Kaekeru was happy when she said okay, but the short kiss she gave him after managed to make his smile grow more as he looked at her lovingly. Especially since she was one to freak out or feel nervous whenever he showed his affection to her in a physical manner, it always pleased him dramatically whenever she would show such physical affections to him.
His smile turned more into a grin as she asked if he wanted her to help him remove his clothes. He was partly tempted to comment on that, but held such comments in to keep from freaking her out too much. He watched her with his grin as he waited for the realization sank in and grinned a bit more as he saw the blush fill in her cheeks.
He chuckled silently a moment and removed the cloak that protected him from full exposure to sunlight in the daytime. As he handed that to her, still grinning but a bit less full, he spoke again. "I will undress myself and get into the water right here. You do not have to watch me if it makes you feel uncomfortable, my dear." He said, unintentionally rhyming as he spoke.
"As long as I can keep my eyes on you... I may be able to remind myself that I am not just dreaming you here." He spoke with a smile, a slight flicker of pain flashing through his eyes. He then began to unbutton his black dress shirt since it was also stained with blood that got underneath his cloak.

Syani took the cloak that was given to her, her hands active in trying to fold the cloak a bit but her eyes are somewhat distracted by a cloakless Kaekeru in front of her.
On normal terms, Syani would notice the rhyme while pointing it out and giggling at it. But what came out of her mouth was, "......I have never seen Kae-kun without a cloak before..." Her attention was completely intent towards Kaekeru as she pulled his white cloak to cover half her face with it. Not her eyes though.
She might actually fit to be a creeper with how wide her eyes are staring at a man undressing. "It's fine, I'll remind you myself that I'm quite real here..." Syani responded rather distractedly with a weak wave of her hand, and creepily her eyes are still focused on him, almost as if entranced.
It was until he began unbuttoning his shirt that the half-vampire blinked her eyes. "Do you mind if I secretly take pictures of you, Kae-kun..?" Her voice is slightly muffled what with his cloak is pressed against her nose and mouth like that as if it's to hide herself.
"I mean, I'm asking your permission but not when I really take them, because it's a secret and all." Syani and her never-ending trail of illogical reasons. She blinked twice before suddenly throwing Kaekeru's cloak over her.
Since she's sitting down, it covers her whole figure. "Hey, hey, Kae-kun. Do you think I can see you through this fabric, or not?"

Kaekeru had no problem with her watching him undress if she wanted to. He himself hadn't even seen his body yet since he'd been dumped on that mountain. He smiled at her as she assured him she was real.
When Syani asked if she could secretly take pictures, his smile seemed playful for a moment as he asked "What, now?", only for her to go on explaining that she means some time randomly in the future. "You can do whatever you want." He said as he glanced down at his shirt to finish unbuttoning it, not seeing her cover herself.
As his shirt opened, he saw evidence of scars on his chest from torture with weapons capable of significantly hurting and actually scarring vampires. His vision began to blur as he started to see his scars open up as though they were freshly made and blood was pouring out of them. The world around him flickered between the forest and the dark red dungeon. Panicked and fear filled his mind.
He looked up to where Syani should have been as he thought he heard her voice, but all he saw was his cloak. Frantically, he moved forward to grab his cloak and quickly threw it up and off of her body. As he searched her face for her eyes, his own flickered gold and red in fear as he questioned inside whether she was actually there or not.
He reached out to touch her arms and felt his way up to her face to hold it steady, needing to feel her existence as he stared into her eyes. Slowly, the flickering began to calm down. The dark red room began to fade from his vision as Syani and the forest behind her became clearer. The front of his shirt was open and his torso was covered in scars.
His eyebrows creased as he stared into her eyes. Slowly, he lowered his head into her shoulder and reached around her to hold himself close to her. "Syani...." He whispered. "You're still real.... right?"

