Kari walked around Jia Yuan in the middle of the night, having heard rumours of some spirit frightening people in the area. Truthfully, she couldn't care less about the people being frightened and thought it somewhat amusing, but her orders were to check it out and reap the soul to the afterlife.
Kari sighed as she leaned against a fence and pulled out a pack of cigarettes, lighting it and inhaling the smoke. She exhaled slowly and closed her eyes. She could feel the familiar burning sensation but knew that it would not hold the exact same effects as it had when she was human.
As she brought the cigarette to her lips again, she suddenly saw a woman run past her in fright. Not caring for the woman, she inhaled on the cigarette anyway, seeing now a less physical appearance of a man pass her by. She slowly exhaled again and dropped the cigarette as she began to walk after the two before picking up into a run.
She eventually found the woman hiding in an alley between two housing structures and crying. She stared at the girl briefly before turning around and coming face to face with a grotesque appearance of a man. He had horrible burn wounds all over his face and body, rather deformed, yet with a slight twisted grin as he looked at Kari now.
"Although I rather enjoy a good scaring of humans," Kari began, "I have my orders to remove you." With that, her bow materialized into her left hand and suddenly chains were visible attached between her two hands. As she lifted the bow and reached for the string, an arrow made of her energy appeared.
She pulled it back and let the arrow fly right between the eyes of the grotesque spirit as it held a surprised look at her. With a small flash, the spirit was gone and her bow and chains disappeared from sight. She sighed as she lowered her arms and glanced back at the crying woman who now looked up at her and thanked her. Kari scoffed with a scowl and headed off down the street, caring nothing for the woman or her thanks.
