In a small human settlement in the center of Ianne forest, right at the very edge of the neighborhood, stood a solitary house. Like all homes in this neighborhood, it has a large garden filled with a generous number of plants. Mostly herbs and flowers. In that house lived a witch, a vampire and their young offspring.
"They said they're on their way right now-- Kae-kun, stop baking more cookies!" The witch cried after hearing the ding of the oven and putting the phone down. She was on a call with her sister figure, Mitsuko, just this morning. The angel informed her that she wishes to meet up to catch up with some stuff, so Syani invited Mitsuko and her friend Eve to a small tea party in her garden this afternoon.
Well, she planned it to be small, but her tireless perfectionist of a husband, Kaekeru, is currently preparing the perfect tea party for her and her friends, complete with several types of hand-baked cookies and small sandwiches. He had only saw her baking a fruitcake this morning and asked for the occassion. Once she answers, he went out of his way to prepare everything else. "Stop, stop, enough! It's just a small thing..!" Of course she tried to stop him, but really, nothing can stop this vampire from performing everything to utter perfection.
He's currently outside on their porch placing cutleries on a vibrant pink tablecloth that he had spread over their small round table. Syani steps out to the garden and can finally see him being utterly focused on the cutleries. "Where'd you find the time to do all this? What-?"
Before she can even comprehend what had happened, a loud "DADA" erupted from their garden. Out came a small girl from a flowerbed, holding a bunch of daises haphazardly by the petals as she made her way triumphantly to Kaekeru. "Dada! Daisy!!" She held up the flowers with both her hands, as if to show her loot. Apparently the 'dada' had tasked the child to find flowers he could decorate the vase with for the tea party.
"Siofra!" Syani quickly approaches her daughter, one hand on her hips. "What did I say about being gentle with flowers?" The little girl stares up at her mother for a while, processing her words, and then readjusts her hold of the flowers by holding it by the stem instead. "Good girl! You're so smart!"
Some of the flowers had dropped on the ground when Siofra tried to hold it correctly, so Syani bends over to pick them up and approaches Kaekeru together with her daughter. They both hand over the daisies to him at the same time with the exact same gesture. Syani particularly has more sass to it, "Really? You need to learn the concept of moderation one of these days."
After a while, the tea party table is ready. Along with her fruitcake, there's a pot of tea and a 3-tier tea stand with layers of different small snacks namely sandwiches, scones, pudding, tarts, as well as cookies and sweets. She stared at it in disbelief, shaking her head at how big this supposed small tea party is. The table is at the nook of the garden, so there's a bit of privacy to speak, just in case Mitsuko needs it. It overlooks the entire garden, so Syani can keep an eye on her daughter playing around with her many, many toys just in case.
Finally, Syani is ready to receive her guests.[Mitsuko]

