall of the lighthouse to give him a boost upwards. The lad finally managed to get over the safety rail after a while with this stranger's help. He never thought he could release such a relieving sigh in his lifetime.
"Thank you!" he heaved out, searching for the nearest non-railed wall he could find just to lean himself against it. He wanted to say something more, but he's busy catching his breath after that near-death experience. The only audible words that escaped his tongue was, "...What's your name?"

"Well, I couldn't just leave you hanging to fall to your death." Kyori said bluntly as she looked at him. The whole thing would have been rather terrifying if she was in his position and she was not cruel enough to just leave a person there. However, she may still try to pick something off of him before leaving. After all, she did just save his life, she deserved a reward. "I'm Kyori, what's your name?" She asked back with a smile.

"Well, some people just like to keep others' lives out of their hands and walk off, so I thank you," Leo said in between his breaths, now calming down from the fright he just get. "Oh...Kyori, alright. Thanks for the save, Kyori," he stated after learning her name, but still leans onto the wall for support.
"Well, I'm sorry for troubling you. I'd like to give you something as a token of gratitude, though," he nodded, fishing something inside his pocket, "What would you like to have, Kyori?"
Leo is brought up thinking that everybody did things for material reasons, not out of the goodness in their hearts. Heck, he didn't even believe that bogus anymore. ...Maybe that's why he's so bored of life.

Kyori was a little surprised that he was offering her something as a reward. She just looked at him for a minute thinking that she could just accept something from him as a thanks but... where was the fun in that? She enjoyed picking people's pockets because it was a fun way to make a living.
"It's okay." She said after a minute with a cheerful smile. Maybe she wouldn't steal anything from him... today, anyway. "I'm glad you're safe though. Um.. You haven't told me your name yet." She continued to smile at him. She wasn't the kind of person that just liked to use people or that only focused on a reward for helping someone. Although getting things is nice, it's not always about what you have.

Leo paused as she refused his offer, his eyes now staring straight at her as he slowly removes his hand from his pocket. He seemed a bit distracted by her smile, and he made it clear he did. "That doesn't seem honest."
His blank face didn't make his statement seemed rather serious though, so he just moved on to answer her question, "Oh. My apologies. I'm Leo," he normally would stretch his arm out to offer a handshake, but he feels that his hands are still quivering by the shock and the safety bar's paint-layer pieces adorned his palms.
"But, truly. I really should give you something for the trouble. Would you like something you can use, or something you can keep?"

Kyori tilted her head to the side a bit and put her hand to the back of her neck like to stretch it at his comment. She looked to the side a moment then looked back at him and stood straight again, still with a smile.
"Nice to meet'ya, Leo." She said with a smile still. She never shook hands anyway so it didn't strike her thoughts at all when he didn't try to.
With his last comment and question, it seemed like he was almost insistent he give her something. "Uh... Well... You don't really have to... But... If you insist, perhaps you could buy me dinner?" She asked after thinking for a minute. She did still have a bit of money from the last pocket she picked but if he did buy her dinner then she wouldn't have to worry about who to pick to get some breakfast.

Leo watched her every movement sharply, from the way she stretched, to the way her eyes shifts, to the way she speaks. It's one of his quirks, and he was dubbed as creepy too many times, but through his surprisingly keen observation, he could accurately read and predict people...from what they do to what they want.
The artist only nods warily at her wish, then shakes his head slightly to get those analytical senses of his out of his system for a while to respond properly to Kyori. "That...that would be great," he replied unconsciously, before her question even processed itself in his mind. "If you need anything more, just tell me. I owe you my life," that came out rather abruptly than his usual slow tone.
Actually, he didn't intend to make it that clear. But after thinking much of it, she needs to know her gesture is taken as grand to him, so feels very in debt to her, though he doesn't show it through his expression much.
He stepped beside the stairs a bit, to give way for Kyori to climb down, and slightly motioned for her to take the lead. This girl strikes as strange to him, and his curiosity is certainly peaked by her. Though he's not such a friendly talkative guy to begin with, dinner is actually a good way to get to know Kyori.
She possess an aura around her that he can't ignore...something he wants to know, definitely. "After you."

Kyori just smiled at Leo as he said it would be great. She didn't know the area too well but they could just walk around a bit until they found something interesting. He seemed a bit peculiar, she thought, but she was often a bit more intrigued by the stranger folk anyway. Well, she also was one of the stranger folk.
She smiled with a hint of embarrassment at the next thing he said. Just because she walked into the right area at the right time and didn't want to see a person fall to their death because she didn't do anything, he owed her his life? Well, she could either milk it or leave it be and he seemed interesting enough to leave it be. However, she was becoming more interested in hanging around him for a little longer that night.
When Leo went to the stairs but made way for her to go down first, she just smiled at him for a moment. She then walked over and passed him, beginning to make her way down at a regular pace. Once she reached the bottom, she hopped off the last step and took a few quick steps away from the stairs then turned to face him, taking a couple slower steps backward, smiling again.
"So... Where are the restaurants in this place?" She asked with a bright smile, having been getting excited with every step down about the upcoming food she was going to eat.

As they both climbed down the spiral stairs to the base of teh lighthouse, Leo's busy calculating in his mind. It's rather easy to see since his pace is slower than normal and his eyes seemed a bit blank. The artist prefers to think of the outcomes if he does something, most of the time, he uses this skill of his when befriending people.
When they reached the base of the stairs however, his attention was pulled back towards Kyori when she landed on the floor, witnessing her every step until she turned around. Leo's still a bit far from the base of the stairs, due to his mind wandering around, but he quickens his step to catch up with her and exited the lighthouse.
"Well, there's plenty littering around the different countries here as far as I can remember. That depends on what you want to eat, Kyori." He moved a bit to the side of the lighthouse to pick up his bag he had placed there along with his canvas and its stander before walking back towards the girl, ready to move. "So, what kind of food do you have in mind?"

Kyori watched Leo as he went to pick up his bag, canvas and stand. 'An artist?' She thought, recalling for a moment a number of things Remi had told her of the world outside of Ârthera, one being about a painter friend he knew who saw the world in a way that most people never can.
She thought for a moment about his question. "I'm not really a picky eater." She said with a smile. "I'll pretty much eat anything." She chuckled a little while finishing that. "What do you like?" She asked him, still smiling, curious to try another person's tastes out.

"What I like is what most people would ignore, Kyori," Leo begins to walk around the girl to be on their way, but paused suddenly. The lad then turns around to head back to the base of the lighthouse and tries to look around it for something... After a while, he retreated back to Kyori, his eyes still holds that bored glint, but a bit darker now.
"It seems like my hat is missing..." It only takes him a few seconds to grief about his missing possession, mostly because it belongs to someone he longs to know. After that though, he's back on their way again, like that disappointment never exists.
"Have you tried walking on a vast field with your eyes closed?" The random question was asked. "Blind people are lucky."
