Rayl looked at him and nodded, "Yes," she let out as she looked outside. The blizzard haven't lessen, "A city nearby always has this issues going around. So the former owner of this place wanted the city they were living now to be peace..." she let out, remembering the old man whom given this house to her.
Though she paused and looked up at Leo, she smirks. "I don't believe about divine and almighty... though my parents do," she answered, suddenly muttering but can be heard her last statement. "My mother is a human, my father is a demon. That turns me into a half-breed," she answered looking away. "I now demons who believe the divine,"
She looked at Leo and couldn't help but scoffs. "What I am doing?" she asked to him, she looked down. "Like I told you, I am an assassin. I kill people, innocent or not..." her eyes narrowed. "In my country... or rather in the world I am in... there is no freedom for such a half-breed like me. The country that is full of assassin have no mercy on half-breeds like me. And yet, it seems those assassins who live in our country doesn't have the guts to kill me... because no matter how strong those humans are. They can't beat demons, or for my matter... half-breed."

"A city nearby..." Leo repeated with a mumble, there is no city when he first walked here....or maybe he never noticed it with the blanket of snow constantly hiding everything from his sight. "I see..." He's not that surprised of the news, he had witnessed Rayl in action with his very own eyes, so he knows how perfectly capable she is to handle such dangerous tasks.
The artist could only nod meekly at her statement of the divine, and the slight exposure of her family. He stared at her blankly as she avert her eyes from him, and suddenly the random opinion was said. "Aren't you glad to be a half-breed?" It never occured to him of how Rayl truly feels of her race, but Leo thought it's no harm to state out what he truly feels.
Since he doesn't do so very often. "If you ended up being a full human, then you're the same like any of us. If you're born being a full demon, then I don't think I'd be alive back at Iron Maw, frankly speaking." He played with his memories as he spoke, it's now clear for him to see that the only reason she helped him is probably because of the slight speck of humanity in her blood.
"I'm glad you're you."
On further disclosure about her hometown, Leo frowned. His mind buzzing with theories and reasons of how it become like so. "That's...slightly disturbing, to say the least." He finally said out after a moment's pause. It's difficult of him to choose what to say, since he's naturally insensitive and he didn't want to accidentally harmed her feelings again.
"Hey...Rayl.." The lad spoke up, his low tone of voice indicating that he almost want to take back the question he's about to ask, but since he already gained her attention, might as well pick up some guts and ask. "If, say, there's a mission for you to assassinate a man named Leonard de Piero. Would you do so?"
He expected her answer would be yes, but then again, he's curious.

Rayl paused as she looked at the window near them, the snow have been very hard on them. Not that she is protesting, though at Leo's state; she knew that it kinda hurt or pained him because of too much cold. She suddenly glanced at Leo, once he let out his question. She looked down sardonically. "Being a half-breed... if you're being treated such as trash, and blames you for the uncertainty of the event in your place... I would be glad if I could kill those humans..." she answered, her voice full of anger; the sudden question have made her long forgotten memories be flashed in her mind.
She sigh, she accepted it nonetheless. "Though, I accepted it nonetheless... I accept that the fate WAS and really be so cruel. I accept the fate of being like this..." she looked at the fireplace. Her eyes then turned at the logs near them, she gets one of it and throw it at the fire place; emitting a warm feeling to Leo.
She eyed him as she couldn't help but smirks at his statement. "True..." she uttered. "Full blooded demons, some of them doesn't even know how to control their lust. And I can't say I can control it well too..." she lamely said out, sighing again. The warm emitting at the fireplace makes her weak and sleepy. A soft yawn escapes her lips, though she pauses once she looked at Leo wide eyes.
"The assassin's creed... those who is told by the supremo to assassinate, must do so. If not kill thy ownself." she let out softly as she looked at Leo, though she never answer his question yet. "I've grown into that creed, always telling to myself 'why would I sacrifice my life to others?'. But..."
"I would gladly not do what I was told by the supremo... my life would be nothing... if I haven't gain such a friend like you," she paused in her tracks as she refrain from her thoughts the statement she have held out. She blushes and looked at Leo nervously. "I-I mean... w-well... uuhhh..." she stutter, failing to create a good explanation.

