This is unreal. This is so unreal for Leo. All his life, he never could see this moment happening, even the slightest. He didn't even know he has the ability to 'attract', for heaven's sake...
He's a freelance artist, and a traveler to boot. The chance to bump into the same person in his travels by fate more than 3 times is unfathomable, Rayl has beaten that record, by far. Not just that, things kept happening every time and entwined them in strange situations that required them to rely on one another...well, mostly Leo towards Rayl, at least.
"Ah..that's right..." The artist muttered of her simple answer, 'It really did just happened.' His mind confirmed. His lips was then sealed tight in surprise of her last statement.
'She's half a human and she's better than me in being honest with her heart. ...What is WRONG with me??'
As pathetic as it sounds, Leo doesn't connect with his heart often, or much less listens to it. His thoughts pretty much rules over everything, but now that the situation requires him to use his heart for a change, it's not that easy.
"I... Uhm..I'm not sure, that my feelings for you are..that strong. ...Or possibly because I couldn't read my own feelings well. ...But I do understand that you're very important to me, and I care about you more than most others..."
He did not even realized he hasn't let of of her hand.

Rayl blushes as her gaze turned towards Leo, her eyes softened then. No one have never treated her something as important, except her parents who were long gone in peace. And now, this guy, who she have met from time to time have given her a space in his heart.
She looks down and see that Leo haven't let go of her hand yet. She slowly understands now; both have a special feeling toward each other, both haven't felt the 'spark' not until Rayl's confession, both were innocent when it comes to love.
"I understand... I guess," she quipped out, her eyes full of sincerity. She nodded and raised her head, meeting her gaze. "It's alright, don't push yourself on it..." she let out, gently squeezing his hand assuringly; letting go afterwards.
"I should go now... just take a rest. this place really is cold." she let out, she suddenly pause when she remembered her state. She was an assassin Leo have once been idly at her presence. She have never asked him if he have accepted her as a friend when both have met way back in Iron-Maw.
"Tell me, Leo," she let out, suddenly turning her back onto him. "Have you accepted the fact that I am an assassin who could kill anyone?"

Leo was honestly a bit startled to see Rayl's eyes so serene like that when she faced him. It struck him then and there, that even the most coldest of hearts can find love. He jumped a little when he felt that soft squeeze on his hand and watches as she releases his hand.
He didn't know why, but the artist found himself staring at his hand in a daze. Thus is why he sounded distracted when he caught back his focus, "H-huh? What?"
Leo tries to repeat that question in his mind, staring into nothingness as his thoughts began to process. "What do you mean? That's what you do. I do my job, you do yours. So what's the problem?"

Rayl blandly looked at him, though for a minute she was in a deep thought of Leo rejecting her job. her being an assassin, but it surprises her that this guy have nonetheless, well he said it that it doesn't matter because it's their job to do. But in their first meeting, the said guy was afraid of her. She looked up at the guy, "But you were once afraid of me, thinking that I would kill you, right?" she asked, a smirk plastered on her face.
She looks at her mask and sighed, "I should go now... I guess?" she let out, though she was doubting to do so. She wanted to hear Leo's point of view, whether she will go or she will not and just stay here at her house together with him.

Leo's eyeslids settled into a close. He almost let out a nervous chuckle at Rayl's teasing. "Yes, I was. Though, that was before I knew you." The reason why he's closing his eyes is he wants to avoid seeing that smirk of hers, to save whatever bit of dignity he may have left.
The artist paused, staring at Rayl for a moment when she wants to take her leave. "Ah. Alright.. It would be selfish of me to keep you off of your duty." He nodded, allowing her to go, but then he heard slight knockings on the door.

Sean held on onto his oversize black cloak against the harsh winter gale. He made a small step, pausing every once in a while to catch his breath and to keep his balance in check, before taking another step.
He was taking refuge inside the temple nearby and went out in search of food, when suddenly a blizzard burst forth. The 8-year-old was trapped in the snow storm, but due to his winter upbringing, he's almost immune to the extremely cold weather.
Though, he's still a human, so he can't hold on for too long. The boy's imaginary friend, a large white owl by the name of Celeste, which is actually a spirit guiding him, had directed him right towards a house nearest to the area.
Sean moved slow, but surely. And finally, he's standing at the doorstep of the house, hoping somebody's in there. Bringing up a tiny fist, the little boy knocked on the door.

