“I’m taking you out today dad! You are always working day in and day out I get worried if you stress yourself out too much, so you are coming with me! Please? As a nurse and the fact that you are getting older, I truly don’t want you to get sick because of stress or worry.”
Mitsuko had been worried about Jean her adoptive father for the last couple of days, in reality however she was worried about everyone’s health at the headquarters, people were always working just to make sure the innocent people were safe, and mind you she understood completely of what it meant to be a bounty hunter, however she knew that they needed a better shift system so then that way those that needed time off can get it, and people would be able to fill in for each other.
The angel had planned this major event for her adoptive father to have fun in, and it was a cupcake war. Whoever makes the best cupcakes gets $1000 dollar gift certificate, and a lot of recognition of being a creative baker. While Jean was only known as the chief of bounty hunters,
Mitsuko sensed that there was another side to him, another side in which he hadn’t explored fully. She remembers the day in which Jean, her and Rose were baking cookies and even though Jean acted all goofy because of his crush on Rose, to her it seemed like he was also interested in baking.
You are never too old to learn something new, or to try something different. She thought that this event would help him explore his creative side, and add more fun into his life. Jean had looked so worn down—it was almost as if the life was sucked out of him, so to give him back that life and energy, she had set this whole thing up. She even went as far as putting an ad in the local newspapers to encourage people to come out, and just have fun. There were no age or experience limitations so anyone could join all they had to do was try their best, give it their all, and enjoy the day.
As they got closer to the Rio Nunez Café, Mitsuko went behind Jean and put her two hands over his eyes.
“No peeking! Hahaha okay now keep going straight. That’s it. A little to your left. Through the door and done! Ready to see what I planned? On the count of three. One, two, three!”
With that she removed her hands from his eyes and smiled.
“Welcome to Cupcake Wars!”
