"Understood," Sy responded with a nod of Muri's decision. He occasionally eyed his lady as they finally entered Evnae, the smoke of the city slowly encompassing the air the deeper they get into the city. Their heels clacked against the innumerable manholes on the road, and Sy is thankful that the redheaded brother is decent enough to keep his mouth shut the whole way here. After a while, they finally spotted the said cafe.
Sy walked with Muri side by side, and when they reached the door, he opened the door for her. After that, he quickly enters inside himself before letting Hikaru pass, causing the boy to slam his face against the closing door. There aren't so many customers at the moment, and Sy's grateful for that. He eyed the cakes and treats on display, then takes a look at his wristwatch. Surely he can spend his tea break here in this cafe, it seems cozy enough, and the pastries looks delectable. Then again, he's not alone, so he stood ready for Muri's orders. His duty comes first, after all.

As soon as Muri entered the cafe, her eyes began to scan the room. It didn't take long before she spotted her target, however, standing by the counter. Muri forced her most cheerful fake smile onto her face in preparation, aided only by a small amount of genuine happiness in the moment. "Ya-nii!" She called out a bit loudly in a cheerful childish voice as she ran straight towards a tall man that had similar features to her.
As the man turned to face her and Muri got close enough to him, she practically launched herself into his arms, expecting to be carried and held close. She wrapped her arms around Eyami's neck and buried her face against his shoulder, squeezing him tightly for her small frame.

Eyami had been standing at the counter in Rio Nunez, waiting for Zephel to come out for his lunch break. Since Muri hadn't returned the previous night, Eyami was rather worried. He wanted to discuss with Zephel a plan to search for her. While trying to formulate the words he'd say, Eyami was shocked out of his thoughts to hear the familiar call name she had given him.
Eyami turned around quickly with slightly widened eyes as he spotted Muri running towards him. He expertly caught her and lifted her in his arms in a way that showed he was so used to this action that it was basically second nature. As she was now clinging to him instead of missing, Eyami's expression softened. His eyes gazed warmly down at her and he almost looked like he might smile if animated facial expressions were more natural to him.
Eyami closed his eyes and held her a bit more firmly. "I'm glad you're safe." He spoke quietly into her ear, content.
When he opened his eyes again and looked up finally, he was surprised to see a familiar yet more grown up red head. Eyami's face was expressionless as he stared at Hikaru apart from his eyes remaining open a bit wide. "Hikaru..." He spoke quietly, staring at the boy, not yet sure what to say. He took a few steps closer to Hikaru to get a better look at him, hoping he wasn't still scared of him after his insanity displays from before and his bullying of his younger sibling. Thinking of many such things, the only words to come to Eyami's mind to say to Hikaru were "I'm sorry..."

"Mmf!" The slam against the glass door right at his face almost dislocated his nose, and Hikaru immediately massages said nose with his healing light as he entered the cafe. Muri's sudden shrill screaming alerted him, and then his eyes caught sight of him.
Hikaru's standing a bit behind Sy, and he feels bad when he realizes that he's somewhat glad that there's someone that's shielding him from his brother. Before he could react or think any further, Eyami meets his eyes. Hikaru's automatic reaction is to visibly flinch under his gaze. His body shrunk, his shoulders hunched, almost like he's preparing to get beaten. The redhead himself did not realize of his own reactions, and it took him a while to even raise his eyes back to look at his brother after darting back and forth from the floor to Eyami's figure.
The shoulder that he thought would shield him suddenly moved away, and Hikaru seems visibly distressed by the lack of anything in between him and his brother. Eyami's shadow on the floor moved, stepping closer to him, and the shaken Hikaru backs away immediately, bumping his back on the glass doors behind him. "I-I'm sorry!" At the very same time Eyami apologized, Hikaru cried that out, unable to hear the other. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry..! I didn't meant to take this long to bring him back, a-and I got distracted by how much the world offers here, I..! I should've come home, I should've..--! I...!" By now, Hikaru's actually tearing up and his breathing got a little ragged. "I'm so sorry, Yami-nii-san..."
He thought he'd be ready, but by how much of a wreck he is right now, he assumed no matter how much he prepares, he just emotionally couldn't. "I'm sorry, I'm... I'm okay. I'm okay." With a forceful deep breath, Hikaru wiped his face dry and faced back Eyami with a firmer expression, although his eyes are slightly puffy and red. "H-How have...y-you... been...nii-san..." He tried to smile, but it ended up looking shaky and forced.

