Jean sweatdropped. He was relieved that Kevin was gone, but now it caused a chain reaction. Now Mitsuko bolted after she read a simple piece of paper, he wondered what it said but he could already tell that it wasn't like her to leave the conversation without saying anything.
"Great so Kevin has gone on his mission.. Oh thank the heavens for that, and now.... Mitsuko has gone into hiding.. I can tell by the look on her face that something went wrong somewhere in the midst of our daily chaos. Who wants to play hide and go seek with the angel?"
Just as he said that he heard the clicking and the locking of the upstairs bedroom door. Jean put a hand over his face. He didn't want anyone to be in discomfort but there was not much he could do or say so he turned to Eve, Zero, and Hunter.
"Please check on Mitsuko for me. I feel something is wrong. I unfortunately don't have a spare key to unlock the door from the outside. If you want in then good luck in being convincing for Mitsuko to let you in. The look on her face says that she won't let anyone in."

Eve called out to Mitsuko as she ran. She too wondered what got her so spooked but by the look on her face and how it lost it's natural color. Mitsuko just became white as a ghost. It was as if she had lost a lot of blood from her body or something. Eve wanted the angel to face the problem but then again.. Perhaps it was too soon for her to face it.
She didn't know Mitsuko's background, so she couldn't force the angel to face the problem as much as she wanted to. What this bounty Hunter could do though was find a way to get into that bedroom which was located at the top of the stairs and talk to the angel to make her feel better.
Eve ran up the stairs and started knocking on the door.
"Miki.... I don't know what has got you spooked but, please don't hide up here. It won't solve anything. The only thing it will be accomplishing at this very moment is worry. If you don't come out then Zero, and I are coming in! Damn it where is that pin....?"
There was no response coming from Mitsuko as she was secluded in that room.
"No answer? Well desperate times call for desperate measures!"
She kept rummaging through her stuff until she found a sharp pin, and started to pick the lock with it. Eve had hoped that this would work and unlock the door easily though, she made a wrong move with the pin and it ended up bending.
"Damn it...."
Eve let out a sigh and then ran back downstairs to Zero and Hunter.
"We must find a way to get in Mitsuko's room! I don't want her to succumb to her panic attack that she passes out. I tried to pick the lock with my pin but it rendered itself useless. There is one other option..... WE camouflage ourselves and break the window. Are you guys in?"
The reason for the camouflage was so that the angel couldn't see the trio trying to get into her room. And with the angel's state of mind right now it was as if she was busy with her thoughts-- Tuning everything out besides what was in her mind.

"Uh...wait. Whut...just happened?" Presumably caught in the moment, Hunter was just able to stand there and waited for all those things that happened to seep into his brain. Or lack thereof.
First Miki suddenly bolted up from her chair in what seemed to be initial shock of her father's appearance in her life, then Eve running upstairs to do whatever she's planning to do, then finally the beauty returns after a while and suggesting they break a window.
"And your best idea to reach her is by going ninja?" That, was possibly the strangest question Hunter had ever heard himself said out loud. Hunter shook his head slowly and sighed, "That would scare her for a lifetime. And aren't windows friggin' expensive to buy nowadays? I don't want-- ..H-hey, Zero, where you going?!"

