The prince wasn't sure what was happening but he felt all the pain that he has been feeling for a long time come to light literally. The light engulfed him and started to hug his soul tightly, letting him know that there was a catch to this gift that Mitsuko had given him.
The catch was if he learned to walk in the path of goodness and rule his kingdom with glory, love and pride then his future will not only be brought to fruition for him for his people as well.
This is what Mitsuko meant by compassion.
He let out screams of anguish, and then pretty soon his soul was freed. He was going to learn the error of his ways, and if he learned something from Mitsuko then he would be given the second chance as promised, but if not then he will just have to stay stuck in oblivion.

Mitsuko looked at how the prince's body was engulfed in light, and his screams of anguish had echoed in her ears, but she knew that he was being freed so she didn't feel bad about it. The light that the prince was bathed in turned into pearls of light as it floated up into the sky with the prince in it.
She smiled, and she had her serene composure as she landed right in front of Zero. She looked at him straight in his eyes. She remained quiet for a few minutes as she connected with him instantly, then she spoke with her sweet, soft spoken voice.
The wind blew a little, but it wasn't one of those devastating winds, it was gentle, calm, and serene. It was if the heavens, were blessing both Mitsuko and Zero for finding each other. Their best friend of all time.
"Hello Zero."

Finished with his part of the extermination, Zero had turned around to check on Mitsuko, just in time to see her initiating her special attack. The bounty hunter was chained there on the ground, his blue eyes widening as Mitsuko literally glows in mid-air likes that.
Zero pulled an arm up to cover his eyes from being blinded, and he squinted his eyes closed too when the prince began to glow as well. What attracted Zero's attention to try and open his eyes is the prince's scream, to see what exactly did the angel did to the royal brat, but his eyes still haven't adjusted with the luminance, so he just kept closing his eyes until the scream's gone.
Once everything quietens down, Zero lets his arm fall as his eyelids fluttered to open. He has to take a few moments to adapt his eyes, but once he can see her clearly again, he stared at her for a long while. 'Does she...really knows me? Perhaps she's just protecting a mere innocent.. Argh, is it even a good idea to tell her who I am? My job isn't the most noble in the world and she's an angel, would she--'
His thoughts were halted and casted off of his head when Mitsuko spoke up. She greeted him, she even used that same tone from when he first gained consciousness and saw her bright blue eyes. When Zero was 8, seeing that gentle look greeting him when he wakes up, literally made the little boy burst into tears. He has never seen anyone smiling at him before, and the sight made him think that he died and went to heaven.
Now, ten years later, when Zero is 18, his reaction to her greeting is much more controlled. His eyes didn't well up like before, but it did widened. He didn't engulf himself with his emotions like before, but the lad just stood there, staring at her, asking himself if this is really happening.
After a moment, he stepped away from the circle of unconscious bodies lying around him, towards the angel, his eyes not fazing away from her. He only stopped when he's about two or three feet away from her, and he could see that she's much smaller than he remembered.
He's grown taller, he figured, probably around 5 inches or so. His eyes are still focused towards her, bits and pieces of his memories clouded his mind in an instant. Everything; bubbles, catterpillars, butterflies. It flashes so quickly in his eyes, he almost broke his controlled defenses, just by remembering his childhood spent with this young woman in front of him.
Zero gave in after a while, completely letting his defenses fall temporarily, closes his eyes, and simply leaned over to rest his forehead against Mitsuko's shoulder. He didn't hug her, he didn't cry in front of her, Zero chose to do because he knows; Mitsuko's shoulder is the best place of comfort for him. He stayed like that, breathing in and out calmly, and smiled.
He still remembered the numerous times when they both played hide and seek, and how awful he is at seeking. Though, Mitsuko had made that game considerably fun by going easy with him and hiding in places where he could find her without any major problems. Zero always loved saying this one line when he finally found her, and he knows that he still love this line the most especially in this very moment.
"I found you.....Miki.."

