A little girl, by about 12 years of age probably, paused into eating her slice of cheesecake. She had been watching the man that had given all the people here lots of bread and cakes, and not long there's a woman approaching him, and they were talking for a while.
At one point, they were frowning so deeply, it moved little Pamela to stop eating and just stared at them. At first, she has doubts, but then she stood up from where she sat on the floor, and maneuvered her way across all the little children towards the pair of grown-ups there, still with her unfinished cheesecake in hand.
"I want to show you something.." She stated out to both Zephel and Ayame without even greeting them, then walked off while making sure they followed close behind.
She exited the cathedral, with her cheesecake in hand, and walked around the edge of it to reach the back of the cathedral. There's an awfully lot of shrubs around on the way there, but Pamela hopped and swerved around them with ease, as if she's used with the path.
Upon reaching at the back of the cathedral, Pamela stopped, and spun around to where the two adults are catching her up. Once they reached her, the little girl turned her back to them to show them exactly what she wanted; a large mass of land...with a lot of tombstones.
"These are all the friends we lost," she announced with her little voice, then walked towards the graveyard, and halted at a particular tombstone there. "This is Durant's grave.. He's my brother. He was taken, and got his hands and feet cut off, because they want to sell his limbs as frozen food."
Its amazing how this girl managed to speak such terrible things of her brother's fate so calmly like that. "They cut his body so bad, people can't even tell if its normal minced beef, or children meat," she looked up to Ayame and Zeph for a while, before placing her unfinished cheesecake beside her brother's tombstone.
"I'm lucky that I found his head..." she whispered while patting the very soil that she buried him in, almost like she's loosing her voice. "Look, Durant.. Some nice people finally came...like you said. ..A little late to rescue you, but I hope they'd help the rest of us.." Pamela said in such a way to the tombstone, just hearing her voice would send people close to tears.
She then stood up, and then dashed away from the graveyard. Her half-finished cheesecake was left by the tombstone, almost as if she wanted her brother to finish it for her.

Ayame felt guilty, about not being to help she was about to say something when a little girl came up to her and Zeph. Wanting to show them something. The girl acted so calmly. She had no idea where she was going. But Ayame didn't really have much of a choice now did she.
Thats when they made it to their destination. Ayame had a bad feeling about this right at the get go, especially when she saw the little girl had stopped next to a tombstone. The little girl had then begun to tell her story, about her brother, bringing Ayame to tears. She was always told Ayame was a big cry baby. But at something like that who wouldn't be sad. Ayame tried her best not to cry. Not to loose her composure. If not for her atleast for the little girl who had lost everything.
Ayame tried to speak. But the words wouldn't come out. All she could do was burry her face in her hands. Memories of when she was younger began to flood her mind. She remembered being lost and scared just how this little girl must've been feeling. Ayame then buried her face into her hands. Ayame just had to watch over them. No one else would watch over them. No one else would protect them. Even if it weren't even very well. Ayame had to try her best in trying to keep these kids safe.
"Some guardian I am" She muttered to herself. If she couldn't keep herself together now, What made her think she could be strong for them when they needed it most?

The atmosphere was indeed heart heavy. The last time she was here, she was here to pay her respects to those that had fallen. However her objective this time was different. She had learned of rumors that someone was planning on building an orphanage here. The angel had learned about it through her friend Leo.
She also brought a few goodies that the children could make use of. Especially medicine.
The young artist had brought it to her attention while Mitsuko was taking care of him,
One thing that concerned her was is there going to be any sort of security measure put in place, for the orphanage plan to work out, and be in a safe environment to grow, to learn, and to live in?
Mitsuko felt like the children shouldn't be exposed to so much violence. She believed that these children needed a world without violence, a place of innocence, without poverty. After all their child hood is pretty much stripped from them.
As she approached the area, she overheard a young woman beating herself up and feeling that she wasn't good enough to be the orphanages guardian. The angel of course felt bad for this young woman so she decided to help her out. By giving her words of encouragement.
"Hey, don't put yourself down. Everything is going to be okay, the most important thing is that you are trying right? I know... that this situation is heart heavy however try your best to hold it together for these beautiful children." The angel put a gentle hand on the young woman's shoulder and smiled.
"These children need someone that they can look up to, and to take the pain away the best they know how. Never underestimate your own abilities, since one day you will surprise yourself."
"You have something to be proud of right here and now. That reason? You are here with these children. Hold your head high and don't sell yourself short."
She then pulled Ayame into a hug, since she looked like she was about to cry. The angel rubbed her back a bit in a comforting way and said:
"It's alright. One day this whole area will be healed from pain, despair, poverty... And it is all because people care."

