The little boy's mother sat in the other row behind him and Hunter. She was a kind and gentle woman, and automatically noticed Mitsuko's fear of clowns.
"Don't be afraid dear. Perhaps you need to learn why you are afraid of clowns... Perhaps it's because you can't see their true identities so you don't know the real person inside the costume. As if they are wearing a mask. But don't worry, clowns don't hurt children or people..."
" Unless of course you have watched Stephen Kings IT where a clown murders children by luring them by a single balloon then you should be fine. And that nice young man is your companion today? Wait.... Zero right? OH I am so glad I bumped into you! I didn't get a chance to put a request on the bulletin board... But... You like kids right? Would you and your partner be willing to baby sit my son one day?"

It's quite surprising to hear Miki confessed the exact same thing that's troubling Zero since Hunter suggested to go on this ride. But unlike Miki, Zero takes pride of his ego, and macho law forbids him to utter even the tiniest shriek of the most scariest things he never tried.
"That's alright, Miki. The first-timers gets to feel a lot more adrenaline, because we have no idea what to expect. I mean, after we grow old, we can always remember this moment, because it's the first time we ride one.." Zero's not sure if he made any sense, he's not good in comforting people either way.
After that, he saw Miki turning away from a clown by the distance. Zero just blankly blinked at her a couple of times and asked, "What's wrong? Do you want me to shoot it?" He partly joked, but showed his rare sensitive side by putting his palm on top of the angel's hand. Just to let her know that though he knows nothing of her fear, he's still there for her.
Then out of a sudden, this lady popped in out of no where from behind Hunter's seat, and her guess of the fear a girl sitting 2 seats in front was spot-on. Zero looked up at this woman in surprise, '..Whoa, how..did she do that?'
He looked back at Miki, "You have a fear of clowns..?" But before he can even confirmed it, the woman spotted him, and straight up knows his name. "Eh? Uh..y-yeah, I'm...Zero.." he replied unsurely, he has no idea how his name was well-known even in here.
"Uh..w-whaa? Wait, huh?" How did this woman knows if he even likes children, she's creeping the bounty hunter out. Though, his personal preference of missions doesn't really count, if he's sure he can do it, then he should.
'B-but..today's my day off.....' "Oh, sure. Your baby son, huh? And... when is that 'one day' exactly?"

"D-did you say IT? I.. read the book and saw the movie once. Never again. A clown murders children and leaves a single balloon behind after his kill... in addition to luring those poor children to him. But.. I .... it didn't really cross my mind until now."
Mitsuko paused for a few minutes but perhaps this was a good thing, for all of her fears to come into light. Even though Zero felt like he couldn't comfort people properly, just knowing that he was assuring her that there was nothing to be afraid of, made her feel better. She believes anywhere her best friend is, there was always a sense of security and stability. No one has actually comforted her like that in such a long, LONG time so hearing his words did wonders in putting her fear to rest for now.
"Thanks Zero. You made me feel better I got what your saying. Enjoy it now since we are young. and when we get old and grey we have this fond memory to look back on, and laugh at how scared I was. Hahahaha!"
She then heard the boy's mother ask for assistance in baby sitting her son and all she could do was smile.
"If you want an extra hand I won't mind helping either. But... At the same time I feel like this will be a good experience for you Zero since you are protector of children. I think you should go for this job, yes?"
She encouraged him, and this time she put her own hand on top of his and nodded.

"OH don't worry, I don't want to take you out of what you are doing right now. Perhaps we can arrange a day next week? I mean after a day at the amusement park can make us all tired and we all need to recouperate so... you know I don't want to impose on you. It seems to me you are spending the day with someone dear to you, it wouldn't be right for you to help me right away especially when it's not an emergency, and leave your pretty friend there.."
The young woman nodded.
"I just thought before the roller coaster starts, I ask for your help before hand. And now that is now accomplished, let us enjoy the rest of what the amusement park has to offer. This was just built after all. Nice meeting you Zero."

Zero smiled back at Miki now that he sees her spirit back up again, "I don't know any ITs, but I do know that if psychopaths like those exist here, I'll definitely kill them." And he said it with a cheerful smile too, it's hard to tell whether Zero's just really happy, or the thought of killing sadistic clowns is his happy drug.
Turning to the woman at the back, Zero unknowingly heaved off a sigh of relief at her statement. He chuckled at Miki's enthusiasm of taking care of children, since he does know that for fact; he's the very proof of it.
"Yea, yeah, I know. I just can't...understand how so many people has suddenly dubbed me the mighty 'protector of children' out of the blue like this," he scratched his head, truly confused. Last time he checked, he wasn't THAT famous, he's just a normal bounty hunter, despite being the youngest. There's nothing special with what he does, at least from Zero's eyes.
"Yes, okay, fine~ I'll gladly take the job," he nodded to the lady with a faint smile. He's just glad that his day wasn't ruined just yet, it's their friendship anniversary after all. If there really is an emergency, he'd kick Hunter into it. Yes, Zero can be that selfishly clingy when he wants to be.

