When Jean heard Zero’s remark about knowing more than he let on he sighed, but just replied to the comment in his thoughts while helping the young lady on to the motorcycle and making sure that she got her helmet on. ‘Because Zero. If I gave you all the answers and what you wanted on a silver platter you won’t learn anything. You tell me all the time that you want to be stronger, more self reliant, and yet you most likely pointed your gun at an innocent that was only trying to help you. That’s only going to make people afraid of you. NOT respect you. How would you feel if it was your best friend staring down the barrel of your gun, or worse, if you accidentally shot her? That same friend you say you care about and miss? You my boy would be absolutely horrified, feel like shit, and want to apologize to her profusely. Keep doing better Zero. I know you can do it. When you reach that point of growth and change you will look back at your younger immature self and say: my life didn't turn out so badly afterall. Despite all the odds stacked up against me.’
Jean then got himself situated on his bike with Rika, started up the engine and off they headed to HQ. “So Rika. How did you become interested in herbology? That IS what it's called right? Please correct me if I'm wrong!" His voice was loud not because he was yelling at her but due to the roaring of the motorcycle engine.

Rika smiled at Zero as he repeated her statement as a question. "Mhm~!" She uttered cheerfully. Her smile fell only slightly, slowly becoming almost nostalgic, as he began to scold her for walking in a place he claimed to be dangerous. She returned to looking cheerful as she responded. "Thank you for being concerned~ I'm used to walking alone a lot~ I don't really know most people for very long~ So you're the first people I've met who know this area~"
Rika smiled cheerfully at Jean as he introduced himself, rocking back and forth on her feet a few times while listening happily. "It's nice to meet you, Officer Jean~!" She responded after his introduction, still smiling cheerfully, having stopped rocking and now with her head tilted slightly and raised her right arm to do a small salute.
When Jean started conversing with Zero, she noticed Hunter approaching and smiled at him. "Okay~" She responded with a small chuckle about them talking privately a lot. "Hm?" She questioned while looking up at Hunter as he asked her to wear his hat to see how loose it is. "Sure~" She chuckled again. After having the oversized hat placed on her head, Rika's cheerful smile fell slightly, still maintaining a smile, when it seemed like Hunter's mind was elsewhere instead of laughing at her like she expected. Her smile seemed more sympathetic when he compared her to a friend. "A good reminder, I hope." She said in a tone that was a bit more soft than her previous tone, a look in her eyes like she understood the feeling of missing someone.
Rika's sympathetic smile remained towards Hunter as he walked away, only breaking back into a more cheerful smile when she heard her name again coming from Jean. She turned to face him with her cheerful smile and jogged, almost skipping, towards him, stopping a few feet away with her arms behind her back again as she listened to him. Her eyes widened a bit as he talked about putting Zero on cleaning duty if he raised his gun at her. She suddenly put her hands in front of herself in a calm down motion with a sweet customer service smile. "No, it's okay~ A lot of people act in strange ways when they're badly injured~ A head injury is no joke." She finished with a sympathetic smile facing Zero who was about to drive off with Hunter.
After leaving that in the air for a moment, Rika lowered her arms and smiled cheerfully again. "It's been a while since someone asked me to ride with them on their bike~" After that, Rika followed Jean's directions to climb onto the bike and put the helmet on that he handed her. She held on a bit tightly at first as the bike first started, not actually feeling used to riding motorcycles in particular. She did ride once or twice in the past, but it was always a bit nervewracking and exciting when it started. She chuckled to herself as her heartrate began to calm and loosened her grip slightly, though still holding well enough to be safe, she assumed.
Rika chuckled as Jean began asking her about her field of study/work. "Herbology is one of a few correct terms, yes." She smiled even though he couldn't see her smile from where she sat holding on from behind. "It's something I've always loved. There were many herbologists in the village where I grew up." Although it wasn't the term her village used, she used it anyway for the sake of Jean's understanding. "How did you become interested in police work?" She asked in return, still assuming they're police officers.

‘Oh dear.. she still thinks we are police officers… but then again we do work alongside them depending on the case… How should I go about answering this ray of sunshine’s question? I don’t want to deceive her, but I can see why she’d confuse the two professions.. hmmm maybe I don’t have to overthink this. I can let the conversation progress naturally.’
Jean thought to himself for a bit before answering Rika, but then he did. “Well.. when I was a really young man.. I used to be a part of the church. I was a priest you could say. I know. I can’t believe I went from a holy man to a leader of bounty hunters.. but I guess when you are raised and live in Veyyard and see a lot of terrible things happen to people daily, well that desire to actually do something beyond just praying.. grows." Jean paused for a minute. “Long story short I met a man named Faun and well we went from there. That man turned out to be horrible so I’m glad he left the bounty hunter organization. Now he’s just a ghost.”
Jean then changed topics. “So tell me more about how you got into herbology. I’m interested! Maybe there is something that I can learn from you and I can add that knowledge to the infirmary wing. How did Zero’s injury heal that fast? Are you an angel? If you are I wouldn’t be surprised. We have a resident angel in this domain.. I think you’d like her. I haven’t met her myself but I thought I’d mention her existence if you ever need a friend. If you are an angel you could easily increase the potency of your herbs. And you are a ray of sunshine. It’s refreshing.” Jean smiled to Rika through the rearview mirror. “This may be odd coming from an old man like me, but thank you for being you Rika.”