Mitsuko's emotions didn't change however. Considering that she is a young lady with a sensitive heart as soon as she felt his forehead against her shoulder, she gently wrapped her arms around him, her eyes closed, tears falling from them, but not tears of sadness more so of happiness. Who could blame her for being such a big baby? First she was crying out of anguish and sadness when she was with her friends, and remembering Zero, however now-- at this very moment she was so happy.
Her memories of what they did together as children flooded her head.. And for the first time in a long time, she felt like she found the other half of herself. Which was her best friend. She admits that this feeling with being reunited with the one you care about, is overwhelming however it was beautiful all at the same time.
"We both found each other Zero... When I looked at you for those few seconds earlier I knew it was you. I just couldn't say your name right away since it wasn't the right moment, until now. And at first I bet you were wondering if I just knew your name because of your bounty hunter title, though here is another symbol of proof I am who I say I am"
She gently looked at him in the eyes, when she pulled up his head to look at her. "I met you when you were 8 years old, almost half dead... I took care of you, I sang to you, I nursed you back to health. As we became closer I gave you the other half of my friendship ring see? I have one."

If it wasn't for his dignity constraining him to keep strong, then Zero's tears would've stream down like a waterfall. By how her shoulders are jerking slightly, it's clear as day to detect that Mitsuko's crying. The lad just stayed like that, being embraced by her, glad of the familiar warmth.
There are no words of how to describe how he felt right now. It's probably in between exhilaration and relief...completion, perhaps. It's very hard for him to conceal a smile right now, or a laugh, or a hug. He's grown into a man now, there are some things he can't do as before, and the fact just frustrates him.
Her velvety voice calms him by a lot, just by hearing her voice again does wonders for his soul. And he haven't even focused to what she's saying yet, too. Then, Mitsuko pulled his head up, their blue eyes facing each other.
Zero stayed silent after she finished speaking, and let out a singular chuckle, "You still talk too much.." he intended that to tease the angel, but it sounded as if he's stating a fact. He slowly turns his attention to the ring she's showing him. At the familiar sight, he began to chuckle relentlessly.
"Silly, of course I know you're you. You don't need to show me that," he stopped laughing, settling a grin. Though, that light-heartedness didn't last long when his smile faltered into a frown, remembering his half of the deal.
"But..how could you tell I'm me? I lost my ring..." he whispered as a response slowly, then darted his eyes back towards her eyes. "But I'll find it," there's a certain flame in his voice as he spoke that, as if he knows exactly where to hunt it, and he's going to do so soon. "I've found you, my personal bounty.." He looked at her face, wiping her tears with his thumbs as he cupped her face gently, "..So I know I'm going to find back that ring soon... I'm so sorry I have no proof, Miki.."

Mitsuko's cheeks turned a light peachy/pinkish colour and she smiled. "Yes I still talk a lot huh? Haha! Well get used to it, since you'll be hearing my voice more often now since you found me."
She felt Zero's warmth of his bond with her and it was incredible. As the angel told her friend Zeph the other day, these feelings that she was experiencing was not ones that could be easily explained unless you have a special bond yourself from child hood. Mitsuko was so glad to have Zero back into her life again, instead of just memories of him.
To be honest within the last few weeks she has been having such a hard time coping with the fact that she was without her best friend. Sure she had friends and she loved them dearly, however with a child hood friendship it is somewhat different, since they are with you when you are just a child, and it is such an innocent world, that children embrace.
This is the most Mitsuko has ever cried, but she has reason. The reason was she missed Zero... God she missed him, she needed him back. And to top that off she missed her brother Jake too, so everything that she was going through was a combination of everything. Zero didn't know any of her brothers but chances are he would meet Jake soon. Very soon. Would he ever meet Kankorou? It is highly unlikely since he is a dragon rider seeing the world. Kankorou had to go after his dreams and he couldn't stay with Mitsuko.
For right now however she was blessed that she was with Zero finally after all this time. She kept looking into his eyes and she heard his explanation of the ring.
Then after he completed his explanation she then told him why she could tell it's him. Thanks to Zeph's quick lesson the other day.
"The reason why I could tell it was you, is because of how connected our souls are. My friend Zeph read this book that said that if a bond is strong enough then we could tell who we are by just one look. Usually the souls of another person are the ones like a mother and a child which are connected to each other naturally... but to us... especially to us is a rare occurrence, considering we only knew each other for a month. That is what makes our bond so special. My friend Zeph also mentioned that perhaps we were fated to meet."
"Our souls affect each other deeply.. Haven't you noticed?"
"As for your ring can I correct you on something? You said You'll find it... however let's change that to WE'LL find it. I am going to come with you, for us to be apart will be so brutal. Especially if you leave me out on this adventure."
She put her hands over his that are cupping her face. "You don't have to apologize, I know you didn't lose it on purpose.."
She was also glad that he was so gentle with his touch. Not only did that make her smile, but it also showed her that she did a good job while she was taking care of him
Though her tears of joy kept streaming down each time he wiped them away with his thumb. She apologized that she couldn't go easy with her tears, but she was sure that Zero would understand why.