Hunter chuckled, so all three of them has never rode the roller-coaster before. He looked at the child beside him, and wondered for a moment why didn't he sat with his mother at the back. '...Probably one of the seats taken.'
Then the lady from behind sparked a conversation between them, and Hunter just smiled. It's rare to have such a decent conversation back at Veyyard, there's bound to be AT LEAST a stabbing or a gunshot nearby, it's never too peaceful like this.
When Zero accepted the woman's job request, Hunter could only smirk. He pulled out a card from his shirt pocket, and handed it to the lady, "Here ya go, miss. I'm with Zero there. Just call the number there when you need our help, kay?" He tilted his hat down in acknowledgment before focusing to the kid beside him.
"You nervous? Haha, don't worry, big bro Hunter's here~" When in truth Hunter's just saying that because he himself is nervous. A whistle was blown, and suddenly, the ride began to move a bit. "GAH IT'S MOVING, ITS STARTING!!" Hunter cried out in surprise, his scared tone makes the kid beside him laughs.
Then, the ride slowly made its way on the rails before zooming with such speed up and down, round and round, that screaming is definite. The roller-coaster zoomed in above the entire amusement park, it's almost like they're riding a dragon circling its property. Then comes a huge tall hill-like structure, where the roller-coaster must climbed vertically, so its so slow.
When it reaches the top, it dramatically pauses for a moment before zooming down at a frighteningly high speed, Hunter even let out his less refined girlish scream. After another round of circling the amusement park to get back to its starting point, the ride finally slows down, and the whistle was blown, indicating the passengers can safely get out of the ride now.

When Mitsuko heard Zero's words she laughed. She felt safe and protected by Zero so what he says to her in regards to killing the clowns if they are psycho's didn't scare her. She gently nuzzled his cheek as a a thank you and just as she was about to call him by his embarrassing cute nickname that she called him by when he was younger, the roller coaster started.
The angel felt her heart stop just briefly as she never experienced this before, but with the simple comforting touch of Zero's hand letting her know that there is nothing to be afraid of since she's strong, her heart started to go in its regular beat again, and she started to scream and laugh at the same time once she began to let loose. Since today was a very special day Zero and Miki were more in sync with each other. They both screamed in enjoyment of the ride, and laughed together.
For the first time in a long time the angel felt free even more then what she was feeling days before their special anniversary. Whenever she was with Zero, and her new family at HQ she felt like she can be herself even more without someone watching her. And for that she was extremely happy. Happy that she had wonderful friends, and a wonderful best friend for life.
The roller coaster soon stopped and Zero and Miki came off slowly, since after a ride such as that one, one would be bound to either throw up but it was so worth it.
"Zero... that was frightening... but I felt free."
She smiled and looked back at Hunter who had seemed dazed.
"Hahaha are you alright Hunter?"

Before the roller-coaster started, when Miki nuzzled him for the first time that day, Zero knew that today was not just a great day, it's going to be a spectacular day. He can feel it. He wore a huge grin throughout the whole ride, screaming and yelling when necessary as the ride goes in loops and circles and hills at mach speed.
But Zero doesn't care. He's just so happy his best friend beside him is enjoying herself, he just screamed along with her. At one point, when the ride was climbing atop of the very steep hill and about to fall of super fast at the other side, Zero automatically grabbed and clutch Miki's hand, his stomach is churning, it feels like he's almost flying. His eyes are upwards, staring towards the clouds of the sky. In that moment, he really felt like he's a bird, flying.
When the ride drops down, Zero screamed and laughed all at the same time; the adrenaline must have excited him. It felt amazing. After the ride slows down, it's only then that Zero noticed he's holding Miki's hand, and immediately let go in embarrassment.
They slowly went out of the ride, Zero seeming more refreshed than most of the passengers, there's a rare sparkle in his eyes as he stretched his arms. "That was fun!" Exclaiming like a little boy, he totally contradicts Hunter.

Hunter looks even worst than any of the others who rides the roller-coaster. One hand on top of his hat in an attempt to keep it in place, the other hand slapped over his lips. He looks sick, yet he straightens himself up and give the children his thumbs up, "Just...great.."
He took a few steps forward unsteadily for a bit, but then he turned to them both while gesturing a time-out, then ran off to find the nearest toilet or garbage can, whichever he sees first.
This is what happens when he eats too much earlier before he even came here.

