She paused from walking as she looks at the bomb meters away from the boy and look down at the crunch of snow below her feet. If the bomb is sensitive from the movements, they shouldn't be walking too hastily in the place; it might affect the bomb. She frowned and shook her head she doesn't need the negativity of her mind on this situation.
Both Leo and Rayl knew that the kid's safety is their priority on this event.
She walked beneath the snow covered ground slowly and surely, she was now close at the boy and stood in front of the lying kid. She look up at the owl and nodded. "I'll save your friend..." she murmured quietly, slowly picking the kid up, every now and then glancing at the bomb near them.
She pivot her body and look at Leo in an assuring smile. Her feet took steps towards the brown haired guy meters away from them. She walked in slow motion as to not detonate the bomb from her movement. She knew for herself that she was anxious and nervous at this time. But looking at Leo makes her courage rose, looking at those encouraging eyes.
She exhaled the breath she was holding after she was now in front of Leo. She looked down at the kid then to Leo, an assuring, relief small smile was plastered on her face. Though, a still heavy feeling resides in her heart.
"What to do next, Leo?"

Leo balled his hands into fists as he watched the assassin moving towards the boy to save him. All he could do now is to stand his ground and hoped that nothing bad will befall onto both Rayl and the child she's trying to save. He held his breath in when the assassin had successfully closed in on the boy and reached out to pick him up.
"Yes.." he breathed out as he saw her move in utmost stealth. Leo is still tensed up even when Rayl is now slowly approaching him with the boy in his arms, and when she finally reached him without much of a problem, Leo heaved out a relieving sigh. She's standing right in front of him now, with the kid in her arms in between the both of them.
"Alright. Now you just need to protect this child," he said gently, sliding his arms under the boy, picked him up in his own arms and settled the boy on the snowy ground carefully. Standing back up to his full height, he then held onto both of Rayl's hands and closed his eyes, his eyebrows creasing in a sort of unexplained worry of what's about to come.
"I need you.... to freeze me." He finally said, slowly opening his eyes to face her. "My body temperature needed to be as low as possible, because I need to approach the bomb and cut off the wires without detonating it." Since the bomb itself is sensitive to heat, Leo's natural body heat would probably disturb it and it might explode.
He then lets go of the assassin and unties the scarf around his neck. Then, the artist opens his jacket, undressing himself so all the things that's been entrapping his body heat is stripped. Leo puts his jacket and scarf over the kid to warm him up from the snow, only now wearing a simple t-shirt and his usual pants on. The cold is definitely stinging his skin till it even pricked his bones, but he needed to get even colder.
Facing back towards Rayl, Leo nodded. "Okay. I'm ready. Freeze me just enough so that I'm at my lowest temperature but still able to move." He asked of her, determined.

Rayl stood there surprise at Leo's revelation about his plan at the bomb. She stood there astounded still not moving her body and doind any actions. She furrowed her eyebrows in deep confusion as she stared at his serious, yet worried look. Her lips wore a thin line; she doesn't like anything from his plan.
Freezing him over stands a chance of him being in a state of coma or killing him.
"Isn't there any other solution into this, Leo?" she mumbles, looking away; her hair covering her face and the emotion she lets out.
But like her... he was as stubborn as she is. And she will give him a point. Leo can be the only one who can diffuse the bomb. He's the only solution into this problem.
A soft sigh escapes her lips, looking at him straight in the eye. "I'll never forgive myself if you die because of this..." she murmured, walking towards him. Suddenly hugging him close to her, her body emanates the cold temperature to low his body temperature. "So you better be alive after this, Leo..." she added, her eyes glow into a light hue of blue. She could feel the cold temperature from his body, after checking the low temperature of his body into hers. She pulled away from the hug, looking down; she doesn't have the courage to look up at him at this state.
"Go... I can only low your body temperature at a short mount of time..." she replied. "After the five minutes... the temperature might continue to low, until you can't handle it..."