Muri grinned to herself into Eyami's shoulder when he said he was glad she was safe. "Of course I'm safe," she muttered quietly, thinking it doesn't really matter if he hears that or not. She thinks it's funny to see others feeling worried about her since she knows what she's capable of and is only hiding her true strengths from them.
Muri's expression darkened and her muscles tensed up when Eyami uttered Hikaru's name. She gripped his shirt a bit and a glare began to form on her face, still hidden in his shoulder. Muri made a muffled irritated noise when she heard Eyami actually apologizing to Hikaru despite the fact that Hikaru was apologizing loudly at the same time. It was clear that that idiot hadn't even heard their brother's apology.
Muri finally pulled her face out of Eyami's shoulder and looked up at him with an expression that was like a mix between a glare and a teary-eyed pout. In truth, she was furious that Eyami was staring dumbfounded at the ranting Hikaru. She didn't want him to spend a single moment on that red-headed idiot. "Ne, Ya-nii.. Ignore that idiot and have cake with me instead." As Muri spoke in a cutesy demanding way, she managed to cover up most of her glare with a full on pout.

Eyami recognized the fear in Hikaru's expressions but still hoped he'd be able to calm his little brother's fears in time. He had hoped Hikaru would hear his apology and they could have a proper discussion, but as soon as Eyami began speaking his apology, Hikaru had also spoken the same words at the same time. Hikaru's apology continued, however, in a rather frantic manner. It was even more obvious then how frightened Hikaru was of Eyami. Eyami stared at Hikaru with a seemingly blank expression that held hidden hints of concern that weren't noticeable to the untrained eye. Eyami's minor expressions were rarely noticeable to most people. Eyami wanted to say something to calm his brother down, but his mind was drawing a blank. He just stared at Hikaru, processing the boy's apology and reactions.
As Eyami was trying to formulate a response for Hikaru, Muri suddenly began to shift in his arms and spoke to him. Eyami's attention was immediately stolen by the small girl sitting on his bended left arm. Eyami's eyebrows furrowed slightly at Muri's pouting demand. "Muri..." Eyami began slowly and seriously as he stared at her now. "You shouldn't continue to be so rude to Hikaru. He is our brother too after all."

Muri stared at Eyami with a glaring pout as she waited for his response. She knew there was a possibility that Eyami would refuse her, considering how differently he'd been acting since he calmed down about Zephel's disappearance and took up his role as second eldest sibling, and the mere thought of that possibility made her furious. The very idea of the person she loved the most becoming friendly with the person she hated the most was appalling to her. The fact that the light essence in a past life was largely responsible for the continued instability of the dark essence's nature made the possibility that much more personally worse to Muri. So, when Eyami reprimanded her instead of complying with her, Muri felt particularly offended.
When Eyami clearly chose to stand by Hikaru's side, Muri dropped all her cutesy pretense and pouting as her glare darkened. She stared right into Eyami's eyes with a furious and spiteful glare. For that moment of silent glaring, it almost looked as though she would bore a hole straight through him with how intense her hatred seemed. Light tufts of smoke began to hang in the air around her as well. After about twenty seconds of this intense glare, Muri finally shifted her body and climbed out of Eyami's arms, landing gracefully on the floor. She promptly turned away from the two and headed towards and past Sy, her furious glare remaining.
Muri walked straight towards a table near the far back of the cafe, as far away from Hikaru and Eyami as she could get. It was also relatively close to the kitchen entrance. She didn't say a word as she passed Sy, merely expecting him to follow her since she broke away from her siblings. Muri sat down at the table in a chair that faced the kitchen entrance, purposely choosing the side that faced away from the other two so that she wouldn't be able to watch them interact. As soon as she sat down, she pulled her right elbow onto the table and leaned her head against her lifted hand a bit as she glared towards the window to her left.

