Angels have a universal mission: to help and protect people, but for Mitsuko it was more than just a duty, it was the right thing to do, it was the fabric of who she was- Kindness and love can change lives for the better. It can heal big problems, small problems, relationships, and everything in between. Kindness and love was the light that shines through the darkness.
Mitsuko was preparing for a mission outside of the domain. As an angel she would occasionally be asked to help people who were in crisis and in great need of an angel’s assistance, and her mission this time was to help reunite a family, who just weren’t seeing eye to eye with each other and it was only getting worse within the household. Mitsuko was going to join two other angels on this same mission, so she wasn’t going to be alone, but she was pregnant with her third child- her small baby bump was starting to show much earlier this time because this wasn’t her first pregnancy.
When she got this request for help she thought about taking her son Matthew with her on the mission, but then she remembered how much Zero wanted to be a part of her pregnancy journey because through no fault of his own had missed so much with his first two children due to work and them being long distance at the time. So, Mitsuko asked Zero to come along with her, which he happily agreed to. It relieved Zero that his wife wasn’t going to just take off to help someone while pregnant and him not being there with her. Zero truly wanted to be by her side, even though he couldn’t help her directly with her mission, he wanted to at least watch over her and their unborn baby. He missed so much with Matthew and Savannah when they were babies due to the circumstances with his work, that he refused to miss anything with their third child or allow his wife go through her pregnancy alone.
During their lunch dates the parents brainstormed about who should be in charge of taking care of Matthew and Savannah, and while Jean, Hunter, Madame May, and sister Syani were all great choices, each person still had their own things to take care of. So while Zero was a little stumped at what to do, Mitsuko got a brilliant idea. She suggested that Matthew stay at Savannah’s boarding school because it was safe there, and he wouldn’t be alone. Having his sister around would be a huge comfort to him while the parents were away, especially since other family members were busy. So Zero made that call at Savannah’s school, explained the situation, and luckily enough there was enough room for Matthew to take classes there, and he could bunk with his sister in her dorm room.
That evening they explained to Matthew what was going on and the young teen angel didn’t put up much of a fuss. Savannah was ecstatic that her brother was coming to stay with her for a while. The parents shouldn’t be gone for too long on this angelic mission, but Mitsuko always took her time with each family she worked with, so that healing could begin, and that they would be back on track. When the day arrived for this angelic mission Mitsuko and Zero tightly held hands, and his wife turned to him and said; “Let’s go make a difference Zero. Side by side. Thank you for not letting me go alone, with our unborn baby.”
With that the two parents embarked on Mitsuko’s angelic mission outside of the domain together- Zero keeping good on his promise and with more love for his wife then he ever thought possible.