Zero sighed while shaking his head sideways. "And you're still such a peach-face too," now it sounded like he's teasing her instead of just stating out a random fact.
He could only smile at her, besides wiping her tears. Honestly saying, Zero has no idea what to do. He hasn't encountered many crying girls in his life...well, he has avoided girls most of his life since he's so busy training himself to get stronger. So now that there's a lady crying in front of him, he knows zip of what to do...except to just be honest about it.
"Now now...come on, stop crying.. I don't know how to react to this," he kept wiping her tears away with his thumbs, awkwardly. It's a good thing Mitsuko changed the topic about this Zeph person, and Zero could only blink at her words.
"Wait, so basically what he's saying is...you're like my mother?" he asked earnestly, and then broke into a chuckle. "I haven't felt what it's like to have a mother, but having you in my life, is inspiring enough." He doesn't understand what she meant by connected souls, or fate. Things that he can't see with his own eyes confuses him, but he is aware of what he's feeling, and that's enough clue for him to consider Mitsuko as his family figure. She's the only one he has, after all.
He sighed with a tired smile when she mentions about his ring problem, and insists that she'll help him to find it. "Great. I don't have to force you to come along then," the way he said things could be easily mistaken as egoistic, but it's far from true. The thing about Zero is he has troubles expressing things, and people often misunderstood what he really meant. Good thing Mitsuko can see right through that little problem of his.

Mitsuko doesn't ask much from Zero, especially since he has trouble expressing the way he feels. The angel didn't blame him at all, after all he's been through, and she doesn't take it to heart because she knows how he feels, even if he doesn't show it.
Besides her brother Jake is the exact same way when it comes to expressing his feelings, he can't really show them properly, so you could say that Mitsuko is used to people like that. When they do show their feelings however, it does mean the world to her.
She soon calmed herself, hugged him once more and then let go slowly. "Look at you... You're so tall! haha finally you are taller then me now!" She was so happy to have him back that her happiness had shown so greatly.
She soon closed her eyes with a smile on her face then looked at him again once she opened her eyes again.
"Let's make a promise right now, okay? A promise that we won't ever lose each other again. And that we will always be there for each other no matter what. I missed you so much ^_^!"
With the promise made she pinky sweared him, and nuzzled her cheek with his just to see his smile again, She knows that Zero doesn't smile much however the nuzzling helped ever since they were kids.
"You know it hasn't been easy without you." She soon started to walk with him as she began talking. "I lost my memory a few years after you disappeared... It... was my fault... I had just grown into my wings and I was just starting to fly, however I lost control and fell... After that fall I forgot everything... Until recently...."
She began to explain how she forgot about Zero, however due to certain memories she remembered him in an instant. She also made it clear that even though her mind forgot about him for a while, her heart never did, because she cared for him deeply as if he was her own family.
There was one line that she wanted to say before he disappeared but she decided to keep quiet about it until she gives him, a special present. A present that she has been working on a little bit over the years but never told any one. Not even to her brothers Jake and Kankorou.
One of the reasons why she didn't tell her brothers once she got reunited with them in Summers Eve, her family's temple is because she knew that they would take it the wrong way. Kankorou would tease her and say that she has a boyfriend, and Jake... Well he doesn't express himself too often, since he is a hot head, and over protective of his baby sister, he would most likely become suspicious of a man in her life.
Even if that young man is her best friend. The angel could see Jake taking the friendship the wrong way, and thinking that they are something more when their not. Because she IS his baby sister and very protective of her:
She imagined what Jake would most likely say and those words rang out in her mind.
"Michi, whose this guy?! How long have you known him? You know you should wait to date.."

