It turned out that Kida was cold blooded. She needed the sun and the heat to keep her going. Thank God she lived in Fijion and not this forsaken place. Inside the Hawkeye Cabins Kida was huddled up in front of the main fire, rubbing her hands together.
"St-t-tupid....sn-n-now..." she mumbled. Considering she was of the water element, the fact that she didn't like ice too much wasn't surprising. The cold made her useless, Kida's powers were not able to manipulate ice, despite it being the solid form of water. The only time she really liked the stuff was when she was lounging on the beach. But in her defense, the ice would melt into water.
And why was Kida out here? She had planned on going snowboarding. Trying it out since she had never done it before. Unfortunately for her it just wasn't going to work. Her body didn't want to move when it was outside. Instead she'd opted to stay inside by the fire and warm herself as much as possible before going back home.
Beside her, Bec was curled up in the glow. He wasn't liking the cold anymore than her, but he hadn't been dumb enough to fly in it. No, the smart little fire-lizard had burrowed himself inside Kida's jacket and kept himself warm.
Kida looked around. There weren't many people inside the cabins. A few at the bar, drinking themselves warm. Didn't sound like a bad idea, really.

Zephel shook the snow off himself, dusting his shoulders for the flakes to flow off of his jacket. He had just entered the Hawkeye Cabins, hoping to find a brewing cup of coffee after a whole day's worth of travel...by feet. Damn his dragon for abandoning him in the middle of the snow like this, so the silver-haired just forced himself to drag his feet until he's right inside the cabins...after a whole 3 hour of walk under the raining snow.
It wasn't that bad, in all honesty. There's nothing he can expect during his walk except snow, snow, and more snow. So Zeph sort of enjoyed that little walk, as long as there's no wild animals randomly jumping out at him. Taking off his ice-encrusted boots, the main wielder then heads off to the only heat source he could find the moment he stepped in; the fireplace.
Though, seeing a familiar backside curling up in front of the fireplace, Zeph can't help but to pause behind her, just to give her a strange look. "It's not that cold, is it?" He spoke up, surprised of how dry his voice sounds, but decided to shake it off. Zeph then untangles the azure scarf he's wearing at the moment, spreading it in the air to unfold it till it becomes a wide blanket of sorts, before throwing it over the woman, covering not only her body, but her head also.
"Come on. I'll treat you a drink."

Kida couldn't make her body turn to see who spoke to her before something blanketed her completely. The surprise had her making a noise, something like a squeak, and huddling under it. Shivering, she turned her head to see--snow? Noooo!! How'd it get inside the cabin?!--Oh wait, that's Zeph's hair. Ridiculously happy that she was wrong, she gave a shaky wave. Cold? Damn right it was cold. "I don't....d-do...c-c-cold.....water f-f-freezes...and all th-th-that..."
Bec of course was completely mellow from his small sun bath in front of the fire. While he got up easily, Kida felt like she had to unhinge herself just to get her legs straight. And once she was standing it was only due to her lack of motor skills at that time that stopped her from hugging, or glomping more like, Zephel. Despite the fact that he had just come inside, he looked like he was in far better shape that her. Not to mention he looked warm. And what's warmer than body heat?
Fate was on Zephel's side however (even Kida knew, but didn't care, that hugging Zeph would have been awkward for him) and she was able to make it to a bar stool without embarrassing him (she would have had no shame about it). While the thought of that drink was nice Kida didn't know why the fire couldn't be by the bar too. She shivers wouldn't cease and it was all she could do to not sound like a chatter box when she talked. "W-why're...you h-h-here?" In HELL.

Zeph arched a brow, not seeming to comprehend what the heck did she just stuttered at him. He watched in slight amusement as Kida tried to stand up, and after much staggering, fell onto him for a bit, but managed to get herself to the bar stool. Zeph was left surprised by the fireplace for a bit, watching her swagging her way.
He sighed, of course, then followed behind her to sit on the seat next to her, and more surprisingly, unbuttoning his jacket. "If my scarf isn't enough." He simply said before throwing her his short coat, just in the same manner like he tossed her his scarf. Zephel isn't that much of a 'gentle' kind of person, as rough and gruff is much more of his style, but that didn't stop him to be the kind(albeit scary) person he actually is.
"It's made of special materials that could stabilize your body heat. Cold atmospheres, humid air, it withstands everything." He explained, now revealing that without that jacket of his, Zeph wears a long-sleeved black blue-black shirt. "Actually, Hikaru made that jacket." His lips curled up in a small almost non-existant smile for a slight second, almost like a mirage, before his straight 'I-hate-my-life' facial expression is back.
"I was abandoned here. By my dragon. Can you believe how utterly unpredictable idiots driven by love could be?!"
It's a bloody miracle a person such as Zephel could start such a topic, albeit accidentally.

