They say the devil takes on many forms as a way to deceive and is quite the charmer. But what about his son? Does Angel have a kindness that’s hidden deep within his soul despite his devilish bloodline and his mother’s witchy side?
Name: Angel Parker
Race: Warlock/Devil/Human
Age: 28
Birthday: October 31st
Astrological sign: Scorpio
Height: 170cm / 5’7”
Class/Occupation: Police Officer (Cold Case Division)
Country of Origin: England
Country of Residence: Veyyard The Lost Lands
Tattoo: His daughter’s name across his right forearm.
Elemental Alignment: Fire
Personality: Angel is a polite & calm but blunt young man and normally won’t hesitate to tell people like it is, however because he became a father as a teen and was raised by two women that love him Angel is able to read the room and take a gentler approach in his communication with others if he deems it necessary. What he learned through his grandmother, his mother, raising his daughter, and as a police officer is that each person is unique, and has seen in his experience that if he’s too blunt or rough then it can cause a person to feel hurt, shut down, and make them feel unsafe with sharing their thoughts and feelings with him.
While he doesn’t have a huge group of friends he is fiercely loyal to the ones he does and wouldn’t hesitate to help them out if asked, but on the flip side he’s also the type to not enable a person’s toxic patterns, which means that if he sees something of great concern he will let that person know even if it offends the person. Angel has the belief that sometimes we have to risk offending, because it could just save someone’s life, from either committing a terrible crime, or hurting themselves.
You will also catch Angel on his phone every so often just to see how people are too- he’s the person that would initiate contact, and he doesn’t mind, since he has a deeper understanding that some people are the initiators in their relationships, while others feel more comfortable to be contacted, but once you have Angel as a friend you can be sure that he will check in on you no questions asked, and no strings attached.
Becoming a father as a teen changed his whole life forever, including making him grow up super quickly because of the decisions he had to make for his future. He was faced with questions about whether he should keep the baby, give her up for adoption, sign over his parental rights, or have the heartbreaking discussion about aborting the child. However Angel didn’t fancy any of those options, and after discussing everything with the mother of his child, he decided to be a single father since she didn’t want to be a mother. It’s no surprise that the ending of his relationship with the mother of his child was messy and tumultuous, but it was the best thing that could have happened since Sophie was able to grow up without the parental drama.
Angel had no problems giving up his dreams to raise his daughter as she came first, and it was a sacrifice that he didn’t regret making. His mother and grandmother helped him raise Sophie, and it was thanks to their endless love and support that he was able to learn on how to be a good father and develop a strong work ethic.
Weapons/ Abilities: Angel’s weapon of choice is a war scythe (designed below using a weapon generator) & can shape-shift into a hellhound ONLY once a year on Halloween night due to the devil half of his blood. Despite his mother being a witch, Elemental magic is a lost art to him but he can can feel the magic coursing through him-- it’s almost as if it’s stuck in a way. However because Diabolic Domain recently reopened its main school doors after a huge renovation, Angel plans on enrolling in a conjuring spirits course where he can learn about elementals, and charm creation where he can learn about well, making charms since he finds them fascinating. Angel hopes that by taking these classes he can make progress with his fire alignment which he can feel throughout his body, but is unable to harness at this time.
Strengths: (Mental & Physical)
Angel will keep your deepest darkest secrets (as long as you keep his in return) is emotionally available, is resilient and able to reframe a bad situation into a positive one, after acknowledging that whatever is causing difficulty in his life at the moment sucks.
He is very physically fit due to his intense training as a police officer so he can definitely hold his own in a fight, and he's also eerily calm when he’s handling an emergency.
Weaknesses: (Mental & Physical)
The flip side of his strong work ethic comes with a negative aspect however: He hasn’t taken a proper vacation and this has caused him to suffer from extreme burnout occasionally. A small part of Angel is afraid of slowing down even though taking breaks are a huge part of emotional and physical wellness. And when he does give himself a breather he feels guilty. Angel has to learn that taking breaks can help him be the best version of himself.
Despite being raised by a loving mother and grandmother Angel has issues with forgiveness as he remembers every wrong and injustice, and can deeply hold a grudge. For Angel, giving someone a second chance is rare.
