Kida eyed the fish in Takato's paws, forcing herself not to gag and failed. Raw fish in sushi was one thing to her. A live, whole fish--gag--was another. "No, no....thanks....I'm good." she said in a restrained voice. Perhaps she should have sipped her soda, but she thought against it. Dry heaves were a lot less embarrassing than emptying her stomach in front of him.
Searching for another subject in her head, Kida let the water she had gathered return to the lake. She decided it best to latch onto the conversation they had been having before. "I'm not one to list celebrities and such that I like. Although I kind of get the feeling that's something you would do." She shifted her weight and focused her gaze on him, not the fish. "All big chested blonds with no brain?"

Takato was appalled. Though he has dated or more rather had some crazy nights with them. But that dosnt mean he didn't like other women. Hell if he liked big chested blondes so much then why was he chasing after Kida? Sure she had the the big chest. But he didn't have the blonde so what was her point. He liked them all. They didn't even have to be big chested they could be flat for all he cared. As long as they worked what they had. Thats what really what got him running. He was always attracted in the attitude department. It was hot on a woman.
"Who? Me? I'm afraid you got the wrong guy" No Takato's worse than that, he goes for anything really. But who knows what the future may hold right?

"Yeah, sure. It's anything that moves and is female for you." Kida shook her head. "One right swell guy alright..." she muttered to herself. She had no doubt he was constantly putting the moves on leagues of women. How many it worked on, Kida really wondered. Of course she had always had fun playing that little game with him, but after a while Kida felt that they had become real friends. That they could, and did, hang out together like this, even help each other when they needed it.
Still, Kida wondered sometimes why he didn't just ditch her. His motives weren't exactly clear to her. Well. Except for when his gaze traveled. Truly though, Kida didn't know if Takato was actually interested in her or if he was just being a guy. A real player would have dropped her as soon as he saw she wouldn't give up the goods easily. However Takato seemed to actually have a heart under that raging libido. "I'm sort of surprised you still hang out with me."

Takato was lapping water out of the lake, washing down the rest of his food he had eaten earlier. It was then he hear Kida's remark, regarding being suprised they even still hang out. Takato stopped what he was doing and looked at Kida with a shocked face. Why wouldn't he hang out with her? She's hot, she's nice (when she wants to be) And fun to be around. Not to mention the wired feeling he gets when he's around her. But Takato wasn't going to say that. No that would hurt his manpride. Or what little was left of it. Takato looked at Kida who seemed to be annoyed? upset? Maybe even confused. Though Takato couldn't tell exactly what she was feeling.
And to be quiet honest. Takato's sex life has almost been non-existent as of late. Who knew a white lie would last 2 years or more. But thats ok, It helped Takato get rid of the annoying fangirls following him every now and then. The only thing Takato HAS done in the past 2 years was flirt. Why do you ask? Well Lets just say Takato has been... distracted? Yet he hasnt been able to make Kida fall for him. No not at all, He didn't even think there was a chance these days!
Yes! Believe it! Takato can not keep a girl interested for more than 2 days! Let alone 2 years! Infact, Takato surprised they are even friends at his awkwardness! Friends he can do... romancing someone... He failed at.
"Why would you say that, Arlene!" Takato said turning back into his human form. Takato wanted to scoot in and wrap his arm around her. But judging her expression when he was eating the fish. She'd probably run away from him because up fish breath. And he's probably not the person she wants putting his arm around her at the moment either.

"Nothing. Never mind." she said, shaking her head. Kida didn't know why she had bothered to ask, it wasn't something that she wanted to talk about. Kida looked away, studying the ground with feigned interest. Grass was really green. "It was just a thought I had."
Eager to change the topic of conversation, Kida stretched her arms upward, mumbling nonsense about sore muscles and workouts. Then she dug into her Mary Poppin's bag once more and pulled out a thick graphic novel. She flipped it open and let her eyes wander over the illustrations she had seen so many times before. She wasn't reading the text with in the speech bubbles, Kida knew all the lines by heart. Instead she studied the lines of the drawing, the curves, the arches, the corners. More than once doing this had given her the desire to try drawing herself. Sadly, Kida had no talent for it, so she was resigned to admiring the work of others.
All in all, this was really just a distraction so she wouldn't have to address what she had so idiotically brought up to Takato.

