The dangerous thing about the slums of Evnae is that there are many fairly skilled illusionists that do dirty dealings to get by. Particularly, some group up and begin stalking the more open land between the slums and the main city and use their illusions to kidnap and rob people.
The group of three male illusionists made their way to that area. It was good for them, but bad for travelers, that there were a lot of large rocks and a few trees along the paths. There, the illusionists hid, lying in wait for people coming either way.
The three were spread out along the path. When someone came from the slums, the person at that end would send a small rat illusion scurrying over towards the other two to alert them to a passerby. When someone came from the city, the other would send a small bunny illusion to alert the others of that passerby.
Then, as the passerby approached the more skilled illusionist of the three in the center, they would be trapped in his illusion. Once that person is trapped, the main illusionist will enter and either hold that person for ransom or steal whatever he deems valuable from them.
This is exactly what happened when a red headed boy made his way across the open land. His purpose for traversing that land meant nothing to the illusionists so long as they got something off of him. Once he reached their sweet spot, he was immediately trapped in an illusion where his surroundings all suddenly turned red.
The main illusionist revealed himself in his illusion with a wicked and twisted grin. "Alright, boy... Give me all your money and valuables and I might just let you go free."

"I'm sure I told him I'll be visiting...or..maybe I..haven't.. Oh no, what if I forgot..?" Mumbling to himself as he walked across the open land towards Evnae, Hikaru was too preoccupied in trying to remember if he contacted Zephel or not to tell him that he's coming by.
He was so distracted, he doesn't even realize he's walking straight into a trap. As he scratches his head in trying to come up with something to tell his brother of his surprise visit, the atmosphere around him suddenly turned red.
"BAH!" Jumping back slightly by the sudden surprise, Hikaru took an even larger step back when he sees someone appearing out of nowhere in front of him. When the man spoke to him, Hikaru's shocked expression morphed into a rather pitiful teary face.
"Whaaatt...?!" His voice sounded like he couldn't believe what he's hearing. "I've been mugged three times in a row this week! This makes it the fourth one!" Slapping his own face as he stated so rather loudly, Hikaru then wiped his face with his palm downwards and inwardly sighed at his bad luck.
Facing back the man now with a depressed expression, Hikaru almost pouted as he says the truth, "I don't have anything...! Really! I was just about to visit my brother and ask him if he could maybe give me an early allowance..!" Hikaru never lies, but strangers doesn't know that.
"I mean, he works in a cafe! Maybe if you come with me there and pretend to be my friend, you can get a free cake~! Nii-san's cakes are usually really super good!" He suddenly suggested cheerfully, looking up at his oppressor hopefully, actually attempting to fraternize this man who's trying to rob him.

Once he had successfully trapped the boy inside his illusion, he illusionist thought that his victim would fear him since the boy didn't look like he traveled much and illusions must be quite new for the boy. His initial shocked face was amusing to see, but then the continued reaction from the boy is something he didn't expect.
"............" He doesn't know what to say and merely glared at the redhead fiercely, perhaps that will shut him up. It didn't work, to his disappointment, the boy just kept on ranting.
Seeing as the kid won't shut up, the illusionist grabbed him by the collar and tries to threaten him up close. "Listen here, kid. Just shut the hell up and empty your pockets, I'll be judge on whether or not you have anything."

Hikaru's eyes widened as he immediately raised his hands in a defensive manner the second the dude grabbed his shirt and pulled him under his glare. His reflex was screaming at him to push this man away and begin a chain of defense-based attacks, but the light wielder held himself back, believing that he can peacefully stop this without a fight.
"Okay, okay!" He decided to listen to the man for now and fished out his wallet from his back pocket. Before he can even give the man, the mugger grabbed it from his hand. In that same second, his collar was released and Hikaru was pushed back. Trying to balance himself, he fixed the coat he's wearing and looked at the mugger worriedly.
"See, I told you, I have nothing.. My cake offer still stands though!" He still hope this guy would listen to him now.

The illusionist grimaced then chucked the empty wallet back to the red headed boy. As he was just about to move closer to start beating the useless boy up, he saw a rat coming from one of his partners. In a swift motion, he grabbed the boy's collar and dragged him behind a rock, tying his hands together and pushing him to sit hiding behind the rock.
''make one sound and I'll kill you, boy.'' the illusionist whispered in a threatening hushed tone. There he waited until the new victims would fall into his trap.
When the two were close enough, he trapped them in his red illusion as well.