He knows Rayl will not like his plan, but there isn't any other way. He stayed quiet as she displays her discomfort and worry of the plan, and just waited for her to understand the logic that it is the only option to take. Like he expected, she finally gave in and agreed, adding that she will never forgive herself if he died.
"I won't." Leo said in certainty. There is no room for doubt now. If there is, then he wouldn't be able to handle this task. He needed to do this with confidence, and with Rayl's help and trust in him, he will. He opened his arms as she took a step closer to him, already knowing what she will do, and welcomed her in an embrace.
Closing his arms around her, he can feel the prickling cold atmosphere emanating from her body enveloping him. Leo clenched his jaw closed tight when he can feel that he's practically freezing now. A short breath got caught in his throat as he tried to held the freezing pain back in, but a short "G-geh.." escaped his breath. He could feel his limbs shaking in cold right now, so as Rayl stepped away from him and looks down, he's glad.
His nose is probably blue now, frostbitten, and the tips of his fingers and toes as well. Still, he clenched his jaws close when Rayl explained that he has 5 minutes to disarm the bomb. Passing that time limit means death. He didn't replied anything, because he's clenching his teeth together due to the extreme coldness, and once she had done warning him, Leo made his way towards the bomb.
Each of the step he takes is quite painful, like a sword being thrust through the soles of his feet up to his knees. Its difficult, but he's going to make it. Slowly, step after step, the artist finally reached his bomb and he slowly lowers himself so he's kneeling in front of the dangerous thing. He fished something out of his pocket, a small scissor of sort with a screwdriver attached at the back of it.
Despite his constantly quivering hands, Leo managed to open the screws, gaining immediate access to the wires. His eyes gazed through the many colorful cables before slowly reaching in his scissors inside, trembling as he does so. He can't move as quickly due to how badly he's frozen, but he's certainly doing things right, snapping apart a few wires in turn with one another that only he knows, and finally, after cutting a final piece of golden wire, the bomb let out a draining sound as if a computer is being shut down.
He'd done it.
Leo had been keeping his consciousness strong so far, and finally after he had finished, he was tempted to let it go. But not now, he needs to let Rayl knows first that it's all over. Frigidly turning around while he's still on his knees, Leo only managed to glance at Rayl and was about to signal her, but his body refused to work anymore as it collapsed on the white snow, violently shivering.
Despite his body not working, Leo is wide awake. He refused to pass out now, since loosing consciousness while being frozen will not result in something good. So he stayed awake, forever thankful that his buzzing mentality is what keeps him from loosing consciousness.

She sensed him looking at her and turned to where the bomb was. Once she saw him kneeled in front of the bomb, she continued counting in her thoughts. She was damn worried of what the outcome will be. She's afraid... and the ring is the evidence of it.
She could hear the continuous beeping of the bomb as Leo tried to detonate it at his condition. She sighed, patting her heart gently; trying to maintain her calm look, she winces a bit.
Four minutes and thirty seconds... thirty-one and she suddenly hearts the draining sound of the bomb. Her eyes widen, does that mean?
She started to talk slowly towards Leo, never minding the pain inside her. THis his body collapsed, "Leo?!" she called out, running towards him as she saw him quivered continuously due to his low temperature. She kneeled, holding both his cheeks into her palm, transferring the cold temperature back to her; and his warmth back to him.
Yes,Rayl uses an exchange temperature for the both of them. The place doesn't have warmth, unless having used some heat that radiates thru fire.
She inhales and exhales, as her body emits a water vapor due to the warm and cold temperature radiates in her body. Looking down at Leo, she have successfully transferred her warmth that is solely Leo's temperature.
His success from diffusing the bomb was hers, for staying and keeping his warmth into her body.
"It's alright now, Leo... you made it," she murmured quietly. [/color]

Rayl hovered in his sight only after a few moments after he collapsed, and the artist had never felt that relieved. His face is too freezing cold that he can't even feel her hands touching his cheeks, then very slowly, that gentle coldness of her hands finally could be felt.
He could practically feel the warmth rushing inside his body, although he can't understand how. 'Wasn't she supposed to freeze me earlier....? How..' His eyes clearly seemed confused and he seemed to wish to question her about it, but he's too tired to open his jaw.
He did, however, gave a small smile to her despite how tired he is. Leo then suddenly remembered the child and he tried to signal her to Sean's direction with his eyes, wishing she understands what he's trying to say.

Rayl sighed heavily after she have done transferring his heat back to him. She sat there at the cold, snowy ground, heat vapor evaporating at the heat that leaves her body. At least, she was fine and well that she got back half of her temperature. Her pale face turned into a tint of red, especially in her cheeks.
Relief that Leo is fine, she look at him and then to the kid lying a meter away from them. She nodded, though she was still at his side. "We also need you to get back... at the house to take a rest as well.." she explain, nudging him softly to take an action. "Ne Leo... can you move or stand up?" she questioned. She, too, is still resting to get her temperature and energy back, which is coming back easily.
She look away, suddenly remembering the bomb. "I... I really am worried... awhile ago," she suddenly let out, out of the blue; surprisingly, letting out what she really felt awhile ago. "I was terrified... of what outcome -negative or positive- might happen."