Rayl frowned as she heard a knocked at her door. She looked at Leo, "Weird... no one have visited this place for a long time..." she let out, her eyes full of confusion and curiosity.
She take a hold of her mask, then looked at Leo; she can't lower her defense now. It would endanger the both of them; the place is really away from the town. It would take everyone a two to three hour trip up to where she lives. "Stay there for a meantime, Leo..."
She strides her way at the door, holding the knob and opening it. She felt a strange presence after opening the door, she looks down and she was surprised to see a boy wearing a black cape, standing in front of her door.
But what got her curiosity is a vague owlish resemblance at the boy's shoulder, perching on it. But noticing the strong gushing of snow and wind; she holds the boy's hand and quickly dragging gently the boy at the place. "Boy, what are you doing here?" she let out as she then looked at Leo, then gaze down at the boy. "Where are you parents? Do they know you're here..?"

Leo was as puzzled as Rayl is to hear the knocks. Honestly, he was about to head towards the door, but the assassin ordered him to stay where he is, so he did.
With everything he had presumed he would see standing at the doorstep, Leo was thoroughly surprised to see a small little boy there. He blinked in mild surprise, where did this child came from? The blizzard outside is dangerous, and he seemed to be wandering alone out there for quite a while.
The artist rushed towards the door to close it once Rayl had pulled the boy in. Once he does, Leo took a glance of the tiny child in puzzlement and wonder.

Sean was in the verge of collapsing when the door was suddenly opened. He tilted his head up to see black-clad lady there. Celeste's sudden hooting surprised the boy, but he doesn't even have time to respond to his imaginary owl since he was pulled in.
Being allowed in the house was more than a relief for Sean, now he can live longer to complete his mission. Now that he's inside, he could see this lady's not alone, there's another man with her. Just when the child is about to observe the situation, a question was asked towards him.
"What do you mean what am I doing here?" he snapped. It's only a moment after he said that he realized his tone of voice a little sharper than usual. Probably because he dislike people looking down on him just because he's younger than them.
"I was out searching for food, then I got trapped in a snowstorm.." he surly replied with a hint of bitterness in his voice. "I was wondering if I could find shelter here for the meantime till the blizzard stops." Now his tone started to get a tad softer.
Though, when the woman mentioned of his parents, that bitterness was back and it can even be seen in his facial expression. "...One of them disowned me and the other didn't even know I exist. Was out trying to find the latter, actually."
Though Sean is a child, he doesn't act like one at all. The way he speaks sounded like an adult, and he intended to too. Never in the world would a child wears an expression that serious.

She wondered how can this boy could stay up a fight for the blizzard, though she figured the boy would be one of those human who lived something like this place. She let the boy sit at the couch, a bit away at the warm fireplace.
The boy's sudden snapping have made her looked at the boy surprised, though she retained from snapping back as well. She knows how the boy feel, the boy think he was being underestimated. Kids like this boy... and animals, was one of Rayl's weaknesses. She doesn't go cold towards those things.
Her eyes soften at what she heard, just as the by could see the softening look of the ice maiden; she stood up, her back in front of the kid. "I'll go fetch you something to eat..." she let out, her voice cold; though a hint of worry resides there.
She suddenly looked at Leo who stood near the door, since the guy have closed it. "I'll prepare something to eat first..." she let out, leaving the two boys at the living room; while she, on the other hand, preparing the foods they will gobble.
Albeit not cooking, she have bought something on the town some foods. Some salads, chocolate cakes, an Oolong Tea, Jasmine tea, meats and breads.