Eyami watched Muri as her cute pouting expression was completely taken over by a very spiteful glare. Eyami felt a bit surprised at first but then calmed down as he stared back at her, deciding she was just being childish with how angry she was getting over this. "Muri..." As Eyami began to speak again, Muri pulled away from him and shifted her body to climb out of his arms. He didn't struggle to hold on, rather, he also moved his arms in a way that allowed her a safe and easy dismount.
As Muri began to walk away, Eyami turned his head to watch her. He was concerned for her and also concerned by the fact that she was mad at him again now. As he watched her take a seat at a far table, purposely facing away, Eyami finally let out a quiet sigh. His body seemed to relax slightly as though he was deflated. His eyes lingered on Muri for a moment longer before he finally turned back to face Hikaru. His eyes caught the red head's first as he angled himself to face Hikaru once more, standing tall again as well.
Eyami glanced to the side at the opposite corner of the restaurant from where Muri sat, spotting an empty table, then looked back at Hikaru. "Hikaru," He began, making sure he had his brother's attention before continuing. "Sit with me and we'll talk." Eyami then turned and headed towards the empty table, glancing behind only once to make sure Hikaru was following him. He sat in the seat that was facing away from Muri's table and looked down for a moment as he sat with a slight furrow in his brow. While waiting for Hikaru to sit across from him, Eyami briefly turned to look back at Muri once more before letting out another small breath of air and facing Hikaru properly again.

'She's smoking.' Sy remarked inwardly, almost expecting Muri to blow a fuse and start one of her 'charming' temper tantrums, as he called it. Then again, it couldn't be as bad as when he first met her. He had stepped aside when the two brothers locked eyes, and now Muri had removed herself from their presence, walking pass the butler furiously. Sy simply sighed and followed suit wordlessly.
He stood beside her as she takes her seat and makes herself comfortable at her table. For a moment, he wordlessly stared down at her until he decided that he should at least make her comfortable in her anger. "I shall get us some refreshments."
Having known her preferences from traveling with her for a few days, Sy went straight to order a cup of black coffee for Muri and milk tea for himself. He also bought a few slices of different cakes in display, figuring that if Muri dislike any of these, then he'd be happy to finish them all.
With a tray filled with cakes, two drinks, a couple of small plates and cutleries, he heads back to Muri's table and sets the tray down. Sy then proceeded to remove the contents of the tray onto the table, starting with Muri's freshly brewed coffee. He puts the tray on the other unoccupied table for the staff to pick up before sitting across Muri, and crossed his leg under the table elegantly.
He remembers Muri's exact words that she told his mother back in Gradia, that her brothers were inattentive of her being missing. Of course, he's capable to tell when she's lying. What he's more curious about is why she's lying. Sy glanced to the two males standing in the middle of the cafe for a short while, measuring them. After they walked away to a table at the opposite side, he picked up his cup of tea and began drinking quietly.

Hikaru could not believe his ears when Eyami, his brother, actually reprimanded Muri. No, the fact that Eyami even stands up for him is far beyond anything Hikaru could even imagine, let alone witness in front of his very eyes. He thought that he simply misheard things, with how dearly he craved for any of his siblings' acceptance, but when he saw Muri actually smoking, it could not be Hikaru incorrectly hearing things.
When Muri hopped down from Eyami's arms, Hikaru watch her go, following her with his eyes. He wanted to say something, but he couldn't think of anything that would make her feel better, especially when everything he says would annoy her in some way. Her new friend followed her, and that eases Hikaru's mind slightly. At least Muri won't be lonely, he thought.
Very slowly, he turned his attention back to his brother and their eyes met again. Once again, Hikaru flinched, and darted his eyes down. He flinched again when Eyami called his name, and was confused for a moment on what he meant by 'talk'. Hikaru stood there on his spot for a moment longer even after Eyami had walked to the table he chose.
'My hands are shaking....' He didn't need to see it, he can feel it. So Hikaru takes a moment to breath and calm his nerves in order not to hyperventilate in front of his brother soon, and after he's sure he's at least okay to walk properly, the redhead slowly strides his way towards Eyami, eyes down the whole trip.
Even as he sits down across his brother, he refused to meet Eyami's eyes. He knows that if he does so, he's going to start shaking again, so Hikaru prefers not to to keep his cool. His back is against the backrest, almost as if he's trying to keep as much space as he can from his brother.
There was a long silence, until Hikaru eventually squeaks out, "...Am I... Am I in...t-trouble?"

