Syani's bright golden orbs gazed right into his eyes, slowly widening when his words finally reached her understanding. "W...What?" Her voice is carried by her breath, barely audible as she studied the vampire's pained eyes. Somehow, hearing him saying that, made her breath stopped short and everything in her mind paused. She had always seen Kaekeru as an extremely strong individual, so now hearing those words uttered out from his lips...
Automatically, almost instinctively, her hand immediately reached out towards his frighteningly pale face, lightly touching his cold cheek, dampen with the wolves' blood. "What have they done to you..." She whispered, more to herself than questioning him, and before Syani even notices it, something stings her vision.
A lone tear escaped her welling eyes.
The half-vampire slapped a hand on her lips, trying to contain the sudden sob that broke away her throat. Her chest and shoulders jerked up and down continuously, almost shivering. Her other hand though, kept on holding onto Kaekeru's cheek, although now a bit shaky through the ordeal.
The feeling of being so powerless and helpless is getting into her, and while she's attempting to calm herself from the sudden shock, she's trying very hard to figure out how to help Kaekeru, or at least ease his pain, even a slight bit. The result is more tears streaming down her cheeks, while the frozen air is quickly frosting up her tear lines into faded crystals.
If he can't cry...then she cries for him.
"I...I don't know how...!" Her voice is broken, though her watery eyes still held a small amount of strength within it, "I don't know how...to help you.." She trailed off, a sob cutting her voice, but her eyes are not even wavering off from him. Her entire focus is towards him, and even in all her weaknesses, the only thing she could do is to push herself from his grip, lock her arms around his neck, and rests her chin on his shoulder so she could whisper into his ear.
"Please forgive me..."
Then Syani pulls her face away, her golden irises seeking for something deeply as they revert their ways to his eyes, and as she nears her face towards his, the half-vampire close the distance between her lips and Kaekeru's, still with her frosted tears.

The distress grew in his eyes as he saw her breaking down into tears for him. His eyebrows scrunched together in worry and pain as he tried to manifest the words to explain to her. He had spent his time on the mountain forgetting. Forgetting the pain they inflicted on him as they had wiped away his memories of before with that pain. Now, to remember her and why he felt so strongly for her, he would need to think back into those moments of pain to find the time when he had started to forget and block everything out. His pained eyes stared into hers as water leaked out, wishing he could cry with her or stop her tears.
Kaekeru's eyes opened wide in shock and he completely stilled his muscles and stopped breathing as she locked her arms around him with her head on his shoulder. Her neck was so close to his lips that it would take only an instant of losing control. He shut his eyes tight as he heard her whisper into his ear.
He opened his eyes again as she pulled away, looking into her eyes again and she stared into his. His eyes widened again as she moved close to him and touched their lips together. His eyes then slowly closed as he had his arms around her, holding her close and kissing her. This sensation felt so familiar to him. "Syani..." He muttered with his eyes closed as he pulled back just enough to free his lips to speak and look into her eyes again.
He lifted one of his hands and gently brushed the side of her hair, resting his hand with his fingers tangled in her hair at the back of her head. "They......" He began but trailed off and looked to the side, not wanting to tell her. He looked back into her eyes again as he tried to gather something else to say. "They.... made me..... forget...." A pained look grew in his eyes again as they looked to the side again, not wanting to tell her what they did specifically. Most of it was still a bit of a blur but he was starting to remember her. He looked back at her again, awaiting her response.

Syani continuously blinked her eyes in order to clear it from the stupid tears that welled there, her face starting to redden both by the tears and that familiar kiss. Every time he spoke her name, Syani's lips just automatically curved into a smile, maybe it's the fact that she missed it so much.
The half-vampire watched closely how his eyes shifted to the side constantly at his attempt on telling her something. Still blinking to get the tears off of her vision, her eyes only stopped fluttering when he finally said what he wanted to say. '..Forget...'
To sum up what's happening in her head, is nothing. She totally blanked out by that one simple broken statement. Her eyes gazed almost indifferently at Kaekeru's red ones, as her mind sort of shuts down for a while. When her eyebrows suddenly creased back, so did that gleam in her eyes when she finally registered what he meant.
And that pain in his eyes... So much...pain...
"No..." she whispered, raising a hand to touch him by the cheek, "No, no... You didn't forget..." Her voice is returning as she spoke, and with much hope in her eyes, Syani asked, "You remember me.... Right?"
Deep in her mind, she assured herself with much confidence, 'If he didn't...then I'd be dead now...'

Kaekeru watched into her eyes as her thoughts went blank. He listened to her speaking, not sure if he even did remember her. It was like she was from a dream. There was someone familiar and calming about her but he was still struggling now, hard, to remember exactly who she was to him.
"I...... remember....... little......" He tried to explain how he did not really remember her then but only a small flicker of familiarity kept him protecting her as he did. "Like.... dream...." He wasn't sure how to word his explanation or if he should try more or leave her with that. He hoped that she would understand this and not be upset that he did not remember her as much as she might have hoped.

