Tana walked through the forest, fascinated still by this new land and how similar yet different it was. When she reached a clearing she smiled up at the mid-afternoon sun. The energy making the fire bender within her feel empowered. It had been a while since she practiced her fire bending forms.
She got into her first stance and moved through the motions with grace and precision as she released small and controlled blasts of fire into the air. Not noticing a massive crater covered in fog as she moved along the open terrain, Tana accidentally fell into it with a shriek as a fireball released high into the sky. She turned over so her feet were below her and quickly switched gears into air bending as she tried to create a ball of air beneath her to help her decent be more gradual.
In amazement Tana watched around her as a colony of fairies flew around. They came close to her as though inspecting her then fluttered away in distrust. When Tana reached the bottom she looked towards the top rim of the crater and almost gaping at the massive hole. "Wow," released from her mouth in a slight gasp of discovery. "This seems almost to be a spiritual place."
She sat down on her knees as closed her eyes as she listened to the sounds around her until she heard a rather threatening growl in front of her. Her eyes opened in surprise as she saw a beast about her size walking towards her with red eyes. It was covered in black coarse fur and although it was walking on four legs it had the appearance that it would be fine on two. Tana stood and prepared herself to escape the crater as the beast crouched seeming ready to attack. She heard a quiet screaming and rustling of the fairies around her that sped into their homes leaving the crater seeming empty and desolate.
Killing was not an option to her and Tana did not want to leave the beast here to ravage the fairies. However, bringing another deadly monster into the main of the forest did not seem to her to be a very wise choice despite the fact that whoever were to enter these woulds should know and be prepared that deadly creatures live and hunt in these woods.
In an instant the beast dashed at her. Tana broke into a run, moving quickly around the lower walls of the crater using air bending to make sure she could remain just a touch faster than the beast in hopes of tiring it out a bit. Not wanting to make that simple move go on for too long, she leaped from the wall and circled around onto the beast's back, grabbing hold of its hairs. "Hya," she yelled as she pulled on the hairs unsure of the reaction. As the beast tried to swing around behind itself it fell face forward into the ground because of the speed. Tana flew off as it tried to attack her and created a ball of air under her to keep herself above it. How was she to remove thing vicious thing from the crater, she wondered.