Kida's brain seemed to fry when it processed the last sentence out of Zephel's mouth. Zeph? Talking about love? Hugging him in that instance like she had wanted to would have been waaaay more awkward since he'd said that. Kida was glad she hadn't. Unable to speak she merely motioned to the bartender. Apparently the guy got that a lot because he poured her a drink of some deep brown liquor and set it in front of her. Trying not to spill it, Kida knocked back the drink as fast as she could, figuring it would warm her bones faster. Unfortunately she didn't catch the shocked expression on the bartender's face.
Fire erupted down her throat and in her stomach, choking her and making her cough. "God....damn!" she gasped and coughed some more. "Well, man...don't take this the wrong way, but I kinda love you right now." she replied to Zephel. The liquor had managed to cure her of her of the chattering and now, wrapping in Zeph's layers she was finally accumulating her own body heat. "Thanks." she chuckled.
"But you know...love is a powerful thing. It's a great thing, really."

"Tell me you're joking." Zeph snapped dryly, trying to cover that slight shocked expression of Kida gulping down the liquor in 2 seconds flat, and that even more surprised look at her statement right after her coughs.
"I believe I don't understand what you meant by love. As powerful as it's said to be, it's also the most dangerous." Zeph waved the bartender off as the man stares at him, expecting the silver-haired to order something. He doesn't like it when people bothered him during his turn to talk. "...For instance, taking my dragon and my brother as experiment subjects, they had lost even their common sense to the pity of that emotion."
Then Zeph swiveled his chair to face the bartender, motioning for the same liquor Kida had. His face slightly twitched at the presence of an unfamiliar drink in front of him, now partly considering to leave it be due to the strange color. Zeph isn't much of a drinker...heck, he can't even remember if he had any of these sorts of drinks before.
Zephel, on-character, is a dull, boring, disciplined man...who likes to keep his sanity in his control, and is not about to bet it on liquor. ...God knows what it's like if he miraculously got himself drunk for once.

"Wow..." Kida sipped at the little bit of liquid left in the bottom of her glass and leaned onto the bar. "I've never heard someone call love 'dangerous' before. Well...At least not in the way you mean." Usually when people spoke about love being 'dangerous' it usually referred to how rejection could hurt you. And while that was true Kida felt that you had to take that leap to find something great. Nothing in this world that was easy was also wonderful.
"And I wasn't joking..." she chuckled. "But it's not even the love that you think. I mean like...platonic love." Kida shrugged. "That's good isn't it? What about your brother. You love him, don't you? And look you're as sane as I am. Besides....I don't agree with you anyway. If people act stupid in love then they were stupid before." she chuckled. "Hell, they shouldn't even call it 'common' sense because it's not common anymore." Kida held up her hand for another drink of the strange liquor. This one she sipped carefully instead of throwing it back.
The alcohol was heating her bones and warming her insides already. Like a person that had just jumped under warm covers from a cold room she was desperate to made sure that warmth stayed. So when she thought she'd finally grown accustomed to the alcohol, she threw back her second glass. When she wanted to, Kida could drink.
"So....What would you do if I confessed my wild and undying love for you, hmn?" she asked, glancing sideways at Zephel.

Zeph circled his finger on the rim of his untouched glass slowly, his red eyes focused onto the brown liquor as he listened. "Platonic?" The element-wielder glanced at Kida with a brow quirked, impressed. He turned his attention back to his glass when Hikaru was mentioned, and then tries to translate whatever the heck Kida said in his own words.
"Basically...you're telling me it depends on the individual?" He questioned the moment she sipped her alcohol, and just watched her from the corner of his eyes on how easily she devoured the strange liquid. He found that his head was turned towards her completely at that rather unexpected inquiry. But being himself, Zeph didn't show much surprise.
"Heh..." A singular chuckle escaped his throat, and the silver-haired reverted his eyes back towards his drink. "If that happens, I would--" His much-anticipated answer was cut short when a pair of arms fling themselves around his shoulders and locked his head in the mercy of a horrid-smelling odor...emitted from a random drunk woman's mouth the moment she spoke.

Sally hiccuped, being inside the bar for more than an hour now, with her eyes confusedly wild searching for a playmate. She lost count of how many bottles of wine she managed to chugged down her throat, and the alcohol had finally taken its effects on her.
She could barely walk straight, much less see clearly of where she's going. But her nose is sharp. She could smell a man even from afar, and apparently, Zeph is probably the only one who peaked her interest in this cabin.
"Hi..." She wrapped her arms around his shoulders from behind him, her head slowly leaning on Zeph's silver hair to take a whiff of him. Her hands won't stay still though, as they kept playing on his chest.
"Oh, you're frozen.." And after that tacky line is yet another a rather cliched line. "Let me warm you up..."

