It all came together now. The virus that the syn are srpeading must be a retrovirus. It all came together in her head. "You're a genius!" Ana yelled as she grabbed hold of his face. Kissing him on the forehead. Ana wrote down so more notes when suddenly she hear a sound. Ana jumped. Arche was uneasy too. She looked strait for Leo.
"Did you hear that?" She asked Leo. It was then Ana had realized it had only been too quiet since she had gotten there. And she hopped that it was only a figment of her imagination. But if it were a Syn. All that brainstorming could just have gone to waste. Only to be turned into syns themselves.

After soldering the last piece of wire in that board, Leo finally leans back on his seat with a small relieving smile, heaving out a loud sigh of his newly-completed invention. That was before Ana suddenly outburst of him being a genius, and pulled him close to peck him on the forehead.
Since Leo isn't such an emotional guy, he didn't react that much surprised. Only that his eyes are wide by her sudden excitement and was left speechless there on his seat when Ana pulled back to scribble some things on her notebook. He shook his head after a while, to pull his mind back from the slight shock.
The artist then pushes his chair away from the table as he crouched down on the floor to switch off the electrical supply for his soldering iron, and that's when he noticed, by the slight flow of his scarf in the air, that something is wrong.
"There's wind," he stated flatly as soon as he got out of under the table. "There's not supposed to be wind," he further supported his thought, since he swore the doors and windows of the Archives are closed when he entered this area. Leo then get back to his table, not bothering to sit on his seat anymore as he collects crucial-only devices to store it in his pocket.
"And yes, I heard that," he confirmed, now finished chucking his treasures in his pockets and simply standing there beside her and stare at her, as if waiting for an order on what to do, but in truth, his brain is fast on figuring out what's the best safety area they could hide for a while until help came. "A narrow pathway..." he suddenly said.
"We need to go through a very narrow pathway. Now."

Ana then starred strait into Leo's eyes. "A narrow pathway? What narrow pathway" Ana knew nothing of the city let alone this place. Evanae was her hometown and she was typically forbidden to be in Gradia because of the whole military. Her parents were also against it. Why Ana never understood, But Ana was grown and she knew what she wanted to do.
Ana then looked at Leo, scared out of her mind this didn't look like it was going to end well. When there was another sound Ana grabbed onto Leo's arm. She didn't even realize that she did. All she knew was she was scared and not from this town. She was lucky enough to find this place. Let alone a narrow pathway.

'Oh right, she's an outsider...' Leo reminded himself at her question. He was never a person to lead, he's much of a follower, and a good one at that. He only went in the Grand Archives two or three times his whole life, since he rather search for information on his own than simply reading it in holographic writings.
There was a sudden whack on the wall that successfully distract Leo's attention, and an even more surprising distraction is when Ana quickly grab hold of his arm. Leo was a bit uncomfortable with being a person to count on, truthfully, he never believes he could lead anyone, even a mouse even, out of a maze.
Even so, he knows of human emotions. He knows this woman is frightened at the moment, and if there's one thing Leo's good at, is keeping a cool head in any crisis. He reached up his free hand to pat her on the arm, trying to calm her. Then, with a quiet steady voice, "Alright Ana, listen to me well. I need you, to take Arche, keep it quiet, and follow me. We're going to the toilet."
That would be such an odd sentence to speak in normal terms, plus he's speaking to a girl. Though, Leo's smart enough to tell her what to do one by one, slowly but clearly, good for any panicky person to listen and catch. He doesn't remember the exact turns and rooms of the Archives, but he did remember there's a narrow pathway towards the toilet, and that pathway is perfect for his plan...
"Okay, Ana. Take a deep breath, and be as quiet as you can. We're going to find the hover-shifter to go the second floor. Okay?"
Problem is, the hover-shifter, which is a form of Gradian stairs or escalator, only that it's only one lone circular plane that can hover up and down to the floors they want, is at the other far edge of the room...where they have to walk pass the hallways where the sounds emitted...

