Sean stomped down the stairs and made a turn towards where he came from; the back door from the kitchen. So he made his way through the kitchen briskly, not making eye contacts with any of the workers there as he kept his eyes straight to the backdoor.
'I need to find my father... Not lounging around here. There's not much time left...' He has precisely 5 years left to draw out one particular person froma billion of others on this planet, and this kid is not stopping until he finds the man.
His steps are quick and his mindset is firm. It was raining earlier, so he needed shelter for a short while. Now that it's sunny again, Sean wastes no time to reach the back door and head out back in his search.

He guessed there's no way around it with this kid. There's something about a child's stubbornness that draws the line of when not to mess with them, so Zero kept quiet through the whole thing the kid just said.
Miki's kindness couldn't break through everyone, he supposed. A majority of people would be touched by her kindness and compassion, and Zero's glad about it. Only a small number of people just couldn't stand her ways, he suppose.
Zero stepped sideways once the kid seriously asked demanded him to, then followed his gaze to the strange little boy stomping down the stairs. He followed the boy from behind without a word as to not disturb him.
Once he notices the kid entering the kitchen did Zero look around to find something he could give the kid. There's a boxed sandwich with a carton of juice on the table, so Zero snatched it and ran up to the kid who's now opening the back door.
"Hey hey! Kid! Here, at least take these with you." He handed over the food to the child, genuinely worried how and where a little boy like him is planning to go. Once they passed the back door though, his ears picked up a familiar singing voice.
Turning his head around, he spotted Miki among the children, singing for them. "K...Kid!" When Zero spun his attention back to Sean since he didn't want the kid to miss this, but the little boy had already walked off without even a glance to what's transpiring.
Zero sighed as he shook his head towards the kid, then trudged his way towards he belongs; with Miki. He understands he can't force the kid to do what Miki and him wished for him to do, so Zero let the boy go and do his own thing, there's no point in helping someone who so greatly refuse to accept help to that extent. Perhaps the boy has his reasons, and that is the only thing that Zero hangs to in order not to pry the kid more.
So the young bounty hunter trudged his way to the angel, a frown in his face at first due to his encounter with Sean, but then slowly lifted his lips into a small smile by how happy Miki and the children are. Everyone, including the guests upstairs who opened their windows are smiling all the way through her song.
Zero is the only one walking and moving while Miki sings, everyone just stood there watching her, while he's making his way towards the group, spotted a coupleof baseball caps that everyone seems to be wearing on the ground beside the supplies and picked one up.
He stared down at the last one left on the ground. It's smaller in size and fit for a child, Zero was immediately reminded of Sean and his troubles. He inhaled deeply before sighing out, it troubles him that he can't help the kid. But maybe he's not meant to. It saddens him that the kid can't join them, but maybe it's not meant to happen.
'Everything will turn out okay soon.' He encouraged himself. 'I've done what I can.' So he turned his attention to Miki, who's now just finished singing, and everyone began to clap.
Zero raised up his baseball cap up in the air, and gave her a smile and a wave. "Lovely," he mouthed out towards her, trying to regain back the mood Sean had dragged down, and then wore the cap on his head tightly.

Duo had a big laugh of everything that's transpiring around him; Mitsuko's blush, the kids being excited to get kisses and hugs from the resident angel, the guests joining in the atmosphere, and even the little kids from the inn who decided to join the game. Heck, even the little puppy.
"Oh my goodness, what is happening?! Did God decided to transcend this simple baseball game to heaven-- oh look, we have an angel with us. Right." Duo remarked casually, chuckling as he tipped his baseball head to the only lady in white in the vicinity.
After Duo had done the trick with the baseball bat, he was glad he received so many positive feedbacks. "Ahahahah! Its all in the kick, my dear fans. All in the kick." He waved his hand to everyone in a humourously regal manner to make even more children laugh.
He raised a brow once Mitsuko claimed that she can chew gum, but he totally did not expect her to pop it. "Wow. That is so unladylike of you, but so very perfect for you to do so in this glory of the baseball moment! He slapped his knee as he laughed, arching his upper body forward slightly and snickered.