Her father. Zero's eyes blackens entirely at the remembrance of meeting that conniving old man, his thought process blocked EVERYTHING that happens in real-time, and he was caught in a whirlpool of confusion, anger and then hatred.
'That BASTARD..'
By the time he snaps back awake, Miki isn't on the chair anymore. He looks around for her, and then noticed Eve coming down the stairs, going on about her useless pin when she tried opening the door the angel had locked herself in.
Zero didn't have the patience to stay to hear of her window-breaking scheme, and he stomped away before Eve even gets the chance to finish her idea. With every step upstairs, he remembered that annoying smirk that old man kept beaming with, and how he mind-raped Zero with such confusing lies and tricks, its sickening.
"MIKI!" Zero arrives at the door by just using his instincts, no directions needed, he just know the angel is in there. "Miki, I don't take CRAP to what your bastard of a father is planning, but isolating yourself and handling it alone AIN'T THE SOLUTION!"
No response. 'Fack it. That's it.'
Bring out his gun, Zero pointed right at the edge of the door's knob where the mechanics of the locking system is and deftly shoots at it. He was so angry, he doesn't even care anymore of how loud the noise it emitted, and after that's done, used his wrath to kick the door down.
It really did fell down. Even the hinges are broken. Because when Zero's mad, he's mad.
Miki," he began infuriatingly, but not towards her, just the memory of that idiot Kouji is pissing him off. Zero made his way near her, his hands in tight fists, and then stood there in front of her with an especially deep frown on his face.
'I don't care what the SHIT is happening, but just TALK TO ME!' is what he intended to say, but the sight of her looking so broken and frightened like this made Zero twitched.
Without a second thought, the bounty hunter approached her slowly, and traps her in a hug. Embracing her in his arms is the only way he knows what to do in that situation, because whenever he's troubled and she hugged him, it always makes him feel better. So, perhaps doing the same to her might make her snap out of it.
"You're not alone, dammit.. I can help you..." Zero whispered, still very angry, but managed to choke that out in a gentle tone.

He was her safety net. the bond between Zero and Mitsuko was especially powerful so it shouldn't be much of a surprise to anyone that he had just broke down their bedroom door, in accordance to get to Mitsuko. Her mind was wondering all over the place, that she couldn't gather her thoughts properly. She really didn't mean to shut anyone out for the moment, she just acted on that fear that was instilled in her, once she read that creepy fortune.
What if Kouji did something in in -excusable when he did see Mitsuko? She was scared that her father would overcome her power and she felt like she was falling off an invisible cliff with no end. She would just keep falling and falling without someone there to catch her. In the midst of all these scary thoughts going through her mind she felt Zero's hug. And in an instant it snapped her back to reality.
She slowly wrapped her arms around him and returned that embrace. Since that hug snapped her out of her thoughts, that invisible cliff that she fell off of in her mind, there was an end.
Someone did catch her. Zero did.
The angel should know better then to allow her thoughts consume her heart and her mind. But thanks to Zero it made her remember that she did have help, she did have a sword and shield. She had a person that truly was her best friend. It was natural for Zero to have that special role in her life. No one could ever replace him.
She smiled and looked at his blue eyes. As she looked at them she saw that they were concerned for her well being but at the same time they had the same gentleness that she had always known and only her at the moment could see that gentleness since she knew Zero for 10 years, but their friend anniversary was coming up which would mark 11 years since they have been best friends/twin souls.
"Zero. Help me."
She smiled as she said those words.
"I'm not asking you to fight my battles literally but I just need support. We are one."

Jean's eyes widened as he saw the door fall flat like a pancake. It was expensive to replace certain things in HQ considering all the money they make is split between having to contribute to HQ and to keep it running while the other half goes toward the bounty hunters themselves for their services.
The middle aged man looked at the two best friends interact with each other. He was happy to see Zero caring for another person, especially a person that impacted his life very much ever since he was a little kid. And to top that off they were officially partners in the art of bounty hunting. Jean knew he made the wise decision in listening to Madame May suggestion in getting Mitsuko to join and help out.
What better person for Zero to work with than his own best friend. Mitsuko promised that she wouldn't be a burden to either Hunter or Zero.
"SO what's this about a friend anniversary, do friends even have such things?"

"Er well... It's a pretty uncommon thing for friends to do. I mean I haven't seen many celebrations in marking a certain number of years of friendship. But this is a big deal to Mitsuko and Zero since they knew each other since they were children."
Eve chimed in.
"I mean just look at them. You can tell that Zero and Mitsuko have a very special friendship, no one can top that. Sure I know that Zero will meet new people and form many friendships since that is what Mitsuko would like him to do, but what's between them, and them alone is something that can't be explained. Their time together is their happy place. I can tell that much. IF Zero gets involved with someone romantically he won't ever forget what Miki has done for him."
"As a matter of fact I found this piece of paper on the ground haha!. And it's in Mitsuko's hand writing."
Eve went over to Mitsuko and Zero and put herself between them handing Mitsuko her lone peice of paper in which was found by Eve.
"Go ahead Mitsuko. The floor is yours."