As they came off the ride together and Zero had mentioned how fun that was, once again they just let out laughter. How can they hold it in after what they had just experienced together? What also was the source of laughter was how they poked fun at how their facial expressions looked as they were screaming at the top of their lungs, in addition to just being happy with each other.
Already their day was off to a fantastic start.Mitsuko was glad that they were celebrating a friendship anniversary. Not many people do that, since some think it's cheesy,
but, Misuko and Zero didn't really care about what others thought of them for celebrating their friendship. And right now, right at this very moment they were living one of the principles that the angel believed in. Making your life count. Making each minute , second, and hour matter.
Mitsuko did a quick spin on her feet since she was so joyful. Surviving what she was nervous about, had reminded her that she can get through anything as long as she doesn't let her fear over come her, and Zero was right there with her.
The angel's eyes glanced over at the cotton candy machine and she laughed. She was about to get Zero hooked on another candy besides jellybeans.
"Zero I hope you don't mind but I will be treating you to one of the most wonderful candy there is, besides jellybeans. Cotton Candy. I'll be right back."
The angel went up ahead and got Zero blue colored cotton candy, and got herself a pink colored one.
"Go ahead you go first and tell me if you like it."

Zero scratches his hair when Hunter made his escape, asking himself how can that amazing ride be that bad for Hunter. Then he heard Miki excusing herself to go buy a sort of candy, which perked Zero's interest.
"Hey! Don't you compare jelly beans with other candies!" Zero jokingly fumed, defending his favourite candy, but eyed her as she goes to buy the mysterious cotton candy. Living in Veyyard, it was rare for Zero to get the chance or luxury to even discover about these things.
He was surprised to see what Miki bought when she returned, "What the? It looks like a fluffy bee-hive, I'm not eating that." Zero made a face, though right after that be burst out laughing, "I'm kidding, I'm kidding. ...Is it really edible, though?"
He takes the blue colored 'fluffy beehive' and stared at it for a short moment. Then he tried to lick it, and finally takes a bite of it. "Mmn!! Miki! It melts in my mouth...!" The bounty hunter exclaimed in surprise, really did not expect for something so fluffy can do things like that.
"Oh, and it's sweet too!"

Hunter had just returned from the toilet, his face a bit pale. He groaned for a bit, rubbing his temples in frustration that his whole lunch just went in the drain like that.
Just as he's walking back to the area near the roller-coaster's entrance ride, his eyes caught a glimpse of colour in between the crowd of people. Hunter paused for a moment, staring sharply at that soft amber-colored...dress.
The crowd seemed to cease all of a sudden, and Hunter could finally see who's wearing that familiar dress. "Oh...shit." Immediately, he bounded off from where he stood and hid behind a nearby cotton-candy vendor. Peeking out of his hiding place, he bit his lower lip at the sight of a very fine woman walking through the mass of people, her amber dress swaying softly behind her with every step.
"..G-Grace, what the hell are you doing here..?" he asked to particularly no one, watching the woman walks off until he can't see her anymore due to the thick crowd of people. After Hunter's sure she have walked far enough, he quickly rushed out and fortunately, found Miki and Zero a few ways away.
"Oh you two, I'm so glad I fo-- Is that cotton candy?" He pinched a piece from Zero's blue one to take a bite, which Zero hissed at for stealing his candy.
"So what's ne-- Ooohhh~! Is that a cupcake corner?? Wow, I love cupcakes!!"