Duo then pulled his body straight again once the angel started singing, a smile on his face as he listened out to her and her beautiful voice serenading everyone within earshot. Like everyone else, he was chained to the ground and simply watched her singing there, smiling still.
Some who knew the song even sang with her, and Duo is impressed. He would grab his keyboard to join in, but it's inside and upstairs, he didn't want to miss anything listening to this song Mitsuko is singing.
Once she was done, Duo was the first to raise his hands, the baseball bat clipped tight between one of his armpits, and gave a great applause to the angel and the singers involved. It's really just too lovely to not react so overdramatically like that.

When the angel finished singing a rainbow appeared in the sky, it was almost as if the heavens were blessing everyone, and even though Sean wasn’t there with them he was getting blessed too. Troubled or not people will still get blessed regardless. Mitsuko was known to bring miracles to everyone, despite if they were uncomfortable with it or not, like Zero she too does all she can for people she knows and strangers.
And all you can do is try. The only way people lose out and face regret is when they don’t try. Mitsuko was glad that she could at least give out her positivity, kindness, and compassion to people so freely and those that it does touch she knows they will be grateful and appreciate it.
Mitsuko looked at Duo, and smiled at him and laughed when he told her that chewing gum was appropriate for this occasion. In the corner of her eye she saw her dear Zero having the deepest frown on his face. Now was her turn to comfort him since her mood has returned to normal.
“Excuse me for a second Duo, and children.” The angel made her way to Zero after he put the baseball cap on his head, and she embraced him in a hug.
“You tried Zero. I know you tried, you don’t even have to tell me what happened in the inn because I already know. As much as it bothers me that we can’t reach him, it doesn’t mean that we are bad people or he’s a bad kid, maybe there is someone better suited to help him out, and that understands his situation better then we could.
You know how you are suited to help me, protect me, love me, and comfort me when I cry? Your support suits me because you know and understand my situation.”
The angel locked foreheads with Zero and smiled at him so brightly, her eyes even showed her happiness and appreciation that Zero did try to help Sean.
“In Sean’s case I just know there is someone out here that can support him. People need different types of support. My support is motherly and tender; your support to me is one of a husband that shoots at all the nonsense that can cause me harm. Remember our spiritual marriage Zero?
We may not be married yet but we do have a spiritual marriage, and I appreciate you trying to help Sean. All we can do is keep our hearts open to him. Just because he doesn’t want our help doesn’t mean we’ll turn away from him. We’ll always have room for him”
“I love you okay?”
She leaned in close to his ear.
“Forever Zero. Now lets-“
Suddenly the woman that Mitsuko and Zero assisted on their anniversary to determine her gender of her baby tapped the angel on her shoulder. She had given birth to a beautiful healthy baby girl, and since Mitsuko was a nurse it looked like the baby had gotten a cold and the mom needed her help to give her a check up. Perhaps this was the heavens way for Mitsuko to help a baby. The angel turned around and smiled at the lady.

I’m sorry to interrupt you, but do you remember me? I’m the lady that was pregnant during Christmas time last year. I had heard you became a nurse since then as well as finding love yourself.
To be honest I could tell that you two were meant to be. Anyone could. I’m happy for you Mitsuko. My daughter has a bad cold and I was wondering if you can stablize her? I tried everything but she keeps crying and crying. Please help me.”
The first time mother had did everything she could for her child, and the safest course of action was for Mitsuko to take a look at this child.

“Oh of course I’ll help. The children here should be fine while I assist you. Please come with me.”
Mitsuko asked Duo nicely to keep watch and she also asked Zero to come with her as she stepped into her nursing role.
She asked Zero to come along because he needed cheering up and the angel figured to see a beautiful baby will help make him feel better, and perhaps give him some memories for when the angel took care of him as a child. The angel knew that he can be knocked down by his own emotions for quite sometime and she didn’t want him to be sad.
