Name: Jackal Simone Casely
Nickname: Black Jack; Jack
Race: Human
Age: 24
Class/Occupation: Black Jack Dealer
Country of Origin: Veyyard
Country of Residence: Loier Strip, Evnae
Background: Caine Casely was dragged into the mob in Veyyard by way of his uncle that he had been raised by due to his absent parents. His uncle had been a long standing high end member of the mob and Caine was to become a full member upon his graduating school. Wishing to be a doctor, Caine remained in school far longer than most others and was awarded his doctorate from an advanced school in Gradia.
Upon officially joining the mob his uncle was a top member of, Caine became the head doctor for the main men in the mob. He rarely saw women and never saw the lower end members who were considered far beneath him, lackeys to the main leaders.
Caine eventually married a girl he met in Veyyard and she came to be pregnant and gave birth to a beautiful littlegirl boy. Caine knew the dangers of raising a girl in the mob life, as the mob members were very unkind towards women. Because of this, he lied on her birth records since he had the power to do so and claimed she was a boy.
He urged his wife to go along with him for their daughter's safety and she accepted on the condition that they use her chosen female name, Simone, as their daughter's middle name. Caine thought that Simone was a bit of a weird middle name for a boy, but because it was her only request, he went along with it and they named their "son" Jackal Simone Casely.
Jack was raised in their rather large apartment, rarely being taken outside except to trips outside of Veyyard. When she was five, Jack was sent to a high class boarding school in Sougen where all of the mob members' sons attended. Caine paid the head doctor of the school a heavy sum to allow him to do his own checkups on his "son" as he was a very particular man being his excuse.
It was at this boarding school where Jack met Ian, a young boy her age, who accidentally discovered her secret when he spotted her changing. Jack had quickly thrown on her clothes and begged Ian not to tell anyone because she and her parents would be in a lot of trouble if anyone else found out. Ian, being a good boy, promised to keep Jack's secret and reassured her with his gentle smile that her secret was safe with him.
After that, Jack and Ian began to hang out more and became good friends. It wasn't long, however, before they started to like each other as more than just friends, especially since he had already known and perfectly kept her secret from anyone else.
Together, in secret, Jack and Ian spent a lot of time talking to each other about their lives and their thoughts. One day, they ended up admitting their feelings, Jack's admittance being rather more hesitant than Ian's due to her mixed feelings over her own situation. There, the two of them shared their first sweet kiss and many kisses after as they dated in secret.
When they were sixteen, Ian took Jack to their secret place. He had decorated the place with violets, like the colour of her eyes. There, Ian smiled gently to her and knelt before her to ask her to marry him when they were out of school. Ian didn't give her a ring because he knew that would be too obvious a thing to give her secret away, so he instead handed her a violet that she accepted as if it was both the happiest and most frightening thing she had ever done.
The two continued to date in secret for a while longer until her father one day caught them kissing in her private dorm room when he was making a surprise visit. Furious at what was going on and desperate to keep Jack's secret from being exposed, Caine pointed his gun directly at Ian's head with a dangerous glare. Jack had stepped in front of Caine and explained that Ian had known since she was eight and has kept and even protected her secret since then.
This did not satisfy Caine, although he put his gun away, and he ordered the two to break up and not see each other again. At Jack's refusal, Caine left in anger towards his disobedient child and her boyfriend. When he returned to Veyyard, Caine had found out about a young assassin that was available to the higher ups in the mob that even he could get a hold of. Caine called this young boy, known as the code name Kagetsuki, and ordered him to go kill Ian. He had given Kage all necessary descriptions of his own son and the boy that hung around with him that was to be killed.
A few nights later, gunshots were heard ringing throughout the dormitories and everyone was awoken by the sound. They all gathered towards the room the sound came from and, when Jack realized that it was Ian's room, she rushed inside to make sure that he was okay. Finding him dead there, Jack's world instantly fell apart. The killer had already gone and Jack dropped there on floor beside his bed where he lay dead and cried.
A few teachers finally arrived and escorted Jack back to "his" room, away from who they considered her best friend who had died. Ian's parents were contacted and, within a few days, they held his funeral which Jack attended in full black and tears in her eyes.
When Jack was nearing graduation, she was given a number of possible suggestions of what profession to take up that she had to look over with her parents. Caine, harder on her than before, but still wanting to protect her, decided that a profession that kept her out of Veyyard was best. As they looked over the professions and thought of what her skills were best suited for, Caine decided that he would send Jack to train and work at their main Casino in Loier Srip in Evnae.
