First Day in the morning at the Lake

[Alessa]

It’s been weeks since Alessa wonders in Diabolic Domain before she reaches the Aquir Lake by morning. Tired and confused about the places where bout, she decided to take a rest at Aquir Lake as she found that the view of the lake is peaceful and aspiring. It reminds her about her village which has a lake too. “I think I should rest here…” she talked to herself.

She found a nice spot for her to stay, under a big tree near the lake. She cleaned the area, spread a cotton mat on the grass. Then she sit down and put her luggage on it and started to arrange them finely. She then take out her last meal in her bagpack, her favorite food; a chocolate bar. She slowly open the packet and instead started to bite it, she stared at the chocolate. “I guess this is the last one of its kind… I can’t find you anywhere else in the world…” Tear started to flow out from her eyes. The chocolate brand and recipe can only be found in her village, which was destroyed by the outlaws that raid that place without notice.

She wipe off her tear and wrapped back the chocolate and put it back in her backpack. She decided to keep it as one of her memoir of the past. Then, she lean on the tree and gaze the beautiful sight of the lake and the sky. She took out her precious locket and open it. A picture of a lil girl with silver hair and white eyes. “I wonder what mother tried to tell me bout this pic…” Again she talked to herself. The pic doenst resemble her nor her mother specially the hair. “Come to think of it, father has silver hair, but she doesn’t resemble him too…” then she relief a sigh. “What am I thinking? I’m the only daughter of the family,” she shake her head.

Feeling tired on her travel, her eyes started to close bit by bit. She tries to stay up but the gentle breeze of the wind and the peaceful scenery makes it harder for her to stay up. “Maybe I’ll sleep for a while, been days since I slept normally,” She thought in herself. Then slowly she started to close her eyes, without worries. She sleep while leaning on the tree with her locket on her hand, like an innocent angel…

Mitsuko was taking a stroll to Aquair lake and to give herself a breather from all the craziness that has been happening to her on all sides. However she once again got the feeling that someone needed a friend to talk to. As an angel Mitsuko was well known to give people a listening ear, even if she was going through some troubles of her own. She could put those troubles aside and help someone else.

She didn't come to Aquair lake very often, but when she did, she would just sit and draw to comfort herself when she either didn't feel well, or if something pretty captures her eye. The wind was gentle and when she arrived at the lake, she noticed a beautiful girl lying down and resting. Milo Mitsuko's dove made a small peeping noise as a form of a greeting but Mitsuko turned to her and told her to be quiet and peaceful as it seemed like this girl hadn't gotten much rest lately.

"We mustn't wake her Milo... Even young people need their rest, but I won't deny the fact that she seems troubled by something. For now though we'll watch over her. Perhaps set up a camp or something. Anything we can do to help someone feel more comfortable... That's the way of life I choose."

The angel started to build a small camp fire, and eventually started to put together some food that she had with her as she traveled. She was sure that the girl was hungry so when she wakes up there would be food waiting just for her. Since all the angel had seen was a chocolate bar wrapper. A chocolate bar never fills up anybody, for long so making a few meals would hopefully help the girl's hunger if she was craving for a filling meal.

Mitsuko looked at the sleeping girl and smiled. She quietly took out her sketchbook and started to draw the girl since she captured the angel's eye. Of course she would give the young girl the picture when she finished.

[Alessa]

After sleeping the whole day, Alessa slowly open her eyes. She looks on the sky which getting darker, but she immediately shook up and started to panic.

“H-how long have I’m being sleeping?” she thought. With panic she look around the place is already in darkness due to nightfall. From her childhood experience she always had been scared of the dark. Her parents were the always there to comfort her throughout the past nights but now that she is alone, she never get used it. Then she realizes that she was not alone. She quickly turns her head and saw someone nearby. It’s Mitsuko with her campfire.

Confused and a little bit scared because she never saw anyone for weeks, and she doesn’t know who Mitsuko is. “H-how long has she been here? What is she doing?” she thought in herself.Slowly she observes Mitsuko and found out that she is a very pretty lady. She senses no danger about her. Without a doubt she asked her. “Um… Who … are you? W-what are you doing?” she asked her shyly.

She wonders what Mitsuko were doing with sketch book on her hand and she then realize that Mitsuko Is smiling at her. “An angel…” she stated spontaneously.

Mitsuko looked at the young girl that had just woken up from her sleep and just giggled, as the young girl asked her questions one after the other, but Mitsuko knew the reason behind the questions was because the girl who had been sleeping so soundly was shy, and possibly startled. The angel shook her head and then responded.