Syani always wonders why Kaekeru is so patient with her speaking random and often nonsensical things. The fact that he always responded so positively to her strangeness was something she likes quite much about him.
As she's playing around with his cloak, it surprised her when she felt she was grabbed. Before she can react any further, the cloak was discarded, and she was met with a sight of a panic-stricken Kaekeru. Her eyes locked into his, clearly seeing how his eyes changed rapidly between two distinct colors.
She froze in place as Kaekeru reached out to hold her face. She can almost feel how clammy his palms felt against her face, and that's when she realized something must be wrong. "Kae-kun?" She whispered, concerned.
Syani correctly figured that the stress probably came from somewhere on his body, but before she could check, Kaekeru had already latched onto her to hold himself close. Her heart almost broke hearing how his voice sounded calling for her. "I'm here. I'm real. ...I'm here." She says, her voice becoming softer by the end as she reaches her arms up to return his hug, if only to let him know she's really here.
She just stays there, wondering what sort of torture they had done to him for him to be this broken. "Are you okay...?" Syani's voice is barely above a whisper, careful not to trigger anything. "I promise I won't go anywhere... I'll heal anything that hurts." He had told her they changed him, but he didn't tell her what exactly happened. Perhaps for a good reason, so she wasn't about to ask. The best Syani can do right now is be present for him.

Kaekeru held onto Syani as though his life depended on her existence. Her voice felt like a whisper from a dream in his ears. "I'm here" he heard her say clearly and quietly as her arms embraced him in return. "I'm here" her voice echoed in his head as he breathed in her scent and felt her warmth. Slowly, his breathing began to still and his body began to relax in her arms.
Her voice again, a comforting promise. Kaekeru exhaled slowly as his body relaxed even more. "I think... I'll be fine... as long as you're here.", he said slowly and quietly as he pulled himself back up to look into her eyes again.
His expression appeared tired and sad with a small and bittersweet smile as though it was all he could muster in the moment. He gently held the side of her head and lowered his forehead to hers, closing his eyes for a moment before staring back at her just a little more warmly again. "I love you."

Syani secured her arms around him almost protectively as she can only imagine the kind of pain he experienced. Her hold of him tightens as she fights her tears from welling in her eyes. She kept holding him until she feels the energy around him slowly easing down and his body relaxing.
Her golden eyes search for his once he pulls himself back up, not quite convinced he's as fine as he says. Traumatic events can be very difficult to come to terms with, and Syani is unsure if she can help him in that way. "..If... If you feel like you need serious help, we can look up some books together?" She suggested lamely, only trying to be careful not to overstep. "It might be nice? We first met at a library, after all. That was a funny time."
In her own way, Syani is trying to offer her help, while trying to keep the conversation light.
"Do you remember when you used to call me Lady Syani?" She tries to deepen her voice on the last sentence to imitate Kaekeru's. "Good times, huh."
At this point, she's smiling up at him warmly, her eyes half-closed as she gazes up at him intently, deeply. Thankfully. Kaekeru is holding the side of her head, while Syani reaches up to turn his jaw slightly to face her, just as he rests his forehead on hers. She studied his features lovingly, her hand at his jaw had slid up to gently brush a little dirt off right under his eye. He went through so much and she almost can't believe he's right here with her now.
"I love you." They both said simultaneously. Syani lets out a singular chuckle at that, breaking their fragile intimate moment. "You're really something..." She whispered in amusement, pulling herself away before she has the need to kiss him again.
She took that short moment to very briefly glance at the scars snaking across his torso, but then quickly looked back up at him and locking their eyes together. That grateful smile of hers never leaving off her face. "I'll help you with your shirt, okay?" While she said that, her mind echoes constantly, as if to pull him in, 'Look at me.'
Unbuttoning the rest of Kaekeru's black dress shirt quick enough before either of them realizes it's done, Syani plans to do this entire process without ever breaking eye contact with him. Her hands then gently reach up to his shoulders, patting them lightly to signal him to drop his arms down. Once he does so, she expertly pulls the shirt completely off of him in an extremely quick manner. Like pulling a tablecloth without disturbing the items on it. "And I didn't even peek," she winks, her eyes never blinking away from him. "Impressed yet?"

