Zero was really more than glad to know that Miki remembered that time, it's amazing how she was completely cured of her amnesia now, it made him happy. He completely ignored the crowd and just focused fully onto the readying angel at the edge of the stage, about to jump onto him.
When she did though, it was like slow motion. She jumped directly into his arms, so he managed to caught her perfectly. Zero laughed as he spun due to the inertia, reminiscing how Miki does this to him every time when they were a child.
He puts her down on her feet after that, and Miki suddenly brings up the memory of when she stole his nose. It wasn't just that, she literally did that to him, and to follow up her act, Zero spoke in a manner as if his nose was gone by blocking the air from his nose, "Ow no...mai' nose! It's gong!"
The bounty hunter laughed right after that, and that's when the angel began to sing back the song she just sang. The crowd follows around with her, and Zero laughed some more out of amusement.
"Magical day today, huh?"

Hunter, who had finished Miki's cotton candy earlier during her song on the stage, had stole Zero's cotton candy and took his sweet time to devour the candy while everyone was distracted by Miki's singing and hop-off-the-ledge stunt.
He needs to refill everything he just barfed out earlier, after all.
Hunter finished the blue cotton candy just in time when the crowd had finished singing the song altogether, so the eldest of the trio wrapped each of his arms around Miki's and Zero's shoulders, pushing the two from the crowd while yelling, "And the show is over! Give a big round of applause to the beautiful young angel, everyone~"
They did clapped behind him as he lead the two kids off to where they're supposed to go. "Cupcaaaakesss~" By the tone of voice he's using, anyone can tell he's either very hungry, or has an insatiably large sweet tooth.

"It isn't just this day that is magical, it's how we are finally spending time together, I know we have made a few stops along the way, but that's okay right? We haven't reached our goal yet. And before we continue on I would like to ask you something. A few hours before the firework show, I was wondering if you wanted to go to a special place with me, and don't worry it is a place you know very well. The place where we first met."
" i haven't been back there in years... But since today is a very special occasion since it is a huge milestone in our relationship, I would like to go back with you. It isn't just my home it is OUR home. Truth is you have always belonged somewhere, you always have belonged with me and my godparents. Even though you work in Veyyard, and even though you had stayed with me for only a month, you always had a place to call home."
"Oh.. Zero... Thank you for coming back I mean for setting out to find me while you are in your own journey of life. I'm sure you realize that reuniting with you means the whole world to me. I'm... I'm so used to people coming in and out of my life a lot.... But you came back and you stayed since you are so much stronger., a strong heart is what you have... Which reminds me.."
Mitsuko let go of Zero's arm gently in which she held onto for them to escort each other around, and took out a piece of paper.
"I feel I should read this now before we head to the cupcake stand. I.. just need a few minutes with you is that alright? I mean away from the crowd. For just a moment. Hunter you may go on ahead and wait for us at the cupcake stand, perhaps you can give us an idea of what cupcakes there are, when we come back. Don't worry I just need to borrow Zero alone for just a second. I... can't be interrupted with this."
Mitsuko hugged Hunter, she really didn't mean to leave him out for this moment but she had to read what was on that paper, that she had written. Besides she had saved it for this day. Even though she was tempted to let everything out at HQ, she had to restrain her feelings just a little bit and wait for this day.
and she took Zero's hand and led him to a tree covered in snow but it was pretty since the snow that covered the branches sparkled in the sunlight. While it was very cold outside there was a hint of beauty hidden behind the ice and snow.
Now that this day was here, she started to pour her heart out as she read this little note.
"You are my best friend because:
You are you You are paitent with me, you are my other half my twin soul. You protect me, and I wouldn't have it any other way
"You hug me. and make sure I'm okay especially when I am sad, you go out of your way to make me feel better even though you don't know what to say at times, you don't turn your back on me."
"you listen to me." "you eased my loneliness." "you understand me." "you accept me as I am, even if I cling onto you a lot and hug you often I thank you for accepting them."
She then looked up at her best friend after she read her paper and blushed a bit out of shyness. She wrote that note when she was thinking back at how beautiful their friendship has grown.
"Zero.... I love you."
She finally said it. that one moment that she had with Zero before they continued on with their day and surround themselves with the crowds again. The most important thing to take note of? She looked into his eyes, and pinky sweared him, as that is their symbolic way of knowing when one was honest.
"I... I'm sorry if that was a little forward but I have been wanting to say that for the longest time... I hope that didn't make you feel awkward. But it is okay to say I love you to a best friend, saying I love you doesn't always have to apply to the romantic sense."