Leo was slightly startled of how bold this kid is to start barking at the owner of this house so freely, but as he glanced at Rayl, the lad could almost swear he saw something different in her features.
The artist just stared from afar, watching how the assassin handled a child; seating him, restraining from snapping at him and offering him food, even. Safe to say, Leo was impressed.
His eyes met Rayl's when she announced that she'll prepare some food, and almost automatically, Leo responded, "A-ah, allow me to help you." The artist followed Rayl to the kitchen, glancing at the strange black-haired child while making his way there, and when he thought they're far enough from the living room, Leo attempted to start a small discussion with Rayl.
"Not that I'm any good in defining 'normal', but that boy is not normal...in my opinion. He looks 10, but he acts like he's 20." Not that he thinks the kid is dangerous, but the puzzle just didn't fit in Leo's head. "..Are you sure it's the right decision to let this child in?"

Sean frowned. Well, he always frowns, but now it's deeper and more apparent. He doesn't like both of those grown-ups one bit, though he has to rely on them for now since he's in desperate need of shelter.
He didn't reply at all when the woman stated she'll get him food and just sat there on the couch, gazing sharply towards her. He silently clicked his tongue, almost in nuisance, at how the man avoided eye-contact with him. Sean just trailed his eyes towards them until they're out of his sight.
'Do I look that weak and helpless?'
"...Celeste. Meeting this people drags my mood down," he whispered to his imaginary owl, who doesn't responds at all. At this, Sean sighed, pulling his legs up on the couch and settled his upper body to lean, his eyelids getting heavier.

Rayl continued arranging the foods, until Leo have followed her in the kitchen; helping her to arrange the foods. She paused once she heard Leo spoke. "Being alone with no one to depend upon... we do sure acts mature; you're the same as well," she answered as she slice a bread and place some vegetables and slices of chicken steaks. She started to put a mild hot chocolate, for the boy not to let the boy's tongue burn.
She stopped, "It's the right decision... I guess," she let out as she turned to face him. "No matter how cold an assassin I was, I don't let children walk through the path I have been through..." she let out, her eyes soften; a sadden look appeared in her face. The boy, she knows that he doesn't like to be with such people like them. She could feel how the boy was irritated when she only worries of him.
She saw a remaining bread and chunk it into pieces, for the animal. She looked at Leo, "This okay now... just give this to the child, I'll get some warm blankets for him upstairs," she let out, an strange thing to do; other than letting her feelings out and expressing it to Leo.

Leo stood there, his eyes staring blankly at the assassin while considering her words in his head. It's every bit of truth infused within. Still, that child is so young, is it even possible for him to walk on his own feet through the continent?
The kid just proved he can.
The artist gazed at Rayl as she spoke of her opinion about children. In some way...he can't help that growing smile on his lips. "I see you're good with children. ...Maternal instincts, perhaps?" He half-pondered out, half teasing her, as she asked for him to give the food to the boy.
That's when he noticed the chunks of bread she had cut. His first guess is it's for some kind of animal, since it doesn't seem like the type children would find attractive to eat. "Um...why did you...cut it into pieces like this?"
Leo's a mere human, he's unable to see the owl Sean owned.

Rayl couldn't quite figure out what is she doing, but basically; being alone for so many years. Travelling, doing missions, being a lone wolf; she never really think of what happiness means. But now, in front of a kid whom doesn't smile; she feels that she wanted to help him. Though, she will never be a mother at all. Just guide a child to where he really belongs.
She raised an eyebrow at Leo. Ah, Maternal Instinct... she shook her head, "It's not maternal at all..." she let out as she raised her head and looked at him. "Just wanted to guide him where he belongs... Maternal... sounded like love. I don't have that quality." she describes as she looked at the chunks of bread.
She looked confusedly at Leo, furrowing her eyebrows; and it hit, Leo haven't seen the owl. Only her and the kid. "It's for the owl that was perching on his shoulder." she simply said, patting Leo's shoulder. "Don't worry... you'll see the owl... I guess," she let out, leaving the kitchen; she made her way at the guest room just at the farthest side of the house.
She quickly pick up a blanket, some decent sweat shirt that could fit at the boy. She added some white shirt and loose pants. If ever the boy wanted to change his clothes on.
