"!" "huh?! Syani of course he's just a friend, I mean... the reason why I say I love him is because... He hasn't had any love in his life.. He was very troubled... And I believe everyone deserves love.. Even if it's platonic. I don't think it is fair to live without love... Love exists in all things that are good. "
"If someone asked you: "Do you love your friends?" "What would you say? Yes of course." "And that love wouldn't be romantic right? It would be strictly platonic."
"Can I show you something else?" Now that the angel has remembered Zero and wiped her tears away she reached inside her bag and pulled out a dusty small portable photo album which hadn't been touched or looked at for years... Until now at least.
She opened up the album and it showed pictures of 12 year old Mitsuko, and 8 year old Zero. There was one photo of them together with her god parents in the background, and another with Mitsuko on her her knees beside Zero blowing bubbles from the bubble wand. Once the bubble was blown into the air, both Mitsuko and Zero blew on the free bubble to go higher into the sky.

"So you say that..." Syani shrugged with a grin. Mitsuko's an angel, so she's very true to her words, yet the half-vampire can't deny that even if Mitsuko's an angel, she's still a girl. And her buddy's a guy. "..Still you never know what the future holds. Fate might brings you together for another type of love."
Syani said that as if she's joking, but by that smile she held, it might not be the case. One of her sentences did strike the half-vampire rather deeply though, 'I don't think it is fair to live without love...' The way it echoed in her mind sounded rather haunting than uplifting, it scared Syani in a way.
"Huh?" Being distracted by the thought, the half-vampire was caught off-guard when Mitsuko pulled out another thing from her bag. Syani seemed more amazed by the bag than the photo album itself to be holding so much things, but then dragged her attention towards the opened album to see several pictures of 2 children together.
"Oh, so this is the boy..?" Syani found it considerably easier to talk to the angel now that her tears are wiped away. An angel with tears just seemed off a bit. The black-haired stared at the pictures, smiling at how cute they both looked, and noticed how the boy is smaller than chibi Mitsuko. "Wait, how old is he?"

"Let's see... 10 years have passed, and he was 8 when I met him so that makes him...... 18. He is 18 years old. " Mitsuko smiled at the fact that she was able to caculate his age, even after all this time.
"He has been through so much at that young age.... But at least I was able to get him to smile, and to mend his heart a little... I wonder.... I wonder what he looks like today?" She went deep in thought as she stared at the pictures. "When I see him again, We have to relive some of our childhood memories together... ^_^- there was nothing but happy times when we were together. I am sure he'd appreciate it."

"..10 years. 10 YEARS. You haven't seen him in 10 YEARS, yet you still remember him..." Syani wondered if it's some sort of angel trait to have such a good memory. ...Or probably she remembered it by heart.
Syani just smiled, watching Mitsuko daydreaming of how her childhood friend would look like. "Ahahahah! You know, somehow, I have a very strong hunch that you're gonna see him soon enough. When that time comes, don't ever let him slip off from your life again." When Mitsuko misses something, she misses like there's no tomorrow, and might just pull herself to sickness if it happens long enough.
"Plus, you might want to consider celebrating when you find him."

It's funny how Syani mentioned that Mitsuko and Zero should celebrate because that is exactly what the angel is planning.
"Yeah... actually Syani.. I have been working on something for him for a long time. It all started after he disappeared.... It's a special surprise. A birthday surprise. I began his present before I lost my memory though so I just have to take another look at it to see where I left off at. I remember working a bit on it each day but never told anyone because I missed him for years, and if I told my brothers one of them would tease me, and the other would question how long I have known the young man, since my brother Jake is overprotective of me, more so then Kankorou is. And as years passed so did many birthdays and presents."
"I'm going to make it up to him though...Once we see each other, get caught up then I will invite him over to the Alamo Inn where I work and live, and then give it to him. That will be our celebration, and when I get reunited with him, I will do a pinky swear with him for us to never ever lose each other again and to always be there for the other."[/color]

"Oh yeah??" Syani leaned forward, suddenly interested in what Mitsuko has in store for the boy. It sounded sweet no matter how she looked at it; a little girl working on a present for a friend, then continues on making that present 10 years after.
The half-vampire giggled when Mitsuko described how her brothers would react to the situation, as Syani can't help but to tease, "Its kind of cute that you thought of this boy's birthdays than your own brothers', Mitsuko." Yes, that grin of hers would be permanent, if it wasn't for her guilt.
Syani then set both her feet straight in front of herself, stretching after sitting for so long by touching her toes with the tip of her fingers. "How can you hold up with such hopes..? 'To always be there for each other'.. Haven't you lost enough people to stop believing in such thoughts?" The half-vampire never meant to hurt anyone with her words, what's worst is she never did realized when she did. Syani has a nasty habit of speaking out her thoughts without filtering them, since her thoughts pretty much have no boundaries. So is her tongue.
"I mean, he's a human, right? What happens if he dies one day?"