When they all reached upstairs so that Mitsuko can help this child the angel picked up the baby and took her temperature. It broke her heart to hear this baby cry because of how sick she is and the baby’s temperature was 103. Which is high fever. The angel remained calm and kept smiling at the child.
Babies can sense a person’s feelings so it was important for the angel to not panic.
“Okay here is what I’ll do. Giving your daughter a bath should help bring the fever down, You may also need to buy medicine that is proper for your baby that can help keep the fever under control. The reason why she is crying so much is because she is in discomfort and she’s letting you know this.
Even if you can’t pinpoint what she needs right away, as a first time mom it’s important to try things out , but do so safely. I can stabilize her for you though I truly don’t mind but I will show you how you can help your baby.”
Mitsuko sounded like a mom herself but she was gentle with her words to this first time mom. As an angel she started glowing as she held the child in her arms gently and the baby stopped crying, instead the baby started laughing since she felt the angel’s presence , and it is said that innocent babies have angels all around them playing with them.
“Since she is sick, my other advice is to keep holding her, she needs to feel her mother’s touch and comfort. Oh and sing to her. Like this.”
The mom was so touched that the angel was giving her parenting advice, and she smiled at Mitsuko.
The angel started to sing to the baby and she kept smiling at her. The baby looked at everyone and she noticed Zero and started laughing at him. Mitsuko had this mothering tone when she heard this precious baby laughing at Zero.
“This is uncle Zero, we met your mommy when she was pregnant with you, and look you are here in this wonderful world, you may have a cold now but you’ll be better and it seems like you are feeling better already since you are laughing at uncle Zero.”
The angel laughed too, as she helped the baby by putting her at ease.

When Zero sees his beloved walking towards him, his eyes mirrored his wish, 'Please hold me.' And she moved towards him, held out her arms and embraced him in a hug that he needed so strongly.
Zero didn't let her go, he just allows himself to feel weak for once and dropped his head on Miki's shoulder, hugging her tight. He really do needed to hug her at this moment, and he's thankful that she can read his energy so well without him having to explain anything.
He doesn't feel like talking, so he just stayed that way, hugging her, until she loosen her embrace slightly to lock foreheads with him and tries to cheer him up with reminders of their own relatioship.
Zero only nodded at her when she asked him if he remembers their spiritual marriage, and then smiled a bit at her advice regarding Sean. Slowly, the warmth in her hug is taking its effect on him and he could feel his mood lifted little by little.
His smile widens at her confession that she loves him, but then a woman appeared, resulting Zero to turn around and see who it is. Thanks to his sharp memory, he can recall who the woman is before she even introduced herself.
His eyes then fell towards the baby in her arms, surprised if this is really the same baby that Miki had predicted onto a year before. Zero followed the angel back into the inn and went upstairs.
He watched silently from the sidelines, marvelling how Miki shifted into her nurse mode and checked the baby with such ease and dexterity. His eyebrows knitted at how the baby is crying and he began to block out everything once he heard those cries.
'It huuurrttss...! Waaahhh!!' And suddenly, his own cries overlapped the baby's, his loud boisterous cries when he was younger. 'Nobody wants me around! I'm Zero, the useless!!'
'No you're not, Zero.. I want you around.'[/i]
He shifted from his standing position at the reminder of the memory, now blinking wildly to examine himself if he unintentionally cried. Thankfully, he did not, so he focused back to Miki, the woman and the baby, just in time to see her glowing and the baby stopped crying.
Not surprisingly, the baby began laughing, cheerfully even. He stared at the newborn little girl, taking himself back to the moment where Miki had made him laughing himself when he was younger. She was taking care of him that time, when she herself was so young too.
When the baby looked at him did Zero was brought back to reality, blinking curiously at her as she started laughing at him. He turned to look at Miki once she introduced him as Uncle Zero. She's using that same tone she used on him a decade ago when they were children too.
Zero approached Miki while still eyeing the child, and slowly he lifted his hand to touch the baby at her cheek, but it caught his finger on the way and held it strongly inbetween her tiny fingers.