Kaekeru's eyes softened at Syani's earnest suggestion to search for books in a library, like the place where they'd met. "I'll go anywhere with you.", he said, almost intentionally focusing more on the place than the purpose.
"Used to?", he asked, glad to be reminded of something more pleasant. "You will always be my most beautiful Lady Syani." For a moment, while saying that, he almost felt like his past self again, as though he'd never been taken from her. If only for a moment.
Hearing her declaration of love at the same time, Kaekeru let out a slight breath of satisfation as he smiled at her lovingly. That hint of exhaustion in his eyes still betrayed him as he tried to hold onto this feeling of love and of himself that he'd forgotten.
"As you wish, my lady.", Kaekeru said in response to Syani suggesting she help him with his shirt. His mind at the thought almost began to feel cloudy again, but he forced himself to keep his eyes only on Syani, afraid of what he'd see if he looked down. He tried to maintain his smile for her, but the faint traces of fear behind his eyes were starting to betray him. His breathing slowly became a little heavier as she took off his top. Thoughts swirled in his head of the wounds on his torso and arms, the red room, the things he'd forgotten or tried to forget. It was as though it took all of his mental energy to focus himself on Syani as his eyes twisted into sadness, fatigue and concern while he tried to maintain his loving gaze. His smile faltering slowly.
He followed her unspoken directions, moving his body as hers commanded so she could finish removing his shirt. When she was done and made a joke of it, some of that twisting emotion seemed to pass as he exhaled. His gaze softened again a bit, though still fatigued, as he reached out for her again, gently taking her hand to feel her existance and find his tether to reality. "I'm always impressed by you, my love.", he said softly, almost in a whisper.

Syani is glad Kaekeru reciprocated with her feeble attempt to cheer him up. Her eyes still held a tinge of worry as she lets whatever stupid thing to fly out her mouth; a memory, a joke, a plan to hang out together. She'll grab at anything to keep him here with her. She will do everything it takes.
Her eyes are locked onto him the entire time she removes his shirt, picking up slight changes in his expression despite his desperate attempt to hold it together for her. A small smile was on her face as he reaches out for her hand. It wasn't his words that she's keenly hearing, but his body language; his heavier breathing, his quickening heartbeat.
Using her other hand, Syani gently rests her palm against his cold cheek, noticing how tired he looks. "You can rest soon..." She whispers quietly, a promise. "I'll keep you safe." Her eyes stayed with his, as she moves her hand from his cheek to the side of his bare shoulder.
Slowly, she lifts herself up on her feet, bringing Kaekeru up with her. She adjusts his hold of her hand so that she holds his hand as well and grips it securely. "You don't have to get in the water," she assures him, softly pushing a stray blonde hair out of his eye. "I'll bring the water to you."
Syani changes her stance. Her hold of his hand widens from their body and settles at their side, while her other hand rests on his shoulder, as if she's about to dance with him. "Listen to the forest around you, then follow my lead." Soft winds whistled through the trees, and the lapping sound of the lake water provides an almost magical ambience. She stands closer to him, turning her head aside so her ear is pressed towards the center of his chest. With a shaky breath, she listens to his heartbeat.
Then her breath stills.
And then she begins to hum with the beat of his heart, her voice clear and bright. The melody is a spell, and her voice is the magic, resounding through the quiet night. Slowly, she guides them into a slow sway of a dance, eventually separating her ear from his chest, and moves her legs farther into a proper slow dance, all the while humming the melody. She leads him to the lake, but as they step on it, they did not fall in. The lake is like glass, cool under their bare feet, and supports them both as if they weight as much as a single leaf.
In response to her hums, the water from the lake rises droplet by droplet. Syani takes another step to spin them around, splashing the droplets of water around them in whimsical merriment. The music she hums had picked up energy as she takes larger steps in their dance, now grinning as hums the song with her mouth open, clearly enjoying this experience with him.
They danced on the lake, getting subsequently wetter as they move through the droplets of floating water. Each of their steps causing ripples on the lake, and Syani begins to laugh through her song. She keeps on humming and dancing with him until they both are drenched. The water cools their bodies, and the magic property of her melody heals all the smaller shallower scars on Kaekeru's body.
When the song finishes, Syani looks out of breath, but her mirth is blinding. With an energetic laughter, she brings up her arms around his neck and pushes herself up on her toes to kiss him on the lips. The lake stills beneath their feet and the droplets of water slowly falling onto the body of water. The moon shone above the two as if to protect them form the world's disturbances.
As her breath caught up to her, Syani pulls away from the kiss, her cheeks reddening both from the exercise and her heightened feelings for him. "You're a great dancer~" She said between giggles, now pulling him away from the lake with an excited skip. She wouldn't want them both to fall in the lake after the spell ends.

