Remi found himself standing at the entrance of the only religious building in all of Veyyard. It was exquisitely large and beautifully made, but sight-seeing was not Remi's reason for coming here. Throughout his life, he had never seen reason to come here, but there was something nagging at his heart that he couldn't shake.
Although it seemed a little improper to carry weapons into such a place, Remi was never without his guns and backup knives hidden under his black trench coat. Staring with an expressionless face at the doors of the cathedral a moment longer, Remi eventually pushed open the doors and went inside.
The inside of the cathedral was just as grand and beautiful as the outside. There were stained glass windows that, with the faint light coming in from the cloudy skies outside, the colours reflected the images in the windows over the floors below.
Remi looked around the cathedral as he entered, always weary of other people around him. He made his way to the front of the altar and stopped just before. Remi never believed in the stuff that was preached in these churches and still never cared to belief in any of it for himself, but there was someone he just couldn't get out of his mind. She was his reason for entering this place.
Remi knelt on the ground in front of the altar and stared down, his hands on his knees as he looked past them, thinking about her. "I don't need any kind of saviour... I don't even want to be saved..." He began as he thought of her, a small glare forming on his face in place of the sadness and worry inside. "But if there is someone out there, listening... Please watch over her and protect her..."
The glare remained on Remi's face as he looked at the floor, his thoughts filled with images of her. He had heard from the people he grew up under that she had left that home a number of months after he had left. He was glad about this. However, all he knew was that she had left the house. He wasn't sure how far she managed to go or where she had ended up or what she would be doing. He only held hope that she was doing right for herself.
Remi clenched his fists on his knees as he continued to glare towards the floor, his body starting to shake slightly with anxiety over her. No matter what happens to her, it's better that she is not in Veyyard, he thought. The least he could do is send a prayer whether someone out there exists or not in hopes that she will be protected.
"Kyori..." He finally muttered, inaudible, as he thought of her then finally closed his eyes. 'Just be safe.... Kyori...'

“Auntie Mitsuko, do you think I’ll get better soon? I really want to play with the other kids; I miss running around, climbing up trees, and your classes. I’m sorry if I take away a lot of your time when you are so busy but thank you for coming to take care of me Auntie Mitsuko. Thank you for telling me stories, and staying up with me when I can’t sleep at night.”
A child’s voice can be heard from a room within the cathedral, where the angel was. This child was very sick with the flu that he had been put on bed rest for a whole week. The little boy was so weak and had a high fever but the angel that he was with took the responsibility and had taken care of him since he got sick. The child was very grateful to the angel, as it made him feel more at peace. The young boy was one of the orphaned children that lived here at the church, and Mitsuko would come here often to take care of him and the other orphaned children on a daily basis.
The orphaned children even got escorted by the monks every week to the Alamo Inn where they attend Mitsuko’s classes in which she taught them reading, and writing, seasons, safety and a lot of other topics in which children his age learn.
“Can you sing me a lullaby?”

Mitsuko looked at the child and smiled at him as she took off the cloth that was on his forehead that is used to break the fever, and renewed the cloth in cold water and gently placed it back on his forehead.
When the child had asked her if he was going to get better from the flu, she picked up the child from his bed and held him. In truth it scared her whenever a child gets sick, they become so weak and so vulnerable, that her motherly aura kicks in overdrive, even though she wasn’t a mother herself yet this was her nature. She loved children and she would do anything just to see these children happy and healthy.
All she could do was provide comfort to the child that was sick with the flu, and nurse him back to health slowly. Being an angel she was able to take away some of the child’s discomfort and to stabilize the little boy, so that way the flu doesn’t get worse and he’ll be able to get a chance to recover properly. She stroked the little boy’s hair and gently started to sing to him a lullaby, in order to help him sleep. Shortly after she had sensed someone enter the cathedral, but this person’s presence felt somber.
The angel was so in tune to what a person’s feeling that her heart sunk when she felt this somber presence. She gently put the child back on his bed and tucked him in. He was now asleep so she quietly left the room and saw a young man on his knees asking if someone could look after someone. Then a name was called out at the end of his prayer, and that name was Kyori.
In his voice Mitsuko could hear the worry he had for this young girl that he had mentioned. The angel didn’t want to interrupt his prayer so she just went quietly beside him and said a prayer herself, for the young boy that she was nursing back to health.
Mitsuko was an angel but her wings weren’t present at the moment so at first glance a person wouldn’t be able to tell if she’ an angel but just a regular human girl. After some silence the angel spoke to this young man in a gentle tone to see if she can try to comfort this stranger.
“I’m sorry, I don’t know Kyori but if I did meet her, I would help her in anyway that I can. If you want to tell me more about her I’ll be happy to listen to you.”
The angel looked at this man with her blue eyes that were full of gentleness and warmth, ready and already paying attention to what he had to say. She was a stranger to this man yes, but she would never leave a person in such low spirits. She always wanted to help someone and while she was a quiet type of person the angel was there for others. She placed a hand on this man’s shoulder and smiled at him.