When Kaekeru got out of an empty bed in the morning, he went searching the house for his beloved wife. He found her attempting to bake a fruitcake in the kitchen and she informed him that she was planning a tea party with two female friends. But a tea party with only a fruitcake was not a proper tea party, and his beloved wife deserved to have the best tea party. It wasn't often she invited over friends. He smiled lovingly at her and immediately moved to grab his apron and join her in the kitchen. Since they had become serious as a couple, he had been honing his cooking skills, even though he himself doesn't eat human food. He began preparing various types of small sandwiches and cookies and pastries for his beloved wife and her friends to enjoy. He also prepared plenty of extra for his incredibly beautiful daughter Siofra to enjoy as well. He smiled to himself as he imagined them both happily eating what he made for them. After cooking several batches of different types of cookies and pastries, he was finally finishing the last one he'd prepared. He still wondered if it was enough as the oven beeped, only to hear his beloved wife calling at him to stop baking. He smiled to himself as he pulled out the tray to let them cool.
He then picked up a neatly folded pink tablecloth and cutlery. While heading out of the kitchen and towards the garden, he quietly walked past his darling Syani, gently landing a kiss on top of her head as he smoothly continued on to the garden. There was enough shade at the moment to not need his cloak immediately, so he continued outside. He held the cutlery in one hand and the cloth in the other as, with a flourish, he unfolded the cloth with a single hand and draped it over the table. He smoothed the tablecloth out as he began setting down the cutlery. He made four places, in case his beautiful daughter decided to sit with her beloved mother. His beloved wife came outside to ask him where he found the time. Kaekeru just looked at her with a loving smile. "Anything to make sure you enjoy your time to the fullest extent, my dear."
At the sound of his beautiful daughter calling him, Kaekeru immediately dropped the rest of the cutlery in a pile on the table and turned around to face her as she came out of the flowerbed. He knelt down to be closer to her height as she approached him and he smiled at her lovingly. Syani had stopped her along the way to correct her hold of the flowers, and Kaekeru just smiled lovingly at them both. Kaekeru chuckled slightly as they both made the same gestures while handing the flowers towards him. They're beautiful.", He said, staring more at his beautiful daughter than the flowers. He gently reached out to take them from her and pat her head lovingly. He then tucked one of the daisies in her hair before standing up. He then smiled at his beloved wife while taking the rest from her, and put another daisy in her hair as well while she protested his preparation. "I'll only do the very best for my darling girls." He responded as he placed a kiss on her forehead.
He went inside to prepare the flowers neatly in a vase of water, then brought them back outside and placed them on the table. He finished fixing the cutlery, then went back inside to collect a tray of plates and teacups and set those down neatly in all four places. He then went to the kitchen to arrange the treats he and his beloved wife had made on two separate 3-tiered tea stands, opting to only bring one outside at a time. When it gets low, he thought to himself, he'll swap it for a full one. He brought it outside along with an empty pot. He would bring the actual tea to the pot once the guests arrived so it doesn't get cold.
When he was done, he smiled proudly and lovingly at his beloved wife and beautiful daughter. "Now this looks like a proper tea party." He said with a smile, hoping that his beloved wife will be happy. He then scooped up his beautiful daughter in his arms. "And you, my dears," he began, kissing his beautiful daughter on top of her head, "look perfect as always." He then turned to face his beloved wife and gave her a proper kiss on the lips.

With a daisy in her hair, Syani nodded once Kaekeru announced that the table looks like a proper tea party. "All thanks to you! I didn't really plan it to look this... perfect." She bent down closely on the table to look at his handiwork. Not one thing out of place. Terrifying.
Living with a perfectionist of a househusband is, to be fair, exhausting. In a good way. He would do something extremely well that Syani can never replicate, and it comes to a point where she had given up telling him that he should slow down or do things moderately. He never seems tired of it too. Terrifying.
Syani notices the sun is starting to peek out of the clouds and discreetly went to take Kaekeru's sunproof cloak from the coat hanger near the doorway. They have some wooden slats for a canopy that's completely overrun by plants and vines from their garden, making it safe for the family of vampires to enjoy their garden from the sun. However, just in case, Syani drapes the cloak over her husband carefully, who's carrying their daughter in his arms.
"I don't understand how you can make everything look like they came out of a fairytale." She responded after he kissed her, completely desensitized by it at this point."FAIRYTALE!" Siofra cried out in sudden inspiration, urging Kaekeru to play pretend with her again. "I'm a fairy! And you're a fairy king!" She places her tiny hand on his shoulder, as if she's knighting him a sacred role. "We have to find mushwooms with the fairy circle! We have to pwotect the dinosaurs!"Syani laughed at the nonsensical pretend storyline Siofra came up with on the fly. "Siofra, your name literally means fairy. So you're now Fairy the fairy!" Children are so funny, she can't imagine what their life would be without this little bundle of fairy glitters.
It took them a long time until they're blessed with Siofra, and really, Syani can't thank the fates enough. She then glanced towards Kaekeru, thankful that he's happier and more excited of his life than ever before. "I even feel like we're living in a fairytale." Perhaps Siofra's make pretend game wasn't much of pretending after all.