"Alrighty, you two take all the time you want, but play nice~" Hunter waved them off as if he doesn't care, his eyes set on the cupcake stand. He received a short hug from Miki, so he responds with half a hug and then lets her go as she walked towards Zero.
As the kids made a turn, Hunter went straight forward to the cupcakes he so dearly loved. As he bend his upper body down, looking over all the cupcakes displayed, his eyes cornered to watch the pair of couple heading for a tree.
Hunter flipped open his phone nimbly, then made a short call to headquarters. "Yo~ Eve, she's reading that paper you're fussing about. ..Ye-- Yea, I-- Oh keep quiet, stop being so overexcited, I'm not your freakin spy, so no I'm not gonna eavesdrop them. Mhmm, you owe me an eclair anyhow. An eye for a cream puff~ Nice doing business with you. Ciao!" He then snapped his phone close, stuffing it back into his pocket and finally marvel with full attention towards the delightful cupcakes.

"Huh?" Zero's eyebrows hits his hairline in confusion at Miki's sudden strange request to go to a special place. He would've agreed to anything honestly, so he's confused on why she looks so anxious about it. Upon more listening, it's clearing quite a bit of confusion that the angel's talking about her godparent's home.
"Oh... Miki, I'm glad to." He answered with a smile, then nodded at her point that it's his home too. When the blonde angel admitted that people never really stayed in her life, Zero looked down. She has gone through so many hardships, it pains him to know that such a kind and amazing girl as her was thrown into such severities, she doesn't deserve all that pain.
"You're the one who found me, remember? Don't thank me about it," he runs a finger under his nose, wiping some vapour droplets there. It means a lot to him too that they reunited, but he doesn't have the flair to admit that through words. He's sure Miki understands him though, without him saying anything.
The bounty hunter then noticed the paper she held, glancing at it curiously. He was glad that Miki wants to stay away from Hunter for once, so he just nodded and takes her hand, letting her guide him to a snow-encrusted tree.
It sort of felt weird for Zero, she's in her peach mode again with her blushy face, so it's almost like she's about to confess or something to him. When Miki turned her eyes to the note to read out loud, Zero stuffed his hands in his jacket, both because he's genuinely cold and his palms started sweating.
His blue eyes only managed to stare in surprise as the angel reads her note, his eyelids widening. The wind blew gently as Miki reads it out loud, Zero's scarf with her hair danced along the winter gale accompanied by the gentle snowflakes.
His lips were parted, his jaw slightly hanging as he stared at the beautiful angel in front of him. His face held no emotion other than that, as she finished her note. She looked at him, and Zero could only blink when she admitted those three sacred words to him.
He knows exactly what she means, so he didn't need to hear his explanation in the end. That's why, when she was trying to explain, Zero took a step forward, raised his arms and caught her in a hug before she can finish. He just held her under the snowy tree, tightly in his embrace and he rests a part of his face against her golden hair.
Zero didn't say anything though...he just held her close. There are several reasons he can come up in his head though referring to his action. One, is because its automatic, it feels just right. Two, is because he can't hold his face straight any longer and there's a slight glassy texture on his eyes now that he didn't want Miki to see. Three, is because he wants to stall her long enough to wait for the liquid in his eyes to dry.
Thanks to the wind, it did dry off quickly, but he didn't thought for a second of the red tint that is now visible on his cheeks. Or...actually, he doesn't realized it. He embraced Miki for quite a while, and then gently releases her, still with his straight face, but now with a slight blush on his cheeks.
As he backed away from her, Zero immediately fished out his new touchscreen iPhone, the one he just bought. The young bounty hunter moves his finger on the screen for a while, his flushing face downwards. Then, after he's done, Zero holds the phone with his left hand and shoved the screen in front of Miki's face.
"I LOVE YOU", it wrote. One of his first words that he had learnt to write and read. It really took him months to remember the lines and circles to construct that phrase, and he used it at the right time.