Ana looked at Leo, He seemed so calm. Like he knew exactly what he was talking about. Ana nodded her head as she went to grab Arche. Arche didn't need to be told twice. He knew when he was there was danger lurking around. The bird like thing then flew over towards Ana's shoulder. Now that Ana had Arche close by She then looked up towards Leo. "Ok" She whispered back to him.
Ana was becoming nervous, She really didn't want to get bitten anytime soon. She was only to find a cure, to help. But getting bit would lead them to no where. She had no choice but to follow leo's orders. As he started for the door, Ana wasn't far behind.

Once seeing that Ana's ready with Arche safe with her, the artist then leads her to the door slowly. He's being extremely careful not to slide his feet when walking -his usual saunter-style- and tries his very best to keep the metals in his pockets to stop tinkering with each other to produce such a loud noises. They didn't even reach 5 meters near the door when Leo suddenly pauses and turns to the girl.
"Okay Ana, we need to get to the other side of the hall..." he whispered to her, almost voiceless. He motioned for her to stay there for a bit, as he went to the side of the door to jam the little keys there with his screwdriver. Th doors in Gradia isn't your typical door after all, it opens automatically...and noisily, sometimes.
Thus is why Leo shuts down the auto and activates the manual scheme. After that, the lad shoves his tool back in his larger-than-life pocket and advances to the the door. He placed his fingers in between the crack of the double-doors, then tries his very best to open it as slowly and quietly as humanly possible.
He managed to open a very small crack as he tries to peak through, and could see nothing but an empty hallway. He waited a moment, to make sure there are no Syns in sight. Leo occasionally turns around to face Ana, to make sure she's still there. "...Do you want to wait, or do you want to move now?" he mouthed to her.

At that moment, the Syn that was stalking the two intellectuals jumped out and landed behind Anastasia. He had been observing these two for hours now and while he had a feeling that the male was cautious and had an inkling that he and his woman were not alone. The Syn though took his time like a predator that he was. He watched carefully and only moved when the male prey was preoccupied. And now was the time to attack. It was perfect timing too, the Syn thought, he was getting hungry.

Ana followed Leo down the hall as he occasionally was checking on her. She was scared out of her mind not even thinking to look back every now and then to check if the coast was clear. She held on to Arche as tight as she could without crushing his bones. When leo mouthed to her if she wanted to go. She nodded yes. When suddenly she heard a faint growling. Ana Decided to check behind her. And to her worst nightmere, There was a syn! Ana let out a scream as she threw a smoke bomb at the Syn's direction.
"Quick run!" Yelled Ana as she then ran out the door. The smoke bomb would not last forever. It only lasted enough for them to get out of the door!

One moment everything was silent and in his control, and the next moment, he could see a distorted figure behind Ana, a shrill scream bursting his eardrum, and smoke blinding his eyes. "Run?!" He repeated incredulously, now feeling the same kind of panic as the woman, and starting to make himself move from his trance state as quickly as his two slow legs could take.
He quickly went through the smoke and follows Ana out of the door, closing it behind him, and jamming the sliding effect by sticking a huge cogwheel from under his sleeve to the double door. ...He has doubts though, since there might probably be hell a lot of others in the hallway instead of inside the door.
When running, the adrenaline was rushing inside him and the blood pumped in his brain is more than enough of a boost for his thinking capacity. "Ana, how did you do that??" Smoke bombs...he never knew it existed in this day and age, and yet it exploded right under his face seconds ago. It might not be the right time to ask of something like this in the middle of a crisis, but Leo's curiosity knows no bounds and rules.
Ana's in the lead, of course, since Leo is naturally pathetic runner, but he tries to catch up a meter or so from her. Her scream will probably attract the predators to rush here, appearing from the walls and jumping out on them...the lad could see it happening in front of his eyes before it does happen.
That's why one of his hands are trying to shove itself inside his pocket -an almost impossible feat when running- to pull out one of the device he just created, just in case.