Due to the devil half of his bloodline his weakness is unfortunately hollowed ground, he can’t step foot in a church, or be near, touch or taste salt as it can make him feel incredibly sick. For many centuries salt has been used as protection against demons, evil spirits and the devil. (He DOES find angels alluring instead of repulsive though so all he can really do is stare at them from afar, and being very careful that he doesn’t seduce one of them)
Even though he is able to shape shift once a year, he will become very hungry afterwards, so he always has a lot of food, after he returns to his normal form, and if he doesn't get something to eat immediately, he will be plagued by a nasty headache, making him cranky and irritable.
Background:
Seven years ago in London, England, sitting near a windowsill in his bedroom, Angel was deep in thought, his eyes were closed, and his arms were crossed against his chest. Memories of his life swirled in his mind along with a request he received from his father. His devil father, had assigned him to head into the hidden supernatural world of Diabolic Domain to keep an eye on the demonic prisoners that lived at Justice Peak and encourage them to keep committing disgusting crimes within the prison itself, but deep down Angel felt torn about this request. He was a son of the devil but in truth saw himself as the black sheep of all his brothers-even his name “Angel” caused many heads to turn in confusion. Shouldn’t a son of the devil have a more befitting name to match his bloodline? His siblings made fun of his name but Angel felt that his name was the result of him having a human mother, and all of the qualities that came with the positive influence she’s had in his life so he wasn’t bothered by it, and is able to let the jokes and comments slide off his shoulders easily.
While his siblings felt no empathy toward creatures of all kinds, and didn’t have a sense of morality, a sense of right and wrong, Angel felt the opposite but had to pretend that he felt nothing. Nothing but the ice cold blood that ran through his veins when he knew deep in his heart that he couldn’t live up to his devil bloodline, nor did he want to. Instead he wanted to be an emotionally healthy role model to his daughter Sophie, so he consulted his grandmother on how he could approach this situation that he found himself in.
Angel’s grandmother Juno always had words of wisdom for whenever her grandson felt troubled by being a son of the devil, and when he became a teen father she once said to him in a kind but stern voice:
“Y’know dearie, just because you have devil blood coursing through your veins, doesn’t mean that you are evil. It’s a person’s choices that they make through life that determine how good or bad a person is, although you have a choice, you can live life in a neutral way where you don’t have to pick a side. Don’t be ashamed of your bloodline even if you are considered a black sheep of the family. A son of the devil shouldn’t have a moral compass, but you do, because of your mother who is a good witch, but was seduced by your father’s charming ways, which is of course how you were conceived." She paused before continuing. "Follow your own path with or without his approval, meet people. Be open to their backgrounds. Get to know them, and as you do make sure you grasp your life with both hands as you make a positive difference for Sophie. Don’t you dare apologize for it.”
Angel held his grandmother’s healthy and helpful advice close to his heart and did his best to put it into practice not only for himself but for his daughter. Sophie was his inspiration and motivation for almost everything thing he did, including spending years training and becoming a police officer before accepting his father’s request to head into the Domain but not fulfilling it in the way his father wanted. Angel wanted to be armed with the knowledge and skills that he needed, not only to survive one of the most dangerous places in the Domain, but to also make a difference and try to change the trajectory that Veyyard was headed in, and that was going to be through solving criminal cases that had gone cold, which not even the bounty hunters had managed to crack yet.
He didn’t blame them no, but Angel understood that the bounty hunters and police officers can have a shaky relationship at times, and may even butt heads and that made them lose sight of their common goal which was helping people, and he figured that if he comes to the Domain, he’d be able to share his knowledge and skill-set while also trying to build a bridge between the two organizations, and putting aside their differences. The bounty hunters and police officers didn’t have to be best buds, but they still had to work together occasionally and it's best to do so with as little tension as possible.
When the day finally came for Angel to head into the Domain his first order of business as a single father was making sure his daughter Sophie as stayed close to his grandmother and mother, as he wasn’t taking his daughter with him on this trip. Out of love and safety, Angel felt that his daughter would be better off staying in London, but he assured his little girl that he will always be the ever present dad, even as he’s working in the Domain, he won’t miss a single milestone of her life thanks to the countless ways that technology gives them to stay in touch with each other. It hurt him to stay a world apart from his daughter, but Veyyard the Lost Lands was NO place for children. He didn’t want his daughter to inherit that trauma, and he felt bad for the children that WERE raised in Veyyard.
Once Angel arrived in the Domain through the forests of Ianne he headed straight to Justice Peak and checked in as the police officer on duty at the prison, starting his investigation, all the while keeping his devil bloodline a close guarded secret.
Thus begins his adventure in this supernatural world.