Muri wandered the country of Evnae since leaving Elysia's house with Sy after breakfast. She had decided she didn't want to go straight to Zephel's cafe. Instead, they wound up in the slums of Evnae.
Muri quite loved the poisonous air in the slums, but she didn't want to spend the entire day there especially when she knew her brothers were probably stupidly worried over where she went and if she's okay.
As she made her way back to where the cafe was, she suddenly noticed a strange rat scampering across the plains. She knew in an instant what it was and stopped walking.
She briefly glanced back at Sy to see if he'd noticed it too, then turned to face the hidden illusionist. Faint traces of her smoke were able to mix well into Evnae's polluted atmosphere. When her smoke found the illusionist, she pulled him out.
He was lifted in the air by the smoke that firmly gripped his neck. The man hung there, choking by the force, as Muri stood still and smiled a devilish grin.
''I wonder what pathetic friend of yours received that signal you sent. She said in a cruel tone as though she was having fun. ''I'd better finish you off quickly so i don't keep him waiting too long. Might make him suspicious. You understand. In any case, he'll be joining you soon.
Muri held a wicked grin as more of her smoke rushed quickly into the man's lungs, filling them until they burst inside from the pressure. With a twisted grin, she dropped him to the ground, leaving him to bleed internally while suffocating to death.
As they continued walking, Muri grinned expectantly when the atmosphere around them changed, signaling an illusionist was trying to trap them. Muri looked in the direction of the new illusionist before he even came out and revealed himself. If not for her disturbing grin and awareness of him, he'd have immediately continued his thief bit. Instead, he was stunned silent.
Grinning wickedly and knowingly because of the look on the man's face, Muri spoke up first. ''I despise weaklings.'' she said in a cold and cruel voice before sending a surge of smoke straight through the guy's abdomen, similar to what she'd done to Sy before but simpler in that she only had to gracefully out stretch one hand.
The man dropped to the ground as the surrounding redness disappeared. Feeling someone else there because of her currently scattered smoke particles, Muri swiftly dragged the other person out from behind the rock. While choking him in the air, she glared at the boy who looked far too familiar.
''tch'' She uttered annoyedly as she glared at him before dropping him unforgivingly to the ground. The first thing she didn't want to admit was that he looked stronger and taller than before. It pissed her off that he'd grown so much and she almost didn't even want to admit it was him.
''You won't find Zephel if you're hanging about criminals, you dolt.'' she said coldly. ''Honestly! Can you never do anything right? I'm ashamed you're even related to me.''
As she spoke in her annoyed tone, her true hatred seething beneath the surface, she cut the rope that bound Hikaru's hands. She glared at him a bit longer before deciding to introduce him to Sy.
''Sy, this is my useless brother Hikaru.'' she said a bit annoyedly then proceeded to walk without telling Hikaru who Sy was. ''let's get going. I don't want to take all day.''

The wallet hits Hikaru square on the head as Hikaru squinted his eyes close and caught it as it fell in his palms. "Hey-" Just as he opened his eyes, he found himself being dragged behind a rock and got his hands tied. "Mister, aren't you tired of doing th--" Threatened again before he can even finish his sentence. Hikaru sighed, wondering where do some people even get that kind of determination. It took him a while, but the redhead finally realizes that the thief doesn't have his attention on him any more, seeming to be quite distracted with whatever's behind the rock.
Hikaru took the time to put his wallet back in his pocket, but proved to have a bit of difficulty with his tied hands. He noticed the guy leaving the rock after a while, by this time giving up in pocketing his wallet. It's only until he heard sounds of choking did Hikaru got up on his knees and peeked from the rock, concerned if someone's hurt. Before Hikaru could even realize what's going on, something constrained his neck and pulled him up in the air.
"Hkk--!!" With his constrained wrists trying to reach for whatever's around his neck at the moment, Hikaru struggled in the air. As quick as he was brought up in the air, gravity pulled him down without much of a mercy. Hikaru coughed violently, massaging his neck while taking a greedy breath of air. He laid there with his stomach against the ground for a moment, just steadying his breathing, until a very familiar female voice reached his ears. Immediately, he pulled his head up, eyes slowly widening at the sight before him.
"Muri......" he choked, almost in a whisper. He pulled himself up on his knees, still keeping his eyes locked on her, even as she unbinds him from the rope tying his wrists together. Hikaru slowly got up on his feet, seeming entranced by his sister, and walked towards her almost in a daze. "Muri," his voice is clearer in calling her name this time, and without a moment's notice, Hikaru launched a hug towards her, even while knowing full well she will detest it. "I-I miss you..!! I.. You've grown...!! Y-you're, you're so pretty now, Muri!" He couldn't help laughing and crying at the same time, choking in his own words.
Hikaru is so happy to be hugging her like this, he didn't even mind what she's going to do to him later. He truly does love his little sister very much.