"Wha..?" Confused how a mere baby is holding him so securedly that he can't even slip his finger away, Zero did not expect the baby to be laughing at him again. "Ha-ha, very funny."
He said to the baby, who gurgled and giggled at him again, which loosens up the strains on Zero's face in a moment's time. "You think you're so cute? Huh? You think you're so cute?!" And he moved his other hand to pinch her cheek, but her other tiny hand ended up catching another finger of his.
"Wh?!" He tried to pull his other hand away, but it's completely trapped under the baby's strong grip. Now both his hands are useless now that the baby got a hold of his fingers. "...Miki, the baby is mocking me." He complained, right on cue with the baby's laughter.

As Mitsuko held Zero in her arms, and his head was now on her shoulder she started to whisper comforts to him in his ear. She knew that Zero needed comforting and needed her support so she had reminded him about their relationship and how they help each other. She ran her fingers through his hair after removing the baseball cap from his head for this short moment, and the way she ran her fingers through his hair was just like how she did it ten years ago.
“Remember what I used to tell you Zero when you were little and you were unhappy at times that you cried? It has to get harder before it gets better baby. Nothing in life is ever a quick fix no matter how hard we wish for it, because things can get tiring for us. Sean will get the help he needs eventually, and when he gets older maybe he’ll remember us and come see us again.”
“At the end of the day though we know that we tried. In one way Zero when I was taking care of you I raised you in my own way and what I taught you is never forget to try. If you don’t try you never know what could have been. Everything is going to be okay Zero. I mean look at us. It got harder before it got better for us didn’t it?”
Mitsuko kissed the top of his head like she did when he was little.
“Now we are together again, and while we will have our hard times we are not alone to get through them. We don’t have to walk alone ever again. I’m holding your hand throughout the hard times, and reminding you that you have me. Zero you are worth everything to me. I have always told you that I always need you around. I want you around. You bring me smiles to my day everyday, and I can’t ever picture my life without you Zero.”
“I haven’t met someone that has loved me so much like you have Zero. Even though you are grown now I feel that there are moments that we need to latch on to each other just like this. I need to hold you as often as I can, I know you get busy but I need to hold you, I just need to take a moment to hold you. Even if it’s not physically Zero… I just close my eyes when you are not around and I picture myself holding you.”
“Why don’t we adopt a special way to say I love you? I heard this in a movie once but it was so beautiful to not apply it in our own life I have been waiting for the perfect time to say I love you in this way, and now is a good time as any.”
“I have my arms around you and I love you.”
The angel hugged Zero tighter and then kissed him gently after that. Soon after they had went to assist the sick baby and her mother, and inside the inn things were starting to get more cheery all because of the bundle of joy that was playing with Zero. The angel laughed when Zero had said that the baby is mocking him.
“Oh Zero, she is not mocking you she is just playing with you. Look at how happy you are making her.”
The baby giggled at Zero and smiled as she looked at him. She then looked over at her mom and the angel. The baby knew that Mitsuko was an angel though because there is a saying that goes that: When a child is first born there is a guardian angel with that baby playing with her. Zero was making this child very happy, as she was holding onto his fingers.
The baby could feel Zero’s gentleness and babies interact with emotion, touch, and sound so when Zero asked if she was cute the baby responded by giggling.
“And babies are very sensitive with touch, most commonly babies get tickled just by a simple touch on their cheek, their tummy and even their hands. Interacting with them through touch is so important because it is a part of their interaction with you. And smile~”
The angel then spoke to the mother about the child’s medication and nodded, and also set up a little baby bath, but as she was doing so the angel got a phone call. Thankfully the angel learned to multi task though. Especially now since nurses are on call all the time.
She did however tell the baby’s mom that she can go ahead and get started with gently bathing her baby as she takes this call.
So her office line was ringing and the light was flashing.
Mitsuko answered the phone in a gentle tone but it was professional as well, and soon her phone conversation between her and her colleague began..