The angel was as delicate as a flower in bloom. Her touch was soft and gentle, and her spirit, was free as ever. When she was with her best friend she could be as free as she wanted, without the fear of someone underestimating her or judging her. As Zero knew not everyone liked angels or believed in them, but she was glad that the person that she considered her best friend of her life, believed in her with all his heart. It was no surprise that she finally, said that she loved Zero. While she did show how much she cared for the bounty hunter through her actions toward him, and just taking care of him, she really wanted to tell him.
Those three words are important to hear since you never know when it will be too late to hear them, to even say them, or in Zero’s case to write them. She felt herself trembling a little as she did say them since it has been a few years since she said those words to someone, and ever since that day she never heard or saw those words again, since things in her life started to change. And the people in her life did leave.
So for this anniversary to happen, and for her to have another chance to say I love you to the one person, who did come back it meant the world to her, not to mention the fact that it did bother her because she was holding back those words for a long time and waiting the right moment to say it.
She had to withstand the temptation in just blurting out to Zero that she loved him since there is a time, place, and moment to say it. In Japan the words I love aren’t commonly spoken unless it is really meant by the person that is saying it. In the angel’s case she does mean it. It’s not for attention, or just for the sake of saying it. It is because she means it. She loves Zero’s soul, she loves his heart, she loves at the fact that he’s growing into the man that he wants to be, and she loves the fact that he’s her best friend. A person that she trusts with her whole heart.
Mitsuko then tried to explain that saying I love you doesn’t always have to have a romantic sense behind it, however Zero cut her off by embracing her. That’s when she knew that she didn’t have to always explain the basis behind her words. She felt his warmth surrounding her soul as he hugged her, and when the warmth hugged her soul she felt her own tears flowing from her eyes. She was incredibly thankful. She was thankful for everything: from how she felt at this very moment, to how she saved Zero’s life. She wasn’t cocky or high and mighty at the fact that she did save his life. She was thankful that she did. And she was thankful that Zero fought and made it.
Eventually Zero backed away and started to fiddle with his phone and the angel wiped the streaming tears from her cheeks, and only the tears under her eyes remained and they sparkled. She remembered someone once telling her that tears that sparkle are a person’s inner strength. Once Zero was finished with his IPHONE he showed her what was written across the screen. I love you it said. She stared at the phone for a good few minutes, and then she took out her blackberry phone and wrote the Japanese word for I love you: Aishiteru.
As she showed him her screen in return she said it means I love you, in Japanese, even though she said it in English, she wanted to say it in Japanese as well. And also the fact Zero would learn a new Japanese word in addition to what he picked up on while he stayed with Mitsuko and her godparents.
After their touching moment the wind blew a little more stronger and that caused the snow from the branches from the tree that they were standing under to fall on Mitsuko’s head. Laughing outloud even though she still had some tears stained under her eyes, she gathered some snow and began rolling it into a ball gently.
“Oh Zero, have you ever had a snow ball fight before? Well you won’t be able to say no anymore since… “
The angel threw the snow ball at him and before he could retaliate she ran and hid behind another tree giggling. For once in her life she was actually letting her inner child out and being spontaneous, since she didn’t plan to have a snow ball fight with Zero from the start, she just did it.

Though Zero doesn't understand a thing that Miki wrote to him on her phone, he stll smiled, because it's a funny sight really with both of them shoving each other's respective phones on one another's faces like that. Plus, she's doing the exact same thing he did, so he suspected she's writing the same thing.
And he's right. Miki just said it out loud again, his smile widens. Zero just needs to know what it means, and then it's all good. Everything feels good, it's like everything will turn out all right. Though, all of a sudden, a mass of snow fell from the tree right onto Miki's head.
Automatically, Zero burst into a fit of laughter. He was laughing so hard, he didn't realized the angel's readying a snowball in her palm. So it ultimately shocked him to have the ball of snow thrown onto him, though thanks to his reflex, his arm was able to block it from hitting his face.
He was still so clueless on what just happened and just stared in confusion of Miki hiding behind the tree. "..Huh?" was his only question. Being slow from birth had made it a little hard for Zero to adept to new situations or even games for that matter, so he just stood there, being the perfect clueless target that he is, and blinked.
He looked so lost, it's pathetic. "A...snow ball..fight?"
Slowly, he looked down on the snowy ground, then crouched down. He tried to scoop the snow, but before he can toss it, it just slides back down through his hands. Now more confused, he tried again, scooping up the snow with both his hands, puts both his hands together with the snow in between and throws it.
But it didn't even reached the tree before it breaks down into snow again.