Now feeling that some warmth is entering his body, Leo can freely move small parts of his limbs, like his fingers. He twitched them a bit, trying to see if they would move under the command of his brain. They did.
Happy with this, he nodded slightly by the time Rayl had told him to rest at her house. He tried moving his elbows, shoulders, head, but only managed to twitch them at most. So when Rayl asked him if he could move, Leo relaxes his jaw to speak properly, "Yes, I think I could. ...After a few minutes or so, my body's still half frozen."
He tried to shift his head a bit to look at the kid's direction, but the snow is too thick for him to get a clear look while he's laying down like that. So Leo gave up craning his neck and just relaxes on the snow, shifting his attention to Rayl now, just in time as she looked away.
Her sudden words surprised him, and his eyelids widened slightly at her confession that she's worried of him. "..Why?" he croaked out, his frozen blue lips had slowly regained its original color.
Now its Leo's turn to turn his gaze away, asking himself the question that crawled out of his mouth. Piecing the puzzles together and attempting to theorize the answer himself, Leo's blue eyes then shifted back towards Rayl once he came up with one. The curious urgency died dramatically from his gaze.
"...Thank you." He whispered out, the water vapour from his breath curls up in the air. "It's... ..it's been a while since someone....cared about me that much.." He let out quietly, now recalling that he did caught how alarmed she was when they stepped out of the house, but decided to not ask her about it in hope that she will tell him herself.
And Rayl did.
"Rayl, I... I really can't imagine myself doing this thing alone." He motioned with his eyes towards the general direction of the bomb. "Really, thank you so much."

Surprised at the question Leo said, she only let herself look away from his gaze. Why? Because little did she know, she's starting to get dependent from him. The emotion of caring to someone have passed unto him, breaking the cold-barrier that she build up in her heart, a very long time ago.
Hearing him thanking for such caring, she only nodded quietly and sighed as she look at him and smiled timidly; worry still remains. Though, she winces in pain and exhaled at the warm feeling that escaped in her body. She inhaled and exhaled, calming her heart that is beating so fast.
She look at those blank blue eyes and shook her head; she knew those look that wants nothing but answer to the questions that he sees. "It's nothing..." she breathed out. The vapor that escaped her whole body, were the remaining heat that she have captured just to let Leo be cold awhile ago.
Those were the warm remnants Leo have.

As he laid there, half-frozen on the snow, this wonderful young woman here sitting right beside him always pulls his mind in a state of wonder. Leo stared up at Rayl in silence. Yes, she's the assassin who scared the heck out of him in the mines. Yes, she's also the same ice maiden who saved him time and time again.
Yes. She's also the woman who confessed to him...in a way.
Leo was too confused back then to realize the amplitude of her feelings, but somehow, right in this moment, it's so clear for him to see. Just as Rayl breathed out that it's nothing, Leo moved swiftly.
He didn't know how, or why, and for once...he doesn't care of those answers, or even bother to think about it. All that he knows now is he pushed himself up, his elbow helping him in doing so, and greets her lips with his.
He's kissing her, properly now. Based on physics, when something warm meets something cold, the heat would automatically be transferred from the warm object to the cold, so the whole temparature would be balanced. So that both of them would be in equal warmth. Despite not purposely thinking of anything, that once concept enters Leo's head during the kiss.
Then, the artist pulls away, breathing out through his mouth and vapor is evident when he does so. His eyes are set to hers now, wide and curious, in contrast to his usual blank and bored look.
"I understand now...." He whispered in his breath, his tone barely hiding a pitch of amazement, like he just discovered one of the secrets of the universe. Eyes still fixed onto Rayl's, Leo then said with, most probably, the widest smile he could have ever shown on his face...
"I love you."

She sighed, trying to calm her thoughts as both of them were still at the frozen place. She suddenly look at the sleeping kid, wondering if he is fine.
But looking back at Leo made her heart flutter, but her heart suddenly beats faster and Leo have leaned in to give her a kiss. It blew her, as she follows the flow; closing her eyes and kissing back. She could feel the remnant of warm fades into her... she could feel the comfortable feeling she have everytime she's in peace. Just at this kiss she could feel so free.
Have Leo known this? If so, he have done a great job into it. The kiss ended as both pulled back, her eyes fluttered open slowly as she could hear the rapid beating of her heart at what happened.
She furrowed her eyebrows and look up at him, "Understand?" Rayl look at Leo with his wide and curious gaze, she found it odd and new to him.
Her eyes widen when Leo have said those words. She look down, as a smile was plastered on her face. She could not believe it that Leo have actually said that. She suddenly look up at Leo's, raising her hands and leaning it at Leo's cheeks. "Do you really mean it?" she uttered out, not really believing the words he have said to her. It still lingers in her mind, and the fact that her heart is still beating rapidly makes it unbelievable.
Leo's warm cheeks never hurts her hand, it feels comfortable. Just like what she usually feels towards him.

