Hello everyone and I hope each of you are well,
I just wanted to take a moment to write out this little note for you all in wishing each of you a prosperous new year. As some of you know 2012 has been a very hard year for me personally and ever since the year started I have been working on healing from a very sensitive situation in my life.
But my purpose of writing to you all today is about giving you all a very important message that I have learned as I have gone through my experiences this year. Always remember to treasure each other and those around you. Life is short, and we must make the most of it, and do what we can to help each other. I personally have seen things that I didn’t want to see, and experienced things that I would never wish upon anyone however those situations have made me stronger.
My goal in life is clear to me now and that is to help as many people as I can. One of the ways that I am doing so is writing a book about my life, that way everyone knows my journey and what I have been through. While my rough draft of my book is not completed yet I have started to research and look into publishers, so that when it is time for me to say “I’m ready to publish” then I will know whom to go with to publish my book and to make this dream of mine a reality.
From personal experience there have been some dreams that haven’t come true because I gave up on them because: A person, talked me out of it and brought me down with their negativity, and their negativity got into my head and made me think twice about what I wanted out of my life. But ever since I changed my life and took a stand for myself I have begun to change this way of thinking.
With all my dreams I write them down on a piece of paper, so that I can see everything that I want right in front of me and then I start to slowly accomplish them one by one. Now haha these dreams of mine are pretty big so they don’t just happen overnight, but eventually they do come true. One of my dreams is and always has been nursing and making people who are unwell feel better.
The dream of becoming a nurse had started from when I was really young, and I had went with my parents to see a very sickly elderly woman whom we all called “Ma”. Ma was a very sweet lady, and had always treated those around her with so much love. She was in the hospital because she had gotten a stroke, and when I saw her just lying there in the hospital I wanted to cry. I was too young to understand why she was very ill, but even back then in the 90’s I wanted to help.
Sadly she ended up passing away shortly after.
The second time I visited someone in the hospital was when one of my childhood friends had a very serious heart condition. He had gotten very sick with his heart and I remember just crying when I saw him laying in his bed.
After that day something happened and we actually ended up losing touch with Robbie and his family (his dad was always nice to me ^_^ and I was close friends with Rosie who was robbie’s older sister, and was also born on my birthday LOL!)
And then my next few occurrences with hospitals comes from yours truly.
I was hospitalized a lot as a kid but I still remember the gentleness and kindness I received from the nurses. And becau se of my history with hospitals both personal and visiting people I wanted to always help and be there for others.
But even though the person had brought me down with their negativity, whenever I shared with them my dreams (I won’t mention any names here of who this person is because this person is a part of my sensitive situation)
I can start to accomplish my dream of becoming a nurse by educating myself by reading a few books until I can actually afford to take a nursing course. No knowledge is ever small it is the first step in the right direction of where ever you want to go in life. Just because I graduated from college doesn’t mean I can’t fufill another dream.
The point of this message is to not only share a part of me with you, but to also encourage you all to go for what you want, and to wish you all the very best for 2013. I know it’s a little early but I did want to share with you guys what was in my heart.
All the very best!