One minute they're walking towards the path to Evnae, next minute they realized they're the target of a mugging trick. When Muri glanced at Sy, Sy already has his eyes on Muri, a tired expression on his face. His mother was correct, there is indeed a mugging case happening here.
Just as he's about to summon his staff and take care of the matter, Muri had already moved to detect and kill the illusionist. Sy locked back his arms at his side, smiling a slight bit that he doesn't have to use his energy. "Nicely done," was all he commented.
Walking aside her some more, Muri pulled out another illusionist. 'That leaves one more...' "I'll go settle the last one, princess." He politely excused himself from the red space of illusion and simply walked down the road with his usual pleasant smile. Sy took his time until the mugger jumped on him, in which he easily beheads while making sure the blood won't taint his clothes.
After he's done, Sy walked back to the large rock and returned to his place beside his lady. It surprises him when she does not kill this redheaded mugger, and shows hints of knowing this man. Once he was introduced to the identity of this stranger, Sy stared at him for a moment and nodded. "He does look rather useless... Pleasant to meet you, Hikaru."
Though, even as he said so, the redhead doesn't seem to even register his presence. Sy steps back placidly when the man seems to get emotional over Muri, which amuses Sy, awaiting her response to this.

As Hikaru walked towards her in a daze, Muri glared back at him with a disgusted sort of look. Her eyes widened angrily in her glare when she suddenly realized he was launching a hug at her. "Agh! Ugh! Get off!" Muri shouted angrily, using a strong burst of smoke to pry him off of her, tossing him more than a few feet aside. "Stupid Hikaru!" She scolded angrily, showing she truly hates any attempt he might make at physical contact with her.
Muri was mildly pleased of Sy's agreement in how useless Hikaru appeared, though she didn't show it. She glanced at Sy briefly, then glared at Hikaru again. "Don't lag behind or I'll leave you with the next muggers we find." She said in a demanding and annoyed tone to Hikaru. "Let's go, Sy." She commanded in a slightly less demanding and annoyed tone as she continued to walk in the direction of her oldest brother's cafe.

It was 4 seconds. Four short seconds that he gets to touch her. As he was flung in the air by her, Hikaru couldn't help but recalling how long ago was the last time she allowed him to hold her like that. He suddenly remembered that night of how scared she was of him when they were very young, and then the hatred that follows thereafter. Reflexively, Hikaru spun his body in mid-air, landing on the ground on all fours like a feline. He paused after that surprisingly graceful landing, something he learnt from sparring with his former martial arts instructor, then he slowly pushed himself up on his feet. A saddened expression clouded over his face as he straightened himself, being reminded of how she ran away from him once, before a genuine smile curves up his lips.
He raised his eyes to look at Muri, his beloved sister, and Hikaru assured himself that her intense dislike of him doesn't matter now, as long as she's safe and happy. His eyes held a sort of gentleness as he stared at her, lips almost twitching into a grin at her familiar scream of him being stupid. He really does miss her that every single thing she does makes him smile wider and wider. Hikaru was almost glowing when Muri told him to not fall behind, happy that she even allowed him to walk with her. "Okay!" He responded in high-spirits, already jogging his way near her.
That was the time when he finally registered the presence of another man, who stood straight with an air of elegance about him. What slightly bothers Hikaru is how close he stood to Muri. With his brows creasing, Hikaru shot the man a sharp look, "Who're you...?"

Sy raised one of his gloved hands lightly above his lips, very amused by the events followed. However, his eyes widened slightly when he saw this useless boy managed to land on both his hands and feet, stopping his torso from crashing on the earth. "Oh my," Sy whispered to himself, glancing at Muri to see whether or not she saw it too.
When the boy -Hikaru, he reminded himself- struts up to follow Muri, he finally realized that Sy is standing nearby. "As I've said before, I am Sy. Her butler." He politely gestured towards Muri, "She won me over with a bet." After that short explanation, Sy turned around to accompany Muri, making sure to keep up with her steps and stayed beside her the whole time, leaving Hikaru behind them.
"This cafe we're heading... what is it called?" Curious if this is the same cafe that his mother had once catered from to provide her friend a birthday cake, Sy pondered if they serve his favorite cakes there.