Eve lowered the music she was listening to in her earbuds before she spoke. “Ahh Finally! I never thought we’d leave on time! I like travelling Miki but when we gotta go we gotta go! I mean can’t the men of the household just take care of things while you were gone? I get antsy having to wait around so much, but then again what do I know? You are a mom. Have two amazing kids, a husband that irritates my skin every so often… I mean seriously Zero still gives me grey hairs every so often!” Eve sighed. “How y’all doin anyway? Heard there was some trouble in paradise?” In the background Mitsuko heard the following lyrics coming from the song Eve was listening to. It was catchy.
Like the sun comes crashing down You will set the world on fire Deep down you got to know why We prepare for war
It's vengeance or sacrifice Incapability to hide from the predictable desire Time's up, all in I will rise to top Going to crush us put us to sleep It's lifting us up
As our instincts come alive Got to never give in as we're falling into the sky This time gonna let us all shine One makes three in this chemistry Trinity is the key to feel alive
It's just a shattered world There right before your eyes (Before your eyes) You see the will to fight As we live and die I see the light, It's trinity (it's trinity)

Mitsuko felt the need to stand up for her family. Eve was a good person, but sometimes she would say things that were really uncalled for, even if she was a rough-around-the-edges person. Mitsuko could also see that she had a good heart and was a wonderful person to have as a support, because at times Eve does give Mitsuko a voice when she’s struggling with speaking up for herself. Hopefully with the encouragement that she got from her husband she won’t always have too much trouble in using her voice in the near future— but she still had to be who she was and with how Zero and her reconnected last night she knows that he won’t ever lose sight of her ever again. “Eve I appreciate your concern. You probably are just concerned that I am always doing for others and not giving myself a break or at the very least letting my husband take on some of the responsibilities of the household and taking care of our children more often. But he is doing his best. I am also grateful we made time to reconnect emotionally and intimately. There are still things to work out, but we are in a much better place.”
Mitsuko then texted her sisterly figure to let her know she was FINALLY on her way. She explained in the text that her son got sick right before she had to leave and threw up all over the floor, and that he had a fever, but his grandfather and Zero were going to take care of him. Mitsuko also texted that she will be there in the next hour or two depending on traffic and then continued talking to Eve on the way.
“IF we couldn’t have made it work, I’m sure we would have separated amicably, but I think even that was preventable, all we had to do was talk, and talk, and talk some more. I know how much Zero loves me so he wouldn’t have let me go without fighting for our marriage first, and I wouldn’t either. I’m still not sure how we could go 14 years of marriage and have something like this happen—Zero and I have never ever had emotional distance. Even when we were friends and not dating Zero and I always had a soft spot for each other—even when I had amnesia and forgot him, he still had this softness for me when we reunited, and I remembered him. He never held a grudge against me. And I know after the hard time in our marriage we still love each other. If last night was any indication and him teasing me and playing with me then our marriage will survive this trial and it will heal from it.”

Eve listened to Mitsuko’s words and what she shared with her. Marriage is tough at times but if Mitsuko is committed to Zero, and Zero is committed to her and they continue to work out their problems as a team instead of viewing it as a problem with the other then they are bound to make things work. Eve was just concerned about Mitsuko’s state of health and how guilty she feels for even considering letting Zero and Jean take over the household for a while so that Mitsuko could get a much-needed break. Eve could just say to Mitsuko just ask for what she needs, but that isn’t always easy for everyone to do. Eve then had a flashback that reminded her to give Mitsuko some comforting reassurance. Eve would always catch glimpses of Zero looking at Mitsuko with such adoration and love which told the bounty hunter this: he has and always continued to love and be in love with her even through their difficulties. And she knew Mitsuko felt the same.
“Hey Miki… I know you’ve been so worn out ever since you entered motherhood and your mood changed so drastically because of it… But if it’s any consolation before we get to Syani’s place… I want you to know that Zero has and will always love you. And he most certainly doesn’t hate you or dislike you. He was more frustrated with the lack of communication. He missed you talking to him. He wanted you to talk to him so badly that he didn’t mind if you were a chatterbox. He wanted you to tell him something. Anything. More than just a ‘don’t worry I’m fine.’ He wanted you to let him in your heart. He wanted you to hand over every damn thing you were emotionally carrying so that he could help you with it.” Eve paused and saw Mitsuko well up with tears. She didn’t mean to make her cry even before she saw her sisterly figure. “Oh, shit I’m sorry…”