Muri knew Sy was standing beside her but was too furious to even acknowledge his presence. Even as he spoke, she acted as though she didn't even hear him. She remained perfectly still, sitting there leaning on her hand, glaring towards the window.
Muri noticed Sy's return but didn't acknowledge him right away. It wasn't until he placed the cup of coffee out in front of her that her eyes finally looked away from the window. Her eyes made two sharp movements; one from the window to the wall-side edge of the table then a second from the edge of the table to the cup in front of her. She glared at the cup of coffee for a few seconds longer before slowly moving. She lifted her body to sit a bit straighter then slowly lowered her right arm to pick up the cup of coffee in front of her.
Still glaring, she lifted the cup of coffee and brought it up to her lips. She took in a deep breath through her nose as she closed her eyes and took a sip. She lowered the cup slightly as she swallowed then exhaled. She glared at the cup in front of her still as she lifted it again to take another, bigger sip. As she drank, she finally glanced up over her cup at the spread of cakes Sy had brought to the table. Her eyebrows twinged down in annoyance at the display of sugary sweet things in front of her.
She slowly scanned the cakes as she took another sip of coffee. When she noticed one cake that was coloured dark red on the inside, Muri's eyes locked on it as she lowered her cup to the table. She quietly reached out and pulled the plate with the red velvet cake on it towards her and picked up one of the forks that Sy had placed on the table.
She hovered the fork directly above the cake for a moment before she slowly stabbed it down through end of the slice. As she put the piece of cake in her mouth, her eyebrows twinged slightly. The icing was too sweet. Muri put the fork down on the plate for a moment as she swallowed the bite. She picked up her coffee and took a sip to wash down the taste of the sickeningly sweet icing with the bitterness of the black coffee.
After putting the coffee cup back down, she picked her fork up again and proceeded to scrape the icing off the cake and onto the plate. When she was satisfied that she had removed enough of it, she stabbed her fork into the cake again and proceeded to eat it, slightly less disgusted by the taste.

Eyami sat in his seat, staring at Hikaru. There was a faint trace of concern in his eyes again as he noticed Hikaru's fear and nervousness. The sight made it difficult for Eyami to decide what to say first.
Eyami's eyes widened slightly as he heard Hikaru suddenly speak first. After hearing Hikaru's question, his eyebrows twinged down slightly in concern as he watched his younger brother. Eyami replied with a simple "no" as he looked directly at Hikaru. Although he didn't mean to appear frightening, Eyami couldn't help the fact that he sat tall and looked serious and spoke in a flat tone.
"Actually," Eyami began, his eyebrows twinged down slightly in concern, "I've been meaning to apologize to you." Eyami stared at Hikaru unwavering as he resolved to properly apologize for his past mistakes and seek his brother's forgiveness. "I acted terribly towards you in the past. That was wrong of me. If I could change how I treated you back then, I would." Eyami paused for a moment to decide what he would say next.
"You are my brother, Hikaru." Eyami's eyebrows twinged faintly again. "When our family was split in two, I began to realize that we are all each of us has for certain. Instead of being cruel, I should be treasuring all of you and doing everything in my power to keep us all united." Eyami paused again as he watched Hikaru for a moment, hoping he was taking his words well.
"I hope you can forgive me... and... allow me the chance to make it up to you. I will do whatever I can to be a better brother to you from now on." When Eyami was finished speaking his part, he simply sat there quietly. He never once looked away from Hikaru, not realizing that his constant stare might be intimidating. He hoped Hikaru heard him well and would respond positively. At the same time, Eyami would understand if Hikaru remained afraid or otherwise upset. Eyami had every intention of remaining near Hikaru until he felt they had properly mended their relationship as brothers.