Upon graduation, Jack was sent off to the North Star Casino in Evnae to train. Since "his" name was Jack, a lot of the higher ups agreed that it would be a good novelty to take advantage of and they decided to have her man one of their Black Jack tables. The tables were ranked in colour by their minimum betting standard. The red table had a minimum bet of twenty-five dollars, the green table had a minimum bet of fifty dollars, and the black table had a minimum bet of one hundred dollars.
Their intention was for Jack to eventually be good enough to man the black table to add onto the novelty of "his" name, but started her as a beginner on the red table. Because of the general simplicity of the game and Jack's ability to learn quickly how to shuffle decks of cards in the most interesting of ways, it didn't take more than a couple of years for her to move up to the black table and be known as Black Jack.
On their busiest nights, mainly the weekend nights of Friday and Saturday, the blackjack tables offered a 6:5 single deck play instead of the usual 3:2 eight deck play. This would give the house a higher advantage of winning against the player and offer a lower percentage payout to the player if they won. Although this meant that the player would not be able to win as much or as often, they had spread the idea of this single deck 6:5 blackjack game as a novelty only available on the weekends for their most confident of customers. This, of course, greatly triggered the excited urge that most of their customers had towards taking on the bet.
Jack's line of work is not the most honest but it holds the least danger of all other possible positions in the mob. She rarely ever sees her parents anymore, blaming her father for Ian's death since she just knew that it was him or someone he hired who killed him. The last time Jack went to see Caine was at her mother's funeral when she was twenty-one, exactly three years ago.
She spends most of her days traveling the main surrounding countries, through Gradia, Evnae, Ianne and Kumo. She rarely goes elsewhere and she spends every night working the black Blackjack table at the casino. A few times during the summer, she may also be seen heading out to the beach or the hot springs in Fijion.
Personality: Jack is a very kind and friendly person to most people. She draws a lot of players to her black table due to her sharp charisma and the entertaining ways in which she shuffles the decks of cards. She's always friendly to the customers, even when they're making a scene; although she may be seething underneath at the annoyance.
In terms of romance, Jack has never even thought to get close to anyone else in that manner and is constantly having to come up with reasons to deny women who ask "him" out. She also avoids getting too close to the men who work with her, refusing to accept another best friend. Because of how friendly she usually is regardless, though, the guys simply call her picky and don't get too upset at her keeping to herself more often.
People often claim that Jack is almost too pretty to be a guy and this causes her face to flush slightly and she'll either let it rest or ask confidently if they want her to prove it, since most people would reject such an idea anyway. She tends to hide her real feelings most of the time, rarely even being honest with herself. Keeping secrets has become a great skill of hers since she lived her entire life as a guy despite knowing she was a girl and had a secret relationship with someone who died that she will never talk about to anyone.
Jack generally thinks carefully to herself through almost every single move or action she decides to make. She thinks a lot and this allows her to speak only little, whatever she decides after thought is right to say in any given situation. Because of her habit of thinking through everything like this, she would be in a very disadvantageous position if faced with a telepathic.
Jack doesn't have a particular appetite for gambling unless the wagers and odds are in her favour. She merely does this as her job but is very good at the game she plays. Due to how often she manages to win, she may be considered to some here and there as a cheater, but cheating was never in Jack's personality. She likes when things are fair, despite going along with game rules from time to time that are slightly more disadvantageous for her customers. She doesn't feel too badly about this since Jack rather prefers having the advantage in any given situation.
Weapon(s)/ Abilities: Jack carries a gun hidden in her jacket at all times, except when she forgets it in her other jacket. She will occasionally also have a flick knife in her pants pockets, again occasionally forgetting it in her other pants. She's not much of a fighter but she has fairly decent aim. She is able to shuffle decks of cards in magnificently stunning ways. She will sometimes even flick her cards towards someone at a last attempt at using some form of defensive weapon; at least they could be distracting or give her foe a paper cut. Jack ALWAYS has at least one deck of cards in her jacket pocket at all times, something she never seems to forget.
Strengths: Jack considers her ability to keep secrets to be a strong point of hers. She generally decides things for herself quickly and is very rarely one to change her mind. Jack would consider her greatest physical strength to be in the way she shuffles her cards so fast and trickily. She also has pretty good aim with guns, knives and cards, more often than not directly hitting her mark.
Weaknesses: Jack is weak at any memories of Ian, even the good ones. She will immediately begin feeling depressed and try to distract her mind or forget. If someone were to be able to read past her attempts to lie and keep secrets, she would be done for mentally and emotionally and may start to panic. Jack's physical strength and speed is that of an average woman which is highly disadvantageous for her life as a man.
