Leo stood unenthusiastically in front of the newly built cafe. His face shows no indication of how thrilled he is to be here, in the least. He heaved a long and depressing sigh, then trudged himself inside the glass-made double doors to enter the Rio Nunez Cafe in slight annoyance.
Earlier that day, specifically the moment he just walked down to the kitchen to get some breakfast, he was surprised to see a little child eating cake under the table. When a woman emerged from the entrance of the kitchen, the kid somehow shoved the half-eaten cake and rushed towards the back door, leaving a dumbfounded Leo with half a cake.
That half a cake actually belongs to that woman.
Before he knew it, he's been sent to buy another cake, after being accused of eating the thing and ruined her dessert. Being a peaceful soul, Leo tries to avoid any confrontations whenever possible, so he just let himself got yelled and dragged himself to where he's standing now.
"What did I get myself into..." He heaved out with a sigh, now browsing for the specific cake the woman ordered him to buy.
He had adjusted his large travel bag into something more casual, thus the existence of a fairly normal sling bag rested behind his right shoulder. Leo also wore a more decent outfit for his trip to the cafe, jeans and a dark-toned jacket outside a normal t-shirt is enough for him. Of course, he didn't forget to wear that brown hat of his on his head.
"What's the name of that cake again..." He wondered silently, placing a couple of his fingers near his chin as he shifts his weight on one of his legs, thinking.

Rayl was starving at the least, she was traveling for almost a week for who knows where. Though when she have entered a country, she looked up at the title that hangs in a well built yet old post. The country she was now was Evnae: Steam Country.
She couldn't help but furrow her eyebrows at the name, though shrugged it. All she was thinking of was to eat, since she haven't eaten decent foods from the weeks of traveling.
As she walked through the clouded mass of people around the place, she looked over to a place that captivates her eyes. Ah yes, the most scrumptious foods she have ever tasted is where her eyes have directed..
Rio Nuñez Cafe is the name of the restaurant... a cake shop to be particular. She heads her way in to the place, looking at the decorative cake that has been advertised at the transparent glass window. She gulped the saliva that was threatening to drool, she has a sweet tooth on this stuff. It's her favorite. Then her eyes have settled down at those black forest cake. Ah, the most scrumptious, delicious things those are.
She quickly entered the place, though her composure is calm. She looked around the place as she looked at the well decorative stuffs in the place. "What to eat?" she uttered out, thinking if she wanted to eat first her favorite black forest cake, or some tarts first. She have wore those seemingly uniform, together with her black boots.

As Leo's busy ransacking his brain to find the name of the cake that woman in his inn ordered him to buy, his eyes traveled all over the place, hoping to find something that could remind him of the cake he's responsible to buy. While he's browsing, the artist wondered what exactly is this place.
A cake shop? Why would a cake shop have so many tables and chairs as if its a restaurant. Maybe it's a restaurant? Does this place looks like an eatery? Yes...somehow it did, though all the main courses seems to be desserts. A cafe sounds just right. Like a large indulgence area to the sinful temptation of delicious cakes and sweets.
Too bad Leo doesn't have that large of a sweet tooth.
His eyes paused by the sight of a girl near the counter, wearing all black, and her skin is as fair as snow. This rings not one, but two bells in his mind. The first bell is the cake he's searching for. 'Marble cake! Dark and bright, that was it.' The second bell is apparently the girl's name.
"Ray..!" He uttered a surprised cry upon seeing an acquaintance inside the most random of places. 'Hold on, this is a place filled with cakes, what is she doing here?' Leo approached her, just to make sure that this is Rayl he's seeing. "Well, this is a surprise."

Rayl sighed as she looked more closely at the cakes that was placed inside the cabinet made of glasses, just for these cakes to be seen. She could smell those oozing fudginess of chocolates making her seems to be craving at the chocolate cake... the black forest.
"I really wanted to eat it now..." she couldn't help but think out loud, though here voice is mildly hear by anyone else in this cafe.
She nodded and agreement, yes, she will buy this stuff. Just as then, someone have tore her eyes away from the black forest. She heard someone calling her name, making her full body shift and looked at the owner of the voice. "Ray..!" She furrowed her eyebrows, 'Ray', did she call him that?
She shrugged her shoulders, she looked at the owner. It was Leo, her acquaintance, or new found friend here in this place. She nodded, taking her eyes away from the black forest cake and went her way at the guy. She blinked owlishly at his second statement. "Surprise?" she asked blankly as she looked at the place. Ah right. "Is this not a place for assassin as well?" she asked, almost coldly, ah... slash that. She asked almost sarcastically, though she sighed remembering her sudden remarks. "Sorry about that..." she uttered, suddenly looking away at his gaze.