A little girl. It takes one little girl and her tale to set ablaze that dim will in his heart. His capability to consciously choose and decide with full attention is awaken with just by staring at the tombstone this girl had left him with after running off.
He ignored Ayame's attempt to get a hold of herself, and just focuses on the tombstone, the word 'Durant' was engraved on it. According to the years printed there, the boy had just recently died...a month ago or so. Zeph then crouched down on one knee in front of the boy's grave and closed his eyes to give him his respects.
After a moment, the silver-haired stood back up again, just in time to hear Ayame muttering something. "This place is crazy.." he had whispered, looking over to the rest of the graves in his view. It was so many, he can't believe all who died here are children. "These people aren't just killers..they're cannibals.." Veyyard is indeed crazy.
"But I WILL build this orphanage." After what he heard, he must. He can't just ignore the problem now, it's worst than he ever imagined.
All of a sudden, a blur of white attracted his attention, and then a familiar voice reached his ears. He turned around, and like he expected, saw an angel. An ally. Mitsuko. Just by being there, from her presence, she can calm those around her and settles down the waves of thoughts that bothers one's soul.
"Mitsuko.. Well met." A fitting timing too. Considering if it was up to him to calm Ayame, then it would take a miracle to do so. Talk about Ayame, the silver-haired then glanced at her, noticing there's still a bit of tear stains on her cheeks.
"...You alright?"

Ayame was broken at that moment. She could feel the little girls pain through her heart. Just looking at the the seeminly blank child. She could see that there were so many tears, so many fears. The kids brother protected her from everything. Just like hers. Only difference was. Ayame's brother was alive. And saved her through this whole time. Until she was placed in the school. But at that point Ayame was never afraid anymore.
She was then placed into the angels arms. Tears were still rolling down her cheeks. At that moement she had missed her brother. She wondered how he was. "Thank you" She mumbled to the angel who was comforting her. She whipped her tears. Looking at the little girl she felt inspired. It was now her turn to return what her brother has done for her all those years. "You alright?" She heard from zeph. She looked up removing the last tear from her face.
"Im ok" She forced a smile for the little girl. For Zeph, for Mitsuko. She had to be strong from this point on. There was no turning back.

Mitsuko smiled down at the young woman and moved some hair from her face. The angel looked at the children that were present and looked Ayame. The angel knew that this young woman needed more confidence in herself and so the angel will teach Ayame to believe in herself more. Things do sway us but our heart and our goals shouldn’t be forgotten or be blocked off by fear. When children couldn’t be strong for themselves, it was up to those that care for them to be strong for them.
After all children are smart and when they feel the strength, encouragement, and love from those that they look up to they in turn will be inspired to find their own strength and make the most of an unfortunate situation. It’s scary for people to do the right thing sometimes but when we have people that support us anything is possible to see through and to accomplish in the end.
“So dry those tears, smile, and remind yourself that these children need you. But you aren’t alone Zeph, and myself are with you. We won’t let you do this alone. If you need advice I’d be happy to teach you what I know.”
She then introduced herself.
“My name is Mitsuko.”

Zephel turned his head away when he saw that Mitsuko is comforting Ayame. There's just something about seeing people at their weakest moments that made him uncomfortable that he's so used to turning away, perhaps it was to protect that person's pride.
In hearing Ayame's confirmation that she's okay, Zeph nodded in acknowledgement. He smiled a bit to see Mitsuko doing what she knows best by comforting and encouraging the younger woman, and then turning to him to remind him that he's not alone in this.
"That's actually comforting to hear. You're the only one I know who's good with children here." He commented to the angel, and then he glanced towards Ayame for a moment. "Now that we both know how awful these kids' lives are..."
His eyes stays fixed towards Ayame as he questioned again, "Would you like to help?"

"Its nice to meet you Mitsuko, I'm Ayame" She said softly. Her voice was shaken but conforting. She was still worried. Worried that she would not be good enough. That what if her best wasn't enough to save the kids, to protect them. She couldn't show that though. she had to stay strong. You could see the insecurity in her eyes but her voice was solid.
She looked towards zeph. "Yes" She said softly while knodding her head. She wanted to help the best she could. She wanted to make a difference. As while she didn't know just how well or how good it would be she had to. She couldnt just turn her back on these poor innocent children who had no means of protecting themselves.

Mitsuko smiled at Ayame and took both of her hands in hers as she saw the insecurity in her eyes. The angel gently reminded her that they were in this together, and everyone had their own strengths to make sure that the children got the help they needed. Smiling at how Ayame was trying so hard to be strong Mitsuko, suggested their first course of action.
“If I may make a suggestion of what we should do first, and that is make sure that these children have, nutritious food and water. Is there a pipe line or something that we can make sure that clean water comes through? As for food we will have to help these kids monthly and even stock up supplies for them.”
Then another idea came into the angel’s head so she brought it up to Zeph’s and Ayame’s attention, considering for the children to survive they need money.
“What do you both think about holding a fundraiser so we can raise money to open the orphanage? For now though we’ll assist these children with anything they need and with a fundraiser we will be able to raise money to build and open the orphanage. These are suggestions so I will not be offended if it is not workable.”
“I can actually sew proper clothing for these children, you both can leave that to me, as for education I do teach on a regular basis so once this orphanage opens I can come by and teach them? but I'll need your help Ayame. Since you are the guardian i think if you teach with me, you'll learn too.”
"Remember? You are never alone."

