Rayl...is laughing. What? Never in a million years would he expect this moment to happen right in front of him, yes he can imagine it possible, but not literally seeing this out of nowhere. Leo simply stared at the ice maiden, his eyes wide and his mouth in a perfect 'o'.
It was, quite simply, a magical sight, since Leo can't even imagine she can even look that lovely. And he's an artist, he's supposed to imagine impossible-to-see things like this. He had effective paused time, retrace every outline of her mirth in his artistic head, then remember it to sketch/paint/mold it later.
"O-oh, I don't mind, you can laugh at me any time you want.." He responded, a bit dazed. "Please be mine. ..I mean!" And this is when he slapped himself mentally for being dazed in the first place. "I mean, as in, in my painting! Yes...okay that was weird. Sorry."
How is it that he can turn into such a blunderhead in front of her all of a sudden?
Soon as he noticed Rayl's trying to hide her smile, Leo immediately reached over to put his fingers on her fists, and slowly guided her hands down. "..Don't hide it. Please," he asked with such a sincere tone, it's probably one of those rare moments that he didn't use his brain. "Actually, I'm confused why would you want to hide it."

She shook her head, "No... it's really rude of me to laugh your flush and embarrassed moments," she answered, though as she finishes wiping the formed liquid in her eyes. She tries to cover her smile at him.
But his hand have caught her fist and bring it down to see her smile. One that is so serene and simple, yet the beauty comes within the emotion her eyes filled with.
She look up at him, her eyes filled with surprisement when Leo stutters from his words, just because of a simple bubble of laughter left her voice. A blushed once again filled her pale cheeks, and it was visible just because of his statement as well. In painting? Is he going to paint her? She smiled at that thought, no one have ever dared to paint her.
Ah yes, she remembers he have paint her upstairs. She look up at him. "I... I really don't know," she let out, about hiding her smile. "I don't smile firstly... and this would be the first time," she answered, shrugging her shoulders.
She suddenly look at him, "About the painting... upstairs you have paint me. I... what am I about to do... in your painting." she said blushing, she wanted to atleast appreciate his work. And wanted to join him. "I'll be yours," she blurted out, looking at him directly in the eyes of his.

Leo shrugged his shoulders, "I don't really care for manners, honestly. So I don't mind," was what he said. Or perhaps it was because he's already used to it, there are certainly others who laughs at him for his mad ideas frequently, so what's so different with laughing at his reddening face?
In all honesty, he enjoyed the way her eyes looked when she smiled. He really wanted to paint that glint, it's a good thing he can capture the image and temporarily store it in his mind. "You don't have to pose for me, Rayl, I already have it right here..." he tapped at the side of his head.
The beauty of another being is quite memorable anyway, Leo just have to take a look at it and it's automatically saved in his brain. "Well, upstairs, I painted you because I saw you half naked," he can't believe he just said that so shamelessly. "This time I wanted to paint you, because I saw you smile." It's a completely different reason artistically.
Personally though, he just wanted to stall, unconsciously and without him even realizing it, he wanted to be with her. It struck him when the ice maiden gazed directly in his eyes and tell him that she's his.
That sparked quite a lot of wild imaginations into his head.
Leo quickly shakes those thoughts off before it got into him, and darted his eyes away. Sometimes, he kept forgetting that he's not just an artist, he's a guy too. "I...uhm... W-what do you plan to do after this? Since..you don't want to assassinate anymore.." He's obviously changing the topic, but then again, if he didn't what was he supposed to say in response to her rather alluring line there?

Her eyes only gaze for him as he speaks of his art and his mind that works greatly. She nodded, understanding... though she couldn't help but think of others. If what would Leo do if she could be there exactly from where he paints. Where she can really pose in front of him. Though it flushed her by that thought because she doesn't have any single idea what to do.
She paused, suddenly the topic has been changed. The question was directed to her. She furrowed her eyebrows. What is she going to do now? With no job she specializes.
She shrugged her shoulders, not really knowing. "Maybe... find some decent jobs that would never know of what I've done way back." she murmured, eyes directed on the table in front of them. "Though I can easily learn new things... it's really odd sometime," she added. She wasn't making Leo feel guilty of her stopping her job. She doesn't want him to worry at her case. She was strong willed and determine to learn new things.
Her lips tug upward, "I wanted to learn new things.. aside from my former job. I just have this feeling of learning new things."