Kaekeru gently responded to her hand on his cheek by pressing ever so slightly into it. He smiled a little softer again she told him she would keep him safe. Then his eyebrows furrowed a little more as his eyes contorted with a twinge of pain at the thoughts that she intends to protect him from. A part of him hated for a moment his inability to save himself to spare her the pain of pulling him out of his own.
As her hand rested on his shoulder, Kaekeru's body shook for a second as his breath caught for a moment in his throat. He tried to push the thoughts of being lashed over his shoulder out of his mind and focus on the woman he loved in front of him. He tried to follow her words and hear the forest, though anything outside of his vision of her in front of him was hard to focus on.
His breath caught again as she pressed her ear against his chest, sudden flashes of memories of being stabbed repeatedly. He tried to focus on the top of her head now that he could no longer see her eyes. He lowered his head to gently touch his cheek to her head, craving her warmth and her scent.
He followed her movements as though it was only natural to move as she moved. As they moved in tandem, his expression slowly calmed again. When she moved away from his chest, he searched for her eyes again and smiled that loving, small, tired smile at her again. Kaekeru didn't notice that they'd moved onto the lake. He focused only on her. Her voice. Her touch. Her eyes. Her movements.
When the water droplets began to touch him, Kaekeru's body shuddered for a moment again as he fought to push back flashes of memories of scalding and freezing water and sometimes other substances being dumped on him to stir him awake. This water was soft and mild, and Syani was guiding him. He focused on her as he continued to move along with her. Seeing her smile allowed his expression to soften and warm again slightly as they moved together. Her laughter while she sang was as beautiful to him as her beautiful singing voice.
He didn't notice when some of his scars shrank slightly or disappeared. He wasn't even aware that his wounds still existed as scars before he saw them when he first tried to remove his shirt.
He smiled at her at she laughed, the dance apparently over. As her arms reached up around his neck, his own instinctively moved around her back to hold her. He gladly welcomed her kiss and met her partway, leaning over slightly to help her reach. As he kissed her, he gently held her even closer and pressed a little more into the kiss, needing her.
His grip gently loosened slightly as he felt her trying to pull away. He smiled more warmly than before back at her, as though his pain had been pushed further away by her kiss. "I was raised to be a perfect gentleman.", he responded without thought to her remark on his dancing. Her giggles were better than a symphony to his ears. He held onto her as she lead him off of the lake he hadn't fully realized they'd been standing on top of.