"Hahahaha! See isn't just simply amazing? It's so weightless and it's not heavy for someone if you just need a quick light sugar rush to perk you up. And I just love it how they make blue for guys and pink for girls. Oh I should show you later how they make them, I think it will fascinate you how they twirl it around and around!"
And with that she slowly twirled around and around allowing the fresh winter air to guide her steps, even though she can't really dance like a ballerina, she tried it and well she didn't look silly for once. In fact some people even clapped and were receptive to what she just did. She was a familiar face to a lot of people just like Zero was, and so she took a little bow and gently intertwined her hand with Zero's arm so that he could escort her again (well escort each other) , and also so that they wouldn't get separated.
As Hunter came back and drew attention to the cupcake corner the angel smiled excitedly and at the same time she felt like she was going to meet someone very familiar. Someone in which she hadn't seen in months. As the trio began making their way towards the corner, the angel had stopped to see a stage. There were people doing a mini play however they needed a singing voice to close the show. Since she hadn't sung in while she decided to use this special day to sing another song to her bounty hunter.
Today was like an adventure to them both so when they made a few stops along the way to another activity they both made the most of it. The play that was being acted on stage was about not giving up, and letting people into your heart. So she smiled to herself, and looked at Zero, in which he nodded in giving her the okay.
Mitsuko knew that Zero was very supportive of everything that she does, especially her musical ability, and she didn't have to ask him when it came to doing something that she loves, but she was polite. This was their day after all and she didn't want to just let go and head on stage without him knowing. She told him politely to be in the front of the audience, and keep enjoying his cotton candy. She gave Hunter hers, so that he wouldn't take anymore from Zero, let alone did she want any accidents to happen.
Mitsuko climbed up the steps of the wooden stage that was there, with the assistance of a young man who was the director, who had held her hand to give her that boost as she went up the steps. She was handed a microphone, and looked out at the audience that had just magically started to grow in an instant but when she looked at Zero and Hunter they encouraged her that she was going to be just fine, and to not be nervous. It was sweet since they were her own personal cheering section.
She let out a few silent deep breaths, and started to just let out the song that she heard a while ago.
The lyrics were meaningful though along with the fact that it was a fast moving song for once, and not something that would make people mellow down, but pump them up, and since this was her anniversary with her Zero, this day was all about letting loose with the other, and well just being free from all of their inner turmoil that they were dealing with.
So she sang.
You feel helpless Wondering if you’ve reached your limit You sink into a state of oblivion And then a hand enters your fading consciousness Saying “Don’t try To do everything by yourself”
“I’m here Watching you” Opening up your closed world
Here I am, let me be your wings There will always be someone by your side To share the moment with you Here I am, let me be your wings When we trust someone We can fly any time
But you can’t keep being dependent To take in that love and give love of your own The reason you were saved is in your hands If this is a bond, we can’t let go of it
This power isn’t for me But for us The power to make the impossible possible
Here I am, let me be your wings So I’ll keep screaming too So I don’t lose sight of who I am Here I am, let me be your wings Our hearts beat as one And a true courage is born
Here I am, let me be your wings There will always be someone by your side To share the moment with you Here I am, let me be your wings When we trust someone We can fly any time

Zero laughed and clapped along with the crowd when Miki began to twirl around the slightly snow-encrusted soil. He's just immensely glad that everything that's happening is real, and not in his dreams anymore. That Miki's right here in front of him, laughing and dancing, it made him feel thankful of himself that he clung to the thread of life when there's virtually no thread at all he could hold on to.
If he didn't hold on to that imaginary thread, he wouldn't even be here, having the time of his life. Miki retreated back beside him, the warmth of her hand linked onto his arm brought him back to reality, and he smiled down to her as they accompany each other though the crowd.
Everything's happening so fast, Zero's smile doesn't even have the time to drop. When Hunter pointed out the cupcake corner or whatever it is, Zero tries to look through the crowd to detect any sort of cupcake...but alas, he doesn't even know what a cupcake looks like.
As fate have it, Miki spotted a stage. Zero knows what's going to happen from the look on her face, so he lets her go up on the stage and fought through the crowd in order to get to the front row of the stage. He cheered for her, and supported her to not be nervous before she sings, and once she does, Zero's transported to another world.
Her singing does that to him every time. Unlike the rest of the crowd who were jumping around and dancing to her singing, Zero just stood there, his eyes onto the angel singing on stage. While people enjoyed her singing, Zero enjoyed her voice and her words.
It refreshes him in a way, he was staring up at her with an unconscious smile all the time, he didn't even realize Hunter stole his cotton candy with a swift swipe. Once she's done singing, Zero clapped, though rather calmly unlike the rest of the others who's whistling.
Then he outstretched his arms towards her, almost as if wanting to catch her. "Miki! Miki, jump onto me!" He laughed, remembering the time when she pushed him on the swing as a child, and at one point he was too scared to get off the swing since his foot still hurts, so Miki had yelled at him to jump onto her. She always caught him, every time.
"I'll catch you!" Zero yelled, rephrasing her line from back then. "Trust me!"

After she sang an instrumental version of the song began to play, and it was at the right timing too since Zero was telling Mitsuko to jump onto him and she remembered what she told him back then. She nodded and smiled.
"I trust you!"
Mitsuko went to the edge of the stage, and everyone was looking at her in amazement, it was as if she was going to do a stunt just for entertainment but she was just going to jump to her best friend. She felt the beat of the music and Zero's words guiding her and with one swift moment she jumped in Zero's arms without using her wings. She jumped without the support of her angelic powers, she embraced the human side of her. When she landed safely in Zero's arms he spun her around since that was a natural movement for anyone to do, when they caught someone and then again she did it to him when she caught him as a little boy.
"Hahahah when I used to catch you as a little boy, I used to also pretend I stole your nose away like this."
She took her two fingers her index and middle finger and gently pretended like she was stealing his nose away, when really she had just put her thumb in between those two fingers.
"Uh oh you don't have your nose anymore Zero. hahaha. I'm kidding. This was just a fun trick to do for little kids."
Mitsuko then turned slightly to the crowd and she sung the song that she just sang without the music, and amazingly they started to sing with her, and when she stopped they continued.
"You guys are a natural!"