Shortly after Remi's thought had finished, he noticed the presence of someone else in the room and opened his eyes again. As the person approached him, his eyes shifted to look over at a woman who then knelt near him and started to pray quietly. Without his head turning towards her, his eyes scanned her for a moment, deeming her harmless, then looked back down towards the floor.
Remi's eyebrow flinched slightly as she finally spoke and said Kyori's name, proving that she had heard what he said. His eyes turned into a slight glare at this as he watched the ground for a moment long. His muscles tightened then when she touched his shoulder. His first instinct was to grab her wrist and throw her off of him, but he tried to suppress himself due to the nature of this building.
Remi turned to face the woman beside him with a slight glare molded into his eyebrows and a cold look in his pale blue eyes that seemed almost white in the lighting of the cathedral. "I'm not one to tell personal details to strangers." He said after a moment in a smooth but cold voice. Although, in truth, he really wasn't one to tell anything personal to anyone regardless of how close he was to them.

Mitsuko could tell that he didn’t want her touching him—honestly that was the first impression that she had gotten before she placed a hand on his shoulder but she did it anyway since she was a touchy feely type of person and of course she means no harm to anyone. She slowly removed her hand from his shoulder after a while.
“Then you don’t have to tell me. We can just stay quiet if you want. Although if you met me a few years ago, I would be one to try and get it out of you.. But I realize that people need their personal space and privacy. As much as I want to help I don’t want to intrude, so I prefer it if the person just tells me out of their own free will. I just make it known that I am willing to listen.”
Out of her own heart and politeness she actually apologized to this young man if she did anything to offend him because of the glare she saw in his eyes.
”I’m sorry if I did anything or said anything to offend you, I truly didn’t mean any harm. I’ll be back okay?
Mitsuko got up from the floor and went and got a little tea set that was on a tray along with two cups, tea bags, boiled water, and even honey. She felt there would be a chance that this young man wouldn’t trust her in making tea for him since she was a stranger, so she had just brought everything on a tray so he can make it himself if he wanted a cup of tea.
She placed the tray between them, and even though the angel was a stranger to him—if someone was outside of the cathedral looking in through the windows it would look like these two were friends having a civil conversation over tea. Mitsuko could sense that he kept a lot of things to himself, but deep down she hoped that there would be a silver lining in which she could assist him, even if that meant looking after Kyori if she met her.
The angel just sat there quietly not forcing any information out of this stranger but just taking a few silent deep breaths.

Remi's body relaxed slightly as she moved her hand off of him, but his expression remained while he stared at her. As she went on her little spiel, he grew slightly annoyed by it, thinking that she talks too much. He was glad that she said she wouldn't pester him for the information, but that was all she really needed to say. It kind of bothered him that she had begun to talk about her past self and end off with being willing to listen.
He watched her still with that same expression even as she apologized. After she excused herself, Remi's eyes shifted away, facing the floor in front of the altar again as he thought about life in Veyyard and Kyori.
He glanced back at the woman who returned with a tea set and placed it between them as she sat next to him again. He heard to taking breaths and he glanced at the tea set again before letting out a quiet breath of air and facing away slightly. "I don't want tea." He said after a moment, in his smooth but cold voice.
He looked back over at her, his expression hadn't changed much except it somehow seemed a little less rigid. "Veyyard isn't exactly a vacation place. There may be a Cathedral here, but it's not in some place that's decent for just anyone to walk around in." He said, facing forward again during the second sentence.
"It's barely habitable at all." The slight glare on Remi's face tightened in at his eyebrows as he said this, before standing up and made his way towards the stained glass window by the side of the room. Remi began to grow a craving for a cigarette. Not ready to leave yet, however, he pulled a small packet out of his coat pocket and popped a small tablet into his mouth that he swallowed without water then put the pouch back.
As I thought... this place makes me feel uneasy... He thought to himself while glaring at the glass. He put a hand over his face and took a few slow, deep breaths, relaxing his face to a more stoic expression.