“Please don’t worry, I won’t hurt you. I was just passing by and I noticed you sleeping here all alone, and I was also concerned that you didn’t have enough food to eat since the only thing I saw when I first got here was a chocolate bar wrapper. So I decided to make a warm campfire, and share what I have with you, and to keep you company.”

“My name is Mitsuko, and yes I am an angel, though I am surprised you could tell since my wings isn’t apparent at the moment so I just look like a regular full human girl. It seems to be that you are very perceptive. Nothing seems to get by you does it? And this here is this sketch I made of you. I hope you don’t mind but the way you looked sleeping caught my eye so I wanted to capture the moment in its purest form, and put it in my sketchbook.”

“You can sit next to me if you like, so you can see your sketch.”

In addition to Mitsuko’s introduction, and explanation Milo chimed in and said hello too by going over and greeting the young girl.

“This here is my dove Milo. She’s my companion. Don’t worry she loves people who are nice to her, but then again there are those that she just doesn’t like so she poops on them hahaha.”

The angel also noticed the girl’s apparent fear of darkness and the girl didn’t have to tell the angel anything, she just got the feeling that this is what she was afraid of.

“Are you afraid of the dark? Don’t worry if it makes you feel any better I am afraid too, so I always carry around a flash light. Though… Darkness and myself do not mix. You can say that I am… allergic to it in a way, especially when it’s free darkness and not under someone’s control. Darkness is poison since I am a light angel.”

"T-thank you," she bow to Mitsuko-san. "I-I don't know how that I can repay for your kindness," stated her.

Her face is red as she is somehow surprised that some stranger would treated her that nicely. Moreover, she never meet any human lately, not to mentioned any angels. Alessa suddenly startled as she forgot to introduce herself.

"M-my apologies!" she bow again and this time she kept bowing to cover her face as she is blushing hard because of embarrassment.

"M-my name is Su-Suzuna Alessa, I'm just a mere human who practice elemental sorcery. I just got here after my long journey from the East to search new life here,"

As she tries to continue, her stomach started to growl due to lack of food. She was so embarrass by that and tries to apologies.

"I-I'm very sorry! I-it was r-rude of me to do that in front of an An-Angel," Her face turned bright red and slight tear start to came out from her eyes as she was really embarrass about what she just did.

To her, Angel is a high class being as that what she believe according to the book she read. As a mere human, Alessa can only think that she is not worthy to an angel. She kept bowing to Mitsuko because she is embarrass and adding up to show her respect.

When the young girl suddenly bowed to her Mitsuko herself blushed. While she appreciated the respect, it wasn't necessary. High class, rich or poor... All of these things were just social classes that she didn't believe in, she believed everyone should be treated equally, but then again there were those that did have high class who abused it.

"Please Suzuna, you don't need to bow to me. I just want to be treated normally, not like royalty. I was born to a human father and an angelic mother so I am human just like you in some aspects. So please raise your head, look me in the eyes, calm yourself, breathe and smile."

Mitsuko gently cupped the girl's face and raised it for her, and smiled herself. She didn't need special treatment.

"Equality is what I believe in. You may not be an angel, but you are an equal. Not a "mere" human, but a human. Do you understand? You are a unique individual with goals, dreams.... When describing yourself the word "mere" shouldn't be in anyone's vocabulary. You are a human. And it's okay to be a human. I don't look at humans as if they are beneath me or something."

"One reason is because I see everyone as equals, individuals. The second reason? I am part human myself. And the final reason? My best friend is a human."

Mitsuko was always very soft spoken and gentle too. She wasn't harsh with her words either but she hoped that this bright young girl would understand, what she was trying to say.

"A new life is what you seek? Um are you living anywhere currently? Because if you aren't then I could arrange something for you, if you'd like."

As she was talking to Suzuna Mitsuko gave her a plate of food after it was cooled down.

"And it's okay for a stomach to grumble. It's natrual when you are hungry.."

[Alessa]

Alessa finally calmed down after hearing the explanation of Mitsuko. She can only nod obediently. She felt happy because there somehow somebody outside would treat her with such kindness. She bowed to Mitsuko before taking the plate as a sign of her gratitude.
“Thank you very much. Its been awhile since anyone treated me this kindly…” she sit as she was talking.

“I just recently happened to got here. It has been months after I left my village, so currently I got no place to stay,” she stopped and starts praying as she was ready to eat. As she eats the food, she was enlightened by the taste of the food.
“It is very delicious. Its been a while since I eat this kind of food,” she smile happily. Its been months she’s been eating food that contains in her back pack. As she keeps eating, she realizes the drawing by Mitsuko.