Syani wasn't sure how to help Kaekeru at first. She had thought about several people in her life who probably has enough skills or emotional intelligence to help him properly; her ex-roommate Kieru would be able to relate to his pain more accurately than her, her sister figure Mitsuko has the healing capability to heal his body completely unlike her, her friend Roy would be able to provide a realistic and grounded solution better than she can, heck even her teacher Mr. Reinhardt would be able to help by easing the painful memories that's haunting him right now, something she obviously cannot do.
She couldn't help him like they can. But he chose her to come back to, so she can only help him in the way that she herself can; being a distraction.
At the end of the dance, there's not a drop of stray blood on him and it seems his wounds look a little bit better. She can't do much with the intense magical scars running along his arms and around the center of his chest, though. Those look too advanced for her to even attempt to heal. Her eyes didn't gaze long to study his scars out of respect for him, but she intends to look at it more clearly when he's asleep.
More importantly at this moment, Syani's glad to see the object of her affection looking much better after the dance, and even more so after the kiss. His comment was what seals it. "Hey," She warned monotonously before giving him a piece of her mind from years ago. "Perfect gentleman, my ass, you stole my first kiss! Consent is important, my dear~" At her last sentence, she tries to mimic his voice, but it was all in good fun.
As the two left the lake, so did the droplets of water, as if outside the lake itself is a world they cannot enter. The droplets slide off the clothes, hair and skin to stay in the air directly proportional to the body of water they belonged to. Right after Kaekeru's foot left the lake, the spell ended, and the droplets fell into the water in tinkling plinks. Like the sound of a windchime.
The two were as dry as how they came. Syani is just happy her spell worked, now Kaekeru is clean and dry and a little healed. Her next job is to wrap up those wounds with bandages, so he won't freak out every time he disrobes himself. She doesn't have them on hand right now, but she plans to bring him to Bone Healers to get some bandages and some healing ointment to go with it after it opens later in the morning.
At the thought of his clothes, her head snapped towards the area she left his shirt and cloak at. "Ah, damn it, I forgot to wash them with the spell...!" She cried in a dry whisper, ending her lament with a sigh and a drop of her head. Without looking up, she raises her right hand and snapped her fingers.
Immediately, her reliable red cloak appears around Kaekeru like a blanket. "It can keep you warm, since... you don't have anything to wear. Whoops." At least the thing has magical warming properties. Syani looks up at him with her cloak snugly around him and a smile grew on her face. "Look at you. It's like the boyfriend shirt thing, except you're wearing a... girlfriend cloak??"
Her own words made her pause. What is their relationship?
"Huh? Wait, are we in a relationship right now...?"
It had never occurred to her through the years of denial and pining and sexual tension and finally mutual love that they're considered together.
'I hope we are.' She caught herself thinking so and shakes her head to get rid of the thought. 'He has telepathy, stop, stop! Think happy thoughts!' Unfortunately, her happy thoughts consist of several images of Kaekeru smiling back in school. 'Ugh...'

Kae's eyebrows raised slightly at Syani's tone when she started to speak again. His smile turned into an amused grin as she began to playfully chastise him. "Well," he began, gently pulling on her hand that he was still holding to bring her closer to him again as he wrapped his other arm around her waist. "I am still a vampire, my love~" His amused smile had more of flirtatious glint to it now. "But I apologize for having made you uncomfortable in the past." He leaned a bit closer to her, his eyes never leaving hers. "May I kiss you again?"
Kaekeru gladly let Syani lead him anywhere she wished. He focused so intently on only her that the world around them didn't fully exist to him. Even as the water pulled away from him, he barely noticed the feeling of being dry again as he stared lovingly at Syani.
As Syani's head snapped around to look at his clothes, it was like a spell had suddenly ended and he was slowly becoming aware of some of his surroundings again. His smile faltered slightly. He caught a brief glimpse of red on his white cloak and the lingering scent of dried blood reached his nose. He tried to keep his focus on Syani when he suddenly felt something wrap around him.
His eyes widened slightly as he glanced down at the fabric around him. The familiarity made his smile relax a little more again as he looked back at Syani again. Syani's concern for his warmth made his smile grow a little more again. He thought of saying how he doesn't feel cold easily, but was happy with her concern and generousity and didn't want to counter it. His smile widened again into more of a grin at the mentions of boyfriend and girlfriend.
He chuckled lightly at her questioning if they're in a relationship or not. "Aren't we?" He questioned back initially. Hearing her thoughts, he smiled even wider, his loving gaze fixed on her. "Or how about," he began, using one arm to hold her close again and the other to gently lift her face to face him. "Will you marry me?"