Zephel nodded once Ayame had answered yes to him, he understands that these women here has the same goal here with him, and that is helping these children. Since they had experienced first-hand of the little girl's shocking tale and staring right at the mass of graveyards behind the cathedral here, it's difficult to just abandon all these poor children.
"Alright." As long as they're all as determined as him to make this happen, then this will definitely happen. He turned to Mitsuko once she spoke up of her suggestions, and there they began their discussion, in front of the graves of the children where their departed souls are able to witness the change of fate for the rest of the living kids.
"We are at the furthest edge of Veyyard, I am unsure if they have pipelines here. We have to ask the priests there to provide us with some information regarding the geographical properties." He looked around, wondering if he can sense water flowing around here. His water element mastery isn't that advanced yet, so he might really have to ask the pastors inside about it.
"Holding a fundraiser is a good idea. I can hold it in my work cafe." Zeph smiled, content that this plan is taking its course soon enough. Mitsuko suggested of how she's able to sew and teach, inviting Ayame along, and Zeph is glad this is going to be real. "This is good. We'll make this happen. Might probably need a few months to attain enough money to build the orphanage, but we'll do what we can for now."

Ayame shot up with excitment. "ooooo! I can help with the fundraiser!" She said. She was excited. Selling pastries. Piece o cake. quite literally! Ayame has always been one to be good at selling stuff. How does she know? she's a girl she knows these things. Plus her brother had taught her the main rules of selling goodies. Flash them those big eyes and they wont be able to resist.
Ayame was stoked. She couldn't even begin to hold it in. Plus baking was her favorite thing to do! "Maybe we can do other fundraisers too! Like uh.... uh... " Her mind went completly blank. Her eyes were wide as now all attention was now on her. "...uh.." She couldn't think of anything.... 'Crap I had an idea now where did it go...' "a...... lemonaide stand?" She finnally blurted out.
Oh thats exactly what she needed. She cursed her brain for having gone blank at a crucial moment. Why couldn't she have come up with a good idea. WHY! She looked at Zeph then back to Mitsuko. "Or maybe we can just sell lemonaide at the cafe" She gulped. Maybe that was a good enough save. She felt herself getting nervous waiting for the responces of the two. 'Oh they must think im an idiot now' She thought to herself

Mitsuko was very happy to be a part of a very important project. She loved children and she always wanted to do something to help them in a very big way and now she had this chance with her friends to make a difference. This wasn’t about getting noticed it was about doing what was right as people and as people who were able to give to those that weren’t so lucky. The angel listened to all of Ayame’s ideas and she welcomed them.
“How about this Ayame? We can take your idea and create a charity event with it? With games and prizes, almost like a carnival, so it won’t be just traditional like people coming up to stands and walking away afterwards, but they can participate in things that they can have fun in. All donations and proceeds go to the building of this orphanage. I know it will take a while for us to construct this but I believe it should work out.”
“Do you like to bake Ayame? If you do then I can help you with that as well if you like. We can create little muffin baskets and sell them at the fundraiser. Muffin baskets make such a great gift for loved ones too. I used to see people bring them to the hospital I was in and the patients that were there enjoyed them. Hahaha my favorite muffin is banana chocolate chip.”
The angel said that with such a radiant happy face, clearly accepting Ayame’s idea.
Then she remembered something very important. Since this was Veyyard security was a huge concern, and Zero had brought that to her attention. In the midst of the excitement she truly forgot about security measures. The angel looked at Zeph with concern in her eyes and then spoke.
“Zeph, do you have any ideas about security? Since this is Veyyard it is the most dangerous, and since Ayame is the guardian for the children we have to make sure she is protected as well. I could bring it up to Zero’s attention again since it’s been a while since I mentioned this to him but… while he would help no question since he loves children, he is a bounty hunter and is dispatched all over the place, it might be hard for him to stay stationed in one area.”
“I could talk to my adoptive dad about this, and see what he can do and while bounty hunters do charge for their services.. I’m sure they won’t mind in doing me this favor.”