Takato looked at her with a wide eyed expression. He was more than curious now. She's avoiding the subject. Takato stood up and walked over towards her. "No, What? Why would you think that I wouldn't want to hang out with you?" Takato protested. It was then she dug into her bag pulling out a book.. no no it was a graphic novel. Great now she's ignoring him. Takato took a seat next to Kida. He knew what she was doing she was trying to change the subject.
She wanted him to ask about the book but Takato just wanted to know why the hell she would say something like that Takato looked over towards Kida as she was either reading or studying the page. He wanted to get her attention but he didn't know exactly just how to go about it. He wanted an answer from that remark but seriously she was drowning herself in that book. "What are you reading" He finally gave in.

"Just an old comic." she muttered under her breath. Takato was close enough to make Kida very aware of his presence, enough to make her squirm inside considering the subject that she was trying to avoid. She didn't like feeling like a fool or looking stupid and that's what the result would be if they actually started a conversation about their relationship. If they even had one.
Kida didn't notice when a sigh escaped her. Her eyes were boring into the page of the graphic novel, not really seeing anything at all because she was too deep in thought. "I wouldn't ask about it unless you want a really full explanation like I'm bound to give. Remember the whole Gargoyles thing?" And the huge Spiderman debate she had almost taken his head off for because she had been provoked by a poster.

Takato knew he was close, but at the same time he hadn't really noticed. Since when does he not notice how close he was? It was a rare sight. Especially when around a female. But Takato had other things in his mind. His head was wrapped around the idea of what she meant with by that question. Who wouldn't be curious about something like that. There was a small light in his heart. Could she be feeling something? Takato wasn't sure with himself if that was the case but who knew!
It had been two years. Kida spoke, reminding him of their first conversation about Gargoyles. He inwardly laughed remembering that moment. But what did that have to do with anything. Takato didn't really understand how they were connected anyway possible. "Yes...?" He said

Kida blinked. "And...ya know, how I talked at the speed of a train until I couldn't breathe explaining it...? I'm bound to have another geek attack if you really get me going. And I don't wanna get you all uncomfortable and thinking I'm weird again." She gave a little inner sigh. Would she never find someone else who loved this kind of stuff like she did? Kida was desperate for someone to discuss the pros and cons of the batcave's location with. She would talk about the most insignificant detail at this point.
Even though Darel made fun of her for it and rolled his eyes frequently during her geek attacks, he also poked and proded her with things only a comic nut would know. Or maybe he just hung out with her too much. After so many monologues, apparently somethings just sunk in. "Yeah...I don't want to look that stupid again." Particularly with someone who could potentially take it the wrong way.

Takato didn't believe his ears. she didn't want to look stupid!?!?!?! He gave her a somewhat glaring look, he couldn't believe she just said that. As if she could look even remotely stupid. She was too busy looking hot. Besides how could something like that even be thought of stupid? The way Takato saw it, it was passion... And she was not allowed to keep secrets from him. Sure maybe they weren't even dating yet. but still. How was he suppose to get anywhere with her if she is keeping herself all bottled up.
That's when Takato reached out to her, without her consent, and pulled her onto his lap. "No, Explain" Besides, When she went into uber geek mode it was kinda cute.