“Zero, my pumpkin you must be gentle with the snow, if you’re too hard with it then the snow just falls apart see? Like what just happened? Here let me show you how to make a firm ball. It’s alright no need to get frustrated.”
Mitsuko went over to her best friend, and nuzzled his cheek to help him feel better and reassured that it even happened to her too when she first did a snow ball fight for the first time, she didn’t even have the slightest clue on what to do. She kneeled down beside him and took some snow in her tiny dainty hands and showed him how to form a ball with a bit of strength, and a bit of gentleness too.
Once she made one as an example, she helped him make one by putting her hands over his and guiding his hands to make a snowball and she did this with him for a few times just so he can get the feel for it, so he can do it himself. She smiled at him each time as she was teaching him, and once they made a good snow ball that he can use she backed away from him. She waved at him in a way saying to him
“You can’t catch me nanana boo boo.” Just so she can rile him out so he can have force when he throws his first snow ball.
She stood there like a target and she outstretched her arms out wide so he can have space to aim at her. She wanted him to practice, but she stood there with a smile on her face. She was happy to just have some child like fun with him, and his company, and just be like how they used to be before they became adults and had lots to deal with in adult hood. Mitsuko in a way was creating their child hood once again for Zero, since there were things that they didn’t get a chance, to do since Zero and her were separated. She still had those sparkling tears underneath her eyes but she was happy. To make it even more magical she noticed at the corner of her eye some materials to use in order to make a swing.
“Okay Zero now as I run from you, you throw your snow balls at me. Don’t worry it won’t hurt I want to see how you do with a moving target. You are a bounty hunter so I know you can do this right? While I make something here.”
She smiled to herself as she ran from Zero laughing and having fun, and she shout out to Zero: I LOVE YOU Zero! YOU are my best friend ever!”
Of course when she shouted this out a group of people stopped to stare but surprisingly they laughed and went on their merry way.
The angel started to make a swing out of the materials that she found and started to do so on a nearby tree that was there. A few minutes later the swing was finished and she went back to the bounty hunter vs angel snow ball fight.
"Alright are you ready? Let’s fight! Well play fight.”
She took snow in her hands and compacted it into a nice snow ball.
“I believe in you Zero.” [/color]

"I'm not frustrated.." Zero denied with a pout, though internally he wasn't really sure himself if he is. It's not like a situation like this never happened before, in fact it happens every time for Zero. He's slow, and he knows this, but recently he began to accept this shortcoming of his.
Perhaps acting like he's frustrated is a good thing, since he got nuzzled in the cheek. Zero watched with the fullest attention as Miki scoop up some snow in her hands and began forming it into a ball. The boy who's watching this however just blinked and occasionally uttered an "Ooohh.." It's like he's reverting back to himself 10 years ago.
After the demo, she then assists him in shaping the snowball, it makes him happy. Sometimes, he's glad he was born to be so pathetic, to be helped by this gentle angel is the greatest highlight of his day. After a number of tries, Zero finally get at least the gist of what to do.
Once they're done, Miki suddenly backs away from him, which kind of dissapoints him a bit since the lesson's over, but smiled anyway when she starts the game. Now with a decent enough snowball in his hand, he just stared there at the blonde angel standing a few distance away from him with her arms stretched out.
And then it came to him, "Wait... I can't hit you.." Zero just whispered that out though so he doubted Miki heard him. Playing around is good and all, but he just can't literally hit her with something, be it even using a snowball. He stared at her for a while, and he can see just how happy she is to be back in their childhood games, her blue eyes twinkled brilliantly. He wondered what's the right thing to do when seeing a person crying in front of them... Was he supposed to wipe her tears away?
"Huh?" Zero was awoken from his thoughts when Miki called out that she's going to run off for a bit while he throws. He just sighed with a smile, and as she runs off to a tree, Zero continued to make extra snowballs and tossed them around to test if it break down in mid-air like before.
"Miki! What are you doing?" Since he's a bit away from her, he yelled out to attract her attention while she's busy doing something with a tree. He watched her from afar while still crouching on the snow, making snowballs and throwing them around.
When she's done and returned to him to start the snowball fight, he tries to throw the snowball a bit away from her to test it out. It was pretty simple to predict where it's going, it's like the bullet of his gun, so eventually he did throw towards her, but purposely misses from hitting her. He just honestly can't bring himself to really hurt his best friend.
"Oh! Drat, why did I keep missing?!" he let out rather believably, since it's very like him to complain when things didn't go his way. Though, when Miki suddenly yelled out of a sudden that she loved him, Zero paused, his face immediately reddens. He cornered his eyes to see a group of people staring at them for a bit, and the bounty hunter just slapped his face with a hand to hide his face.
Too bad he forgot there's already a snowball in his palm.
So Zero did a little jump from how cold the snow is to be splattered on his face so stupidly like that, and then wiped the bits of snow from his face while laughing uneasily. That's probably the stupidest thing he has ever done. Still, it did made a few passer-by laughed at him, so he laughed along too with the bits of snow still on his face.