Leo adjusted the weight of the bag he carried behind him, and nodded in acknowledgment of her. "No, it's not that. I'm just surprised to see you here because...well...I don't expect to see you here." She's partially right, at least. Rayl is a mysterious and cold young woman, and when surrounded by sweet delightful cakes, it doesn't quite fit. Though, her mystery might hide something. Maybe she likes these things? "I apologize. Everyone has the right to be in any place they want."
Leo looked around, mostly trying to swallow the fact he's inside a fancy place like this, with Rayl to add in the picture, then sighed. "Would you like me to treat you that cake you've been ogling for the past 5 minutes?" He cocked his head to the black forest gateau, though slightly joking, he's fully honest of his offer.
"You might want to teach me how to eat these things while we're on it."

Rayl looked at him a bit flabbergasted, he was treating him for the black forest she's been craving for when she have laid her eyes on this cafe. She gulped down the saliva forming on her throat as she looks at the cake. She sighed, she does not have enough money to buy the cake. She has used almost her money through attaining some facts about how can a person mend someone with the used of herbal medicines things -slash- her abilities.
"Truly..." she started looking at the cake and to Leo. "I do not have enough money to buy the luscious cake..." she added and sighed a bit sadly at how humiliating would that be. She, an assassin, is pleading or even wanting to let a guy pay her meal. Well, that would be a gentleman for Leo to do.
But for Kami-sama's sake! She's AN ASSASSIN! She have a PRIDE and EGO to protect, for the sake of herself!
Ah scratch that! Pride or ego, whatever it is. She is effing hungry. And the luscious black forest is enough! "I would be thankful... quiet... if you treat me," she groaned as she hear her voice. She sighed afterward as she looked at him then to the cake. "Well... let's just say that the exchange of you treating me the cake is for me to teach you how to eat it..." she uttered out then shrugged her shoulders timidly.
"Though I don't know if you will be satisfied at how the way I teach you..."

Leo paused for a while as he watched Rayl's reaction. The way she turned to the cake, then to him, with that pair of stupefied eyes, is suggesting him that this is the right gesture for him to do. "Ah, is that so?" He questioned right after the assassin informed him of her money problem.
Leo's lips almost cracked a smile when Rayl accepted his offer, plus that free cake-eating tuition. "Don't feel pressured of it, it's really no problem. Here...after you." The lad moved aside a bit and raised his hand to guide her to a double-chaired free table there, and pulled a seat for her to sit. "Please, it's an honor. Just think of this as a thank you gesture after the incident back at the mine area." She saved his life, after all.
The artist then placed his bag on his seat before nodding at Rayl, "Excuse me a moment." Then off he goes to the counter to fetch the necessary cake, leaving Rayl alone for a while at the table, and completely in the view of his partly zipped bag with a small frame of a picture inside.

Rayl watched Leo for a moment as he offered her a sit. She nodded almost timidly, not used at the sudden 'gentleman' gesture. She sat on the seat as Leo then leave the place as he went to the counter to fetch their orders.
She looked at the place, she sighed inwardly as she think of her black forest cake. She haven't eaten that for a couple of years or so, so she was excited and a bit thrilled. A blushed suddenly form on her cheeks.
It was a thought of a child, and wouldn't have thought that such assassin would think about such childish acts.

After a moment, Leo returned with a delicate-seeming tray, but somewhat beautiful and fitting for the refined cafe's taste. He sets the tray on their table, while his other hand secretly reached for his bag to zip the half-opened zipper all the way up, as soon as he noticed his bag isn't fully closed.
On the tray, two large slices of the black forest cake could be seen on two seperate plates, along with a seemingly delicate teapot with two equally delicate cups. A few tissues and small forks used to eat the cake is also conveniently placed on the tray. Leo deftly sets the cutleries down first, with the fork on top of a piece of tissue for each of them, then the teapot with its little teacups, and lastly the delectable plates filled with black forest slices.
The lad sat down on his seat after giving the tray to a passing waiter, his bag pressed against his back and the chair's backrest. "Please, help yourself." He urged, his face lacking a smile like always, and picks up the small fork. Leo paused after that though, honestly knowing zip of what to do next.
He was taught basic table etiquettes back when he still lived with his mother, since the good woman believed her Leonard would grow up to be a respectable gentleman, thus is why he is educated in these things...no matter how strange his attitude really is.
But, though he knows how to set a table perfectly, he wasn't well-educated into eating cakes much. Mrs de Piero never had enough money to buy such a fancy treat. Plus, Leo wasn't the type to prefer of these things. He took a glance of the woman in front of him for a bit, then shrugged his shoulders.
"You know, wanting to eat cake isn't childish. Stop feeling embarrassed." Yet again, he read Rayl like an open book.