Zero let out a small smile when she attacked him with another hug, and he has to admit, he missed that. "Yes, FINALLY taller than you. I'm very happy of my hormones now." And to think he hates how he has to go through that phase before.
The lad just stared at her with that same unconscious smile when Mitsuko took a moment to close her eyes. He's not the only one who's grown up here, she has too. The angel did certainly grow, the graceful features of her face indicated that she has matured to be quite a beautiful young lady. Still, that gentleness is still there, and Zero's immensely glad that it's still the same as he remembered her by.
He was so lost in his thoughts, the bounty hunter was caught off-guard when Mitsuko suddenly snapped open her eyes. "P-promise..?" He stammered, still regaining his composure as he looked down to see the angel had extended her pinky finger. His eyes brightened, and he immediately locked his own finger with hers. Then, pinky swore, "Yeah. Promise."
Zero was then yet again caught off-guard when Mitsuko leaned onto him to cuddle and nuzzled her cheek against his. "Miki!!" He yelled out in surprise, but there's no mistaking that widening grin on his face. "S-stop that, I'm 18 now! This is embarrassing..!" Still, he didn't pry her off, but waited till she's finished.
Once the craziness has ceased, Zero followed beside Mitsuko when she began walking. His eyes darted towards his sister-figure when she spoke of the years he missed being with her. Her tale surprised him, but he didn't showed it on his face, yet his response might just did, "You suffered...amnesia..? But how did you..remember me..?"
It sort of hurt him a bit to know that he was forgotten in the course of his absence for a while. Still, there was an air of relief lingering on his facial features when the angel explained further that he never was forgotten, heart-wise. It certainly lessens the crease of his eyebrows.
"Well, it hasn't been easy for me without you either," he shrugged his shoulder, the belt-like strap on his shoulder that holds the weight of his rifle slipped a bit, but then Zero adjusted it back firmly on his shoulder. "I mean, bad luck after bad luck just kept raining down on me without ever stopping. ..And there's no one I can confide in, so it just kills me a little every time.. Here, look at this."
Zero motioned towards the thick red clothes that was fastened around his right arm. "The kidnapper shot me right over here. He didn't even pulled the bullet out, and tied these over my wound. Then he kicked me in Arthera for a week to see if I can survive." There was a surprisingly prideful tone in his voice, instead of melancholic. "I did survived. ...Actually, I think I survived because I kept imagining that you're with me, guiding me, supporting me. It's like hallucination, but...it feels as if I was...protected by you."
Perhaps his bond with Mitsuko was so strong, it kept him going far more than what he initially expected of himself. There certainly are countless times when he's bleeding his life out and thought that he would die, since he was shot and injured more than once every week, but the idea of hallucinating Mitsuko kneeling beside him and tell him to stand up is what makes him keep going to this very day. This very day when he's finally together with the source of his life-support.
"You saved me, Miki..." He looked at her with a soft grateful expression, "I don't know how you did it, but you did. ..Thank you so much."

The angel carefully listened to his his story, her eyes drifting to where he was physically hurt as she listened, but her facial expression was soft, and caring as usual. She felt bad that she wasn't with him physically to hold his hand, and to comfort him with her songs however when he said that he survived because of the feeling that he was protected by her she smiled.
"You're right. Even though you were just imagining me, and even though my mind forgot you for a time.... I did protect you, my heart did, my spirit did. All because of the way we bonded. I would never ever allow anything bad happen to you, and you know that. If I was there physically with you, I'd heal your wounds... Take away your pain and suffering. You don't deserve pain Zero, you deserve everything that is good."
"I'm sorry you went through all of that, however I am glad that you remained strong and made it. Because of that look where you are right now. And look whose beside you."
"I'm not just glad. I am so proud of you."
"You don't have to thank me I did it because you are so important to me. You are my family, just like my brothers are, in fact I should thank you Zero, for just being in my life."
She looked at him with the same gentleness in her eyes and touched his cheek, just like she did when he was 8 years old. "And I'll always be here for you to confide in, your secrets are always safe with me, as well as things that bother you." She assured him.
Soon afterward Mitsuko began the other part of her story.
"With the amnesia yes, I did forget you but as to how I remembered you was by my own heart."
"After the amnesia I ended up going to a school on the other side of this domain. I learned many things, met many people, and even... fell in love. He was a ninja at the academy and he was a a tough shell to crack... However I managed to get to know him, and we bonded too.
We had a great two years together, and I loved him a lot. But... He ended up disappearing and it is easy and safe to say that we broke up. I.. can't put my life on hold on for someone romantically.. especially since we couldn't nurture it in a long distance relationship, and I didn't know where I stood. It was better for me to move on. I had to go on. And I had to heal."
I shortly got a letter from my family's temple and I had to go and run it. While I was there I fell in love again.Yuuki was wonderful. But then he disappeared too."
She paused and sat down on the ground underneath a tree.
"With my grief I ended up getting very sick.... and passing away. Though it wasn't my time and I got a second chance at life. So now recently I have been promising myself not to get involved with anyone romantically. I'll still show my love and support to those that are in my life however.... It is better for me not to go into a relationship right now. If it happens great, if it doesn't well that's okay."