“I know. Out of all the countries in this domain Veyyard is really dangerous, but I am here because of the orphaned children, my family and my boyfriend. The people that I hold dear are many but if there is something that I can do to help I will do it. I said to myself when I start a family I will not raise my child in Veyyard,
I rather raise my child in a peaceful place like Sougen. There is crime all over the place but Veyyard has the highest crime rate. People die everyday because of crime. But I know that there are people counting on me here, and I know what I must do.”
She giggled a little bit once she felt that the man thought that she talks too much. She couldn’t read minds but she did have a feeling, because she has been told before that she does talk too much, and Zero had told her that when they first reunited a year ago.
Little did this young man know, Mitsuko was the adopted daughter of the bounty hunter chief Jean Cross, and the girlfriend of bounty hunter Zero.
On the opposite end Mitsuko didn’t know that the bounty hunters wanted this man. The problem was that the bounty hunters didn’t even have a face to match with the suspect that they were after, much less have information on him. Because of this Mitsuko just saw this man as a regular person, not a person that was wanted by her own adopted family.
The angel has been attacked before in Veyyard at the Iron Maw when this woman who by the name of love song, approached her in a threatening manner and attacked her, but even with that incident the angel still kept going. She looked at the man and decided to give him some time alone, and so she went to check on the little boy that she was nursing back to health.
When she entered the room the child was in he had awakened. She smiled down at him and pushed some of his hair back gently from his face, and checked to see if the fever had broken.
“How are you feeling?” I see the fever has finally broken.”
The angel took the boy’s tiny hands in hers as she sat down next to him.

“I am feeling so much better auntie Mitsuko, but while I slept I had a dream. A dream that a hero had entered the church. This hero in my dream was serious, but cool looking… and strong! Is there a hero in the church auntie Mitsuko?”
In reality the child had heard the young man’s voice as he was sleeping, and the way the young man had spoke to Mitsuko sounded cool. The child had gotten up from his bed, rubbed his eyes and peered through the doorway. There he saw a man by the stained glass with a serious expression. The boy turned to Mitsuko and said:
“That’s it! That guy! Can I go say hi to him? Please? He looks so awesome, not your average hero in comic books, but there is just something about him that makes me want to say hi. I’m going!”
With that said the child ran out and stood beside the young man and stared up at him.
“Are you a hero? I had a dream that you were one, so I thought I’d say hello to you. I’m a little sick though so I’ll just stay a little further away from you so you don’t get my flu. Auntie Mitsuko helped me you know. Want to know a secret? She’s an angel, she would never hurt anyone. How about you? Do you go on a lot of adventures?”

As soon as she saw the child run out to the young man she got kind of worried, she hoped the young man wasn’t mean to the child as children are very fragile with their feelings.
The angel walked out into view and watched the conversation that the child had started with the young man, while she picked up the tray that had the tea set on it. Children were full of imagination and just by hearing the young man’s voice as he slept he had automatically assumed that he was some sort of hero.
“I’m sorry he just insisted in speaking to you, he said that you were awesome by how you carry yourself.”
Mitsuko soon approached the two as she put the tea set away and crouched down to the child’s level.

Remi didn't face the girl as she spoke, keeping his eyes now towards the stained glass as he listened. He had to agree with the high crime rate in Veyyard, of course, because he was a part of it. He was one of those people who killed other people almost every day. Not all of them were bad people either. He had been sent out on missions to kill even just innocent kids from time to time who happened to stumble upon the dealings that occurred within his 'family'.
Having someone count on you... he thought for a moment, thinking about Kyori as he stared at the light passing through the stained glass. His thoughts then turned to the ones above him who count on him every day to follow their orders. Remi's eyes grew a little colder at that thought, not noticing right away that the other had already left the room.
It wasn't until he heard the chirp of a young boy's voice asking if he's a hero that he snapped out of his sort of trance. His eyes opened a bit more and he slowly turned his head to look back at this boy who rambled on about having a dream of him as a hero. His eyes grew colder again at that thought. Remi was nothing at all like a hero. He never helped others, only killed them.
Remi's expression then held a bit of skepticism at this boy claiming the girl, whom he now knows is called Mitsuko, was an angel. He stood silent for a moment as Mitsuko then intervened and commented on the boy's excitement. Remi stared at the two with his cold glance a moment longer before fully turning to face them and respond.
"Kid... I'm nothing even close to a hero... As for how I carry myself... You can't really survive for long in Veyyard if you aren't at least perceived as strong or capable." He finally said, his cold pale eyes staring emotionlessly down at the boy. "And I suppose you could say I go on... adventures... every day." He added, his eyes not wavering in the slightest and his posture tall and unyielding.
After another minute, Remi's eyes averted over to Mitsuko. An angel? He thought, then looked back towards the stained glass windows. Perhaps in her actions... he thought, being one to have never really believed in the existence of angels.