Leo watched and listened silently as Rayl conflicted herself with her statements, but he's glad she approved of her past. Not accepting one's past means not accepting what one's really is, and that somehow balked his mind to compute. His eyes just followed the movement of her hand when she picked up a lone log to toss it to the fireplace, before lifting his eyes to face her.
Leo blinked his eyes slowly, attempting to show that he's surprised by Rayl's sudden declaration of her uncontrollable lust for killing. Though, that blank look on his face didn't actually contribute on his effort. Mainly because he expected it. What truly boggles him is to why she is so pleasant to him.
The artist stared at her in slight awe of her system of principles, taking heed of every word she said, as this is information he never knew of. It somewhat amazes him on how this sort of belief works; loyalty to the supremo must be one of the more important factors, he assumes.
Before his mind could form any more theories, the assassin suddenly answered his question, unexpectedly. "Huh?" Leo twists his attention right towards her, thoroughly surprised. He opened his mouth to say something, but something stopped him.
He sneezed, luckily for Rayl.
"Excuse me..." Sniffing, Leo then pushed himself up from the couch and slightly stomped his foot on the floor to get his blood flowing back. "I think it's best if I change clothes now." He said, walking beside the table and scooped up the clothing Rayl provided for him.
"Uhm...is there a room I should go or should you just close your eyes?" That's just like Leo, he tended to question even the most simplest of issues.

Rayl was lucky, she sighed content at what happen. She was just to spill something out, but she wanted to hide it to everyone. She was unsure, and afraid of the bad effect of it. She have suffered too much, and never she will at the second time.
She looked at Leo and stood up, she nodded at him. "Follow me, this place has a guest room." she informed as they went in to the left part of the house. She opened the mahogany door and opens it.
The room has a complete set of a comfortably place to stay and rest. "After finish, you can go back at the living room... so you could finish drinking the coffee..." she let out as she sighed, leaving the place and going back to the kitchen.
Once she was at the kitchen, she leaned at the wall; closing her eyes in frustration. The fast beat in her heart have slowed in a normal rate. She looked up at the white ceiling. "What is this feeling...?" she shook her head, trying to calm her thoughts. Once done, she went at the couch and look at the fireplace. The length of the fireplace at her couch is enough for her to not weaken; though makes her sleepy and dizzy.

Leo simply followed the maiden while keeping his eyes hovering over towards the architectural design of the large house. It amazed him on how this house could even have itself built in this place. The artist only paused his steps when he caught sight of the grand polished door right in front of him.
"Oh..." Was his only reply to Rayl at her instructions, because he's too busy trying to keep himself a secure stand at the sight inside the room; fully furnished and exceptionally superior in quality, almost befitting a lord.
"Ah, Rayl.." He spun around to call her, but found she's not within sight anymore, so he closed his mouth. Though he could easily afford it, Leo doesn't felt comfortable in such a huge house. Perhaps it was because of his poor living conditions since a child, and he got used as to how he handled things when he was still poor.
Leo finished changing his clothes rather quick, but he slipped in his jacket too, to provide extra heat for himself. As he walked alongside the passageway back to the living room, stuffing his hands inside his jacket pockets, Leo caught sight of his companion on the couch.
"...Rayl, are you feeling well?" He asked the moment he approached her, since she wears a particular expression on her face. "I can leave if I'm too much of a burden for you."

Rayl could hear the soft foot stumps of Leo's feet from the place. He was already finished wearing the clothes. But she haven't noticed of Leo suddenly beside her. She quickly sit stiffly as her eyes widen in surprise.
But that surprise have brought confusion in her eyes. He have heard her uttered the 'feeling' residing in herself. She sighed and looked up at Leo. "No... it's not you, don't take my statement that much. It's nothing," she let out, her hand suddenly raising up and leaned above Leo's head; she patted him assuringly. though she was surprised she did that. She quickly takes her hand back.
She glanced at his clothings, "The clothe suits you," she changed the topic, looking away.