"Okay one question at a time." She said gently but laughed a little.
"I guess you can say that my bond with my brothers is a little different. And it's not like I am not connected with them at all it's just... They act more like parents then anything else, especially Jake". Considering that Mitsuko is his baby sister, it's only natural for him to really look out for her like a parent does.
"While Jake is so calm and SERIOUS, Kankorou is more free spirited then anything else."
"My bond with Zero... It truly is hard to explain... We just connected instantly, While my brothers celebrated many things during our happier times at the Summer's Eve temple.... Zero didn't have that opportunity too much. He mostly spent his time with me healing and recovering. "He deserves at least a birthday present... And I'll give you a hint what his present is...
She whispered in Syani's ear.
"It is not a material present... More of a sentimental present that he can remember for years and years.. While sentimental presents never ever fade or age... Material ones do.. and you don't take your material possessions to heaven. Just your soul and your memories."
"You can have many things that are materialistic in this life.... But you can't take them with you... Love however you can."
The love of a sister flows greatly in Mitsuko's present to her best friend. While he can't take the rough notes that she used to guide her in the creation of the present, he take the love that is in it.
"Okay, on to your second question. "How I hold such high hopes is just because I lost a lot of people, doesn't mean I should stop loving.and showing that I care for someone else. It's not fair to the people that are in my life. Right here, right now. "
"My mom before she died said to me that I have the power to make a lot of people happy.. And that I should pass on this gift to those I have met. It could be as simple as healing their hearts and loving them for who they are."
Mitsuko didn't take any offense to how Syani spoke her thoughts, She was curious after all, as well as making a few points a long the way.
"I know when it is time for Zero to die, I know he would die a peaceful death because we met each other, and we became friends Best friends. Our feelings, and lives affect each other so deeply however... When it is time for one of us to go, then we know we'd be leaving this world without regrets. I always thank the heavens for bringing Zero into my life, he made it incredibly special. We were able to grow and change because of the events that we have been through together. How we spent our child hood."

"Parental...brothers..? There exist such a being?!" For what she read and heard, from novels and others' experiences, brothers are like crazy foxes when confronting a sibling. Wild and mischievous, never parent-like.
Though, logically, they could be extremely overprotective that they took a step up to being a parent-figure, especially when there's no parents anymore. Syani giggled at Mitsuko's description of her brothers, "Hahah, it's as if they complete each other. Such a lovely couple, perfect for being parents!"
She burst out laughing at the thought of two fully grown men in a house, taking care of Mitsuko. One's with a pipe in his mouth and reading the newspapers, the other's donning an apron and cooking. It's such a hilarious image in her head, she can't stop smirking even after her laughter had subsided.
"Zero? Oh, the boy..?" The half-vampire reminded herself, still grinning at the earlier thought, but she did listened intently. Her smile lessens when the angel mentioned of this Zero guy didn't even seem to have the time to really enjoy himself, even birthdays. So Syani paid attention to Mitsuko's whispering.
"You're gonna give him a sentimental present..?" the half-vampire asked, wondering what might that be. Still, whatever it is, it does sounded nice. To be kept in his heart for a very long time, maybe forever. The thought of how sweet that sounded made her smiled wider.
Syani scratched her head after Mitsuko has done answering and explaining why she's so hopeful, so confident of her heart. It rendered the half-vampire mute, but her mind's still keen to come out with yet another thought, 'Now to figure out where that infinite mass of inner strength came from. Either all the angels have them naturally, or Mitsuko herself is one of a kind.'
When the angel began talking about Zero again, Syani could tell by how she described his death so calmly like that, by being so certain that there's no regrets to both of them, by being so grateful of just meeting her childhood friend...that Mitsuko's definitely one of a kind.
"You speak good," Syani leaned to the back with her arms supporting her weight as she stares up at the darkening sky. Sunset is almost over, and she could hear the crickets beginning their night melodies. A soft cool breeze blew over the pair for a while, and Syani let out a singular chuckle. "All I can say is, Mitsuko, your mother must be feeling so proud of you, for everything you've gone through."
She glanced at the angel for a while to deliver a smile. Syani's part witch, she can communicate with the nearest spirits just by feeling a breeze. "Plus, those who purposely left you to hurt you doesn't realize what they've thrown away, BIG mistake. It's their loss. Conversely, those who are still with you now, those who are searching for you right now, whoever they may be, whether your brothers or this Zero dude, knows that they are incredibly lucky to have been a big part of your life, Mitsuko."
The half-vampire then turned back towards the skies, that smile still present on her lips. "That was the messages a random spirit hovering around here wanted me to say to you. Dunno who though."