And this conversation gives people a glimpse at how quickly she has to act and work together with her team, to not only make sure that people are well, but to also make sure that they are safe too from people that can hurt them.
“Hello, Mitsuko Cross, oh hey Joe can I call you back?
“Actually Mitsuko I am going to head into a meeting so would it be alright if I give you an update now?”
“Absolutely go ahead.”
“So do you remember the young boy that we recently put in our outreach program? I have a concern. The parents may want to contact him, and he came to me this morning with this worried look on his face.”
“But the parents can’t even touch him Joe. If they try they can get arrested either by the police or by the bounty hunters and when we first acted right away to help this wonderful boy, I let Eve know that we may need her to enlist someone, to work together with the police. Police and bounty hunters have a common goal and that is catching fugitives which is why I made the call to Eve and to my dad.”
He just looks so scared Mitsuko, and that fear in his eyes… I feel like panicking. I’m not well versed in this like you are.”
“I know you are new Joe but don’t worry okay? Everything will work out. Do you have a pen and paper with you? If not please get one. I’m going to give you my nursing registration number, just so you have it for your records that I am the nurse on this case. My number is 99115680.”
“Oh Mitsuko what do we do to calm him?”
“Refer him to one of the counselors on site and please comfort him and let him know that he’s safe. Okay? What he has been through I have no words Joe, but don’t forget the safety okay? We have camera’s all the way around so his parents can’t come on the property. We can’t panic we have to remain strong for him, and remind him that he didn’t do anything wrong in asking us for help, yes you take care now bye bye.”
The angel hung up the phone and she saw that the baby was all cleaned up thanks to her mother and she smiled.

The mother looked over at the angel, who now seemed bothered by something, but at the same time she knew almost automatically that the angel would put it out of her mind for now, just so she can help others. The mother soon held her baby and asked her:
“Are you alright Mitsuko? You seem a little stressed out after that phone call, but at the same time you are doing your best to keep calm right? I appreciate that very much, since it would affect my baby so thank you for calming yourself, how about if I make tea or something?"
“It’s the least I could do. Oh yes rumor has it that you started a food drive right? I have something to donate too, and besides I need to take my baby for a walk. I’ll be back one minute.”
The young mother smiled at Mitsuko and after she changed her child’s clothing she went downstairs. When she got downstairs, the first thing she did was donate into the food bank that Mitsuko started. She was glad to see it thriving.[/font]

“Thank you very much for your concern, but I’m alright. While there are so many things going through my mind from that phone call I know what I must do. What I must do is this. Is to remain strong, especially when you are fighting in someone’s corner. I would never abandon anyone.”
Mitsuko just continued to smile and when the lady stepped out for a minute, the angel started to go through some of her files that she had, and started to go over the case. She did however take a moment to collect her thoughts though. Being a nurse you see some very heart breaking situations, which people go through. But just knowing that she has the capability to turn things around for a person in need of help, this makes her job worthwhile.
The angel also set up a prescription for the little baby in order to help with her cold, just in case she has a relapse. As an angel she added her healing abilities into the baby’s medicine so that she can heal quicker from this cold, and have a safer recovery. When babies get sick, parents have to keep a very watchful eye on them, especially since a baby’s immune system isn’t as strong.
After getting the prescription set up she opened up a case file of the little boy that she was helping, she went over it twice, and then she stood up and hugged Zero but instead of asking him to make her feel better she had asked if HE was feeling better.
Zero was always her main concern and when he gets knocked down by his emotions the angel knew what she had to do for him—and that was making sure he was okay.
“How are you feeling now Zero? Stay strong okay? Guess what I have to do the same thing right now, so if I see you with your strong eyes it gives me the strength to be strong too. We hold each other up, and that won’t ever change. I need you and you need me. It’s as simple as that.”
The angel touched noses with him and then went back to her office desk, and then a puppy the same puppy that was joining in the fun earlier came rushing in.