"! That paper.... it's my... actually Eve I want to wait till our friend anniversary to read it to Zero... hahaha I don't want to read it right now. I-I mean isn't it time I started to train with Hunter? I have kept him waiting for like ever. I'm sorry Hunter. We got side tracked with the fortune cookie."
She giggled but she turned her peachy colour too.
"And besides Eve I am a mood setter not a mood destroyer. ^_^ our friend anniversary is the right time for me to read what's on that paper. But for me to read it right now is not a good time."
She hugged Zero again and touched his cheek.
"I'm okay now."

It actually scares him to see her so panicked like this. Since he was small, he always sees Miki as a gentle yet strong flower. He believes that she has great control of her emotions, nothing can shake her. But it seems like Zero has forgotten that Miki's still half a human inside, meaning she can lose control once in a while.
As he felt that his embrace was returned, and pulled her out of whatever spiral she's trapped in, Zero heaved off a quiet sigh of relief. He can't blame her though, since he has met her father, though he haven't specifically told her that yet. Who wouldn't be internally insane with a father THAT manipulative?
"Yeah, I got you.." he replied to her call of help, "I'm here now, you found me, remember? I'm here, so I'll help.." He released her after a while, just glad that she's back to normal. He made a mental note to himself too that whenever Miki's in that phase again, he'll launch an immediate hug.
As he's busy plotting in his head how to get even with that bastard for traumatizing his Miki like this, his thought process was interrupted by Eve, who pushed him a bit away to give his best friend a piece of paper.
Zero was like a confused little boy in the middle of two grown-up women discussing a matter he haven't caught notice yet. But since this is Zero, he can at least put the clues of their discussion together and conclude a guess or two.
He was in his thinking pose for just a short while when he was suddenly attacked by a hug from Miki, and as a bonus, has his cheek against the angel too. Zero immediately froze, and coughed to hide his laugh. He enjoys that, but there's no way he'll let others know that.
"G-good. Now don't ever freak us out again."

"ZERO!! THIS IS-- WAS, OUR DOOR!!!" While everyone's inside enjoying the beautiful view of the two friends there, Hunter's outside pointing at the fallen door, "Great, now we have no door."
He huffed and stalked inside with a frown and a pout. On his way, he gave Jean a look that specifically for a quick fix and at the same time, apologizing. How many times have Zero broke the furnitures and walls and staircases anyway? Hunter had lost count, and he didn't bother to for the sake of his math skills.
His ears perked up at the mentioning of his name, so he turned to Miki who called him. "Huh? Oh! Oh, right, training, um.." The older bounty hunter had settled his hand at the back of his head while scratching his hair, "Well, Miki, I know you're eager to start and all, but I can only train you when your mind is perfectly clear. ..With you running off like that, I'm kinda worried, so take your time to settle yourself with peace, or better yet, settle that problem itself. THEN we talk training."
The tall man then made his way to the window there and leaned beside it, his face glancing to the side so he can take a look outside as he relaxed. Sure, he's trained a few new recruits before, but the way he trains is similar to a mirror.
If they're lazy, then he's lazy. If they're loud, then he's loud. If they're stuck-up, then he's trying his best to be MORE stuck-up. But then if his student have problems, then Hunter will definitely have problems too.
'So you have family problems, eh..?' He looks at Miki from the distance, then at Zero next. 'Boy, you better know what to do.'