"What are you talking about?" Leo responded, before pausing at what Rayl just did; she literally patted his head. The artist blinked, stunned for a moment, but then regained back his composure and sat on the couch awkwardly.
"Well, just to let you know, I didn't hear any statements made," he had a feeling he's supposed to say this, since he truly didn't hear anything with all the buzz in his mind. Actually, that tends to happen a lot, and Leo was forced to focus a lot of times in order for him to even hear what others had to say.
"Wha..?" He barely caught Rayl's last statements, again with that unfocused glance. He looked down at the attire Rayl had given him to wear, then back to the maiden again. "Uh...thank you...I suppose." He was indeed surprised by her strange behavior and words, but he took that as a sign of something.
"Is something the matter?" His eyebrows creased slightly. "People said I'm a good listener, if you want an ear."

Rayl raised a brow as she looks at Leo with a contemplate look. How can she be able to talk if she haven't know such emotions. She looks down and sighed as she looks at the fireplace. She nodded to herself, shrugging her shoulders afterwards.
"Being an assassin, an orphan, a wanderer... no one have never taught me of what are the feelings like and such..." she let out as she looks down at her hands. "But i know anger and hatred... jealousy as well... for the supremo have that,"
She frowned and looks at Leo, "But I don't know this feeling of something that disturb me anytime... when," she paused, a blushed colored her cheeks. "When I... when I was... with-you," she blurted out as she placed her hand near her heart.
"This... it's beating faster," she uttered as took Leo's hand from hers and place it at her heart, which was beating fast. "Can you feel it?" she innocently asked, looking at Leo with a confuse gaze.

Leo sat still as he offered to listen what's wrong with his friend, silently accumulating his thoughts to figure out what exactly does Rayl meant by this. All the negative emotions are rather easy to figure out welling in her heart with what she does for a living, but still, it confuses Leo a lot.
It came to him a little bit slowly when Rayl suddenly mentioned that his presence bothered her, "Huh?" Frankly, he was surprised to have his hand snatched and placed on her chest. "Beating...faster...?" Sure it's not that hard for him to read anyone, but emotions aren't really his forte, to begin with.
'Wait...this only happens...when she's with me..?'
Like a strike of lightning, it suddenly hits Leo on what she could actually mean. His eyebrows raised, hitting his hairline, though his eyes still half-closed and blank by the slow process of accepting what's happening. "....Oh. My dear God."
He pulled his hand from her grip, staring warily towards Rayl, like he's searching for something in her eyes. At the shocking realization, Leo then pressed his lips tight, deep in thought of how actually did this happen, why did it happened and of course, what he's supposed to say.
"I'm....not sure I understand what you mean exactly, but in my experience of being human for the last 19 years, I think that 'disturbing' feeling, as you put it, is actually.....love." That's the best set of words he could form in order to explain to her, at least. Being so reliable with logic, he didn't even let his feelings interfere.
But then, Leo took in what he had said upon himself, and finally, for the first time, he actually acted like a normal human. Or more so, like a teenager he's supposed to be, "Wait. Wait, wait... Your heart chose ME?"[/b]

Rayl nodded once Leo have questioned her about the rapidly beating of her heart. She was really confused of how a human feels, she is a human; albeit being half, as of that. But no matter who you are or type of being you are... you are still a living one.
She frowned her eyebrows in confusion as he answered what the disturbing for her means. She knitted her eyebrow, "Love?" she let out, memories have recalled her as she saw her parents laughing; happy with each other. They were so happily content with each other, albeit being different with one another. "If love is what it feels like... would he loved me back as well?" Rayl thought out as she looks as Leo whom have a surprised look. Though she was confused why Leo was shocked, probably because of her being an assassin, or being indifferent, or being a... demon.
She looks down at her hands, she quietly nodded back; answering his question.