Zero stared at her, nobody in his entire life had offered to take all his pain away, to heal his wounds. Just hearing Mitsuko's voice saying that moved him, and the only reaction on his face that can give a hint it affected him by a whole lot, is how positively clear his eyes are. There's no doubts hovering in them anymore, no more reminiscing every pain he experienced, since now there's someone holding down her hand to help him up. Again.
'I have an angel...watching over me.. LITERALLY.'
He almost laughed at his own thought, never in his life that he could see it so clearly. Every unfortunate event that ever befalls on him whether then or in the future are nothing compared to the only lucky circumstance that was granted to him by fate; meeting Mitsuko. In fact, he feels that one blessing is enough to counter all the other infinite mishaps.
Zero turned to Mitsuko, now with a renewed spirit after that rather deep reflection, even his smile seems to be a lot more lighter. "No, no, don't be sorry that I went through all that. Really, I'm especially grateful I went through all those. Because with those, it lead me right towards you, Mitsuko."
If he was 8 right now, he wanted to lunge an innocent hug towards the angel. He wished time would turn back right now, so he could do just that without feeling embarrassed about it. "Well, if I can't thank you for what you did because I'm important to you, then that also means you can't thank ME for what I did because you are important to me, Miki." Zero can't help but to smirk at the swerve ball he just delivered back to Mitsuko. He likes twisting words like this, he does it a lot to the other hunters, so he never really lose an argument.
Just as he was starting to feel proud of himself, a gentle hand touched his cheek. It startled him, but he's motionless, as stiff as a slab of wall. His eyes are set to hers, "I...I'll keep that in mind.." He was honestly still surprised of this familiar touch, it brought him memories, and Zero was temporarily stunned by it to react much.
Then, once his face was freed, he silently listened to her part of the tale. His focus was distraught a bit when he heard that she fell in love, his eyes sharpened quickly after that to hear the rest of her story, but now with a frown on his face. He hoped this ninja guy didn't--
...He did. He left her. 'Is she hurt?' he mentally asked himself, eying Mitsuko's every move as she tell her tale, to pick up any hidden messages that she might still be hurting. By the tone of her voice, and how she pauses her sentence lit the light. He was just about to blow his fuse about this man, when the angel saved him from exploding with only one word: heal.
And even at her family's temple, she's broken again. Zero's eyes twitched.
That's when the ultimate finale hit was made, when the angel told him that the grief made her so sick...she actually died. It took all of Zero's might to keep himself still and still looked very calm, though his tightly clenched fists and twitching eyebrows did gave a clue.
Once Mitsuko's done speaking, the bounty hunter only stare down at her. She looked so peaceful and calm sitting under the old tree, even after telling out her painful stories. 'She friggin DIED, for heaven's sake!! DIED!' The thought of it imbalanced him, and for a moment, Zero took a breathing, and said with the most decent tone he could manage, "Please excuse me, I'll be right back."
After that, he stalked off into an area with a number of trees around, worth to call a light forest of sorts, then broke into a run inside the woods. His eyes wildly searching for a target. There's a lone tree in the middle of a slightly empty area, perfect to channel out all this rage he's bottling up minutes ago.
In a rush, Zero slips off his rifle from his shoulder and sets it on the ground, but before the weapon even touched the earth, Zero's already let out an angry yell and puts all his weight into punching that lone tree strongly. Small pieces of bark ripped off from the tree when Zero removed his fist.
He replayed what Mitsuko had told him again, and that sets his eyes in a fire as he delivered another punch to the tree. His rage is still in its decent level actually, since he's not wildly beating the tree up, and just deliver one punch per minute.
Zero kept doing that continuously, punch the tree, thought about Mitsuko, thought about the idiots who pained Mitsuko, then punched the tree again. He stopped at his 7th punch, when he recalled that she died... 'BECAUSE of the fools who made her GRIEF!'
"DAMN IT!!!" Delivering his 8th punch, Zero finally got his head back. He catches his breath, eyes on the ground as he tries to clear his mind from all these angst and just focused on regaining back his composure..