Zephel was genuinely glad when Ayame got her spirits back and responded in such a lively manner. Really, these two ladies filled in the gaps that he himself lacks; Mitsuko is the heart, and Ayame is the spirit -- both in which Zeph lacks as a whole.
He let out an airy chuckle of Ayame's idea, he can obviously see she's blanking out, and the way she blurted it out made him smile. "It's okay. That's actually a good idea. We're supposed to do what we can for now, so as long as it's doable, why not?" He reasoned calmly with a nod. They're just 3 people after all, so of course they can only start small from ground up.
Once Mitsuko starts about her charity idea, Zephel listened. When he has the chance to, he spoke up. "A charity event sounds wonderful. But we need more investment to create something like that, building it especially. We'll do it once we have more money, for now, let's start small." He said slowly and clearly, before turning to look at Ayame. "Like Ayame's idea. A lemonade stand doesn't sound bad."
Zephel agreed with Mitsuko's muffin basket idea though. Working in a cafe, he knows how popular muffins and cupcakes are as gifts. "Then we'll collect the money by selling pastries as our first step. We can invest the money in a bank with it, and with it we can collect the interest over time. When its enough, we can support the charity event to collect even more money. Soon enough, we can build the orphanage." He concluded with a shrug, it's all common sense to him.
Once Mitsuko inquired him of the security, Zephel looked around at the graveyard for a while as he thought for a moment, then turned back to Mitsuko to state out his thoughts, "I think we should think about security once we have the orphanage built here, with the materials and such. This cathedral is standing right at the edge of Veyyard, away from the central poison, there's not much danger here when there's nothing yet to steal." Zephel had always told the children to stick to the edges of the city, and always stay together so they will have a better chance in avoiding danger.
He paused a bit, thinking about her offer of asking her friend, Zero's help, considering he's a bounty hunter and he actually lives in this dangerous country. "Hmmm... It might clash with the man's work, but I suppose when he has some time to spare, it'll be great if he could help out." He nodded to the angel in agreement. "For now though, I suppose we just focus on what we could do first. We should take turns visiting the children here in the cathedral to provide them some food and clothes."
Looking at both the women, he thought for a bit and his eyes suddenly lights up. "I have an idea for the security." Smirking, Zephel then pointed upwards and looked above, where a giant blue dragon is soaring and flying freely. "Having a bigass fire-breathing dragon at the front of the orphanage will scare anyone who dares to get through. Plus, Oprhion can let me know when bad things happen." He tapped the side of his temple, taking about the telepathy a dragon has with its rider.

Ayame was glad she didnt look like a COMPLETE idiot. Her idea was actually encuraged. 'YAY' were her thoughts. Her excitment built up even more when there was talk of a carnival! "A carnival sounds like so much fun and we can dress up and everything!!" She said excitedly. But Zeph had a very interesting point. 3 people could not run a carnival without wanting to rip their hair out. And that they would need more funds to do so. 'Oh poo' She thought. She sat there pondering for a moment. Any other bright ideas? Nothing came to mind.
That was when Mitsuko had brought up security. Ayame sweatdropped as she imagined fighting off heards of bad guys... ALL BY HERSELF. "Uh...." She said aloud. She didnt really want to be responsible for the deaths of anymore children on her watch. But what was she to do. They all couldn't stay there all the time. But Ayame couldn't do this all by herself!!! Her thoughts drifted as Mitsuko mentioned someone named Zero. She titled her head. 'He sounds like a badass to have such a busy schedule' Ayame then put her hand to her chin, getting into the ultimate thinking pose. Zeph then pointed to his dragon. "But isn't it hard to go without your companion?" She questioned. She only asked this because she had seen Iku and Tyr. If they could help it. They were with their dragon. Their dragons made good use of making transportation much faster as well.
"What if there was a wall built around the orphanage? You know big enough for the kids to have some playing space and still be safe." Ayame blurted out. "I doubt they will want to stay in all day, And if there is only one person here it will be a little hectic watching over ALL THOSE KIDS" Ayame putting emphasis on the last 3 words.

To be quite honest, it will be quite difficult for him without Orphion. He can handle without the flight transportation, it's just that Orphion is connected to him in heart and soul. Being apart from the dragon might just make him feel unrest all the time. Still, he thought it's best if he's the only one in unrest while the rest of the children can be safe.
So, when Ayame actually voiced out his silent worry, Zephel immediately shot her a look of surprise. '..H-how did she...' She questioned so freely, as if it's common concept. He's beginning to wonder if she has a dragon herself, to be able to understand that. "A-Ayame--" Just as he's about to question her, the redhead spoke up of her alternate idea.
"A wall, huh..." Zeph pondered as he looked around, imagining a wall being built up around the cathedral. "...Hmmm. It will provide a sense of security...and keep the kids inside from straying off too far..." Quickly, his mind immediately thought up of how that can be possible with their low income at the moment. It's just building a wall, they just need cement, bricks can easily be salvaged all around Veyyard with how broken down it is.
"Mitsuko," his eyes darted towards the angel next. "When is your friend, Zero, free? Perhaps he can help in building the wall with me." He has half a mind to call his brother, Hikaru, to help in as well. He needs every manpower to help in at least building this wall to keep the children safe.