Leo listened and nodded meekly, perhaps her idea of finding the new job is on the right track, but Leo can't help feeling at least a slight wave of guilt for forcing her to go through this. His eyes was suddenly casted downwards, but when Rayl admitted she's rather adept in learning, he snapped his head back up.
Right on cue to see that smile once again.
"So you're interested in learning..." Leo muttered, sounding as if he's actually quite relieved to hear her words and happy at the same time to be seeing her smiling without restrictions. He curved his own lips upwards at her confirmation, "Then I would have nothing to worry about. With that attitude, you're bound to go forward.
He knows that feeling, that excitement when you realize the world has so much in store for you, that interest to know what's going on, that curiosity to learn. He reached up to her shoulder and patted her. "I'm...proud."
Leo then pulled back his hand from Rayl and sat quietly, his eyes gazed over the window nearby and noted how dark it's getting. "Um...Rayl, may I...ask for a request?" He began nervously, "...Can I...stay here for the night?"

She nodded meekly to Leo, suddenly embarrassed at the sudden thought of hers. "Yea... learning new things," she paused, not wanting to continue her statement. She knew it would make Leo more guilty, because he's the reason she stop doing her former job.
But stopping from that job means she won't be fighting with her lust. Though it would be a challenge to her if she can be a human.
"Request?" she look at Leo as he request for him to stay here. She blink confuse at his statement, suddenly looking at the clock nearby and at the window. It dawned on her that it's already night time or so.
"Oh, it's not a problem," she answered, suddenly standing up. "Were you tired and want to rest? Please do say so, so I can accompany you at your room," she let out, suddenly picking up the teacups that should be cleaned. She suddenly paused at her statement, suddenly flushed; she look at Leo. "I-I mean... I'll guide you to your room," she corrected, suddenly looking away at his gaze. Turning to face the sink. "I'll just wash this first..."

Leo smiled slightly now that he gained the permission to stay in Rayl's house for the night. He knew for a fact that the snow outside is absolutely dreadful during night time. Plus, he's less than capable to protect himself from the wild animals lurking at this time of night.
"Thank you.." he nodded gratefully, "I owe you a lot already, so I'm truly thankful." It's true though, this girl had saved him way too many times, it's impossible to get even with her. When Rayl stood up from her chair, the artist snapped his head up in surprise to look at her.
"A-ah.. Okay... Thank you.." he muttered when she's busy collecting the teacups. He hadn't noticed the other meaning of her words that could be depicted until Rayl rephrased her statement. Leo just blinked, unable to grasp the error of her words at first until he caught sight of her flushing face.
"I didn't..thought of it like that, don't worry." Awkward. Why does it suddenly felt so very awkward when communicating with Rayl? "Uhm..b-by the way, would you like to have this?" He changed the subject yet again, that seemed to be a habit of his when he's stuck with the awkwardness of the last topic.
Leo fished out something from his pocket, and puts it down on a table. A simple ring, with a peculiar gem. "I invented something the other day that saved this girl's respiratory system back in the steam country. She wanted me to have this thing, she said it's a mood ring."
Since Leo isn't particularly moody or bursting with emotions, the color of the gem on that ring always stays in one color whenever he tried it on. So the artist didn't find it to be useful, at least for him. "Maybe it'll prove to be more useful to you."