Mitsuko looked at Zero and she saw that he was angry at everything that she told him. She got the feeling that he would explode, however she clearly saw that he was trying not to explode in front of her because he respected her. She felt that. But once she went on with her story and explained to Zero everything that happened so far it was shown that he couldn't hold it in anymore, that he excused himself and left for a bit, before she could say anything else.
Zero's reaction didn't surprise her or scared her the angel understood Zero's feelings, because of their connection. she actually felt relived that Zero was one of the people that treasured her so much, that he doesn't take crap from those that hurts his best friend. Mitsuko felt what Zero was feeling and she gave him time to relax, and compose himself before he returned.
The thing about the angel is that she had no secrets in her heart between her and Zero. They had a really open communication and because of that she wouldn't be able to hide anything that is serious from him. He would most likely be able to fish it out of her, and get her to talk.
Since she got reunited with Zero her heart was already starting to feel better. She had just recently started to spill out what was in her heart as soon as Zero was there with her. Mitsuko was thankful for this bond and she wouldn't trade that connection away for anything.
As she sat under the tree she remembered all the memories of her and Zero. She saw the images so vividly in her head--- One memory in particular was when the angel was there reading fairy tales to Zero. Even though he couldn't read himself he would look at the pictures. That was one way they communicated. Through pictures.
Every morning that he woke up there would be a piece of paper that had a picture on it-- If breakfast was ready for him she would leave a piece of paper that had a breakfast food on it, and then he would know it was breakfast time. Of course she talked to him, and had conversations with him, but to get his mind working, she would be artistic and express herself through those pictures.
Some people might see it to be childish but it wasn't. It was just a cute way for Zero to see the good side to life. And when it was time for bed she would draw a moon, stars, and a teddy bear holding a heart that just said 'I love you and see you in the morning.' She would say it to him but the 8 year old would already be sleeping.
The angel smiled at all of the good times that she and Zero had and it warmed up her heart even more.
The angel then decided to live one of their childhood memories. Right here, right now. While Zero was gone composing himself she decided to play a game of hide and go seek. She climbed up in the tree and just peeked out, silently waiting with a smile. She tried hard not to giggle though.

Zero picked back up his rifle gun after he's done letting it out onto the poor tree. The bark around the tree had cracked and fallen off due to his punches, but at least it didn't fall off. That's the only reason Zero picked that tree; because he knows it's strong enough to not get itself knocked down.
Zero grows up beside a forest, so he usually does find a tree whenever he's pissed off. His habit didn't die when he lived in Veyyard though. Since it's harder to find a tree in that place, Zero just resorted into punching a wall. ...Which didn't do so well as a tree, because it's made of wood, and he destroyed the whole thing. The hunters eventually build a wall with cement after the boy had demolished their headquarters more than enough.
"C'mon Dragunov.." he spoke to his rifle as he strapped back the belt over his shoulder and made his way to where Mitsuko was. It was refreshing nonetheless, because even if he did got angered up by her story, he's glad she told him. That way, he can try to understand what she had been through, as that is his only lifetime mission he'd like to accomplish, every time if possible.
Plus, she was generous enough to provide the name of the fools who can help him with target practice. 'Oh hell yes, I definitely would hunt them in every nook and cranny existed on this planet and--'
While he was enjoying the thought of torturing them, it was cut short when he stopped his tracks. Crap, he forgot he has no sense of direction. Taking his time to do the perfect facepalm moment, Zero then aimlessly walked wherever his feet can take him. Somehow, he's not worried if he got lost, he knows he'll find her back...or she would find him.
While strolling, random memories with Mitsuko popped in his mind, and strangely, it's the exact same one Mitsuko was thinking in her head at the moment. He distinctly remember the time when the angel read him story books. Though he can't seem to recall what the story is about or how it goes, he certainly could remember the pictures, and her young voice.
Zero unconsciously smiled as he walked further down a random path, now recollecting another piece of his memory involving all the pictures the angel drew for him, from the second he woke up to the moment he sleeps. He's too embarrassed to ask her what does the words say inside the heart the bear hold every time he does to sleep, but since its inside a heart, he was sure it's a good thing, so he doesn't bother to ask.
Though now, he's getting curious.
While he was considering the possibilities of what the words meant, he didn't realized that his short walk to memory lane actually led him straight to the tree where Mitsuko is hiding in. Perhaps its the bond they shared that assisted him, its surprising how a heart can affect people.
"Peek a boo, I found you again," Zero lifted up his chin to see the hiding angel with a small smirk. It wasn't hard to hear the slight giggles she let out, especially since Zero missed that laugh, so his ears are sharper than normal to detect these things.
"I'm a hunter now, I can track people with ease," he playfully boasted in a joking manner. "Now I can totally win a game of hide and seek even if you don't go easy on me, Miki." He almost laughed, since now he realized it could be cheating, by using that bond they share to track her down. It's almost like they have an invisible thread in between each other, and Zero could simply follow the thread to lead him right to her.
It's odd for him, but in a good way.