Sy paid no mind as Muri finally moved to consume the refreshments he had bought for them both. "Hmn. ...I can make better..." He quietly muttered to himself after he had properly savored the flavor of his tea. Setting his cup down, Sy pulled one of the many plates of cakes in front of him, purposely choosing one that has the most icing. He's in the mood for something particularly sweet at the moment, especially when he has a bitter young lady intensely stabbing a piece of cake so mercilessly sitting across him. With a fork, he simply scooped up only the icing and brings it to his mouth. 'Sweet. Very sweet. Excellent.'
That was when he noticed Muri's expression, slight as it may be, after she had tasted her cake. He looked away smiling when she brings her coffee to her lips, correctly guessing that the icing must've been too sweet for her. A thought entered his mind at that, wondering if they sell any coffee cakes he so greatly despise. He couldn't recall if he'd seen one on display, but he suppose it wouldn't trouble the baker if he would order such a thing. Another sip of his tea, and Sy had made up his mind. If Muri turns out hating it, that he can always spread icing on the cake and eats it himself.
Finishing his plate of cake in a surprisingly short amount of time, Sy pulled a piece of moist chocolate cake in front of him, while pushing his emptied plate with his other hand. It takes him only one bite, and he's already sure that this cafe will be one of his favorite places to go to have his evening tea.

At Eyami's flat 'no' to his question, Hikaru finally looked up out of surprise. Piercing red eyes bore into his soul, and Hikaru finds himself darting his eyes downwards again. When his brother spoke again, Hikaru's eyebrows scrunched up. He pulled in a breath, intending to speak up and ask why but found himself unable to do so for some reason. Then again, he does tend to get paralyzed when he's facing Eyami. The more his brother spoke, especially of how he acted in the past, the more Hikaru shook his head, "Th-that! B-but you made me b-braver..!" He managed to outburst, locking eyes with Eyami the moment he uttered that out, realized what he said and shrunk back in his seat again.
But his eyes stayed.
Red widened eyes stared at Eyami as he explained more, of them as a family, and how he should treasure them. That rendered Hikaru in complete silence, shock visibly shown on his facial expression. Even after Eyami had finished speaking, Hikaru stayed static like that, staring at his brother for a long while. Then, a sparkle. His eyes glistened, beginning to get a bit glassy, and his entire being seemed to start glowing just a slight bit. "O-oh.." He choked out, a smile was already on his face, but was covered up by the hand that reached up for his face, wiping his eyes with his sleeve. "Eheh!" He lets out a laugh, muffled by a sniffle. "Heheheh!" And finally a full-blown laugh. With his hand now not covering his face, it's easy to see by his moist cheeks that his tears streamed down the more he laughed.
"Wh-at are you talking about, nii-san..?" His voice now a bit broken by the gasps of air from his crying, his tone sounds a bit more hushed than he intended. With a sniff and a long inhale to calm his convulsive gasps, Hikaru tilted his head to the side as he looks at his brother through his tears, "I never, ever, resented you. You're my brother, and I love you." His face grows hot by that sudden slip at the end, but Hikaru doesn't care anymore. It almost felt like he doesn't need to hold back anymore, like he can tell his brother anything. He's not even embarrassed he's crying.

Muri's glare darkened more as she stabbed her fork into her cake again. A flash of a memory had spread through her mind. Her hand tightened around the fork that was stuck in her slice of cake. She was recalling the moment that changed Eyami's personality for good; the moment Hikaru killed him while a spirit was still attached to him.
Slowly, Muri shifted her eyes to the side and turned her head just enough to glance over her shoulder and see her brothers in her periphery. Slight tufts of smoke began to emanate from around her hand and arm that held her fork while her cornered eyes glared at them. After a moment longer, Muri quickly looked back down, finally noticing the smoke and released it to disappear into the air. She finally picked up the slice of cake onto her fork and shoved it into her mouth.
Muri continued to glare at her cake as she continued to eat it, taking well-needed sips of coffee after every two bites of cake. Despite her anger, Muri focused on controlling herself for the time being to keep smoke from emanating off her again. She didn't want to bring too much attention to herself at Zephel's place of work, since she would be frequenting there often.