"Hmph!" Muri let out a slight huff after pushing Hikaru off. She had instantly faced away from him with her eyes shut in anger and her arms crossed, so she didn't see his landing. She opened her eyes after a few seconds when she was prepared to leave and ordered Hikaru not to lag behind, then walked passed him to continue. She was very annoyed now to have Hikaru in her company. Despite her small frame, Muri was able to keep a fairly quick pace without much effort.
Muri let out another annoyed huff of air when Sy inquired what the cafe they're heading to was called. She wouldn't be so annoyed by such a simple question if it hadn't been for Hikaru's presence. "Rio Nunez Cafe," she replied in a curt manner.

Hikaru felt something slightly off about this...Sy, and wondered why would Muri wanted a butler of all things. His doubt of the man slowly faded once he settled to the thought that Muri might just be lonely and want new friends instead of just talking to her siblings all the time. "Hey, how old are you?" Now loosing suspicion of the person, his question sounded more easy-going as he peers at the guy from behind. He looked somewhat older than Muri, it's somewhat odd for him to see his little sister making friends with older guys.
After that, he shifted his attention to Muri, or the back of her head really, with how they're both walking ahead of him. It feels quite nostalgic to be within her presence again, just looking at her made him crack an unconscious smile. "Hey Muri..." He whispered, unsure if she'd choose not to listen to him but tried to talk to her anyway, "How are you doing so far...?" It'd be a lie if he's not at least a little bit curious on how his little sister is doing. He expected her to ignore him completely, but even that is nostalgic to him and he'd smile either way.
"You look... You look like you're doing great..." Perhaps it's the way those two walk, but their gait and even their steps looks like it's in perfect synchrony for some reason. They even have some sort of oddly regal air by the way they walk together side by side like that, it's quite a sight from behind. "...How long have you two known each other, exactly?"

"Rio Nunez..." Sy repeated Muri's answer to him with a slight tap of his gloved finger against his chin. After a moment, he finally recalled why that sounded so familiar. "Ahhh, that cafe. Rio Nunez. I remember now. Good catering. Excellent ganache." For them to be well-known even in Gradia, he wondered why the shop haven't established a restaurant chain in other countries yet with its steadily growing popularity.
"Hmn?" He turned his head slightly back to glance at their redheaded companion upon his curiosity of his age. Usually, he'd prefer it to answer in a vague manner, but the light in the boy's eyes somewhat tells Sy that if he were to lack clear answers, the boy would be too happy to ask more. Which is something Sy would like to avoid. "20," short and concise, hoping it'd kill the conversation. He turned his head forward after that, to signal that he doesn't wish to talk to him any more.
Though, Hikaru's attention was then turned towards Muri, which Sy paid no mind of. He settled his gaze forward with his chin slightly high, sauntering alongside the girl without a word. His eyebrows twitched a bit when the boy spoke again, now asking how long they've known. "Recently," Sy answered briefly, now without turning behind him.
"Princess, do you think I might be in the way of your...sibling reunion?" It took him a moment to word it out. He's not quite good with crowded areas, especially within a closely-knitted circle that he has no connection of. "I can remove myself from your presence for a short while if that's the case."

Muri walked forward with a glare on her face and an angry tension in her body. She could almost feel the light essence behind her and a part of her mind felt like it had to be on guard against such a bright light source. She despised that light source from the depth of her being.
Her face twitched the moment she heard Hikaru's voice, despite his question being aimed at Sy. When he then directed a question at her, her glare seemed to deepen even more. She had no intention of responding to him, and as though to drive in the point of her unwillingness to speak, she picked up her walking pace a bit more.
Muri's glare twitched annoyedly again at Hikaru's next question to the both of them, which she ignored. She didn't care that Sy decided to answer, however vague, though she didn't see it necessary to respond to someone she hates.
She was less annoyed to hear Sy speaking to her, though the content of his question bothered her. She cornered her eyes to him as they walked and simply responded with a curt "no." She figured she could still fake it with Zephel and seeing Eyami might help lift her mood slightly, but she had no intention of sticking too close to them now that Hikaru was joining in. She planned to stick with Eyami, but even she wasn't sure just how he would respond to seeing Hikaru again. The thought troubled her.
