It was clearly noticeable that Ayame still has a hard time dealing with what has happened. The cheeriness that used to accompany her voice was fading when she spoke. A person who is used to company suddenly exposed to the world alone... Still Roy was wondering why she went back to living alone after she made some friends back in school.
"Eh?" A sound of surprise escaped Roys lips when Ayame suddenly turned the conversation towards him. She beamed a smile at him, which made him happy. On the other hand, he didn't think that his story would be a good one to maintain her just recovered happiness. Nonetheless, he felt like he owed her an answer in exchange for her story.
"Well, I..." He made a pause that couldn't be determined either to find where to start or trying to overcome his reluctance. "There isn't really much to tell. Our village was centered in a warzone and therefor not very protected against assaults. Most likely because it was in such a bad location... When I was little I lost my parents. And from that day, I was alone."
Roy wasn't used to talk about his past like that and he tried to make it sound like a report. It was easier for him to express it that way. Also he has stopped looking at Ayame and directed his story to the tree in front of him. "There have been two kids I was friends with in school, but their families moved away eventually because of the dangers that arose when war hit us once again... That's when I left as well and ended up at DD sometime later."
He ended his story without further details, which were mostly about the tough life when he had to manage life on his own after losing his parents, but Roy was sure that Ayame could relate to it. Then he faced her again.

Ayame looked towards Roy who now sounded stiff. She kept her smile. But she could tell he didn't want to go into more detail about it by the way he was talking. She sat there quietly listening to his story. There wasn't anything she could do but sit and smile. Thats when she realized it was time for a change of pace. She didn't like seeing people sad, or upset. She liked the happy atmosphere. Quickly, she then kicked her leg sending a small wave to roy. Small giggles escaped her lips.
Sitting up strait with a big grin on her face. "Well, Whatever the cause, I'm glad your here" She was very blessed to live the life she did at the school and with Iku and everyone. She felt as if there were family. Even thought they were not students anymore. She missed her family yes, but she did not belong there. Koga was her only friend. Here she had many friends. Koga would have rather her live here, than with him and possibly be killed.

The splashing of the water brought Roys attention back to Ayame who was letting out one of her cheerful giggles. Her reply could be taken as the one of a carefree person but to Roy it brought a feeling of comfort. The grin on her face even grew a smile on his own face again, blowing away the sudden change of his mood.
Roy let out a sigh of exhaustion. The sun was burning on his skin. "Ayame, aren't you melting out there?" he asked the redhead while wiping off the sweat on his forehead. "I'm lying in the water with half of my body and I'm still sweating like I have been sunbathing for a while..."
Slowly, he sunk a little into the water to cool down, before crawling out to his rock again. "Or probably you are used to it by living somewhere around this place."

Ayame giggled. Ayame wasn't pale. Her skin was kissed by the sun. Not so dark that she was brown, but definatly not pale. "I think you're just no used to the sun" She said splashing him once more. Ayame then jumped in the water as she splashed him once more. Seems how he was obviously hot at the moment and needed to cool off.
"I think its because you arn't moving around, Roy" She said again now collecting water by making a bowl out of her hands, raising it above his head. Then letting it fall upon him. She giggled once more. Water fight? she thought so.

Roy smirked at her reply. "You are definitely right about that." he confirmed as he let his eyes subconsciously travel over her well tanned skin. When he reached her legs he probably wouldn't get his eyes off of her that easily anymore. But in the moment of distraction he couldn't turn away when Ayame started to splash him with some water again and he got some water in his eyes. Roy quickly rubbed it out with his fingers and before he knew Ayame came back into the water again.
When he looked up Ayame was next to him giving him a little shower over his head. Roy closed his eyes and chuckled. Then he turned around, slipping into the water himself as well and leaning his back onto the rock he just rested on. "Oh, I could get used to you cooling me off." he joked. "But..." Before continuing Roy flicked some water towards Ayames face as if to give a hint about what he is going to say. "But I wouldn't mind it the other way around either."
Then he leaned towards Ayame with a grin. The situation was kind of thrilling. How they were gazing into each other eyes, floating in front of each other in the water, but not touching each other. As if an invisible barrier would separate them and nobody was planning to be the first one to break it down. Roy couldn't tell for how long they remained like this but at some point, he realized that he was staring at Ayame, intrusively. And she, well, he didn't know how she was staring at him. Suddenly the situations shifted into being kind of awkward and leaving Roy unable to do anything... except staring.