Syani's ringtone for when messages arrive are very peculiar sounding; it's just a recorded audio track of Siofra melodically yelling 'KIRA KIRA~" in the middle of one of her play pretend games. That child's imagination is too funny, she couldn't imagine how Kaekeru can keep a straight (yet smiling) face while playing around with her all day.
The half-vampire opens her text message from Mitsuko. She frowned at the content though, immediately wondering how Matthew is doing. She knows Matthew is unnaturally attached to Mitsuko by the hip since he was a little kid, and while that need lessens as he grows, it's still obvious that boy sees Mitsuko as his living crutch sometimes. Syani quickly types a message to the angel as a response, 'Safe travels! Lemme know when u get near the village border, i'll teleport to u oki!! <3 love u sis!'
After she sent that, she finds Matthew's number and texts him next, concerned of his health. 'heeeyyyy mattie, i heard ur sick!! i'll send ur mum some herbs oki, so when she gets back home she can steep em in tea for u... gws mattie, remember to pee n sweat a lot to detoxify ur body!'
Syani was never the type to own a cellphone, but her career forced her to get one. She currently works as a tour hostess for visitors who came to the Expansion of Diabolic Domain for the first time, be it students from the school of Diabolic Domain itself, or tourists from outside countries or even other beings visiting who are sentient enough to understand her speech. She's a natural people-person with a bubbly enough personality to pull it off well, and her skill in teleportation makes her absolutely indispensable in the tourism department. In fact, her tours were said to be so enjoyable and magical, people wanted her specifically and have booked her months prior.
Currently, Kaekeru is the one on domestic duties around the house while Syani is the main breadwinner of the family. It also helps that she patented the map of the Expansion she drew to find Kaekeru with in the first place, and she gets royalties for it every month. Financially, Syani is surprisingly managing pretty well. After she's done with work during the day, they trade places and Kaekeru would work during the nights along with the villagers' hunters. He gets along well with the chief of the village for a good deed they did a decade ago, thus the old man allows the pair of vampires to live in peace in this village.
That's how the pair attains this house.
The two built the house from the ground up, right at the nook of the village. Trees grow dense at the sides of their house, allowing the family of vampires ample protection from the sun. Syani painted the house violet, then planted a few lilacs and baby's breath near the front entrance to make their house look visually pleasing. In fact, the house itself is completely swathed in plants and flowers, no doubt a conscious choice. Their garden is at the back of the house, so guests had to walk in through the house to reach the garden. Hence, Syani has cleaned the house to the best of her ability while Kaekeru -bless his heart- is busy distracting the menace itself that is Siofra.
While waiting for her angelic sister to text her once she has arrived at the border of Quekkori Village, Syani hangs out at the garden with her family, hoping Mitsuko and Eve are able to reach this area safely.