"Ahhhhhhhhhh! Careful!" Kida steadied the soda that she had been about to bring to her lips and guarded her graphic novel closely. Pausing, she waited until he was done moving and threw him a little glare. "This is a genuine So-Rah reprint!" Kida set the soda on the ground out of the way where it would have no chance of marring her poor baby. If he had made her spill red soda all over the pages of this comic she would have killed him.
"So-Rah! As in Pre-Vandelore days! Before Ramus got his bite mark and Sal went nuts. Hell, Dorine is a waitress living in ignorance, she doesn't even know about So-Rah yet!!!" Kida clutched the book to her dry chest. "Sure, I could find another one, but it would take forever! It wasn't as popular as it should have been a decade ago and they're not in print anymore! R. Mitas even discontinued the series!"
Kida continued by holding the closed book up to his face. "And don't you tell me it's messed up already, because this isn't damage! This is proof of love from the reader! I've had this thing since I was eleven!" Her breathing was a little faster than it had been before he touched her, due completely to the fact that she had been speaking a mile a minute since then. Well, he had wanted an explanation and he got one. Now she didn't care if he thought she was stupid or not, if he opened his mouth about it she'd bean him in the head.

Takato raised an eyebrow. He couldn't understand a word she said. Even though he was intently listening to everything she was saying. Her words were so smashed together that it sounded a little like 'rijeowjakrfdsnfuajdslkfjnsdfklasdhfkwaqbkrhoeisjhruiewri' The only thing he heard was bite and maid. Oh dear now how do you pull this one off. Its not that he even thought she was stupid at all. He was just trying to figure out what she was saying. Did someone bite the maid? No no what kind of story is that? Everyone likes to bite the maid. She held the comic book so close to her chest as if it was an infant. But I guess if you had something since you were 11. It was the same story with his gun. Given to him by Odessa's father just before he died, when he was about 7 years old. So he could relate in that point.
Takato chuckled as he could feel her rigid breathing from ramming all of her words together. He went over the words he actually heard... Bite. "So its about vampires?" He didn't want to ask for he was afraid of her ramming her words again. Or exploding on his lap, with the reason that he wasn't listening enough. He braced himself though for he felt it was coming. And rather fast.

Kida stared at Takato for several very long seconds. Then she smacked him in the head with the book. "NO!"
"Weren't you listening? I mean, I know So-Ra isn't very popular, but jeez. I didn't even say 'Vampires'." Some people just didn't understand these things. "You need a tutor or something to teach you this stuff. That way I can dress you up and drag of off to Comic-Con with me." Not that he'd survive, but it would be fun none the less.
Thankfully for Takato, Kida was speaking at a normal speed now, so every word was understandable. "I mean how can I take you to Treble Mania when you don't even know what a Treble is?" Whoops. Kida had made a Freudian slip. She hadn't admitted aloud, let alone to herself, that she had been planning on taking him to some such event. Or if that didn't work out, going on some sort of date-type-thing.

"Ow" Takato said rubbing his head. Well, he expected the yelling part but he didn't expect the book to be flying at his head. And damn! She hits HARD! But all of the pain in his head went away she she started ranting and raving about dressing him up for a comic-con. He didn't mind going but it depended what he was going to dress up as that made him worry. That blank stare was quickly replaced by a smirk. "Well then, why dont YOU tutor me" Besides who else was going to teach him? He knew no one else that was anywhere interested in this kind of stuff. He didn't even think of it as a date.
In fact it didn't even cross his mind until she mentioned a second event 'Treble Mania'. Takato's smirk only grew wider. "Are you asking me out on a date?" Takato's ego only grew. For some reason he KNEW that she had the hots for him! Just knew it! The only fall back that crossed Takato's mind was that he was going to have to read and pay attention for brownie points. It wasn't like school where you could just get an F and make up for it with extra credit. No, if He failed this Takato would never be able to date her or even come close to her for the next million years!
Good thing Comics were more interesting than school books....

"I would, but then you wouldn't--What?" Kida blinked, her eyes going wide. Date? When did she say anything about a date? "I didn't say anything about a date!" she said, mirroring her thoughts. Despite that her cheeks tinged with a little bit of pink. "You don't even know what Treble Mania is!"
For all he knew it could be a public execution. Kida shoved at him, trying to get out of his lap as it was dawning on her how close they really were. She tossed the comic on top of her bad so she had both of her hands free. "It was an example, a figure of speech! Not whatsoever based on reality."
Kida would, though she wouldn't admit it to herself, be very amazed by Takato if he spouted some comic-geek knowledge. Even more so, she would be grudgingly attracted by it.