Ayame stopped a split second before Roy had flicked his hair making bits of water jump off of his hair and right to her face. "Hey!" She said blocking her face. She then brought her arms down starring into the eyes that were locked on her. She couldn't break it either. She was stuck. She was frozen in place. Her cheeks became rosy. She didn't quite understand as to what he ment but the way his eyes pireced at hers. She was stuck on the saphire blue eyes.
Ayame then became shaky. She had never been in this situation before. "Uh... I.... Uh..." She stuttered out. She had to break it. She had to break the stare. She couldn't just stay lost forever. Quickly she then pushed a wave towards Roy. It was her only escape. Her breathing was slightly heavy. She then looked at Roy, forcing an smirk upon her face.
"Nah your sunburnt, why would you need to warm up" She spoke giggling with a hint of nervousness. Jumping out of the water she smiled truning around at Roy. She didnt know what had just happened right then and there. But it was something she had never expirienced before. So she didn't know how to react.

The girl in front of Roy didn't make a move as well for a while. Roy wasn't able to detect that she was feeling actually quite the same way as he did, probably due to the nervousness that started to roze up inside of him. Her rosy cheeks, her held in breath, her beautiful green eyes darting right at his. All the signs were present, yet he did not notice them at all.
Fortunately Ayame managed to break the awkward tension and Roy lifted his arms to cover his eyes in a reflex. But it must have looked more like an uncontrolled twitch. He used the opportunity to take some cover below the surface, as if it provided protection, until only his head was still visible. Then he raised his eyebrows in surprise after he realized this awkward missunderstanding. "No, I... uh... I didn't-"
But before he could explain himself, Ayame was already escaping out of the lake with a swift jump. "No, don't go! I didn't mean it like that!" He knew that Ayame wasn't about to leave and he didn't want to make a huge drama about that missunderstanding too. But unfortunately due to the emotions that boiled up inside of him, his voice just now had a really uncontrolled desperate sound to it.
Roy shook his head and hoped that this would shake off these weird feelings. Then he took a step towards Ayame and climbed out of the water until he stood in front of her again, like his subsconsiousness was telling him to keep her from leaving.
"What I meant is... that I could... be the one who... the one who..." And there they were again; standing in front of each other, staring. But this time they couldn't even take cover in the water, which made the whole scene even more awkward. In the end Roy managed to finish his sentence with a faint voice. "..the one who could be cooling you off........."

And there it was again. That awkward moment where she was stuck starring into his eyes once more it was like a lock that was so hard to break. So hard that it was like her face was frozen. The wrath of god would not even allow her to look away. There was something going on here. She wasn't exactly understanding. Why couldn't she pull away? What was this feeling that over came her body that did not let her walk away. Why was she so stuck why was she so frozen. WHY WHY WHY! Maybe this is what Iku felt. Or maybe Iku would know what this was.
Ayame's look at Roy was purely innocent. She was so lost and she was so confused that she didn't know what was going on. Her insides were turning, and her face was turning red. "What... do you mean?..I... I'm fine" She whispered softly.

Ayame had a hard time responding again, it was clearly visible. This didn't put Roy at ease, even less did the fact that he had absolutely no clue how they kept on having these awkward confrontations all of the sudden. Roy had almost gotten used to having Ayame accidently tripping on him. They even spend time at the beach, teasing each other in the water, but right now, they haven't been doing anything of the sort, so what is going on?
Roy picked up the signs of Ayame blushing this time and sighed in desperation. "I think... that came out wrong. You know..." Roy started to explain in a calm manner. "I was just trying to tease you, because you were cooling me off when..." He broke the eye contact and waved with his hand as if he had to catch the right words to describe it, but in truth his head was feeling dizzy all of the sudden. Sweat was dripping from his forehead and he could feel his heartbeat slowly fading. "Whoa...." he let out in surprise when he slowly sunk to the ground as if somebody snapped the strings that were holding him up until now.
"I shouldn't... have... enjoyed the sun for that long I suppose." he said, while trying to catch his breath. "Oh wow, I must have been so close from passing out."