Mitsuko just smiled and enjoyed hearing her best friend laughing. Laughing was the best medicine after all and when Zero got snow on parts of his face she laughed too. Soon after the angel gently tackled him to the ground in the form of a hug. Yep her child like spirit was set free and then she laid down on her back on the snow and started to make a snow angel.
“Okay we can try the snow ball thing again later but I am glad to see you tried and you enjoyed yourself. When I see you happy I smile. At least I know this day means so much to you as it does to me so there is no reason to question it. What I am doing right now is a snow angel. You move your arms and legs at the same time as if you are flying through the sky. You know Zero I am not ashamed with anything I admitted to you today. It made my heart feel free, and not weighed down with holding stuff back. I am so blessed to have you, You are my angel from heaven. Hahaha!”
Since Zero was now standing after he was tackled and was just looking at her with curiosity and gentleness she took his hand after she sat on her knees away from her newly made snow angel and pulled him down and now he was in front of her and she hugged him from behind as she knelt upwards as she held him, just like she did when they were little. And since she was recreating their child hood memories it was fitting that she hugged him like that since she pictured the little boy again.
“I know you were frustrated, you can’t hide how you really feel away from me did you forget I know your heart?”
She giggled and a photographer came to them and took a few pictures using an old fashioned camera. More pictures were taken of Miki and Zero and all they could do was smile. After a while Mitsuko sat on the swing that she built and she looked at the sky. As she was about to say Zero’s name again she stumbled on it since her language was Japanese there was always that pronunciation the she messed up on, namely the R in his name. So to cover herself up she called him by his nickname pumpkin.
“Pumpkin…. Do you remember when we used to do star seeing as children? I still have the telescope that we used to back at our own home, would you like to do some star seeing with me when we go back? I’ll even show you your own star that I named after you. See since we were separated for years I needed something else to remember you by so I named a star after you. So whenever I looked up at the sky, I knew you were near too. You were never ever far away. But this is something that comforted me when I couldn’t be with you and supporting you physically. So I just looked at your star. Here is the certificate to prove it."
She took out a certificate that was in a frame and gave it to Zero.
“You are now officially a star in the sky.”
And she then showed him a picture of it.

"Whoa!" Zero let out in surprise when he was tackled to the ground with Miki on top of him, but then she rolled off and started to lay down on the cold snow while moving her arms and legs simultaneously. Still not used by how cold the ground is, he immediately get off of it and stood up, warming himself with friction as he rubbed his hands together.
He blinked his eyes when Miki explained to him she was making a snow angel, and smiled to know that she's having a good time as well as freeing herself from her worries for just this one day. As long as he can help her to be happy, then he glad he's still breathing and lived. "How many times have I told you to stop saying things backwards! Hahaha, you're the literal angel from heaven here, c'mon!"
Then he was pulled down to sat on the snow in front of her, and the next thing he noticed, he was back to the time when he was 8 years old. He was back into being a little boy. Zero only raised a brow and smiled at her inquiry of how he can't hide what he feels in his heart, responding nothing since the answer is quite obvious.
Zero was caught by surprise of the sudden appearance of a photographer, but since he was caught in the moment, there's basically nothing he could do but enjoy himself. After a while, he followed Miki to the swing, and while Miki sat there, Zero leans on the tree, looking up towards the same direction as Miki. A chuckle almost escaped his lips when the angel accidentally pronounced his name wrong, that always tickles him every time.
"...Star-seeing, huh?" Flashes of memory returns to his head. He was so small before, he can't even pronounce 'telescope' back then, but it's a wonderful experience to be star-gazing in the darkness of the night. "How can I forget?" He pulled his attention from the sky to look at Miki once she said that she named a star after him. "..You what??" He was surprised...did that happened before? Did he forget?
There were so many stars, he might probably forgot she even named one after him. Zero pushed himself off the tree to walk towards her when Miki showed her a paper, "Um...Miki, I..can't read.." He reminded her with a sweatdrop, but smiled anyway since he knows this paper is proof that there's a star that was really named after him.
"I can't believe this, when did you even do this..?" Zero asked in surprise as he stared at the picture for a long while. There's actually a star there, bearing his stupid name, yet it's a star. A real live star gleaming somewhere in space.
He turned to Miki again after realizing how big this really is, a permanent smile was on his face and he chuckled at her words. "If I'm a star in the sky, then you're the sun to my life, Miki." Since he never read, he can't know that the sun is also a star, so that means they're both just the same. What he does know, is a sun is the source of light, and he views his best friend as his source of light.
"You really are the source of light in my life."