Matthew got a loving text from his aunty Syani. He didn’t need to be her blood to consider her as an aunt or family. Since Matthew didn’t have the energy to text her, he called her instead. “Aunty Syani! Thank you very much for your sweet message and concern for me. I hope Siofra is doing well, I sent her a little gift that I made with the use of crochet. It’s a dinosaur. You can put it in her room, or she can carry it around with her. If… I hope this isn’t rude of me to ask but in addition to those herbs do you have enough sweets to spare and share? Mom said she’d ask you first before bringing extra home. It’s been a while since I had any of your baked treats. And my sister being who she is I overheard she got her period. That could explain when she gets grumpy in the near future.” And truthfully all Matthew wanted was a little more peace and quiet, but his sister was almost always getting herself in situations that she either needed their dad or their mom to help her out of and sometimes even him, and she would panic loudly as she talked about the trouble she was in. He loved his sister but sometimes she gave him a little headache. Sometimes he even wished his mom would just book a vacation and take him with her. So to talk to Syani was a relief and knowing that he could call her lifted a weight off his shoulders. He loves video games yes, but there are moments where Matthew does needs his space.

Just as Mitsuko was about to respond to Eve, she got a phone call from Zero and they talked quite at length about everything that had went on with her since Savannah’s birth and hearing that her husband was on board in helping her getting the help that she needs as well as a lot of apologies from him. Eventually they cried together over the phone and Mitsuko promised that she will talk more about the situation with him when she comes home in a few days. She asked in the meantime if Zero could help find a doctor and make an appointment to see one and be with her at the appointment. She also mentioned that she was scared to take medication, but she was willing to try it out if meant that she could get well again. Mitsuko still needed to talk to her vampire sister though because building a support system won’t happen overnight. It will happen over time. With this new insight they both exchanged heartfelt I love you’s and when Mitsuko finally hung up, she had finally reached Syani’s place and called her up. “Sis! Do your zappy zap magic.”