Ayame was dazed as she starred at Roy. When he suddenly broke the stare as he was going on about something. She looked towards the water. Then looked back to roy. Right as he fell towards the ground. "ROY!" she yelled as she ran to his side. "Well its a good thing we're ate a place with water and shade" She said as she then grabbed him from the under parts of his arms. She then pulled him away from the water and leaning him up against the nearest tree. When she had successfully done so she then went and grabbed a rag that was laying with ayame's things, dipping it in the water. Ayame was just happy those awkward moments were over with.
Naturally, she didn't understand why that happened. Or even how. Roy has never made her feel so nervous before. Ayame was always able to feel like herself so why was she so nervous now? Wringing out the rag now that it was nice and wet, letting the last bit of excess water fall back into the lake. She then walked back over to Roy squatting down next to him handing him the rag. "Here, use this to cool you off" She giggled.

Before Roy could do anything else Ayame has already been rushing to his side. He did feel kind of useless while she was dragging him into the shade but there wasn't much that he could do. He was only glad that he didn't pass out right in front of her. That would have been embarrassing. Then she was already skipping off to the lake again. Roy took a few deep breaths to get his senses back together. Though all of the troubling thoughts that were in his head minutes before have been like washed away.
"Thank you." Roy said to her with a smile, took the wet fabric and placed it on his head while chucking to himself. He couldn't come up with a good comeback this time. So he closed his eyes and was just silent while the water was gently running down his head and not facing Ayame on purpose this time. Fortunately he already felt much better than before. "Say..." he turned his attention towards Ayame again. "Didn't you you originally bring me here to show me your secret place?" He has been wondering about her plans all along, but Roy didn't mind how the things turned out.
Now he thought was a good opportunity to bring it up. "I mean, it's fun staying here, but I wouldn't rush into the water right again, after my little..." He didn't speak out the fact that he wasn't used to the temperatures in this country. "So! Maybe now's a good chance to take a break and do something else?"

Ayame smiled as she placed the rag on Roy's forehead. "You need to relax for a minute before you start walking around" She giggled. Ayame sat then placing his head on her lap. She smiled upon Roy as she placed the rag in several places on his face. The wind picked up, blowing against Ayames body. Her hair began to slightly flow in to her face. lifting one hand she then tucked one side of her hair behind her ear,
Truth is she did have a spot and it wasn't too far from her. In fact it was right under water fall but she wanted to make sure that Roy was ok because it was a slight walk to get to the best part. "I"ll take you as soon as you cool off" Her smile became bigger. Oh did she have a surprise for him. And he had no idea.
She then reached over into the pool of water splashing Roy on the face. A laugh escaped her mouth. If that didnt help him cool off fast. Well they were going to be there for a while. She then starred into his eyes as they sparkled into the light. Noticing that his hair was now blowing into his face because of the recent change of winds she then brushed it out of his face. Ayame felt a calming sensation that seemed to overtake her body.
"How are you feeling by the way" She asked him.

As she placed the rag on his forehead a few drops of water were comfortably running down his face. Relaxing. That's actually harder than it sounds. While Ayames giggling really did calm him down, the fact that his head was resting in her lap was doing the complete opposite, in a good way. And he didn't even knew why. Roy slightly gazed at her silhouette when her hair was blowing in the wind and she carefully caressed his face with the piece of clothing. It kind of felt like she was enjoying it as well...
"Well I better cool of fast then!" Roy replied energetically and it seemed like Ayame was not giving him another choice anyway since she already started to splash him with water again. Roy let out a surpressed laugh because he got water and apparently a few strands of hair in his eye, but when he looked up Ayame had already reached for his face to brush his hair back.
When their eyes met the wind seemed to stop, the roaring waterfall hushed and silence overcame the two of them for a short moment of time. Her fingertips left a warm and tickling trace on his face and almost on its own and without any clear thought in his head Roys eyes wandered down to her lips... actually their heads weren't that far away from each other at all... slowly he gulped down the tension... When suddenly her voice dragged him back into reality again.
"What.. you mean now?" he asked her confused while looking up into her face. "I'm...... great." he let out with a smile. Honestly, Roy couldn't think of any other place, or any other person, where he would rather be right now. "You are doing a good job in calming me down." With that being said he reached out with his hand and placed it on hers, that was still resting on his cheek and gave her the most heartwarming smile. "So...do you think I'm ready to get up again? ...Or... would it be better if I still lay down for a bit?"