Mitsuko looked at her best friend in the eyes as he smiled at the fact that he was now officially a star in the sky. To people that don’t understand the meaning behind their bond they would automatically say, “oh she’s in love with him, so that’s why she named a star after him.” That simply wasn’t the case. She named a star after Zero because she missed him, and he is her best friend.
Not WAS her best friend, IS her best friend. Without Zero her life wouldn’t be complete to be honest with you. Whenever she looked at his star in the sky after she named it, she always smiled, cried, and even talked to it as if he was there with her.
Being separated from him was one of the hardest things she had to experience in her life. Sure these two had to deal with various obstacles in their way but as long as they got through them together, then it wasn’t as scary to face those obstacles. Zero was a person that the angel needed to keep her balanced.
His fierce protective personality made her feel safe, valued, and was her shield to keep as much pain away from her as he could. She had endured so much already, but no matter how many times she has cried in front of Zero, and no many times she told him when something was wrong- especially when they chatted for hours over the phone, she knew that he would always come running.
This day, this specific day helped her get away from all of her worries that she was currently dealing with. Mitsuko still lived her life as normal as possible, and it was obvious to her that Zero was trying hard to do the same. This day meant the world to them, and for the angel specifically it reminded her what a miracle life can actually be. No matter what she had to go through, and no matter what Zero had to go through, both of them never forget to meet each other at what seemed to be an emotional roller coaster with no end.
If for example he couldn’t be the first one to reach out to her if he felt his emotions getting the better of him, then she would be the one to reach out to him first as his best friend. It wasn’t all about the things she did for him whenever he was feeling angry/sad/depressed but it was how she approached him, and made him feel.
Each person she took care of had different needs, and reasons why they had to be taken care of, though that didn’t stop her. She would always do her best to help someone.
Whenever Mitsuko held onto Zero’s hand she felt like he would never let go, and let her fall, and if she did fall he would just pick her back up again.
“I named that star after you a long time ago, around the time we were separated. You know how you have a thread that keeps you close to me, and it is an unbreakable thread that you never ever let go of and can never ever be broken? Well this is my thread. Looking at your star. I looked at your star and I’d talk to it as if you were actually there with me. I even wished upon it. I wished for you to always be well, and if you weren’t doing well, that you would get better soon. YOU are my smile Zero. You make me feel that I can do anything I want to do. I can’t ever be without my best friend.”
“So… I hahaha don’t have anything backwards Zero. I just speak from my own heart. Zero, no matter how beat up you feel about yourself during the times when you do feel down, never forget that I will be there to help you pick up the pieces.”
She smiled and took both of Zero’s hands in hers.

'It is as it is. Get on with it,' Faun had said to him every time a tear had carelessly escaped from his eyes. It's such a painful set of words for Zero before, he was so small and weak, so he just can't accept it as it is, he's trying to change and become stronger. Though, maybe he's looking at it the wrong way, maybe Faun's trying to tell him that things just happens sometimes.
Either way, Zero glad of whatever happened, of whatever pain he and Miki went through respectively, because in the end, the finally found each other, and that is possibly the best feeling the world can ever grant them after such a perilous and painful journey on their own.
The bounty hunter silently stared at her smiling face, takes in a deep breath and exhale slowly. He's living it now, in the future that he always dreams of as a child, to be meeting back the girl who saved him from damnation itself. It is how it is...just like now. What's happening is happening now...so he's glad that he's living through it now to enjoy this day with her.
Zero listened to her explanation when she started speaking about it, and that guilt haunts him from the inside again. Still, before it consumes him again like back at the inn, he fights it, and reminded himself that this is his power as well, she named the star based on him. He's important too, he chanted in his mind, to keep the guilt away.
It's poison to him, so he needed something like that to drive it off.
"Miki.. W-well, look at me now. Your wishes came true, I came out just fine 10 years later! Hahah, no problem." He gave her a thumbs up. Maybe its her wish that got him through everything, he was never particularly that strong to even live through this, everyone thought he'd die. "..Thanks," he smiled at her. Without her, he can't imagine how his whole life would turn out.
She held his hands again, and Zero sighed as he looked down in her eyes. "I won't forget. I never forget that you're here with me. You're in my heart every day, Miki." It's like his whole life was pulled around her, as if his very existence was for her. "Now you remember this. When you're in trouble, just call for me, holler me in your heart, I'll come running. I'll hear you. I will protect you."
Zero closes his fingers around her hands. In a way, she's holding him and he's holding her, they're holding together.