Rayl sighed as she looked down at the cake in front of her, then gaze towards Leo. "So," she let out, she was easily read by others, she knew it. Though this time, she won't retort something rude. Because this guy, is her first friend... though she can, even if it is her friend.
"I guess I'll teach you?" she added as she holds the fork and sighed. "I guess... if you're like one of the aristocrats, you can handle them with such delicate... the fork I mean," she instructed as she hold her fork, with such delicate; in a way that as she closed the gap of the fork and the cake, bringing it down was just an easy way.
She softly slices the cake with the side of the fork, not the three spikes of the silverware. She looked at Leo a bit unsure, "If you were just a normal man with not so much liking of such fancy way of eating..." she uttered out as she stab the cake a bit lightly with its 3 spikes. "You could just do this," she answered as she plop the small bit of cake in her mouth.
Her saliva added the scrumptious taste of the chocolate the flooded in her mouth, the soft spongey cake almost made it down to her tummy; once she gulped it.
"Err.. was that okay?" she timidly asked as she looks at Leo with unsure eyes.

Leo silently watched how Rayl did it, wondering how an assassin can be so delicate and deadly all at the same time. After Rayl popped that piece of cake in, The artist can't help but to cock an eyebrow at her, intrigued by how she managed to know of these things. Did she lived in a rich mansion before the assassin spirit comes?
"I am nothing normal nor fancy, I'm afraid," he said, still holding in that look in his face. Slowly looking down at the cake on his own plate, Leo sighed. He did the exact same thing Rayl did, cutting that soft-textured cake into a small piece, but he didn't pierce it with the fork. Instead, the young man scooped the piece up on the fork and brings it to his mouth.
After a moment to try and savor the taste, Leo cringed slightly. His eyebrows wrinkling, and his whole face scrunched up a bit. "Too sweet," he choked out before swallowing it. Immediately, he reached for the teapot and pour himself a warm cup of tea, then drank it in a less delicate way. More like gulping it down in one long sip.
"...Right." He said, setting his cup down. "I'm not used into eating this." Motioning to the slice of cake in front of him, Leo shook his head. Maybe its because he ate vegetables all his life that he's used to eat bitter things. Cakes being sweet doesn't help, since the taste is the exact opposite of his daily meals.
"When was the last time you ate this...thing?" The way he mentioned the cake as if it's some mutilated inedible alien thing shows how much Leo's actually missing in life.

Rayl looked at him amused at how can he not appreciate the sweet taste of the cake. She sighed a bit, though not mad, she was far from mad because it made her see how Leonardo de Piero can never liked such as this. "Are you a vegetarian, so to say?" she suddenly asked, she was not a vegetarian. As a matter of fact, she hated eating vegetables.
"It seems you don't like eating sweets after all.." she uttered as she plucked another small bit of cake and eat it. "In eating it for the first time... I guess you should just scoop a small chocolate icing," she uttered out as she scoop a small amount of icing at the side of her fork.
"Oh right... I haven't eaten cakes for a couple of years or so," she stated as she looked down at her cake. "But that doesn't mean I forgot how scrumptious these are..."

Leo nodded at Rayl's question as he sets his fork down beside his cake, then turned to her. "Yes. I'm used into eating fruits, and grains, and nuts and vegetables. No animal products." The cake must have had some random animal fat or something to make him dislike it.
He just nodded at her suggestion to seperate the icing with the cake, but he never picked up his fork again. He doesn't detest eating it, it's just that he prefers to stay away from it. Leo reached out for the teapot and poured the tea inside both of their cups as he listened to Rayl.
"Years??" He almost dropped the teapot at the surprise. "Well, that's an awfully long time. Where have you gone to? No wonder you're craving for the cake this badly." He said the last sentence slowly, setting the teapot down and picked up his cup for a sip. "You can take my piece of the cake, if you wish."

She nodded as she looked down at her cake, it really was a long time. "I've been traveling to the outskirt of towns to train, where no chocolates exists..." she uttered out then sighed.
"And I have been also in continuous missions assigned on me," she lastly said.
Rayl then looked at Leo then to the offered cake, "I would gladly take that... if you could take a bit of a small piece of an icing..." she blurted out, with a hint of challenge in her voice. How could someone don't like chocolates?! It's the heavens greatest invention... err... man made invention.

Leo stared at Rayl with slight surprise, he still couldn't swallow the fact that he's treating an assassin a cake now. "Missions. I...see." He was almost tempted to ask her what kind of missions, when the girl stated out on what seems to sound like a challenge to him.
No matter how slow Leo is, he's still a guy. And guys have a sort of sixth sense in them when a challenge is brung up. His eyes shifted immediately to Rayl's, and tried his best to read if that's what she's implying. ...There's no mistaking it, she's engaging a dare to him.
"The icing is the most sweetest part of the cake." He raised a brow at her, stating out that fact to try and express resistance. "What happens if I refuse?"