Mitsuko smiled even more as she looked at her best friend from behind the tree, and then broke out into a series of laughs. "Being a bounty hunter sure has made you stronger. Especially with your intuition!"
She slowly climbed down from the tree that she was hiding in but even though she was taking her sweet time, her foot got caught on a branch and well, she fell straight down. The angel could have flew down instead, however since her wings were tired from being used in the fight earlier she chose not to use them to strain them out. If her wings became too strained, then they would bleed, and well that wouldn't be a pretty sight for Zero to see.
If she was taking a night flight however, then all she would do is glide in the air and her wings wouldn't work overtime. If she was taking someone out for a spin then her wings would become magical and give her the strength for her to hold onto the person she was flying with.
THUD. She hit the ground and just started laughing.
"Hahahaha! Owwww that hurt but it was funny how I fell!" The angel was so light hearted about it, but also a little embarrassed, that her cheeks turned into that peachy colour.
Once on the ground, the branch that broke off the tree fell on her head shortly after. It was a fruit tree, and since she slipped off the tree as she was coming down, it made a sudden movement and caused a few fruits to hit her head.
"Wha- Hey!, haha!" She looked into Zero's blue eyes with her blue eyes and said:
"Well Zero at least I can make a pie now. Look at all those fruits! There is enough to feed the inn, as well as-"
She paused, and put a hand over her heart as she went in a deep thought. She felt the sadness from all the less fortunate children, and with the angel falling, that was a sign, a sign that Mitsuko could give these children these fruits, as they did need nutrition.
"Zero... I have a favor to ask... you see... In Veyyard some friends of mine are planning to build an orphanage for the less fortunate children.... I know it sounds risky, especially to build an orphanage in a dangerous area... however... it is so important to help these children. Will you help us?"

"I think it has nothing to do with intuition at all.." Zero muttered, but more to himself actually, since if he possesses a hunter's intuition, then he'd never got himself lost so many times in the first place. No, Zero thinks that this is no intuition at all, it's merely this...invisible thread.
He watched Mitsuko climbing down the tree, calmly crossing his arms as he waited, but then when he noticed she lost her balance somehow. Zero automatically dived in under the tree to catch her before she falls.
THUD.
She still fell. Only that she fell on Zero. "Bah!" he let out some air out of his mouth when the impact was hit, because he wasn't fast enough to catch her, he lunged and she fell right on him. So there he laid, stomach against the ground, with an angel sitting on his spine.
"Ha ha, it was so funny, I forgot how to laugh," he choked from under her, though when he turned his head to glance at her, it's apparent that he's bearing an easy-going smile. That smile then grows into a laugh when he noticed how her cheeks had turned color.
"Don't tell me.. You're still such a peach-face too?" It's not long before a branch fell and hit the angel on her head, then some fruits too. Zero burst out into a fit of chuckles at the sight, while covering his own head in case any fruits would choose to knock onto him too.
After that rather funny moment, he crawled out from under his friend and sat next to her, leaning on the tree. He can tell Mitsuko's sudden change of mood any time of the day, so it's pretty easy for Zero to make up his own theories of why she felt that way before she even says something about it.
His theories are no where near her sudden request.
The bounty hunter stared at Mitsuko with his eyes widening, unable to believe what she just asked him, "An orphanage?" He repeated to make sure he heard it right. Immediately, his eyes seemed to loose a bit of its natural glisten, almost like he's being distracted from something. Something horrible.
"Mitsuko.." he pulled himself out of his trance shortly after that, "Of course I would help, by all means. ...I know exactly how those children feel.. Protection is what they craved the most, when they live in Veyyard.."
Zero avoided the angel's eyes, he does not want her to see how his face must have looked now when the pieces of his trauma flashes in his mind. "Of course it's risky, Veyyard is never safe. ...Still..building an orphanage? Have they thought of the safety measures?"