Mitsuko squeezed on his hands tightly and then as she stared into his eyes, that always had that gentleness whenever he looked at her she remembered something that she did just moments before this talk.
“This power isn’t for you but for US. Remember the song I just sang up there in front of you and everyone else that is enjoying the fair? Those were the lyrics that stood out. No matter what we do, we do it together. No one can tear us apart Zero, even though we were away for each other for a long time, look at this. We are together here and now. I’m not sure what the future holds, or where it’s going to take me but I will say this."
"You are my blessing. I have met a lot of people through out this journey of mine and while I have made friends and I acknowledge the fact that they are important to me, and I do love them dearly, there is always that ONE person that just made for us you know? We probably don’t understand why that is, but…. It is better not to question it. Just feel it, appreciate the bond that happened automatically. You were made for me and I was made for you. You were always in my heart to begin with Zero, even after all these years you never really left. I may have forgotten you, but I ended up remembering who you were as soon as we found each other and I was in danger.”
“I’m happy Zero. I’m happy that I have you back. I am thankful for this day and this time with you that I actually don’t want it to end at all, because I miss you. Always. I’ll always protect you too, not much physically but with my spirit. If your heart is hurting I’ll help heal it, if you need to hold my hand I will accept that action, if you need a hug, I will do so, and if you need to talk to me, at any time of the day when you are working I will listen to you. But most importantly, I’ll always love you. Never ever forget that.”
“And I’ll always call out to you when I need help, I promise. And I promise I won’t let you down.”
“I want to show you something before we go meet up with Hunter.”
She started rummaging through her cute tote bag that had cute little bunnies on it and took out a frame that had a picture and a saying on it. It was something she received as a gift from her god parents.
“You see this? This gives me an self esteem boost when I felt upset, but… I want you to have it. I know you can’t read it but I will read it to you. I know you have a good memory.”
This is what the saying said there was two actually.
Special people like you make everyday brighter. The lord makes his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you.
She placed the keepsake in Zero’s jacket pocket and shook her head when he was about to give it back to her since she said it was from her grandparents.
“No Zero. It helped me push through certain things now I want to pass it on to you, so keep it with you.”
The angel looked into the distance, still holding onto her best friend’s hands, and there she saw a Christmas tree in the middle of the park. There was a special section that was closed off just for this Christmas tree, and surrounding this Christmas tree there were lots of little children wondering who would do the honors of putting the star on the tree.
The angel giggled and kept hold of her best friend’s hand and led him to the big tree that was decorated so beautifully. The people looked at them and figured that they should do the honors of putting the star on the tree. Today was magical all right. Everything that happened so far today impacted these two best friends in some way.
There were two separate stools leading up to the tree and Mitsuko climbed one, and Zero climbed the other, and together they placed the star on the top of the tree.
“My best friend Zero and I want to wish you all a joyous and safe holiday season, filled with peace, friendship and love. I know a lot of you have been wondering if Zero and I love each other, as I see that question in each of your eyes. We do. We have loved each other ever since the first day we met. There was an instant connection that allowed us to become best friends, and become closer each day. It isn’t something we take for granted. We take it as a gift to be cherished. Speaking of gifts… Do any of you want to see a Christmas angel?”
Mitsuko heard a “we do we do!”, coming from the little kids, and so she climbed down the stool, and showed her angelic form, wings and all. Her power was based on the bonds that she had with people, but the one bond that was very strong due to the magical chemistry, was of the bond that she had with Zero.
“This is me. I don’t show my wings very often but… Here they are. Here is your Christmas angel, and she has a gift for each of you.”
Before she could do that though a child asked her if everyone gets a present even if they have been bad, since Santa doesn’t bring gifts to those that are bad.
The angel just smiled and explained what she believes.
“I believe that everyone deserves a present to open on Christmas. Even children that have been naughty. This is a season for giving, and everyone does make mistakes but that doesn’t mean they should be left out in receiving a gift.”
Mitsuko went in front of the children first and gave them each a gift, one got a doll, another got a toy car, one got a music box, and another got a snow globe.
The angel then went over to a couple, and the woman who was pregnant. The angel could tell that they wanted to know if they were having a girl or boy, so Mitsuko did a gender prediction technique in which she read about.
She took a piece of string, and took off her friendship ring, she attached the friendship ring on the string and started to hover it over the woman’s tummy after she told her to lie down on a nearby bench. If the ring that is attached on the string goes back and fourth that means she is having a boy, and if it goes in a circular motion that means, that they will be having a girl.
The ring started to swing in a circular motion, which gave her the answer.
“A girl. That is your present; you will be having a healthy baby girl. I don’t know when she’s going to be born, but I know she will have a happy, healthy life. I can tell that much. Congratulations.”