“Hahah hello sweetie pie, having fun with Duo and the children? Wait haven’t I seen you before-! Oh that’s it! Zero this is the puppy that stole my sketch book, a year ago. I was running away from the rude prince remember?
Well before that I was looking for a puppy that had ran out with my sketchbook. So in a sense that puppy led me to you. Since I see you so often sweetie you must have an owner right? Let me see your tag.”
Colt.
That was what was written on the puppy’s tag, but he must have gotten separated from his owner, so Mitsuko said to herself that she would take care of him until they can find his owner, but because the angel was in love with Zero and he was her other half, she asked him cutely:
“Zero, can we keep him~~~ For now? He can be our pet for a while. Please say yes~ If you say yes I’ll give you jellybeans~”
The puppy barked in agreement, and sat down obediently..

Zero stayed quiet through the whole time as Miki comforts him, pleasantly happy by the attention her received from her. True, the incident with Sean kind of hurts Zero, but it's the moments with Miki that truly counts for him, because she was there when he needed her.
He eyed her when Miki reminded him of the advise she told him when they were small, responding with a small nod. He had to smile when she pulled him down so she could kiss the top of his head. His smile grew wider with each of her encouragements, and soon into a full-fledged grin as he reached for her head now, and kisses the top of her head.
"..Thank you, Miki." He said in an almost quiet manner, resembling a whisper even, but it reaches deep because he really is thankful for her even just being there. Smiling gently at her idea to adopt the movie's style, he held her close to him and repeats her, "I have my arms around you, and I love you."
Now with him feeling better with his spirit restored, Zero had followed Miki inside the inn to help the mother and her unhealthy baby. Babies are such strange creatures for Zero, mostly because it was rare for him to encounter one. Living in Veyyard, of course it's rare, it's such a dark country to raise a baby in.
So for him to be seeing this baby laughing at him as he tries to pull his hand back from her grip, Zero wondered if all babies are like this. He has no experience whatsoever in handling babies, so he's pretty much clueless and confused.
Miki had provided him with an explanation of how babies mainly respond to though, and it's brand new information for Zero. "Oooohh..." He then stared in wonder at the baby, blinking once in a while at her.
He watches her move and speak as she settled one by one of her duties, in a controlled and calm manner. Zero only smiled at her in the background, just stepping back to see how she does her work and overhearing her conversation over her call.
Just by listening to her part of the call, Zero can pretty much tell what's up; it's another abusive case. Inhaling in a deep breath, the young bounty hunter closes his eyes hopes, almost inwardly praying, that the boy in trouble will be alright.
'He'll be okay.. Miki's handling his case.'
Even the mother that she helped earlier noticed the faint outline of Miki's troubled expression despite how well she hides it for the baby's sake. When the woman left, Zero approached Miki as she goes over her files, holding her by her shoulders and sort of gently massages her to calm down her nerve and stress.
"Oh no, don't you dare shift your attention to me, how are YOU feeling, Miki?" In truth, he's a lot better now, thanks to her. So he asks her instead, because he's at the background the whole time as Miki does her job. "Hang in there, it's all gonna get better soon."
Suddenly, a little dog came in, attracting Miki's attention, as well as Zero's. "Ooohhh yeah, I remember this little guy.." Kneeling near the puppy, Zero then waited for Miki to read his name. Though, once Miki actually wheedled at him to keep the puppy, Zero stares at her unbelievably.
"Yes, you're freaking cute, Miki." He started, holding her side of the face with a smile. "But we can't keep something that's already belonged to someone. That person might really miss Colt right now--" His mature words at least to him paused mid-way when Miki bribed him with jellybeans if he said yes.
"...Miki, that is an underhanded tactic." He said with a sigh, and took another look at the puppy, this time giving it a long stare. "Fine, we can ONLY keep it FOR A SHORT WHILE if we can't find its owner. Since its here, I bet the owner's living around here.."
Zero's not very good with animals actually, but Miki is, and thanks to her, animals are even hanging around him sometimes. "Colt, don't cause Miki troubles, okay? She has enough in her hands."