Rayl quickly finishes washing the teacups and such, since it was only four of it. Once done, she arranged it at a cabinet... a bit unease at the awkward statement she gives. She couldn't help but be unease now... now that both have shared the same feelings towards each other.
And she couldn't help but asked to herself about the uneasiness. Is it really natural? How long the uneasiness would be? She sighed at the thought. Stopping from her tracks as she looks at Leo whom offered her something.
She wipes her hand on a clean cloth, suddenly striding her way at the stool beside Leo. She looked at the simple ring with a gem on the middle. She took a hold of it and look at Leo. "Mood ring?" she asks, looking at the ring owlishly. "Does that mean it can tell what you feel?" she added, suddenly placing it where it fits from her left hand. And surprisingly, it fits on her ring finger.
She blinked owlishly at the sight of the ring on her finger, "Do you know what are the emotions and colors that defines it?"

Leo was glad this mood ring is able to distract both of them off the awkward topic, and he's actually smiling to see that Rayl seeming to be interested with the gift. "Yes, a mood ring. It's made of a thermochromatic liquid, I assume. It senses your heartbeat and body temperature, and changes colours according to what you feel."
Leo smiled as he watches Rayl putting the ring on and internally is grateful that it fits her finger. "Indeed. The person who gave the ring to me also gave me a piece of paper with different colours that signifies which emotion.." His voices lowered down with guilt all of a sudden, "But I've...already thrown it away because I memorized it.."
He unconsciously scratched the back of his head slightly, wondering if what he did was uncalled for. Either way, he memorized it, so may as well tell this to Rayl, "It can change into 12 different colours, if I remember correctly. Would you like me to list it for you?"
He didn't wait for her answer through, the artist just nimbly flips up a pen that he always has in his pocket. Apparently, the pen was one of his hand-made random gizmo, so there's actually a special cartridge at the back of then pen that holds a roll of small paper. Leo simply ripped a part of the paper after he had pulled it long enough, then began to write on it.
- Green - Normal
- White - Bored / Frustrated
- Brown - Restless
- Light yellow - Imaginative
- Deep yellow - Unsettled / Mixed emotions
- Orange - Daring
- Pink - Fear / Uncertain
- Gray - Very nervous / Anxious
- Red - Excited
- Black - Stressed / Tense
- Blue - Calm / Relaxed
Leo sort of paused a bit to list the last color, but after a few nervous coughs, continued to write it anyway, though very slowly and awkwardly.
It bothered him to why he's so awkward about it, it's just to write what it means. So he did, and then he gave the paper to Rayl. "So what's the colour of your ring right now?"

She sat there silently beside her, watching him how he wrote almost elegantly the emotions and colors the ring held. And she furrowed her eyebrows when Leo paused, unsure if he would continue writing. Until... he quickly finishes writing and handed her the piece of note.
She look down at the nice hand-writing of Leo, reading the emotions and colors it held. She look blankly at the last sentence, confuse at how Leo is unsure of this... she ignored it. It might both of them rather more awkward than before.
She look at Leo and tilted her head to the side. What does she feel right now? She couldn't help but be uncertain at that question.... and confuse. She look down at the ring, and surprisingly... it turned pink. She raised her hand and let Leo take a look of the color. "It said I was uncertain right now... though I really don't know why.." she let out blankly, shrugging her shoulders as she pulled back her hand and placed it on her lap.
"Maybe you should have one too... it doesn't mean it only place a single color doesn't mean it wouldn't change into others...." she murmured then look down at the ring, suddenly blushing.

Leo eyed the colour of the gem when Rayl spun her hand for him to see. He almost chuckled at the statement she said, "I think it works backwards. It's because you don't know, you're uncertain." He almost asked her in what topic is she clueless about, but Rayl had already made it clear that she doesn't know why.
When the ice maiden suggested for him to get another one for himself, the lad paused to consider. "Well Rayl, so far, it never worked when I wore it. Perhaps it's because I really lack emotions.." He took a look towards her, her eyes are down to stare at her hands. It worked for Rayl, and she's half a human. Plus, she's learning how to feel and embrace her own emotions.
'...I really should learn a thing or two from her..'
"Huh.. Alright. You have a point there... I'll go get one for myself soon, then." Just as Leo's done speaking, a frightening boom thundered from the skies. The artist spun his attention towards the window, noting how dark and crazy the wind is outside.
"Is the weather here usually THIS awful?" He questioned without turning to Rayl, first blizzard and now thunderstorms. All of a sudden, the lights inside the house short-circuited and a black out occurred, trapping the pair in the darkness of the kitchen.
"Oh great..." Now the only area that has even the faintest light is the living room, where the furnace with the fire is.