Kida had been almost literally on the edge of her seat to hear Zephel's answer. Hell, she had thought he would have gotten creeped out and changed the subject. The fact that this drunk chick had just ruined her chances of getting that answer ticked her off. The fact that she was all over Zeph pissed her off. And well...being drunk and cliche didn't really help her in the eyes of Kida.
"Hey, Toots." ......Toots........?
"Hands off the merchandise....It's not for sale." Kida set her glass back on the bar and slipped off her stool. In the process she discarded Zephel's jacket and scarf onto her stool so she could show this chick that she had the muscle to back up her words. Kida didn't like to fight with drunk people, really. They smelled back, were annoying and they were waaaay too easy to beat. But sometimes they just needed a good smack.
"As in...Get your hands off. Now." Completely aware that her words not-so-subtly implied that Zephel and she were a couple, Kida didn't mind playing that up one bit. Even if it wasn't true it was a great method to ditch a do-do.

Zephel, even in the heat of danger with a highly drunk woman half-leaning on him, even took his time to roll his eyes at the overly cliched use of lines. Just as he's about to roll his tongue, Kida interrupted. Zeph found his mouth partly opening with a pause, his eyebrows slowly creasing. "...Toots...?"
As funny as that sounds, the way that drunk idiot is caressing him is definitely sickening. So, the silver-haired reached to grab her wrists, with 2 fingers handling each, and attempt to sling the pair of arms off of his body. He didn't respond much at Kida's words, merely feeling grateful he didn't have to waste his energy on shooing the drunk woman off. It didn't even crossed his mind that Kida's words would make others mistook him of being her property...or something.
His scarf and jacket on Kida's stool suddenly slipped, and with a sigh, he reached down to collect his fallen possessions...when the woman did something unpredictable. He can feel something cold snaking inside his shirt, and at that, Zeph immediately slipped off from his own stool to stand, his shadow looming over the woman.
"Don't you DARE...piss me off."

Sally stood imbalanced when this lady suddenly stood up for this man, but since Sally's a bit tipsy at the moment, she can't even register half of what the woman said to her. She merely giggled as her hands are being pulled off by the guy, then turns to Kida with a very dazed (and stupid) look, "Who are you to... *hic* ...order me around...hmm..?"
It's safe to say she can faint at any given moment, but the way she half-leaned on Zephel provides the lady a lot of support. That is, until this man bend down. Sally grinned to herself, staring at the rim of his shirt that's slightly revealing a bit of his skin, and the proceeded to enter her own hands to feel him and his warmth.
That pleasure was cut short when the man quickly reacted, resulting Sally to pull her hands back. "Teehee...!" She giggled yet again, her body slanting from one side to another by the lack of balance, then without any warning, held onto Kida's shoulder to keep her feet up. "Don't you.... *hic* ...enjoy that...?"

"Calm, Zeph, Calm..." She moved inbetween the couple that were bound to make this place blow up. "Lady, you really gotta go...and if you don't, I'll happily make you." As ticked as Kida could be at this moment, she hadn't lost sight of her sanity. Or the basic knowledge that a huge fight in the middle of the cabin was a bad idea. "I'll even introduce you to my brother. He's real hot, I promise."
What, the drunk chick didn't know her brother was thousands of miles away and probably hopelessly in love with yet another girl that didn't give a damn about him. "C'mon, Drunkie..." she said, turning the girl towards the exit and trying to lead the unsteady body towards it.

Zeph swore his anger just heated up his surrounding with his fire element...though not to the point that fire would errupt, thankfully. He kept repeating Kida's word in his head, chanting 'calm' over and over again while breathing in and out...without accidentally bursting fire out of his mouth.
He tried not to think of what just happened, and just tries his best to not repeat the blow-out of his dorm room. It's not that hard to piss Zeph off, really. Just one step in his personal space, then there's a possibility that fire could suddenly errupt anywhere.
Zeph paid no attention to what Kida said to distract the drunk idiot, so he brings up a hand to his forehead and wiped it down until he touched his chin and releases his face, then ends his self-calming exercise by a slow exhale.

Sally hiccupped once again, this time a bit louder. She's too weak and delusional to go against Kida, and only giggled while clapping excitedly at the mention of his brother. "Rrreaall-- *hic* --lly?!" She stumbled her way to wherever Kida shoved her to, but before she could even reach the exit, the drunk woman toppled over on the floor, knocked unconscious by the huge amount of liquor she had.