Others that were scattered within the Archives where alerted by the scream and the subsequent explosion. The immediately went into overdrive. There were people there! Flesh! They must get them before their brothers did because that would mean much more food. The Syns from other rooms made their way to the hallway, busting windows, doors, and even walls just to get to their prey. Soon enough there were up to ten Syn running after Leo and Ana. Original Syns ran on all fours while those turned ran as any man or woman would. Obviously, the originals were faster, stronger, and larger, and they were gaining on the duo fast!

Ana wasn't the best athlete in the world so how Leo managed to talk while they were running Ana would never know. Scared out of her mind she didn't dare look back. She could hear them getting closer. Then went to a fork in the hallway. Ana quickly chose the right. She didn't know exactly where she was going but she didn't have the time to stop and think either.
"ACID DEMONSTRATION!!" She yelled throwing another bomb. The bomb landed right where the syn's that were closing in on Ana and Leo. The bomb went off without a second too soon. Though she really didn't know if it would have any effect on them it was suppose to poison them and inflict damage on them. But who knows how well the poison would work at all due to the fact that they are different beings.
"No time for explanations! RUN!!!" She yelled as he probably would ask her about that too.

The attack was successful against those in the front row. The attack was made up of a tonic and acid bomb that chemically interacted with each other and exploded. The residue was a very strong acid that melted the skin off the Syns. The four Syns that were directly hit fell like flies after a couple of steps into a pile of melting and searing flesh on the floor.
Those who weren't hit merely jumped above those that fell and kept on chasing the two, gaining in speed as they did so. It was unfortunate that their brothers fell but in the end they who were still living must feed.

Ana was glad to hear that the Acid Demonstration worked. More than glad she was relieved. But it only worked on the first row. She then reached into her bag throwing 3 more.
"ACID DEMONSTRATION!" She yelled again. Throwing the 3 bottles. It caused quite a ruckus, knocking out 6 syns, that were starting to gain speed on the two. Ana then turned around the corner only to notice the doors leading out side. Ana decided to book it. They needed to get out of here and fast!

"Wha?!" Leo ducked slightly with his hands over his head when Ana suddenly throws whatever it is behind her. The thing berely touched his hair before exploding right behind him as Leo turned around his head over his shoulder to see what happened, while still running for his life. His eyes widen at how the creatures literally melted on the metal floor.
'Acid...? Since when does women store acid inside their clothes?'
He turned around his attention back to where he's running to, keeping a close eye on Ana as he did. The path that they're running in are getting darker the deeper they entered, so now, it's Leo's turn. He can't see the Syns, but thanks to the metal floor, it's rather easy to detect how far they are from the duo.
Bringing out two thick chopstick-like objects from his pocket, Leo throws each of them simultaneously on to the side walls of their path. Being magnetic, the objects simply attached themselves to the metal walls in perfect vertical allignment, and as fast as it sticks to it, the two 'chopsticks' shoots out blue laser beams from each end. As soon as the beams touched the floor and ceiling, both the chopsticks formed a sort of force field in between the two beams, preventing anyone from entering the way any longer.
Thoungh, Leo isn't fully sure if the device was fast enough to close the pathway for at least a few Syns to get through...

Ana slowed down as the feet tap began to lessen. She looked back to see nothing chasing her. Where did they go? They suddenly vanished out of thin air. She also noticed one thing. It was starting to get dark. Ana stopped for a minute placing her hands on her knees, catching her breath. She couldn't believe such things existed. "Are you....Ok?" She asked gasping for air. Ana straitened herself as she looked forward. For what ever reason they didn't follow, there was no point in going back. Ana then started to walk forward, Even though she didn't want to. If it meant it was getting darker, they weren't any closer to getting outside.
Ana continued to walk towards the dark she really couldn't see. Ana dug in her back feeling around for matches or her lighter. Stuff she uses to light up fires for her experiments. Boiling, it was almost a necessity for Ana to keep those things in handy. Finnally finding one she lit it up, to get a few of where they were going. She saw a swtich not to far from her. But as she flicked it there was no power.