Back in the days when his mother was still alive, a kiss was meant to show support, as a 'medicine' to make his mother feel better. His mother did try to explain once, a kiss is meant to show love, she said while lovingly patting his young head.
Leo never understood, until this moment right now, as Rayl returned his kiss. It feels so strange, so mystifying. These new feelings confuses him, but Leo doesn't even care. All that he knows is, everything just feels so right.
After they had slowly parted from each other, their eyes are completely locked into one another. It was until he had said those three sacred words did Rayl broke their eye contact and darted her eyes down.
At this, Leo's smile widens. He has damaged muscle tissues around his cheeks, so smiling too much would be impossible for him, yet he's doing it right now. When she raised back her eyes to meet his, her cold hands were also lifted up to cup his face.
Hearing her question from such a faint tone of voice pushed a small chain of chuckles out of Leo's throat. "Yes!" He said in between his rare laughs and raises his free hand to put it on top of her hand that's holding his face. "I do."
Leo found it fascinating that he cannot stop laughing, his eyes even squinted close by how happy he is. "Is this what love feels like? I-I'm so happy that I'm shaking.."
This feeling...is unlike any other he has ever experienced in his lifetime. And his life is filled with feeling nothing, so this burst of emotion is like lighting fire in a forgotten unused hearth.
Pushing himself up properly so he's sitting on his legs instead of relying on his elbow, he holds both of her hands now while they're still on his cheeks. "Th-thank you....so much...."

Her eyes softens, the once cold gaze of the girl, have slowly vanish. Making emotions flood and visible in her eyes. She was starting to feel the warmth of Leo's word in her as she looks at his face and his smile that grows wider.
Then, that warm laugh erupted from Leo's; his hand holding her hand that is cupping his cheek, her gaze warmed; as an almost wide smile was plastered on her lips. "This...this is something new from the both of us..." she let out, her heart beats were still fast due to the excitement and happiness she's feeling at the moment.
"But... I like this feeling... sharing it with you..." she murmured, suddenly hugging him; at that moment she could feel the 'love' her parents have always tell her.
She pulled her face to face him and shook her head. "No... thank you..." she let out, a happy smile was plastered on her face. "For showing me what love felt like.."
then and there her ring glows, showing anyone who sees it what she really felt. "Ai'shetteru..."
But, suddenly, realizing Leo's and the kid's state; she pulled back and look at him calmly.
"We should head back home, Leo. The kid is still unconscious."

When Rayl gently spoke that this experience is new for her as well, Leo ceased his laughter and asked her with faint traces of chuckles, "Does that mean I'm not the only one with my heart nearing in breaking through my ribs?" He likes to see her smile, no he loves seeing her smile. This sudden wanting to see her smile even wider by cracking something clever like that surprises him inwardly.
Right then and there, she suddenly launched herself towards him into a hug. Before Leo could even register what's happening, the ice maiden pulled herself off and then proceeded to thank him...for showing her love. A brilliant loving smile was on her face and the sight completely froze him in place. It's such a rare face for her to use, yet so entrancingly beautiful, it was immediately ingrained in his mind to capture every bit of that beauty into canvas, oil-painting, coal, wall-prints, glass art, ceramic and any sort of medium he can think of right now.
His eyes are completely towards Rayl's smile right now that he missed to see her ring glowing. She had said something in her mother tongue, and that confuses Leo, but then she pulled his attention towards what's currently happening.
"Ah. Yes. We should." He nodded at her with a smile before pushing himself up, and since their hands are somehow linked together now, easily pulled her up as well. It didn't occurred to Leo that his lanky weak stick arms just managed to pull a lady back up to her feet so very easily. He grabbed back the clothes he stripped off earlier and wore them back...almost energetically.
Actually, Leo seems very unlike himself. He used to be so lethargic and slow in his movement, but now he's brimming with energy and spirit, it's quite frightening if you know him before. Walking towards where Sean lied, the artist slipped his arms under the child and hoists the boy up in his arms without much trouble.
"Okay, let's go." He turned his head over his shoulder to say that to Rayl before setting off.

Rayl couldn't help but let out a small laughter rumble on her throat as Leo stated what he felt about his ribs. It's true that her heart beats so fast and it feels like it was about to explode.
Leo, with all his might stood up and offer a hand for Rayl to take; in which she have accepted. They will go back home, for them to take a rest. It has been a long day for them. the events were like a whirlwind. Rayl look down at their hands that are linked together before looking up at Leo and nodding as Leo carried the little kid in his arms.
She look at the kid as she went beside Leo, "Today have been... interesting, wasn't it?" she let out, suddenly forming a smile in her lips. Being with him have made Rayl change drastically, in a good way. And she like it.
Walking for almost five minutes, they now stood in front of the house as she turned the knob as it opened. The lights were on and finally, there is electricity. She look at Leo and offer him to go inside for them to aid the kid.
"Let's aid the kid first.. I'll go fetch some warm water." she offered, but she thought about the word 'warm' it is equal to 'hot'. She shook her head, she have been on the worst at the opposite element, so why bother to worry?