When Zero made his way to Mitsuko to comfort her after that heart wrenching phone call, she smiled at him. Now Zero was the one comforting her and so she looked at him lovingly. Through the love that was shown in her blue eyes that she had for Zero, you could also see the gentleness she had as well, despite her worried feelings she had in regards to her case.
Handling abusive cases can be hard to stomach, because innocent people do suffer, and almost always the people that are victimized are made to believe that it is their fault, as to why they are abused in the first place, and they are made to feel that way by their abusers. Truth is the victims are not at fault, and getting help and support can be such a hard task to accomplish.
Especially when the abuse happens in a person’s family and behind closed doors. Let’s say you had an abusive mother and father and the abuse happens behind closed doors, but in front of friends and family the abusers are seen as these wonderful people because of the positive impression that they give.
THIS is when things can get very sticky for the victim.
Because of the positive impression that the parents would give off to their friends and family and behave in a manner like they have done nothing wrong, then if the victim comes out about the abuse they will be seen as a liar, because the family cannot see the problem or just decides to pick one side and stick with it instead of using their own minds, or if they do see the truth then they don’t want to admit to it.
But then again this is when true colors show, and this is when people can know whose there for you and whose not.
Things can get manipulated so badly for the little boy that Mitsuko doesn’t want him to feel like he’s alone through this. The angel didn’t want the little boy to feel helpless or be told that people are going to be there for them but decides to turn their backs on him.
Everyone has their own mind and they can make their own decisions but victims need compassion. They don’t need to be attacked. They needed to be treated with respect and have someone in their corner fighting for them.
Mitsuko was determined to do just that for the little boy so as Zero’s comforting her and standing by her, a she does her job she looks at the case file again for all the notes she took, as well as evidence that she has personally seen. Even if the abuser starts to lie to cover up their tracks, the police are extensively trained to know whose lying and who is telling the truth.
Again abuse cases vary with each victim and some are more horrific then others but at the end of the day abuse is abuse and it is not acceptable. There are no excuses for it.
Even teachers can tell if something is wrong in the home. Teachers know their students personality well and if they feel something is off, and then they have every right to step in even if they just suspect abuse, it is their job to report it as well. If it is found out that a teacher suspects abuse of their student, but didn’t report in then they can lose their job as well.
Mitsuko smiled more as Zero comforted her, that she leaned her face close to him where they are now touching foreheads, and gave him a sweet kiss before the puppy showed up. When Zero took a hold of her face gently and told her that the owner must really be missing the puppy she just smiled.
She knew that she couldn’t keep the puppy forever but she at least hoped they could keep him for a while.
The angel bribed Zero with jellybeans, and he complied.
“No Zero it’s not an underhanded tactic it is called smart strategy. Hahahaha! And it is my strategy that I have with you because you can’t say no.” Mitsuko winked at Zero and touched her nose with his that they almost looked like a butterfly, so she called these moments ‘butterfly kisses’.
The angel gave Zero his jellybeans like she promised; he didn’t like the black ones so she made sure that there were no black jellybeans present. Zero did love the red ones though.
Mitsuko then heard the puppy barking in response to Zero and lay down next to him where Zero stood. The angel then started working again, and the first thing she had to do was call the parents for an interview. She wasn’t a social worker, but she did have training as a bounty hunter. Besides she wanted to get to the bottom of this.
Before she could continue on, there somebody making a scene downstairs, and thankfully the children were all outside playing and focused on baseball, so that way they were not in this chaos innocently. The angel took Zero by the hand and they quickly ran downstairs together to see the commotion. Zero is her support system.
“ Enough. There is no need for you to make a commotion. I know where your son is but I am not at liberty to disclose that information I do have a few questions for you. Come with me.”
Yes the person that was making the commotion is the boy’s mother.
Just by her making an almost violent commotion downstairs tells Mitsuko a lot about this person’s character. This wasn’t a commotion of someone that was worried about her child. This was a commotion of someone that would drag her son back in two seconds flat, and putting him in more danger.