She smiled and then after a while she went back to her human form, red outfit and all, she did have presents for Zero but of course she would give them to him a little later. She went back to his side and took his hand so that they can escort each other, and after saying good bye, they went in the direction of the cupcake stand, and she knew Hunter had been waiting for them forever though he might be filling himself with cupcakes at the moment, since he was hungry.
She put back her ring on her finger as soon as they entered the stand, and there she saw a familiar person that she knew managing the cupcake stand, though he did seem troubled by something.
“White hair, a serious expression on his face, and helped me when I was distressed.. And a good friend of mine. Hello Zeph.”

This is possibly the happiest day of Zero's life, his best friend appreciated his existence, and that forms a magical comfort for him that lasts eternally. It's true, everything that Miki said to him is true. They're always together, and Zero intends to maintain it that way.
"Well yeah, we're soulmates, remember?" Saying that out made him thrilled somewhat. It feels like he belongs somewhere. He may not have any family members nor any admirable talents whatsoever, but that feeling of belonging outmatch any other depressing things in his mind. "I just wish...that we can stay together forever."
Hunter had a talk with him before, that Zero has to start acting like an adult sooner or later. That everyone has their own lives and soon Miki will lead hers, he has to stop depending on her all the time, to let her go soon. Zero's smile falters a bit when he was reminded of that, he's still that clingy little boy and in realizing this, he sighed. Hunter's right, he really needs to grow up.
The future scares him, but Miki just said that she's happy. Just by listening to her promising him that she'll be there made his lips curve back upwards yet again. "How do you always know what exactly to say to cheer me up?"
He only smiled in response when Miki said she wants to show him something, so Zero nodded and blinked as the angel got out a picture frame from her bag. He stared at the item, initially confused of what it is before Miki explained. "Wait, what? No! I can't take something that boosts your spirit, no way!"
The words does sounds nice, the bounty hunter has to admit, but he still refuses to take it since Miki has given to him enough gifts already. Though, the angel slipped it inside his jacket pocket, so Zero pulled it back to give it back to her, yet she shook her head no.
Zero pouted with a sigh. There's really no fighting her when she's being so stubborn, so he placed the picture frame back in his pocket with another sigh. He was just opening his mouth to say something when he was pulled by Miki somewhere.
It turned out she led him directly to a Christmas tree, the first that Zero has seen in his life. In Veyyard, people generally doesn't celebrate petty holidays like these, every day is filled with murders and kidnappings, so even the HQ is too busy to celebrate, much less putting up a tree.
Still, he followed up with Miki and puts the star on top of the tree. Zero was then steaming with embarrassment when the angel suddenly announced to the crowd of their relationship, since all eyes are on them and that makes Zero hides a part of his face with his hand. He's really not used to this at all. It's a pleasant surprise for himself that he's smiling all the while though after climbing down the stool and realizing that his cheeks hurt.
Zero just stood back as he watched Miki revealing her wings to the children, posing as the Christmas angel, then communicated with the children with such kindness, Zero just sighed with a smile. He took over in giving out the gifts to the children from under the Christmas tree when Miki went off to a random couple nearby.
The bounty hunter caught up with Miki when she announced the gender of the baby, so Zero stood there impressed. He nodded to the man and shook his hand for a bit as a gesture of congratulations, before linking arms with Miki and went to the cupcake stand together.
Zero could see Hunter's already at it so he rolled his eyes. Though when he heard Miki spoke of a man name Zeph, Zero's mind blared an alarm. "..Who is....Zeph?" His jealousy streak is coming near.
