It's such a strange gesture. Nobody ever bows at Zephel, and during the few moments that someone did, like Alessa just now, silenced him. Any acts of respec towards him, even once, would definitely made him respect them in every encounter starting then.
So as Alessa bows at him, Zephel responded by nodding politely back at her. The young lady even managed to surprise him again, when she suddenly suggested for him to be a part of their family. "H-huh?" Taken completely by surprise, his eyes are widening as he stares back at her in astonishment.
Cheeks slightly reddish a bit by the thought of anyone seeming attached to him, Zephel was quite touched by her offer. "W-well, I already promised Lilith that I would help her out.." He tried to speak that out without muttering. Really, since when was it so easy to throw him off-balance like this?
Zephel then looks at Mitsuko the whole while as she advised Alessa and uncovering more about the beauty of life; family. Unconsciously, he's smiling at the angel, mostly because nobody he knows can say about these things as deeply as Mitsuko can.
It's been a while seeing the angel in action, so to have the opportunity in witnessing this is refreshing to him. When she turned to face him, Zeph was startled a bit, now realizing that he's staring at her and awkwardly shifts his gaze away with a cough.
"Well yeah, who said things are easy.. Eveything that's worth getting is difficult, so what's the point of ever giving up?" Nodding at her to show that he agrees, the silver-haired let out a singular chuckle when Mitsuko described about the reasons why angels exist.
"You know. Without you, most of us would be completely lost." He admitted bluntly. "Have I ever thanked you for saving me back then? Yeah well... For that, and everything you have done for me, thank you, Mitsuko." It never really came to his memory if he ever did thanked her, but since he has the chance now, why not?
He watched the flower petals being blown towards the pair of sisters a few ways in front of him, it really did added in that effect to amplify the moment. Despite himself, Zephel inwardly feels proud of Lilith forgiving Alessa. Actually, he's been proud of her ever since she even listens to people.
Thus, he looks over at Lilith and Alessa with an almost tender gaze, truly pleased of their renewed bond. What's more is when Lilith turned to look at him...with a happy cheerful smile on her face. That's enough, that's more than enough for his reward in sticking up for her.
The sudden conjured words was supposed to surprise him, but after the incidents with Lilith using her powers around him, it doesn't startle him anymore. Actually, he's reading the words rather placidly, with a smile.
"Heh. It's a bit bumpy, but at least we all know that the road to a new beginning isn't bad at all. Now that you both found one another." He motioned to the sisters and then sighed, recalling why he's even here in the first place.
"And to think I just wanted to feed some kids.. Ended up helping in reuniting two lost sisters."