"Then how come...you protected me?" That question followed up right after when she thought Kaekeru was done speaking. Its rather difficult to tell since he spoke fairly little now, and it looks like he's having a hard time to even talk.
Syani can't deny it stung her to hear that Kaekeru doesn't remember much of her, but it felt like something was just caught in her throat, nothing more. She doesn't even feel frustrated about it...probably because he at least recognized her in some way.
"You claim you remember little...here," the half-vampire lightly tapped two of her fingers at his forehead, indicating his mind. With a small smile, she stared right into his blood red eyes as she continued, "It felt from a dream...probably because you still remember me right here." She had gently placed her hands onto Kaekeru's chest, right on his heart.
"You told me, when we first met, that you have a living..beating..heart..." Syani doesn't know why, but she's very close to tears at the end of her sentence. "You told me...that even vampires have them...or they can't live.." Her hands froze there on his torso, almost shivering, as she dropped her head low. Syani didn't want him to see her eyes welling again. And though she doubt his answer would be something good, she can't help but to ask with hope heavily driven in her voice.
"Remember?"

Kaekeru watched Syani closely as she spoke with a pained look in his eyes as he tried to remember as much as he could at this time. He glanced down to her hands that she touched to his chest then back in her eyes again. As she seemed to get close to tears again, Kaekeru looked a bit worried at her when she drooped her head. When she finished speaking, he moved his arms around her and gently but firmly pulled her close and held her as he closed his eyes.
"Syani...." He spoke softly to her. "No.... cry.... I..... try...." He tried to string a few words together to convey the message he felt inside to tell her. "I'm..... trying.... remember.... Syani...."

It surprises her, that even in his state of disremember, even when he had gone through something very painful, Kaekeru still knows, or instinctively knowing perhaps, how to calm her heart; his embrace.
Syani just stood there, being pulled into his arms, and after hearing what he's trying to say, rests herself against him. "Silly..." she whispered out, smiling in his hug, "I'm not crying because I'm sad... I'm just so...so happy to finally...see you again. Kaekeru."
She pulled herself off a bit, to glance up at the vampire's face and gazed with an air of determination in his blood red eyes, resolving something in her head. "I'll make you remember.. I'll heal you from your pain. Just...please don't leave me again.."
Her shoulders started jerking as her tears finally fell from her eyes, rolling freely on her cheeks, but she doesn't even mind. "Stay...okay?"[/font]

Kaekeru looked at her with a slight confusion in his eyes as she said she wasn't sad but happy. He suddenly felt a familiar happiness inside with her determination. The corners of his lips lifted slightly as he watched her and listened to her. "With you.." He said as he held her close again, his lips touching against the top of her head. "I.. love.. you." He whispered, his body relaxing somewhat and his eyes closed.

'He's smiling...' Syani cheered inside, her own smile lifting up at the sight of his. 'He's smiling!' The feeling is particularly familiar and takes her back from the first times she met Kaekeru; her attempts on making him smile and the sheer joy of spotting it.
Her grin stayed there as the vampire pulled her close and whispered the sacred words to her. Syani gently rests herself against him, replying a barely audible "I love you...too. Always.." All in all, the half-vampire is beyond glad to have finally found her lost lover, and although in his state of unpredictability, more on the dangerous side that is, Kaekeru still remembers her.
"You're covered...in blood," Syani slightly tilts her head up to face him, in reference to the redness of his attire and part of his face, some even got in his hair. "I'll take you to the lake. So I can wash you off. Is that alright?" She spoke slowly but clearly, with only the intention of trying to change him to who he formerly was and hopefully to relieve him of his pain.
She could feel her energy returning finally, so now teleporting is possible.

Hearing her replying that she always loves him, he felt a familiar warmth lighting up again. This woman was someone he cherished, there was no denying that. He wanted desperately to remember more about her, things he knew he used to know, reasons why this strange feeling had finally caught up to him only by the sight of her and the sound of her voice.
He looked down at Syani as she noted that he was covered by blood and offered to help him clean it off. A somewhat childlike appearance was in his face, like someone who knew nothing of pain and could only feel the good things in the world. His mind had gone temporarily blank of his pains as the warmth he felt inside from Syani filled his mind. He nodded in response and released her, taking hold of one of her hands almost instinctively so that she could lead the way.

Syani could easily notice the change in Kaekeru, there's something different in him now, but she can't put her finger on what exactly is it. Maybe it's that look in his eyes. He almost looked kind of...cute...in a way. Syani didn't even realize she's staring at him quite intently in curiosity.
Further backing up the cuteness is when he grabbed hold of her hand, which is a sure gesture that even Syani can understand that he's letting her lead, but then again, the half-vampire can't stop smiling at Kaekeru's childlike simplicity.
"You are adorable," she dryly said, straight to his face. Syani took a moment to stare at him, closing her fingers into his palm tightly, then slowly closes her eyes. A peaceful look had settled onto her face, and within the silent breeze of the wind, both of them disappeared quietly.