A loud noise suddenly was emitted from Leo, that banging of his legs against the table when he had fell. Leo had literally slipped off the couch in complete shock right after Rayl nodded her head. Though, it didn't seemed he mind, or even noticed, that he fell. However he did it.
Now sitting on the floor, his legs bent painfully under him, Leo gazed into nothingness at the fact Rayl just revealed to him. His jaw slightly hanging, and his head tilting to the side. It took him a few moments to collect back whatever he had dropped, he himself being one, along with a number of trails of thoughts he had abandoned due to the surprise, and sat himself back on the couch rigidly.
After a deep inhale, Leo tried to solve it with logic. Though he stuttered. "I-it happens. Things like this happens. P..plus, it's completely natural for a human, even half of them, to feel attracted to someone or fall in love, but still..."
Logic doesn't answer it. Feelings are needed to wholly explain what this means. Leo's fully aware of that, it's just...he's worried of his own feelings, or lack thereof, might hurt Rayl. Slowly, he turned to face her, his eyes deeply held a mass of concern, but he had collected enough courage to catch her gaze right in her eyes.
"Do you remember? When we first met at Iron Maw, I've said a number of outcomes that might came true.. Can you recall the last one? The one that I never said about?" He paused for a moment.
"This is exactly it."
Now his own heart is starting to beat rapidly. Though he had foreseen this moment as one of the possible consequences, the fact that it's actually happening right now somehow frightens him. Probably because although he had seen this coming, he had never really prepared himself for what is to come.
THIS especially.

Rayl quietly listened at his logic statement, she remained quiet; because that's the only thing she knew she have to do. She didn't know what to say or act, because she haven't encountered such.
She sighed, she looked at Leo and silently stood up. "I'll just go and check the nearby town... I have to check my mission," she suddenly let out, a heavy thud in her heart; she felt as if she was dying. But she ignored the feeling, she have to finish something.
Looking at her black mask at the table, she took it. "Just locked the door," she let out, she is trying to escape the rejection he would say; even without knowing the feeling of love, the happiness... she have somehow take a peak of what kind of emotions of it. She remembered her parents speaking of happiness and love toward each other. Just as that.

Leo was left speechless, totally dumbfounded and clueless on what to do or say to this. It is so unreal to him, and there's nothing more he'd like to do than to sit back and think about all these, but time doesn't allow him, since he has to act now or Rayl will leave.
"Um!" He stood from the couch quickly, trying to gain her attention, though he didn't what to say. The artist has no idea why he wishes for her to stay, it simply just doesn't feel right since he saw how her face contorted into the moment she made a grab for her mask.
"Wait, stop. Just, don't go," Leo took hold of her wrist when she reached out for her mask. Though he didn't know what to say, he can at least say out what's in his mind at the moment. "Please. I'm still surprised...and my brain can't function right now, but I want to make sure."
His voice sounded shaky, he noticed. Leo really doesn't know what he's doing, but now that he had unknowingly stepped into the strange world of the hearts, he's trying very hard to be catious. The least he wanted to do is to accidentally harm her emotionally.
"How-- I mean...why..? Why do you have...feelings for me? I am...no one, Rayl. I can't protect you, I can't fight for you, I'm not strong enough to do...anything for you.."
Now not only that his voice is quivering, but his hand seems to too.

Just as Rayl was about to leave, Leo have took her hand on his; Rayl pauses as she looks at Leo's hand, her gaze soon turned at his features. Her lips wore a thin line, she suddenly looks down; not really knowing what to do.
He have told her the consequences when they were at the Iron-Maw; it confuses her first when he logically explained the said 'consequences'. She never really of thought that she could befriend anyone or love as of that. But here she was, she have felt something she have never felt before.
A feeling of something you wanted the most, a feeling of wanting to protect and make them feel they;re special; the feeling of love.
She raised her head as Leo asked her such questions of 'why him'. She furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, why him anyway?
He's weak, clumsy, and a logic guy... not a romantic guy. But who are you to teach the heart of a being? Who are you to command it?
"It's just happened..." she simply let out. "This is new to me as well... but I know this will not change... towards-you," she blurted out as she looks away.