The angel looked into Zero’s eyes indicating for him to stay with her as she gets to the bottom of this. The angel already got the son’s side of this story now she had to get the mother’s side. When they came back into Mitsuko’s office she closed the door. Even colt was growling.
“Easy boy, it’s okay.”
The angel sat down at her desk, and put a chair on the opposite side for the abusive mother to sit on, while she asked Zero sit on a chair by the angel’s side.
“You know why you are here right?”

The mother’s arrogant exterior was clearly shown as Mitsuko interviewed her without a second thought. Her body language alone was a red flag to the angel but for right now Mitsuko had to get as much information from the mother as possible.
“NO. I don’t know, if you want me to just give you a confession to make you happy then I will. But I think you are already judging me and sitting there writing down those notes! Since you have your education in nursing and license in working with those so called bounty hunters-“
The mother’s dangerous anger was so apparent that she even started swearing and blaming everyone for taking her child away.

The mother started to describe all the details of when the abuse started. As Mitsuko listened to every single detail she put a hand to her forehead in disbelief and continued to take notes. Eventually Mitsuko stopped the interview and just said she had to go get another piece of paper, and she went for a walk to catch her breath, she took Zero with her of course for moral support This lesson plan was turning into a lesson for that abusive mother.
The lesson was that every action has a consequence. If you abuse anyone then you can be put in jail for it, maybe even life imprisonment. For this little boy someone has to stand up for him and that person is Mitsuko. In this case she had to intervene since this child is very innocent and children need people to protect them. She went back into the room after a while and re asked certain questions again because she couldn’t believe what came out of this mother’s mouth.
“I never hate anyone, but how in god’s name can someone do that to their own child?! I dislike saying this…. And this isn’t intended to hurt your feelings.. but your son is in a better place right now where someone is not hurting him. He should never see you until he’s strong and an adult so that he can say no to you, and strong enough to protect himself. I love all life.
But it’s people like you that hurt the balance and trust of others. Do you have any idea how this situation hurts me on the inside? Do you have any idea about the fears it puts in me for my own child? Whenever I have one?”
“About whose out there that does this to innocent children? We never expect abuse to occur inside a family unit these are the cases that can truly hit home. How in the world can you sit there and not show any remorse for what you did to your little boy?
You're busy sitting their blaming everyone else and yet you don’t take any accountability for what you did. Your son did nothing wrong. A child is supposed to feel safe with his mother, not live in fear and wonder what is the next thing that they are going to do, and then they get hit for it.”
Mitsuko saw that the mother about to open her mouth and she stopped her.
“Stop. Stay quiet because I am going to educate you alright? If your son was standing next to me right now what would you say to him? What would you say to your son if given the the opportunity? How would you explain what you did to him?!”
There was a passionate fire burning in Mitsuko’s heart, when it came to children she always defended them and protected them. The mother answered Mitsuko’s question by saying I don’t know he’s only a little boy.
“That’s right! He is only a little boy and you did that to him! If someone did that to my son I would make sure that the police did everything they could to get justice for him. Say something to your son right now. He’s on the line right now with the counselors. Apologize to him.”
The mother stayed quiet.
“Say your sorry to your son.”
At this point Mitsuko’s voice starts to crack and she started to tear up, she held onto Zero’s hand the whole time. “Say your sorry to your son.”
“You know what? I’m done talking to you. How could you to this to a little boy? A child…? Your baby how can you do this to him?! You are so selfish in not apologizing. For once can’t you put your child first? I guess I was wrong.”
Eventually the mother was taken away and Mitsuko requested to see the little boy. The little boy was brought in and she gave that child a big hug. “Everything is okay no one is going to hurt you ever again.” The little child embraced her tightly.
“These things should never happen Zero… these things should never happen… I’ll figure out a better way to protect these children soon. They need a change. They need to feel valued and loved..”
In the future when Mitsuko becomes a mother she will make sure that no one hurts her child, she will give her child all the love that he deserves.