Syani is in the garden playing along with her family's antics. Siofra had dubbed her to be the villain in her play pretend, except the villain isn't in the story yet, so the half-vampire sat on the garden with a smile as she watches her husband and her kid running around collecting whatever's needed for the quest.
Suddenly, she receives a call from none other than her favorite nephew. Syani immediately answers it with an excited greeting and listens happily to what Matthew has to say. "Aww, you made a gift for Siofra? That's so sweet, thank you, my little munchkidee~!" She made exaggerated kissy noises at the phone and laughs. When Matthew was small, Syani was always that one cool aunt who gives him secret rides teleportations to get ice cream or waffles together when he's feeling a little down or peckish. Matthew was the reason Syani discovered her love of children, more so.
"Honey, what??" Syani laughs at Matthew's rather shy insistence of packing sweets for him. "Why are you being so polite for? Of course it's alright~! Anything for my favorite nephew!" Honestly, the sweets she gave him weren't even made by her. "Munchkidee, I need to confess, hehe. All of those treats I gave you all these years? I didn't make them! It's your uncle!" Syani laughs, looking over at Kaekeru in the distance and waved at him good-naturedly. "He can't even eat the things he makes, but he often overestimates how much Siofra and I can eat. Sooooo, I send them to your family whenever he makes too much, hahah. Sorry to break your trust like this, Mattie~"
Syani gasped once Matthew told her he overheard Savannah getting her period. "Oh my gosh! Now that's something to celebrate! I'll send her a text and some chocolates later after I'm done talking with your mom." Just as she's saying that she felt her shoulder being pushed and pulled. Siofra is there, demanding to know who's she's talking to. Once the child knows it's Matthew, she bounded on top of Syani's crossed legs and demanded to speak to him.
"Ow! Siof-- noo! Don't take my phone, behave! ..Aii.. Sorry Mattie, Siofra really wants to talk to you! I'm gonna switch over to video call for a bit okay, she's so fussy!" Syani taps a button on her phone, and on the other line, Matthew could see Siofra with flowers in her hair squealing as she sees a person she recognizes on the phone.
"Mayew!!" Despite being 5 years old, her speech pattern still seems to be baby-like in nature. She couldn't pronounce certain things but tries her best to articulate whatever's in her thoughts anyway. "Mayew, look!!" As if to give a magic show, Siofra stuffs a flower she picked inside her nostril. She then lifts one finger up, as if telling Matthew to wait. When all of a sudden, the little girl started sneezing this adorable chain of sneezes, laughing at her own spasms. She finds it very funny that she can't control her sneezes.
Syani laughs off-camera. She's holding her phone towards Siofra, so the baby can do her little sneezing performance. "Okay, okay, enough. Matthew is sick, let's let him rest, mkay?"
"Huh!? Mayew sick??" Siofra's face scrunched up, when suddenly she bounds towards the phone camera trying to reach it. "Nooooo! Mayew!! Don't be sick! Eat ice cream jelly!" At one point, she's able to get the phone in her hands and she starts pressing her finger to where she's seeing Matthew on the screen. "Siofra magic and make Mayew better!"
The phone looks like it was given back to Syani after Siofra's bold declaration, and the half-vampire sighed. "Sorry about that, Mattie. You should get some rest, hope you feel better soon, sweetie!" She waves to Matthew at the camera, a kindly concerned smile on her face. She promised him she will pack some teas and treats for him and wishes him well before disconnecting the call.
Just in time as she receives a text from Mitsuko.
"Oh, they're here!" She stands up and announced to Kaekeru. "I'm gonna teleport to them and get them here, aight? Be right back!" Within a blink of an eye, Syani disappears from the garden.
And reappears right in front of Mitsuko and Eve. The three women were standing just outside of Quekkori village. Syani's house is at the furthest nook of the village, so the half-vampire rather teleports them there than letting them walk such a long way. "Hello~!" She greets them cheerfully, but once she notices Mitsuko's eyes, her expression drops.
"You were crying." She states flatly, walking closer to her sister and peers directly into her eyes. Syani doesn't ask anything; she simply opens her arms and gave Mitsuko a soft hug. They've known each other for a long, long time, and sometimes words aren't needed to comfort another soul. After a moment, Syani steps back with a small smile. "Let's get some tea in you, shall we?" She holds both of the ladies' hands, and all of them disappeared from the spot.
As much as she likes to teleport directly at her garden at the back of her house, she can't. It's a house of vampires. Welcoming people in properly is a big thing. So Syani has teleported herself and her guests right in front of her violet-painted house. The smell of lilacs and baby breaths immediately encompassed them. The house itself is covered in plants and flowers of many kinds. It looks like a witch's cottage.
Syani steps over the short stairway towards the front porch and gestures them over. "Come, come! Welcome!" She opens the door and steps inside, warmly welcoming them in. It's a cozy house, filled with many different trinkets and plants and pictures on the walls. The furnitures are nestled comfortably together, fostering a sense of warmth in the living space.
"We will have our tea party at the garden! The garden is at the back of the house, though. Come, come~" Syani leads the way through her house, walking straight to the back and steps out into their garden. She's very proud of her garden, it's spacious enough for both her green thumb projects and Siofra's many outside toys. There's a tricycle, a miniature plastic slide and what seems to be an inflatable children's pool with no water at the moment, as well as several other smaller toys. It's obvious to see Siofra is spoiled.
"Kaekeru! Siofra! They're here!" She calls over to her family and steps aside to reveal the blonde angel Mitsuko and her twin-tailed companion Eve. Siofra, particularly, screeched in happiness at the sight of her aunt Mitsuko.
She waddles over towards the angel in an energetic half-run, with both her arms up as if expecting Mitsuko to pick her up. "Aunty Mimi!!!"