"You got it. Now can you do me a favor once in a while? please with sugar on top? Please control that temper of yours okay? I understand that you are being true to your feelings and that makes me so proud but.... There are times I wish you wouldn't lose it. I will still come to you as always but.... please... don't explode when I share some things with you in regards to my dad. I'll tell you everything you want to know, perhaps over some tea and cookies? I think talking about it will make me feel even more better."
"Though Zero.... Thank you so much for having my back. In my mind I fell off a cliff and I was falling and falling to no end. But when you hugged me, I was pulled out of that cliff, since you caught me and stopped me from falling. I want you to know that I do need you even when I feel like.... shutting myself off since there are things that are too much for me to bear. I am so glad you are with me."
"And Hunter I am eager to be your student. Thank you for being so understanding."
She went over to Hunter and hugged him.

"OY my pocket book is going to be crying for a long while now. But I will always be proud of Zero of going to his best friend's aid. It shows all of us that there is more to him than just bounty hunting. He actually really cares for that girl. She's the light of his life so to speak, so in this case I don't mind covering the costs for the door, I just hope you don't mind sleeping in the room with a wide open space where the door used to be."
"Mitsuko will be bunking with you guys since Eve already has her room full with her members. I know she is safe with you guys, and we have an extra cot that she can use, so she has her own personal space. And you boys yours."

"ARE you sure you want to do this Jean? I mean what if HUNTER tries to cuddle Miki or something. She's so tiny and he's so huge and has a fondness for Miki. I observe these things you know. Though she changes in my room got it? She is not going to be dressing in their room since well they are guys. So Miki let's move in your clothing in the spare drawer that I have."
Eve than grabbed the angel's hand and dragged herself into eve's room and showed Miki where she would be putting her personal belongings.
"Your clothes will be safe here. I promise."

Being told to keep his anger in check isn't really a surprise for Zero. He's been through this same speech for over a thousand times ever since he stepped in this very headquarters 10 years ago. But then again, when listening those words from his best friend is a different matter entirely.
"F....F-fine.." He actually complied. His answer shocked the whole group of bounty hunters present. Zero never listens, apparently, so this is a first. "N-not saying I will immediately! But I'll try...I guess..."
This is not just some random matter after all, this is regarding her father. He was sure by that brief encounter with that idiot, Miki's in the right track for warning Zero of his explosive anger. "Yes, yes, I understand. But don't just talk about everything I WANT to know, you have to cover everything I NEED to know too."
He smiled a bit, knowing that she needed him just as much as he needed her. "Well guess what, even if you don't need me, I'll be with you anyway to cover for the missing 10-year gap, so you can't get rid of me."
Just after he's done speaking, Miki focused on Hunter. With only that gesture, Zero's jealousy easily returns, and he's back to normal.
"HEY! No touching Miki for more than 2 seconds!!"
He then heard the chief crying out of his money problem. "I'm...sorry about that, Chief.." Zero scratched the back of his neck, he sure has a lot of debt with the chief... Though, that's one of the reasons why he worked so hard to accomplish as much bounties and missions as he can, so he can pay back all the things he broke.
"Miki can sleep on my bed! I'll use the cot.." Because Zero knows fairly well the cots available aren't as comfortable as his bed, so he thought he'd offer the best for Miki. He also reminded himself to give Miki a baseball bat, so if Hunter tries anything funny in the middle of the night, she can bash him senseless.
Then Eve spoke of Miki changing in her room, right on cue of Zero's Hunter's-a-pervert thought. "OH! I AGREE WITH EVE!" Zero raises his hand up, like a schoolboy about to answer a teacher's question. "I was also about to suggest that. Thanks, Eve!"

Hunter laughed. 'It's not of being understanding rather than completely selfish, actually..' He sweatdropped at his thought, but then smiled when Miki hugged him. "Eh.. I..really don't think I deserve this, but.. WELL! Can't pass off this chance now, can I?" And off he goes squeezing Miki in his arms. Perhaps the scent of her shampoo drove him to do that.
But then Eve just has to ruin the moment by pulling the angel with her. "Aww~! C'mon, don't you guys just trust me at least a LITTLE bit?" No one responded. Hunter sighed.