She looked up at him, her eyes shown deep uncertainty which he concluded because she just wear the mood ring. And... specifically... to what she really feels right now... and the awkwardness way back. She shrug her shoulders and sighed, thinking of what emotions could she encounter.
Rayl paused and look at Leo, "Maybe one day... you'll find the ring you'll owned with any colors, regarding of what you feel..." she murmured softly, looking down at her ring, suddenly feeling herself smiled. "Thank you for this, Leo..." she said in deep gratitude. Since no one have never yet gave her something like this.
A deep comfortable silence passed by, and her ring changes into blue. She looked a bit at the paper... so her feelings turned to calm and/or relaxed. She look amuse and in wonderment at the ring. But suddenly, there's a sudden explosion. Seems like a thunderstorm... which her eyebrows furrowed in confusion. The lights in the room went out, the remaining light is at the fireplace.
"This is odd... I've never encountered this place to have thunderstorm and such," she replied to Leo when he asked about the sudden thunder racking. She stood up, "Let's go to the living room." she offered, as she was in deep thought about the thunderstorm. Or was it really a thunderstorm?
She suddenly look over to where she could feel Leo was, suddenly remembering their meeting awhile ago. He was once holding something. "Leo," she called out. "You were holding something when I found you awhile ago, right? What was it?" she asked, curious... though it might be some detonator bomb, which the artist is capable and addictive to make.
"Was it a bomb?"

Leo blinked in surprise for a bit to hear that this is the first time the place experienced a black out like this. "Really? ..So if the occurrence are rare.. ....Hm. No matter. I'll look into it." He almost forgot that he fixes things. Restarting up the electrical power won't be that much of a problem for him.
He was just about to ask her to lead to the main electrical supply box, but Rayl beats him to it by asking him a question. "Huh?" He paused a bit to recall. The artist fainted while he's in the middle of doing something outside, if he remembered correctly. "Oh! Right, I was--" His face paled all of a sudden, but due to the darkness, he's pretty sure Rayl didn't see it.
Her guess was spot on, too. "C-correct. It's very heat sensitive, so I wouldn't worry if I leave it here, since the weather here is always so cold.." Leo had programmed it to only react violently when heat is near. "Unless....someone touches it." Yes, a normal human's body heat could probably set it off and explode. Still, he better hide it somewhere...like in a fridge or something.
"By the way, Rayl, could you direct me to where the main electric box is located?"

She sighed, her eyes shown anxiety as her mood ring changed into the color of gray. Anxiety because of her doubts at the place, though she still hopes it wouldn't be the bomb Leo mentioned. She lead Leo to the Main Switch of the electricity in the house.
"Here it is," she murmured, the switch is just at the farthest side of the living room. So its dark and not much light is seen. "I'll go get some flashlights." she added, going at where the guest room was and fetching some batteries and flashlight needed.
Once done, she turned on the flashlight and walk where Leo was and handed him a flashlight. "Need any help?" she asks, standing next to him.

Leo was led towards the main fuse box at the corner of the living room, and while Rayl went off for a bit to fetch the flashlights, the artist felt around the box and manage to open it by the time Rayl arrived.
"Thanks," he nodded whilst receiving the flashlight and turned it on, flashing it towards the fuse box. He stared at all the electrical wires with different colors attached to most of the holes and sockets inside the box, eying it for a short while.
"Huh.. That's strange...." Leo furrowed his eyebrows, "Everything seemed to be in order." He turned to Rayl with slight confusion. It can't be a simply short-circuit problem, but then he came up with another possibility.
"Say Rayl, does this house happened to have a basement, by any chance?" Lone houses in the middle of nowhere like this usually receive electricity from underground channels, a generous old man from the steampunk country had informed him. So its best if he investigate down there first.
