The press and stress

Rayl look at Kouji blankly, listening to his nonchalant statements that made the red haired man furious. She leaned quietly at the wall, her eyes only fixated at the man whom is the real father of Mitsuko. "Mitsuko's father is a human.... that means she's also a half-breed, right?" she thought out; Jean's outburst made her snap back from her thought.

She wanted to stop the man, Jean seems to be close at its peek temper at Kouji's smug and dark looks. She sighed, Kouji is hard to identify; it's as if they needed someone who can pass from his thoughts.

She left the cell together with Jean who looks exhausted. Not knowing what she'll do or say, she only stood there a meter behind the red haired man. But making a suggestion would be good, right?

"I guess... to know someone's thought, you need someone who can read minds," she started, looking away at his gaze. "That is, if you want to know what the man thinks in an instant."

Jean took a minute and began taking a few deep breaths to relax himself internally, however as a new father to Mitsuko, he was still worried. He knew that the angel could fight, and she was fighting since she had put so much into her life. What made it even harder for Jean was just seeing her lying in that hospital bed lifeless. After regaining his composure he went through Mitsuko’s address book, and found the name of the girl with the white fire lizard.

Jean had a feeling that Saiya would be able to help as well, because after all, she did come to Mitsuko when she had the flu, let alone he had a strong feeling that she would be able to share her knowledge about those with mind reading abilities. Little did he know however Saiya could read minds herself.

He quickly dialed the number and tried to remain calm on the other end of the phone.

“H-Hello Saiya… Do you remember me? It’s the chief that lectured Zero a while back when he exploded. The reason why I am calling is because… I need some assistance. I have a strong feeling you’ll be able to help out with this as well. Please let me know if this is possible. I must tell you that it is urgent.”

He gently hung up the phone and looked at Rayl.

“I will not stop, until Miki gets that justice she so deserves. If I don’t take care of this, I will not be doing a good job as her adoptive dad. Let alone Zero will step in and kill Kouji without even hearing his side. Anyone that hurts Miki… Zero is that wall that tries to protect her. I am so sorry that you are wrapped up in this, but this is one of the many stresses as a bounty hunter.”

Jean looked at Eve who was nearby.

“I want you to meet Saiya half way once she gets near here. Explain the situation as you lead her back here to HQ, is that understood?”

She was just at the outskirt of the Veyyard, just after she received a call from Jean -Mitsuko's adopted father-. She and Gwen were sort of wandering the place. She have once treated as a stress reliever, despite the gloomy and dangerous side of the place.

She pick up her phone and answered it, "Ah... I'm on my way... I'm just outskirt of the town. Don't worry Jean-san, I'll help whatever I can,"

Once done answering, she sped her way at the HQ of the Bounty Hunters. Jeans voice stressed out the word anxious, stress and worry. For a guy whom have been a chief of the Bounty Hunters, who wouldn't?

A minute or so after she sped through the village, she set foot in front of the HQ; seeing a girl there, she went towards the girl as Gwen just at her shoulder. "Um, excuse me, I'm Mizuho Saiya, Jean called me about something that needs my assistance," she introduces, bowing as her crimson orbs gazed at the girl she have just met by now.

She sensed an unfamiliar energy going towards the place. Until a girl just an inch or two below her height introduced herself as Saiya. The one whom can help Jean get some information from the man whom called never accept Mitsuko.

She frowned at the red-eyed girl, before nodding. "Ok... follow me," she let out softly, but just before she pivot to the direction of HQ; she paused and look at the red-eyed girl. "I'm Enzan Rayl..." she introduces as she continued to lead the direction at the HQ.

She didn't bother to ask the girl what she is capable of, knowing already to Jean that the girl could help them decipher the father of Mitsuko. She side glance at the girl, yes... she could feel the blood of a pure blooded demon at her. But what confuses her is the attitude of the girl.

She's... civil, not those whom she known during her journey.

She paused and saw the problematic Jean. "Jean... she's here," Rayl announced as she once again look at Saiya and nodded.

[Note: because of recent events, Kouji has now died and Mitsuko is now married and out of the hospital.]

As soon as Saiya arrived he spent some time talking to her and explaining the grave situation about Mitsuko. How she got injured and that she is in the hospital clinging to dear life. Little did Jean know Mitsuko’s heart did stop beating for three minutes. As Jean was explaining the whole ordeal he did break down a few times. The press was so into getting their “scoop” about the angel that was attacked, but Jean wanted Mitsuko to be at peace and to recover without the press hounding her.

Jean has the genuine heart of a father and he would do everything he can to protect her from the press that would do anything, to make Mitsuko uncomfortable. If Mitsuko dies, then Zero will surely erupt like a volcano so Jean had to do everything in his power to make sure she has the best care possible, including a stress free recovery. Stress affects the mind and the body, and it could set Mitsuko’s body into limbo.

Jean put his elbows on his desk while clasping his hands together, and rested his forehead against them. He had a feeling that him and Zero will have a big fight over this since Jean was the one that gave Mitsuko a fair shot at being a bounty hunter, and she did her job as an angel, as a friend and as a bounty hunter. She protected a innocent child.