“So you aren’t a hero? But I thought that…. Oh Auntie Mitsuko is this what it feels like to have your dreams crushed I was certain that he was a hero. But at least he goes on adventures. full of danger and excitement right?"
The boy quickly ran and hugged Mitsuko who soon picked him up and held him.
“One day I’ll grow up to be strong, and I will survive.”
The little boy didn’t know what else to say but he did smile at the man, even though he was serious and probably wouldn’t be receptive towards the little boy’s smile. The little boy closed his eyes as Mitsuko held him since he was sick and he still had to take it easy.

Mitsuko smiled at the child and told him that he could be a hero himself if he wanted, but it’s not only what he does that makes him a hero, it’s how he lives. She carried him back into the room so that he could rest.
Once she came out of the room, she wasn’t sure what else to say to this young man, but she hoped that he would be able to find peace, even if he wasn’t the friendly type of guy she believed that everyone deserves some sort of peace within themselves.
“It was a pleasure to meet you sir, if I ever meet Kyori I’ll help in any way that I can okay? I know you didn’t ask for my help, but sometimes everyone need a little helping hand. I can also tell that you probably won’t tell me your name, but I will tell you mine. I am Mitsuko."
Despite this young man being cold and emotionless toward her Mitsuko was still herself. She didn’t know though that the young man was an adversary, the chances of them being friends the angel sensed were slim, and all she can do was wish him well.
“I also see that you are skeptical that I am an angel. I am one.
The angel closed her eyes and made her wings appear just to prove that she wasn’t lying.
“But I am also part human."

Staring with his cold eyes towards the stained glass windows, Remi didn't respond to the little boy. As Mitsuko carried him back into the other room, Remi muttered to himself, "Yeah... dangerous, alright..."
Remi glanced back at Mitsuko as she spoke to him again and offered to help Kyori should she meet her. When she told him, then, that she really was an angel and revealed her wings right before his eyes, Remi's eyes widened a bit and he turned fully to face her. He stared at her in slight surprise a moment longer before his eyes fell back to normal and appeared cold again, yet somehow a little less harsh.
"Kyori..." He began, "She's a little childish... but she's clever and capable. I'm sure if she were to find a friend in an angel, that should help her." He said, looking away with the last statement, feeling slightly embarrassed about admitting his feelings for Kyori even in an indirect manner such as this.
After a moment longer, he looked back at the angel before him and let out a quiet breath of air. "My name is Remi." He said, using his real name instead of his code name since it sounded like she was a Veyyard regular if not a local. Nobody in Veyyard aside from very close friends knew of his real name. The only name anyone else knew him by in Veyyard was Kagetsuki, sometimes Kage for short.

The angel was glad that they were making some headway in the lines of communication, and she listened to his every word. What she could make of his feelings toward Kyori if she wasn’t mistaken, was the fact that he cared for her deeply, and it sounded as if he wanted her to turn over a new leaf.
She was surprised when Remi finally introduced himself to her and she smiled at him.
“Okay I will make note of what you told me. This will help me understand what to expect as I get to know her. Thank you, for telling me..”
The angel was going to help Kyori once she meets and she hopes that she can touch her heart even if it’s in a small way. Mitsuko was a friend but also a sisterly figure to people.
That was how she lived her life helping as much people as she can, even at times where people can be very resistant, and a tough nut to crack. Based on what Remi had told her the angel got a sense that perhaps Kyori had a very free spirit, and was the type to do anything that she wanted.
“Is there anything else I should know? Or is that all you are willing to share for now? I don’t mind either way.”
She then closed her eyes and made her wings disappear so now, she looked like a regular human girl again.

"Yeah.." He simply said in response to her thanking him for telling her. He looked to the side again as he said so, feeling a little awkward about all of this. He didn't know a thing about this woman other than her being an angel who helps people. He looked back over at her with his cold ice blue eyes again just in time for her to ask him more.
He looked away again as he thought of what to tell her then finally spoke, still facing to the side. "She has... kind of orange hair... She's also very quick. Her speed might almost compete with mine." He said, not meaning to say the last part as the tiniest hint of a smirk hung at the corner of his lip then disappeared a moment after he realized that he just revealed one of his strong points unintentionally. He was merely going on about Kyori, the only thing in his mind that he considers to be a weak spot for him.