Mitsuko hugged her sister back gently and took a few moments to take that hug in. While she and Syani don’t see each other often since they live on opposite sides of the continent, Mitsuko has made sure she kept in touch with her by phone when she can or send cards to her sister during special occasions. For little Siofra Mitsuko would always send little presents for her birthdays, if she wasn’t feeling well, or just to say hello to her. Mitsuko loved children and loved her sister so much that she was thrilled when Syani was able to start a family of her own after years of trying. The two sisterly figures were both mothers now, but one thing that never left them was the bond they had with each other. It isn’t exactly clear how these two women became friends when they were much younger, but that didn’t matter. What mattered was that they respected each other, were there for each other even if their lives took them in different directions every now and then. When Siofra got Mitsuko’s attention the angel carefully picked her up and hugged her gently. “Hello honey. Look what I brought you! Matt sent you this dinosaur, isn’t it pretty? Your mom can put that in your room for you." She smiled. To her Siofra was Mitsuko’s niece. And she didn’t need to be blood related to consider this sweet child as a part of her family. It was the same thing between Matthew and Syani.
Syani and Mitsuko then sat down to talk and have tea but before opening up to her sister about what was going on she got the call she wanted to get so desperately. The call from her 13-year-old daughter—Savannah Anna Grace Cipher. “Oh, I’m sorry. I’m going to take this call from where I’m sitting. I’m sure Savannah has a lot to say. Hi honey. Are you okay?” Mitsuko was worried about her daughter, and while no one would blame her if she wanted to give Savannah a stern talking to about not calling her, Mitsuko did the opposite. She treated her daughter with kindness even if her feelings were hurt that her own daughter hadn’t called her in weeks, even though she had talked to her father every weekend Mitsuko wasn’t content with Savannah just calling her dad. She wanted Savannah to call her too— but Mitsuko knew her daughter. Her daughter had a big heart, but she almost always did things on Savannah time and not right away when people asked her to do something. You could ask Savannah to give her mom a call tomorrow, but she’d get so distracted with many other things that sometimes she just didn’t follow through. In fact, Savannah even had this problem with her dad about not calling him at all due to being distracted or just calling when she needed something or help, but Zero put an end to that pattern just by talking to his daughter about making sure to check in weekly by answering her phone when he called her at a specific time and calling home to say hi to her parents once in a while since it was just a nice thing to do, especially when they weren’t on bad terms. Mitsuko guesses that lesson hasn’t set in on her mother’s side of things just yet however she did make improvements with her father so that was a good start.

“MOM! I’m sorry for calling you out of the blue like this I’m very very sorry! I know dad and I had a talk about me only calling when I needed something and I understand that’s not very nice, but please. I need your help. I summoned a spirit today at school and I don’t know how to banish it. Get rid of it. I…” And Savannah kept panicking until Mitsuko remembered one of Zero’s techniques to calm their child down whenever she freaked out. The angel repeated Zero’s advice. To breathe. Mitsuko guesses that once Savannah finally called her mother, everything just came out. “I also got my period! Please help me mommy…”

Mitsuko took a deep breath herself. “It’s alright honey, I’m with your aunt right now, and if you remember she’s one of the finest witches that I know. We will both help you with this spirit but first I need to know something Savannah. Are you taking a spirit conjuring class at school? I don’t know much about that course, but I do remember my school offering it when I was 16. I didn’t take it myself because it just frightened me and didn’t feel right, but why would you sign up for a class like that without talking about it with me first? Did you feel like you couldn’t come to me about it? If so, then I’m very very sorry that I made it hard for you to talk to me.” Mitsuko was apologetic to her daughter but her concern about Savannah exploring that stuff was still very much present on her face.

“I’m sorry too mom. I didn’t mean to sign up for it without you knowing. But my teacher did let us know that not all spirits are bad and sometimes they can help us out with difficult tasks, but this spirit was summoned by accident! I think it wants to stay with me! Does that mean it may have formed a contract or something?” Savannah was worried. If the spirit did form a contract then how would she take care of it, would it shorten her lifespan? Would she have to give something up because there was possibly a contract in place?

Mitsuko looked at her sister curiously unsure how to answer. “I’m not sure honey but your aunt will most likely know the answer. What do you think Syani? Can a spirit be contracted to someone without their permission?”