IF Mitsuko was still an immature 16 year old girl she would have bursted into tears with the thought of Zero dying. However she didn't. She kept calm, and knew that all humans will die one day, the most important thing is to make each day of your life count. Don't waste it. As quick as you blow out a candle on a birthday cake, that is how fast your life can flash before your eyes.
And that's what this angel was doing with her life. Sure she was remembering all the things that she has been through, but she was also making her life count and spending it with those that cared about her Syani included. She listened to Syani's message, looked at her with gentle eyes, and responded.
"Well the spirits are right. While I don't harbor any ill feelings toward them, I know that my life will be better without them. Like I said.... If either of those guys that just left me were to come into my life again... I would not take them back, because I am not putting myself through the same situation. This is my time to enjoy my life."
"Hmm on to happier topics... ! Ohh that's right. Before I forget Syani... I wanted to ask you something. Would you like to come to this get together that me and Saiya are planning? Some of the details haven't been worked out yet, but we figured that since we are so busy going into different directions, a party would be a great way for all of us to mingle."

"Hear that, spirits? She's gonna enjoy life!" Syani yelled to the heavens, laughing slightly. She wondered who is that spirit, it can't be just a random one from this abandoned jail, it must have been someone who knew Mitsuko...
The thought was then quickly forgotten when the angel mentioned of the get together, "Oooh! A party?!" Her eyes glimmered as she pushed herself to sit with her legs bent backwards in excitement. "Oh, I'd love to! ..Eh wait, did you said Saiya?"
That wide grin on her face fell a bit by that name, and Syani pulled herself back as her eyes darted away from the angel. "Oooooh, that's gonna be awkward.." And for a being like Syani who basically lacks everything ranging from gracefulness to being tactful, it's a feat for her to even use the word 'awkward'.

"Um awkward? Is something wrong Syani?" The angel asked with some concern in her voice. As with the random spirit that Syani communicated with just to give her a message it must have been the angel's mother. That's the only spirit that the angel knows of since her mom did die.
"Even if it is awkward won't we all still have fun? A little awkwardness won't hurt anyone... Actually haha... I maybe having an awkward moment during the party myself."
The angel laughed uncontrollably just by thinking about her brother Jake's reaction at the party once she introduces her guest of honor. Maybe there will be a few gasps in the crowd, and even Jake start to have a little fit in his head, it was all too cute and too funny. And after all the angel was one for a good laugh.

Syani let out an uneasy smile at Mitsuko's sudden burst of laughter, she wondered if she should just distract the angel off the topic again, but...well, that won't ease her discomfort.
"Actually, this kind of awkwardness does....hurt," the half-vampire started unsurely, still with that nervous smile. Usually, Syani wouldn't notice these things, she can't read in between the lines. Hidden messages usually can't reach her understanding, but...well, let's just say a bomb was thrown on her face and she wasn't blind and deaf anymore.
"See, Saiya is in love with this same guy who...confessed to me. ..Jeez, I'm almost tempted to chug an amnesia potion in his throat so he would forget me," she spoke slowly, barely audible. Her last sentence was merely a whisper, it's hard to catch what she just said.
It's a very...VERY confusing triangle. Syani always hated triangles. Or squares. Worst are polygons. Gah, anything with edges that can make relationships extra confusing!

"Pardon? Saiya is in love with someone? When I spoke to her she only mentioned to me about the guy that she misses and wants to find. Wait... She's in love with the same guy that, confessed his feelings to you?"
The angel closed her eyes, took a deep breath as she condensed the information about this love triangle that Syani was in, and there is only one person that she knew that loved Syani, other then her own boyfriend. Roy.
"That person wouldn't happen to be Roy would it?"

Syani scratched her head at the mentioning of this other guy she fell for, she did vaguely remember Saiya spoke about this Ryuichi guy too. Internally, she asks herself just how many guys can touch one girl's heart? What's sadistic is the owner of that very heart has no control whatsoever of it, because if there's one thing Syani learned, is 'it just HAPPENED'.
The half-vampire did a little facepalm, thinking that this would be a great moment to do just that, because Mitsuko's guess hits right off the mark. "Is it really that obvious, or is he REALLY famous in this specific case?" She suddenly have the urge to choke Roy if its the latter.
Finally letting her face go from her palm, the black-haired brooded, "I really...REALLY feel bad about it last time, and it just like multiplied itself when I meet Saiya then Roy went all-- argh." Syani shuts off her mind, in order to shut up her mouth.
"How did you know that, anyway??" So the half-vampire resolves to distract herself by asking Mitsuko how did she picked up something like that.

"It's obvious... If I can remember correctly at the masquerade ball that I held.. Roy was extremely jealous that you were with your boyfriend. Syani he really REALLY likes you... However how do you feel about him? Do you like Roy? or do you feel as if you should set him straight, about your feelings for your boyfriend?"
"If you don't do it soon... Then I picture things getting worse.. Much worse."