“Waah, its so pretty! You’re very good in drawing Mitsuko-san,” stated Alessa. She was very happy to know that Mitsuko is a very kind person. For the first time after her long journey, she felt so relaxed because she was no longer alone, in the darkness.

While she was eating, she keeps staring at Mitsuko’s face. Then without realizing, tear were already falls from her eyes.

"Oh I see.. Well I do have an offer. I must apologize in advance if it seems like I am recuiting you for something but the truth is, I live at the Alamo Inn, and well there are lots of rooms available. If you need a place to stay, you can always belong there if you wish. But that is totally up to you. I am just trying to make the place much more lively. And even if you choose not to live at the inn, you can always come visit me."

"Kindness is a gift that should be shared with everyone I'm sorry that it has been a while since you were treated with kindness-"

The angel stopped her sentence when she saw this little girl tear fall from her eyes. The angel smiled a little, and took out a clean tissue and went in front of her and dabbed her eyes with it.

" Even though you must have gone through some hard times, or even have a fear that is hard to deal with, you know what sweetheart? Things get better. Things eventually start looking up all you have to do is have faith in others and yourself, and just know that the hard times makes you stronger. I have been through lots of hard times too. You may think that because I am an angel I have no problems to deal with, but the truth is I do. The only way I get through them is having faith in people, myself and just know that I am loved by them."

"And there is no shame in crying either, it releases all your negative emotions and cleanse your soul. Have you noticed that whenever you cry, you feel a sense of relief? And a weight is lifted off your shoulders and your heart."

[Alessa]

After hearing that statement, Alessa shrug as her tears started to drip more. Its true about what Mitsuko had said. All this time of her travel, she always tries to endure it. To somehow find someone that treat her very kindly, who gently comfort her, with soft spoken and with the smile. Alessa can't help it but start to cry as Mitsuko does resemble her deceased mother, 2 years ago.

"They've gone... They were all gone... My father, my mother, my neighbor, even him... I lost everything in just 1 night... If only I was strong enough, they wouldn't have been," cries her while leaning her head onto Mitsuko shoulder.

"I really got nowhere to go... So please... take me with you... Mitsuko-san," she paused as she can no longer talk. All of her sadness were given out right now.

She were alone for 2 years. And now she finally let go of her feelings as she manage to find someone that will be called, her new friend.

"I understand. I understand how you feel. I don't pity you but I emphasize with you which means I understand your sadness. I had a night similiar to yours actually. When I was about 5 years old, my dad ended up killing my mother. He was abusive to me because to him I was nothing more then a mistake to him. But my mom's dying wish was for me to have her power and use it to help people. I can't use it on myself because not everyone is born with such a gift to heal others. And I don't want to use it on myself. This is my moral. My belief. Now years later I have gotten stronger, and I know you will too."

"Another thing I dealt with? I haven't spoken of this to anyone besides my best friend, and this is a secret that was kept within me until recently, but I feel that you should know some of my hard times too. I dealt with cancer. I was so sick, and alone in the hospital that at one point I thought I was going to die. I went as far as to making this list that had said the 10 things I wanted to do before if I did die, if I stopped responding to treatment. But I didn't stop responding, and I am okay now. I fought it and I won."

"You are so young and have much to learn, but you are never are truly alone even if you feel like you are. I'll be glad to take you in. From this day forward you will now have someone to take care of you. So don't worry, i promise things will look up. It did for me. Even if I am still dealing with some inner emotional pain, I just have to keep reminding myself that people believe in me."

"Crying doesn't mean you're weak. It just means that you have been strong for way too long. I read that somewhere."

The angel embraced Suzuna and hugged her. Comforting her and letting her know that she is not alone anymore.

"It's going to be okay."

[Alessa]

Alessa shed her tears and smile. She were really grateful meeting with Mitsuko after all these time. She now knows that she is no longer alone. She has somebody that will be on her side.

"Please take care of Mitsuko-san. Thank you very much" she bow and the smile. "I too will do my best in helping you too," she continue

She is ready to face on her new life that awaits her. Now that she has her first friend at that place, she is no longer afraid on moving forward.

"You too Suzuna. I'll head off to the inn to make preparations for your stay, feel free to come by later after you have taken a look around the domain some more. The inn is hard to miss, where you see flowers that's where it is. So don't worry."

Mitsuko watched as the young girl left, she was glad that she was able to help someone else out. People always needed someone else to keep them balanced, and now a new individual had entered her life. It was refreshing to her to say the least and she actually got excited. To start decorating Suzuna's new room at the inn, the place in which she can soon call home.
